My sister-in-law is renting her first house and is having a housewarming party this weekend. I got her a beautiful hummingbird feeder but feel like I should get her something more. What could I put in a gift basket with the feeder?

romantic gift baskets?
trying to make a romantic gift basket for our weekend getaway. So far I have Champange, maybe some strawberrys , ..any other ideas will be helpful
--------------------
How romantic... maybe a crusty french bread and cheese, sipping on your champagne w/strawberries. Fried chicken or cold rotisserie chicken sandwiches. This is a great salad... 3/4 lb. red potatoes (the smallest you can find) 1/2 lb. thin, french green beans 1/4 lb. English cucumber, peeled and sliced 1/4 C. fresh dill, chopped 1/4 C. minced red onion 1 tbsp. olive oil 1 tbsp. freshly squeezed lemon juice 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. teaspoon sugar 1 tsp. Dijon mustard Freshly ground black pepper, to taste Prepare washed, cleaned potatoes by cutting the larger ones (over 1 1/2" or so in diameter -- smaller ones can stay whole) in half, then salting all potatoes lightly. Steam for about 15 minutes, until tender. Cool. Trim the French green beans, then steam for about 6 minutes, or until crisp-tender. Cool. In a large mixing bowl, combine potatoes, green beans, cucumber, dill, and onion. In a small bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, salt, sugar, mustard, and pepper to taste. Pour over potato mixture and stir gently to mix. Let flavors combine for about an hour in the refrigerator. Whatever you decide have a great time!

How would you make a gift basket for a cousin for her engagment party?
I want to make a gift basket for my cousin, so I need a little help.
--------------------
You can give them a gift for their engagement, by sending it to their home. Try a movie night themed basket for her and her new hubby... I always like to do the "These are a Few of Your Favorite Things," basket for birthdays, mothers day, and it might work in this case. Its nice, because it shows them you were listening and remembered what their favorite things are...

Sending a gift basket or hamper to Australia from the USA?
Hi, I live in the USA and need to send a nice gift basket/hamper to Australia. I have spent countless hours online with no luck. The best USA gift basket sites have very limited choices in international delivery, while the Australian hampers would be nothing original. Does anyone have experience in ordering a quality gift online to be sent out of the country? At this point I feel like my best bet is to shop for an Australian hamper to be sent within Australia. I just wanted some neat american cheese or wine I guess... Thanks in advance.
--------------------
Before you buy anything outside Australia for sending into Australia, you should check out on the customs pages as there are numerous items that cannot be imported in (without a special licence). especially food products. Have you thought about perhaps making a little gift basket up yourself? Have a think about items (not necessarily food) that is more Americanised (ie obvious choices for someone sending from aus to us would be boomerang, kangeroo, koala etc) That would be original! (and would probably save you money too!) have a thought as to what the person you are sending to likes!\\ Good luck!

Any Ideas for what goes in a Sympathy Gift Basket?
An out-of-town friend, who is very dear to us, lost a young sister to cancer. This has obviously been very devastating for her, and we really want to give her a gift basket of things that will soothe and comfort her. Unfortunately, I find that the gift baskets which I've found online have irrelevent and -- in my opinion -- inappropriate sympathy gifts (like cheese logs, and sausages..etc.) I fear I lack the ettiquette to pull this one off. PLEASE - does anyone have any ideas for classy, inspiring sympathy gift baskets that aren't corny. Nothing over-the-top with inspirational messages, or bible verses. I'm sure she would appreciate anything we give her, but our friend is a very hip, young, modern woman, with taste. Please list your top 3 suggestions for things that are classy, tasteful, that will soothe her in her grief, and won't offend her. (hint: anything organic is also good) Thank you everyone! I only have a few days to do this
--------------------
One thing I found very hard to do after the loss of my mother was to just keep going through the every day trivial things of life. The BEST thing someone did for me was cook.... I was so devastated I was forgetting to eat.... so, fruit, crackers, teas always work too.... a plant of some sort is a nice touch.... if you are going to make it yourself, go to Trader Joe's or Whole Foods and fill that basket up with foods that can be nibbled on.... And you might include a very tasteful journal and nice pen with a little note that states, "here is a place for you to write down all of your memories of your sister. May you be filled with the joy she brought to your life." Or something like that.... I think, more than anything, it is the fact that you are thinking about her that will bring comfort to her...

How do you package and ship a gift basket?
I'd like to put together a gift basket filled with toiletries, spa supplies, and other things. How do I package the gift basket properly so that I don't have things falling out of the basket and moving around when it's shipped to its destination?
--------------------
First of all, you don't want things in the basket shifting around while in shipment. To keep things in their place, use styrofoam or floral foam to act as spacers and you can even push the edges of some items into the foam so that it stays put better. To hide the foam, cover it with dried moss of whatever color you like, or even thin shreds of colored paper. Many products are available to use for that purpose. You can use staples to hold the moss or paper to the foam. Also, try to use baskets without handles since the handles can get in the way when you go to shrink wrap your basket. Ideally, you want the shrink wrap to go directly over the items in the basket rather than over a handle. It works better that way. Use as much of the shrink wrap as is necessary, heavy items may need more than light items. Finally, ship in a box that has plenty of room on all sides so that packing peanuts will completely surround the basket. After all, if you're going to work that hard on a nice gift basket, you want to make sure its well protected. Have fun making your baskets!

Good items for a nighttime/sleep themed gift basket?
For our holiday party at work, the social committee is encouraging departments, committees & etc, to create themed gift baskets to be used as door prizes. I work the night shift, so I thought, if my evening co-workers are agreeable to it, that we could do a nighttime/sleep themed basket. I'm looking for ideas about what I could put into a basket like this. I thought a sleep mask would be good & maybe teas that are supposed to help you relax. But what else would be appropriate?
--------------------
Scented sprays to help you sleep. Chamomile tea. A little stuffed lamb, heehee. Slippers. A soothing CD (either nature sounds or light New Age music)

How can i ship my gift baskets?
I have started a gift basket business and i would like to post some of them on ebay. But i can't figure out how to ship the baskets without them getting messed up in the shipping process. They will be wrapped in cellophane but that doesn't keep the items from shifting during shipping. If you have any ideas or you have done this before please help!

Looking for a name for new business featuring gift baskets and interior decorating?
Hello, I am starting up a home business where I will create custom gift baskets. I will have the option for the customer to bring me the stuff and I make it look pretty or I will create the basket using one of my themes. I also plan to offer services such as interior decorating, home organizing, and possibly even event decorating. I need a name that is classy and can encompass all of these things. I am in a very touristy town with many potential upscale clients. So far I am the only gift basket company out there(almost out there:o)) Ready, get your thinking caps on! Thanks!

My reaction to your question. Consider your price points. Consider consigning to drug store chains. Write Walgreen's, CVS and consider Kroger, Safeway but I would avoid Walmart because they are not going to pay for the worth of your work. I like Walmart, not for you! I think you would be ill advised to seek a government loan. I used to practice law and there was an old saying that a government loan is the sure sign of a bankruptcy. I think the red tape would overwhelm a small business and suck the life out of you. But, I think the best approach is product placement in high volume retail spaces like the names listed above. Think of others then work on nailing down one contract. Then, if you are progressing add a second volume retailer. I guess it is the old "if you cannot beat em, join em."

Lingerie and Bridal Lingerie Gift Baskets?
I have an online lingerie store and I am considering offering custom lingerie and bridal lingerie gift baskets. They would consist of a lingerie item such as a babydoll, teddy or other lingerie, lotion, body wash, bath salts, powder, a candle, rose petals, music and other items. Guys...would this be something that you would buy your wife or girlfriend? Girls...is this something you might buy for a friend that is getting married or as a gift for yourself? I wanted to get some feedback before investing in this venture.... Any suggestions would be welcomed .....Thanks!

Need help with ideas for holiday gift baskets, liquor themed...?
The gift baskets I'm making this year are liquor themed as our friends are drinkers and why not get them what they truly want? Inebriation! (ha) The idea kind of found me, but I'm at a loss what to do for my Jack Daniels baskets. My Jose Cuervo baskets, for example- contain a small bottle of Jose, a box of Jose Cuervo chocolates, a little wrapped box of "limes" (candy gummy limes dipped in sugar...get it?), and a little box of "shot glass" cookies. It looks fabulous. For the Jack baskets, I have cordial bottles of jack (small bottles could not be found), jack Daniels chocolates and...that's it. I can't think of an idea for the cookies, or for another item to fill the space. I'm not a Jack drinker and so it's a little more difficult. I like to be a little whimsical & creative (hence the candy limes) as well as stick to sweets/goodies as it is for Christmas after all. Any suggestions would be SO helpful, my creative side is all worn out!

My brother (the biker) and his Harley friends all drank "Jack Black and 7-up". Get galvanized pails and put your stuff in there with a dark bandana lining and a couple of old-fashioned real glass bottles of 7-up. You can still find them at convenience stores. Maybe a pair of sunglasses "for the road". Maybe a CD of ZZ Top tunes?
