What is a good destination wedding budget?

For everything, resort, dress, gifts for guests (we are doing baskets for each room and gifts for 6 bridesmaids/ 6 groomsmen) and maybe a group activity or something. Me and my fiance have a household income of about 115,000 (but we are still paying off student loans!)

It really depends on the location of the resort, how expensive the resort is, the number of guests, and any packages they are offering you, etc. Ours was about $20,000 to $25,000 for 42 guests. We paid the resort about $13,000 for everything including great ceremony location, ceremony flowers, 3 bouquets, 4 bouts, 2 corsages, officiant, steel panist, banquet room with linen, silverware and glasses, buffet reception with great food wait staff and bartender, open bar for 4 hours with mid-range alcohol, champagne toast, 1-tier groom's cake, DJ, photographer, videographer, day of coordinator, and a 20% tip. The rest was our expenses including attire (purchased not rented), accessories, reception decorations, guest book, serving set, mostly edible favors, wedding cake, airfare, accommodations (we paid for attire, accommodations, and airfare for our wedding party) and wedding insurance. We cut costs by not having a limo, DIY'ing the programs, aisle decorations, and 6 centerpieces. Me and my bridal party of two each did our own hair and make-up. My gown plus alterations was about $1500. So, you could do it less expensively or more expensively. My suggestion would be to create an Excel spread sheet that itemizes the packages at various venues for comparison. That way you will be able to see more easily what you're getting for the price in each package and compare the costs. This will also be great to set-up your budget.

Is this a good gift idea?

Ok, my twin's birthday (and mine) is in two weeks and I have an idea and I need your opinion on it. I'm thinking of buying a small basket and putting candy, and $10 gift card to iTunes, a ring she really wants in it. I'm trying to think of something big to put in the basket but I'm stumped. Would this taste good after two days?

I'm also making cookies and freezing them so they stay fresh, could the popcorn be frozen with them? The cookies and popcorn with be placed inside plastic and tins, would that have any negative effect when I'm freezing them?

Ever heard of a "leave behind" gift?

I am a basket weaver and want to make small baskets with candy in them, for sales people to leave behind when they get turned down by a client. This way, the sales person can go back in a couple weeks and refill the basket for that potential client and get their foot in the door again...who wants this type of service? Who gets turned down the most or who has the hardest time getting new clients?

If the sales person goes back in a couple of weeks I'd bet the basket is empty and in the garbage.People turn down salespersons because they don't want or need what they're selling and it just irks people when they keep on persisting.

There are basketballs that light up when you're playing, go to sportsauthority.com or do a search for light up basketball. I got them for my teen niece and her best friend and they LOVED them, in fact everyone at every basketball game loved them and one was robbed, so if you do get it for him, tell him don't leave it unattended! It has a pin to turn it on and off and when it's in motion, the whole ball lights up, it's awesome and I think I paid about $25 or less for it. It is the size of a regular basketball. It's very unique and it was a HUGE hit!! You can also get him something that has to do with his favorite basketball team, maybe a shirt, basketball shorts, something for his room that has his favorite team's name, etc. Maybe one of those giant cut outs of his favorite player, framed poster of his favorite player, etc. I hope some of these ideas help!

Making/Selling porcelain dolls? Other ideas?

I have had a lot of time to think. I'm a stay at home mom, and I would really like to start making porcelain dolls as a hobby, and to sell for extra money around the house. Has anyone done this? Is there anything else I can do on the side besides candles? I really don't want to do gift baskets.

A memory box to puts her precious stuff in. Something that has the name of the city that your living in. A disposable camera so she can take pictures of the place she is moving to. Here's a big one for you, enough to give everyone lots. 10 cups dry powdered milk 4 3/4 cups icing sugar 1 3/4 cups cocoa 1 3/4 cups non dairy creamer, dry Just mix well, makes 15 cups. For one drink, put 1/3 cup mix in a mug and add 3/4 cups boiling water. Top with whipped cream or marshmallows. Enjoy!

What is the WORST gift you were given for Christmas? Why?

Mine was a basket of biscuits. What made it so bad? Well, silly me had assumed they were listening the numerous times i had mentioned i was allergic to gluten and wheat. Yeah.
