Paper Crafters: What are your favorite tools, papers, or embellishments?
I would like to make a holiday gift basket of supplies for a dear friend who loves scrap booking and card making. Any suggestions?
--------------------
Here are my likes: good 12" paper trimmer corner rounder good craft scissors nice selection of decorative paper various adhesives (glue dots, photo squares, tape runner...) decorative scissors Magic Matter (for scrapbooking) I consider these basic tools to have. Then there are the splurges and things on my want list: Ink and embossing powder, embossing gun alphabet rubber stamp set pre-cut mats (they come in packages) fun embellishments and stickers punches - cool shapes that you would get a lot of use from ribbon quilling tools and supplies more pens! Good luck! (Want to make a basket for me? lol, lol)

Baby Shower Gift?
I want to make a gift basket of necessities for my friend's baby shower. But rather than use a basket, I want to use a tin tub/bucket so I can stencil the baby's name on it. Anyone know where I can find one of these? Thanks!

A home center like Lowe's or Home Depot--probably in the garden dept. Or you could try an arts and crafts store like AC Moore or Michael's.

Wedding gift ideas?!?!?
I plan on putting together a wedding gift basket for my friend. My idea so far consists of using a laundry basket and getting small household items such as bath and hand towels (colors according to house colors), a few small kitchen items and so on. Anyone have other suggestions? I'm gonna use ribbon (wedding colors) and shrink wrap to top it off. All ideas are appreciated!! Thanks!
--------------------
You could fill in the gaps in the basket with some tins of spices or other kitchen staples such as measuring spoons, wooden spoons, measuring cups, swiffer cloths, trash bags, . Newly married people or couples just starting to set up housekeeping together don't always think about the little things.

Bridal shower gift help!!!!!?
I'm invited to my husbands cousin bridal shower. They didn't list that they were registered anywhere, so I'm lost with what to get them. Their a young couple, plain, with a 2 year old son. I would like to do a gift basket, but have no idea what I would put in there. I plan on spending $50. Any suggestions?
--------------------
$50 cash would be a better idea. . .or a gift card to a nice restaurant or gift certificate to a spa for the bride to have some pre-wedding pampering.

Starting a gift basket business...?
I have set up a website, describing the products, and everything... whats next, how can I get the word OUT there... I am in canada, and I prefer to only work within my town. help! im only 17! i dont know what to do next!

Good for you for starting your own business. If I were starting a gift basket business, I would try a few of the following 1. Advertise on Craigslist (free) 2. Advertise my website with Google Adwords local. Google lets you specify which area of region you want the ads display. Therefore, only people from your own area would see the ads and you wouldn't be wasting money with people from other area clicking on them. 3. You don't mention what type of gift baskets you are selling, but I would think of some places that might sell to the people who are likely to buy. For instance, would your gift baskets be appropriate for people in hospital? If so, take one or two to the hospital gift shop and ask if they would be interested in carrying them. They would take a cut of the price but its still a good way to promote. 3. Find out if your town has a chamber of commerce or similar business association or networking group. Get some business cards and attend these networking events. Be prepared to promote yourself and your business when you attend. 4. Find out if any local charities or churches are doing fund raising events. Offer to donate a gift basket to them so they can sell raffle tickets or use it in a silent auction. 5. Place an ad in your local newspaper. 6. Make up some brochures and distribute them to local businesses before Christmas. Businesses often send gift baskets to their major customers or clients over the holiday season. 7. Refer to the web site below for a new of tips for promoting your web site. All of the ideas are free.

Birthday present/ gift help? 10 easy pts!!?
choose 1, 2, or 3: 1.) pedicure basket (make it by filling it with the stuff at the store) 2.) Mall gift-card (this mall has EVERY store!!!) 3.) gift basket from bath and body works (already made, just pick-up and go) total spent on each- 30-30 dollars!! thanks- longest answer gets best answer (explain your choice!)!
--------------------
I would say that number 3 because you don't have to do much but go to the store and pick one out. Also it looks like you put some thought into it. When you get a gift card it kind of seems impersonal and not well thought about. It is a usually a gift that you give someone who you really don't know and/or care much about. If you care about this person, then you want them to think that you put some thought and well planned effort into what to get them. With number 3 you can personalize (or have them think you did) the scent of the product. Also, for $30 you can get a pretty good sized basket or gift bag. Nobody likes just getting a card with a gift card for their birthday. They want to open presents and the bigger the better. At least that is just me. I would rather open a present over a card. Good luck on your decision. Let us know what you decide.

Need the perfect gift ideas for a Mom...?
My best friend is giving birth to her son (my God Son) next month. This is her second child. We live a couple of hours away and I'll go to visit them in the hospital for the birth (and then will be staying with them later in the month for extra support). I'd like to put together a large gift basket for her, but I want ideas of what to put in it. I'd like the gift basket to be focused on her, her 4 year old son and her husband. (I'll also be buying other baby gifts for my God Son- just not putting them in the basket). What items should I put in the gift basket. I was thinking food items (that don't have to be kept refrigerated) and some other stuff, but I'm not sure what all I should get. Need your great ideas please :)

Can you help me with some Christmas Gift ideas?
I am trying to get a jump-start on buying my christmas gifts for everyone, but I'm having issues on what to get people. I don't have a tight budget, but I cannot spend over like $300 for everyone's combined. I'll describe as much what each one likes...Here's a list of the people I need to buy for. My Mom and Dad: I wanted to get a joint gift, like maybe a gift basket. I was going to get them a gift certificate for the movie theater and a restaurant for like a date night, but I also wanted to include a couple of small things in there with them. My dad is an avid motorcycle and football fan. My mom is into candles, orderliness, a lot of tv shows, but doesnt necessarily have anything that she's REALLY into. Both of them aren't too fond of technology. They are pretty tech-illiterate. Maybe help me find a couple extra little things to put in their basket? My sister: She's really into photography and her friends. She runs cross-country and is pretty sportsy...She likes partying with booze a little too much (shes 22). But shes not really that into movies or televsion or any kind of games. My Boyfriend/Fiance(22): He is really into video games, especially guitar hero and rockband, but those are way too expensive for me to buy right now. Loves Metallica, playing guitar, and the whole motorcycle/biker thing. He's a die-hard football fan, and enjoys movies a lot. He also LOVES sweets and McDonald's. lol. My best-friend/roommate(19):She is very into her video and computer games, such as SPORE and WOW. She also LOVES movies, the only thing I dont really know is what movies she doesnt have because she has soooooo many. She also has 4 cats, and loves them to death. She has mentioned wanting a new queen size bed set, but i cannot be buying a really expensive one, and Im not sure of where to buy one that stays in my budget. Her boyfriend/my other roommate(30): From what I can tell, he really likes his alcohol. He is also a Cowboys fan, but unlike my boyfriend, does care about other things. He isn't so much into the games, but he does like his movies. Him and my bff are always saying how they never have time for going anywhere or doing anything because they have no car and do everything they need to do while staying in this small town. My nephew(2 1/2): He's your typical little boy. He likes his toys, but he seems to have EVERYTHING! He has a lot of clothes and shoes, too. He likes Elmo, the backyardigans, finding nemo, etc. But I just do not know what new, cool things are out there for little toddlers right now. My sister and bro-in-law: They are just moving into a new house... I am think of maybe getting them something for their new home ( kind of like a housewarming gift but im not sure what to get). Or I could also just get them a gift basket. But I dont know what to include in it except...They love movies. But they aren't too fond of games or any sport in particular. My bro-in-law is really into salt water fish and even has a 50 gallon aquarium.... My grandmother(67): She is your typical gram. I do not know what she would like to have at all. She doesnt really watch movieslone since she is a...She has a dog, and she only plays pogo. I dont ever know what to get her! My fiance's family: I was thinking a gift basket for all of them, combined. But I do not know what I would include in it. Ideas??? Thanks a bunch.
--------------------
Maybe include some sports stuff in the basket for your dad (i.e. mugs, a hat, a poster, etc.) and for your mom maybe some cheap scented candles or a photo frame. For your sister, maybe an expensive bottle of alcohol. Something more than a typical 22 year old would be buying. Or maybe a bottle of wine. I would plan about $30 for this. For your boyfriend- a framed picture of the both of you, some homemade sweets, and maybe a vintage set of guitar picks (hello, ebay!!) Look for a bedset (if you mean blankets at such) at GardenRidge. If you mean a mattress, I'd say Craigslist. You really just need to get your BFF's boyfriend a card or something. Your nephew- maybe a talking Elmo doll, you can usually find them around $20-$30 at Wal-Mart year round Your gram- a framed picture of the whole family A fruit basket or holiday meats basket would be something nice for your fiance's family or your sister's family. One year we gave out movie baskets to all of our friends that were families. We bought large glass bowls at the dollar store and filled them with movie rental gift cards from the local video store, bags of popcorn, a 6-pack of Coke, and some of those cheap $1 movie theatre candies you can find at Walmart. Hope this helps.

Father's Day Gift Basket Ideas?
It's my husband's first Father's Day and he's going to be gone. I want to send him a special package with goodies. I was going to do a flat rate box that ships in 2-3 days. Any ideas on what to put in the box that might ship well? I am thinking oatmeal cookies, coconut macaroons, pictures, or a picture frame. Do you have any other good ideas? He loves food, beer, etc., typical man stuff.

What are some healthy desserts that can be easily packaged as a gift for Valentines?
I know the healthy dessert question has been asked a million times. The thing is, I'm looking for desserts that can be packaged in small ziplocks or plastic wrap to make a healthy dessert variety basket for Valentines. I know I want to make some muffins, maybe apple cinnamon. Any other healthy snack suggests would be greatly appreciated. :P

But then I was thinking about putting together a gift basket for her that has a lot of useful things such as bottles, bibs, and such. What would be the best gift?

i think u should do the gift basket with use full things because they probably had the perfect car seat and stroller in mind and you get them the wrong one.

gift basket business??
Has anybody made good money doing this? If so how much did you make and how.
--------------------
You can make good money doing this but you do have to market to any place that has high visibility. Give some of them to teachers, doctors, any friends that work in a place where they deal with a lot of public. You will see the orders will start coming in.
