Does anyone have any ideas on where I can buy mini wicker baskets in the UK? I need quite a lot so I dont really want to spend a fortune! Trying to make a start on my easter gifts!! Thanks!

We all seem to agree that pound shops are the best alternative. Depending on how many you need, you may have to go to more than one. Depending on what you might afford this resource has some lovely ones: http://www.calicocrafts.co.uk/acatalog/M… --That Cheeky Lad

Sweet 16 birthday gift ideas?!?!?

Best friend is turning 16 in 2 weeks!!! :) I want to stay away from jewelry and "kits" or baskets if possible (even though I will be getting 16 things- 1 BIG thing 15 small) My price range for the BIG thing is around 30-50. She is outgoing, talkative, loves volleyball and Virginia Tech, as well as the colors pink and blue. I REALLY want this to be special!

Take a look at these websites, they should give you some ideas. http://www.whatonearthcatalog.com/ http://www.findgift.com/ http://www.funtocollect.com/ http://www.spencersonline.com/

What are some great ways online to advertise my online store www.sevenbasketsgacrafts.com besides payperclicks?

Hi! I am the founder of Seven Baskets Gifts, Arts, & Crafts www.sevenbasketsgacrafts.com looking for ways to advertise other than pay per clicks is there anyone out there who might be able to advise me? Also take a look at my site. Any Ideas! I'm Open to positive creativity! Thanks
--------------------
First I have a question: Do YOU make the things you sell or are they made elsewhere by people you've never met ? If your products are from , say a drop shipper, then you shouldn't try this, but if you make them or have a company that employs people to make them exclusively for you ..... then I would suggest looking at craftgossip.com . You could send them a product sample of an item that is either NEW or simply your best selling flagship product. Locate the appropriate person there and ask for a product review. That could open a large audience to your site. Hope that helps. Mike P.S. If that works with one site , how many more highly trafficked craft sites are out there that would love to review YOUR products. P.S.S.Remember: that's the key - they must not come from China or a drop shipper in New Jersey (or wherever), they must be your own.

this a good valentines gift for my husband?

Ok im thinking of going to thi really good bakery in town and putting a basket togeather for him inside it will include specialty teas (he loves teas) muffins...stuff like that. I also want to put a 8x8 scrapbook togeather for him and buy him a video game and include both items inside as well. Then have them delever it to his job (cause i know he would never expect me to do that) is that a good idea? any other ideas are welcomed. thanks
--------------------
Your basket idea is great, but don't deliver to work. He would have to share the goodies and he might not want to. Also the scrapbook(a great idea) is personal. Have a great dinner, with stuff he really likes, but doesn't get too often and give it to him then. Don't forget a nice card.

anyone have an idea for a wedding gift???

My husbands brother is getting married and i want to make them a gift, id buy it but i want it to be more personal, and no they do not have a regestry, and i dont want it to be a recipe book, photo album, or anything thing that has to do with pictures of them....everyone does that and it gets annoying after a time. or if you cant think of something to make, it could be alot of different things bought and put together like a basket or something. i have no clue!!!
--------------------
How sweet and thoughtful are you! Get a lovely basket, and fill it with two beautiful crystal champagne glasses, a bottle of Moet White Star champagne, chocolate truffles, a relaxing CD, a white photo album, and scented candles with a crystal holder. You can use magnolias and white wedding flowers or their favorite silk flowers to decorate the basket. Wrap with cellophane and tie with a beautiful handmade white silk organza bow. If you have time and like to bid on ebay, buy some antique white placemats, napkins, etc to line the basket with. Depending on how well you know them, you might also include massage oil and an Erotic book for couples in the basket to spice things up. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_b/104-…

Gift Idea For A Great Teacher?

Okay, I'm in the 7th grade, and I have the BEST math teacher. He recently got married during spring break, and I want to get him something when we get back to school. He has two kids, a girl and a boy. His wife is very nice, so I know they wont be picky. I don't really want to spend money, because thats not exactly the ideal wedding gift. Something home made, is what I was thinking. My mom, a professional card maker, is helping me make the card, so thats taken care of. I just need a gift. I am thinking about getting them a bunch of flowers, in a nice basket. But i want something else to give them. A HOMEMADE gift, thats pretty, and anyone will love. Any ideas??
--------------------
Aren't you a honey? When I was teaching and got married, I got lots of cool gifts, but none were homemade! A great idea would be to decorate something - a vase, a clay pot, a picture frame - you can re-paint something you have at home, or buy a cheap one at a craft shop. Then go to town on decorating it with things you have just laying around... I think that would be really cool. Honest, he and his wife would love anything you got them, or made them.

Need your input?

I would like to know what kind of gift basket you would like to recieve and/or buy for someone else. I need unique ideas. Something that you would not normally see in a store or online.
--------------------
Well, you could make one yourself, and if that's the case, here are some ideas: Small samples of good coffees and teas with a mug... also chocolate covered coffee beans, covered fruits, and nuts... you could include biscottis, scone mix, jams and jellies (small jars of a GOOD brand like from william's sonoma)... Or, you could do fresh fruit, small breads or bagels, smoked salmon, dried fruit, cold tea bags (boca java sells them in CUTE tins and really handsome glass jars), and maybe even a gift card to a store like william's sonoma or crate and barrel. You could do a pasta basket-a pasta strainer spoon (those spoons with the teeth sticking up to pull spaghetti out of the water), jar of excellent sauce, a very good pasta, a kitchen apron, some good wine (red wine), and a nice bread... You could do a gift card basket with $15-$25 gift cards for places like jamba juice, crate and barrel, target, or any favorite places that don't require tons of money... A basket with favorite lotions, body washes, bath salts, and maybe an Ulta card would be wonderful. Also, gauge it on the person you're giving it to. Think hard about something they are REALLY interested in. Even a basket with things like books, magazines/subscriptions, journal, pens, etc... it's just got to be personalized. That is so special... EDIT: One thing we got for Christmas that was so cute: A metal popcorn bowl filled with candy, microwave popcorn, blockbuster gift card and two DVDs. That was FUN!

A dear friend of mine is starting university at Stellenbosch in a few days. I would like to send her some congratulatory flowers and a gift basket. The only problem is that I live in Austin, Texas. What are some good ideas to throw into this auction basket?

The theme is "Flavors of the Northwest" and so far we have a GurglePot (if any of you have heard of those), it's a water pitcher that looks like a fish and gurgles when you pour (made by someone in Seattle. We also have a gift card to a kitchen shop and a gift certificate for two at a restaurant in Seattle. Any ideas of what to add would be very appreciated!

Does any one have a charity of there own or one they help?

I was wondering what charity people have or what charity they help? Me and my friend make baby baskets for needy babies, and we bought all the kids at the place we help holiday gifts.
--------------------
That's Sweet. Yes, I do fundraising for Demelza House Children's Hospice by holding raffles, "Coins For Kids" campaign is really popular. "Stickers for Kids". I also encourage people to send me their old Christmas Cards for recycling so that I may send them to the Children. We've also sold Subway Sandwich Gift Certificates, etc. And send 3 checks a year. I've even got the guys at the post office saving their coins. Every 4th of July I have a picnic at my house, and buy a bunch of raffle prizes and the money we make goes to Demelza House. One year, I made them 150.00. I am always thinking up new ideas to help.

Gifts ideas for 25th birthday?

My best friends 25th birthday is in a few months. I am going to be out of town, so i thought it would be fun to put together a gift basket of fun items to be delivered on her birthday. Does anyone have ideas to celebrate a 25th birthday? I was thinking of fun "25" themed items, but i can't think of anything to put in the basket. So far I have a mixed CD of music that was popular the year she was born (1982). Any other ideas?
--------------------
How about a small photo album with some pictures from your past/present together? You can also write 25 memories in a card or 25 fun words or phrases that have meaning to your friendship and/or her life. Your music CD is a great idea! If you still want to do the 25 themed items...think about what your friend likes (hobbies, recreation) and give her mostly useful items. Or you could do a summer theme---with ideas for summer fun (frisbee, small sunscreen, lemonade packet, flip flops, fun candy, headband, sport socks, paper fan, lotion, small book, journal, etc).

how to do host or do parties for a bridal or baby showers?

I have a Gift basket Business n i make lovely baskets and there different. But since business is not always good i wanted to do parties, i was at a baby shower and brought some of my baskets and i raffled it off to the guess that came in 1.00 a ticket or 6 for 5 and the person giving the party bought a basket she raffled off n the money she got went to mom. So i was trying to get some ideas on how to do this business along with my baskets. I am real creative, i just needed to come up with a discounted good price for what ever i offer. any ideas any one? i was thinking of coming up with some game and maybe bring gifts for prizes. But how u put all that in the price. NEED HELP to advertise and market.
--------------------
Baby shower favors are usually placed on the table where the shower guests will be sitting. If you are not having a formal seating arrangement you can simply place baby shower favors in baskets and tell your guest to get their favors before they leave. A good rule of thumb when it comes to a baby shower is the more guests you have, the simpler the baby shower favors should be. Here is a list of baby shower favors that are always popular. Step 2Nice baby shower party favors can include some of the following: * Small hand lotions * Wrapped up cookies and sweet treats * Small scented hand soaps * Candles * Coffee mugs * Gourmet coffee samples * Herbal tea samples * Flower seeds * Ink pens that match the theme or color * Small notepads * Perfume samples * Bath beads * Small picture frames Step 3Remember, you do not have to spend a fortune to have nice baby shower favors. Many times you can purchase these items in bulk. If you are truly fortunate and you are hosting a small baby shower you may luck out and have someone donate items. For instance, if you drop by your local department store's perfume counter and tell them what you are doing, they may donate free perfume samples. Likewise, if you drop by your nearest bath and body store they may donate free samples of a new soap or lotion they are marketing. Step 4The most important thing you can keep in mind when it comes to baby shower favors is to make sure they are functional. You would not give out baby bibs or rattles to the baby shower guests. If you make sure the baby shower favors you choose match the personality and style of your guests, not only will your baby shower favors be a big hit, but you will, too. Don't be surprised if you become "the person" to go to for baby shower advice. The bridal shower, traditionally hosted by one or more of the bride's closest friends, celebrates a woman entering into a new phase of her life. Many shower hostesses begin preparing weeks or even months in advance of the party date. Along with the food, drink and decorations, shower favors are an important element of the event. These should be fun and capture the spirit of the party. Select favors with an air of romance, like bath salts, specialty lotion, small vials of perfume and candles with feminine, floral scents. Small make-up items like lip glosses, compacts, bottles of nail polish and pots of eye shadow are also popular and fun gifts. Check out the makeup gifts available at the Sephora website--if you want to save money, consider dividing up the items in a gift set and giving them out to different guests (see Resources below). Step 2Create favors at the party, which will also provide guests with a fun activity. For example, purchase inexpensive picture frames to be decorated with a variety of ribbons, buttons, raffia, small stones and other decorative items. Beaded jewelry makes another good craft activity. For all kinds of beads, along with supplies like clasps and silk thread, check out websites like ArtBeads, Auntie's Beads or Fusion Beads (see Resources below). Step 3Buy a disposable camera for each guest at the shower, giving them out at the beginning of the party so everyone can take lots of pictures during the celebration. Party guests can later trade prints and perhaps create a scrapbook of shower pictures as a special wedding present for the bride. Step 4Select bridal shower favors that reflect the bride's favorite hobby. For instance, if she raises purebred puppies, give key chains or magnets that feature her favorite breed. If she's a chef, give packets of herbs or spices or small kitchen utensils. If she can't function without coffee, offer guests a prettily packaged container of her favorite brand. Step 5Create a fun, inexpensive favor by burning a special selection of songs onto a CD for each guest. Try to pick songs that are meaningful, such as the bride's favorite songs from high school and college, songs that celebrate friendship and a song or two that has special meaning for the wedding couple. Personalize the CD by creating your own cover art, either on the computer or by hand. Step 6Tie the favors in with overall theme of the bridal shower. If you're throwing a racy lingerie party, you might select lacy garters as keepsakes. If your shower has a household theme, offer things like bud vases, mugs, measuring spoons, mini flower pots or dish towels with a fun pattern.

So here's the thing...?

I am 23, married, and broke. My husband and i live paycheck to paycheck. Our bills are much and our income is little. My question is does anyone know of a way to make some extra money without being illegal and not seeing each other. We both work in different towns both 50 miles away from where we live. We make and sell gift baskets and misc. gifts but it is still not enough. I know things could be worse but it is taking it toll on our marriage and our health.

Try starting an 'errand-running' business... Go to the super market for seniors who don't drive Take elderly people to their doctor's visits Mow their lawns, prepare dinners, lunches, walk their dogs Clean their houses. Write letters to their children/grandchildren for them, pick up their mail...Just help around their homes...You can either have a flat 'per task' fee or an hourly rate...

Does anyone know a good gift for a senior future mother in law who doesn't need anything?

I need something I can buy in a store because her birthday is today. She has a lot of stuff and isn't low on funds. She doesn't go out often because it is difficult for her so she prefers to stay at home reading the newspaper in front of the TV all day. Last year I got her a fruit basket, I have also recently given her a watch that didn't fit her, and I usually give her some sort of chocolate as well. I'm looking for something different. She doesn't want a plant or anything breakable because she is afraid the cats will knock it down. She has tons of books but she didn't like the last one I got her. So I am wondering if anyone has any ideas of a gift she might like? I was also thinking of something that would entertain her when she's by herself - like a 1 person activity. She also has a dog and 4 cats that she loves. So anything to interact with them might be an idea.

Choose any of the gifts mentioned below. Crossword book, sudoko puzzle. Toys from a pet shops for the dogs. Year-long Subscription for her fav. magazine starting from her b/day Home-pedicure, manicure or facial....?

I need name suggestions for my WAHM business/website == www.?????.com?

I need name suggestions for my WAHM business/website. Just a way to make money in my spare time. I'm hoping to do mostly internet sales. I make beaded Jewelry. I'm just getting started. I plan to also make other small crafts. I'm starting small. I may branch out into other areas such as sewing crafts or decrotive candle holders, gift baskets ect or I may not ever get around to doing anything but jewelry. Not sure yet. So I need a flexable name. Also will sale 2nd hand things: clothes, cloth diapers, toys ect DH is giving me money to set up a website . So I need a short name (preferably 20 characters or less) One to 3 words. (nothing with beads or baubles!) My name is Sonita. You can check out my (current website! LOL) 360 page ( http://360.yahoo.com/noggin_mama... )to see pix of my jewelry to help you get an idea what to call it. Feel free to throw out several suggestions! 10 points to the best answer even if I don't use it! 10% off your 1st purchase if I do!

I don't have a suggestion of what to use but I do have something not to use. From experience, use a name that is easy to tell someone over the phone with out having to spell it. Mine is www.4ahealthieru.com and I have to explain in carefully. Keep it easy. By the way, I sell Herbalife and am getting into New Vision.

I need a name for my business?

Im setting up a gift basket business, i have practically done everything but i just cant think of a name for my business! I do all sorts of baskets - but my main target market is the Asian consumer, as i make baskets for Asian festivals such as Eid, Diwali etc. Perhaps an asian word could be used? But i just dont know what. I wanted something around the word 'celebration' but 'celebration gift baskets' just doesn't sound catchy enough. Any ideas / suggestions would be appreciated.
