What is the best gift to give to someone at a bridal shower?

My cousin is getting married and I have been invited to the bridal shower. I do not know his fiance that well and was wondering what would be a good gift to give. I know that they are going to Hawaii for a week for their honeymoon and was considering a gift basket with lotions, sunglasses, etc. Any other ideas?
--------------------
Look at their registry, they picked a ton of things that they want on there!

What to put in a gift basket for an older couple?

They're my in-laws and in their late 50's. I've already bought some nice towels from Sears but I'm not sure what else to add. I want it to be aimed toward both of them (so if I include bath stuff I want it to be something they could both use or each have their own kind of). She loves cooking and baking but her health isn't the best so she cant have many sweets. He works a ton and loves to relax in the bathtub after a hard day. Thanks!
--------------------
Okay, how about his and hers shaving cream? Do a manly one for him and a fruity girly one for her...also you could do a pink razor for her and a manly one for him...throw in some extra blades. Other non-sweet snacks might work...pretzels? Popcorn? A nice scented candle and some matches they can use in the bathroom...a pink PedEgg for her and a blue PedEgg for him! A pink Snuggie for her and a blue Snuggie for him! Oh, a ladies' magazine and a manly magazine (Women's Health & Men's Health...or other magazines...but the same idea!). It sounds like a sweet idea and a great gift!

What would you want someone to give you as a gift to celebrate your new job/career?

If you were receiving a gift or giving one what would be some of the things that you would want? Just say you were making a gift basket what would you put in it say if you were giving to someone who just became a new doctor?
--------------------
At work, we have traditionally given anyone getting a new position funny but charming items related to that position. For a new doctor, say, we'd give candy pills, a toy medical bag, some No-Doz, a certificate for a discount on malpractice insurance (not real of course), and so forth. If you're not one to go the funny congrats style, a pen engraved with the new doc's name and title on it would be good, an engraved business card holder is also nice, fine wine, and gift certificates to favorite places are also good gifts. Hope this helps.

Where can I find a Gift basket for a man with a great mustache?

I'd like it to include mustache wax and combs maybe a trimmer. I know I can make one myself but I'd like it to be presentation quality and wondered if anyone knew a company that caters to this.

What are good things to put in a gift basket for mom?

This December I am leaving for a vacation 2 weeks before Christmas and my mom couldn't join me, so I wanted to do a little something. I thought about making a basket with stuff for her to do and use while I am gone, I have a general concept of what I want but I need specific items. It would be awesome if yall would be able to give me some ideas on what to put in there. Oh ya, I am going for a little bit of everything theme, if that makes sence. Thanks!
--------------------
Hey, that's a nice idea. You could maby put some relaxing bath salts and candles in the basket, some favourite home-made biscuits or sweets. flowers or a plant. ( a plant would last longer than flowers) a good book you know she would enjoy so she can keep herself busy whilst you are gone. Jams, cheeses, magazines. I think im gona make my mum one now too lol

Can I send a candy basket gift overseas?

I have a friend living in Australia. I want to make this candy basket gift and send it to him. I don't know anything with what can be sent out of the states and what can't. Am I allowed to do this? Also, if I am allowed, how will I keep the candies from melting and/or ruining? And is it expensive?
--------------------
First of all, don't send candies in hot weather. Wait until it is cooler in the Fall. Take it to a UPS Store in your area, and they will know how to pack it for you, and let them do it. Then, they will ship the package for a fee. Good luck!

What are some good gift basket ideas for my aunt who is in the hospital?

She's been diagnosed with Leukemia and has been in the hospital since right before Christmas. She's going to be there for a while more. I'd like to send her stuff but am not sure what to send. I do know she can't have any fruit or veggies and live flowers and plants are a no no. Any ideas would be really great. Thank you in advance. :) Oh, and she is out of state too.
--------------------
I would send her some type of kit of something you think she'd enjoy doing, like scrap booking or knitting. I'd be careful about lotions, etc, with fragrance. She will most likely have an upset tummy at times and some odors can be too much. Cards, stationary, envelopes and stamps so she can write people. Puzzle books if she enjoys those. You don't say her age but perhaps one of those little books that has funny trivia. I'm sorry about your aunt and pray she is well very soon.x.

What should I get my advisor for a gift?

My adviser is a really nice lady and she helped me out a lot throughout the last year. Next week Friday is the last time im most likely to see her and I would like to get her something nice as a gift. Im thinking about making a gift basket but I don't know what to put in it? My adviser is a older lady and is very active in her job.
--------------------
You could get her something to do with her job. like a nice engrave letter opener or desk plate perhaps a paper weight. The gift baskets a good idea and what you put in it depends on you budget. You could do movie tickets, popcorn, etc. or candles, chocolate and bath oil. Be creative.

how to make a gift basket for children ?

hi all, im thinking about making my step daughter a high school musical gift basket for xmas. shes 8 and a big fan. was going to buy one from usa and have it shipped but would cost over 50 pounds. does anyone have any good tips on how i could make one and what items i could put in it, where to get the plastic wrapping and basket etc.. from. any help and advice is mostly appreciated thanks
--------------------
Jemma I've made several gift baskets myself for my business as promo items during certain holiday seasons it's quite simple actually. You will need the following items... basket (possible to pick up new or at a thrift store), filler paper (this is just shredded paper, for a more put together effect I buy color printer paper and have the local library shred for me, but white works just fine.) Items for the basket (take the size of your basket into consideration, try things such as dvds, key rings, rolled up shirt with a ribbon around it, bubble bath. Shrink wrap (purchase this at any party supply or birthday store or a place like Wal-Mart.) Take the basket and fill the bottom 1/2 full of your filler paper then arrange items in basket, remember to push items down into filler paper as this will help them to stay where you put them and prevent them from shifting, then carefully place the arranged basket into the shrink wrap bag. Next gather shrink wrap at top and place a rubber band around to secure (leave a little loose to allow room for shrinkage). Lastly take a hand held hair dryer and starting at the bottom of basket direct the hot air onto the shrink wrap using a up and down sweeping motion until desired look is achieved. This project normally cost somewhere around 20$ to $50 depending on what you put into the basket.

Does anyone know where I can purchase Hamilton House Sugar Cookies that are not in a gift basket? ?

Does anyone know who manufactures these delicious cookies. I have been searching for months on the internet to find someone who sells these sugar cookies without being in a gift basket assortment. I received them in a gift basket from BJ's but would like to purchase a large quantity if I could find them sold separately. Others on the internet have been searching for these cookies as well. Any leads would be very helpful.

What should you do when a "free-with-purchase gift" is not shipped?

I ordered an a gift basket for my mother for her birthday. The items I selected and paid for were included in the gift basket; however a few of the items that were supposed to be included with every shipment were not there. These were small and insignificant items, but would have made the gift basket that much more special. Should I contact the company and try to get them to ship them or just let it pass because they were technically "freebies"?
--------------------
Call the company and explain that you never received the free gifts with your order and ask them when you can expect them to arrive. Most definitely keep after them until you get them. You can bet they really were not free with the price of the basket and the shipping charge so why let them keep something you already paid for.

What is a good birthday gift from Ireland?

My brother's birthday is coming up very soon, and I am currently living in Ireland and wanted to send him something from here. Also, his girlfriend's birthday is right after his, so I'll send her something too. What are some good Irish gifts to send? I wanted to make him sort of a gift basket with all sorts of different Irish alcohols, (Guinness, Beamish, Murpheys, Bulmers..) but I don't think you can ship alcohol easily. Any ideas? It's his 21st. Also, I'll probably get a small souvenir for my little brother too. Any suggestions on that? Thanks!
--------------------
I would definately recommend a claddagh ring for your brothers girlfriend, it's the most traditional Irish gift for women. tell her when she wears it, that the bottom of the heart should point towards the back of her hand to show she is in love with someone( this is very traditional ) if a girl is single then the heart should point towards the finger tip. http://images.google.ie/imgres?imgurl=ht… for your brothers, there are lots of souvenir shops around, the gift basket is a good idea but you don't have to send alcohol.

Tipping question...........Is it proper to tip delivery people that deliver gift baskets and or flowers to you

when you are on vacation , or otherwise ?
--------------------
I would say yes, if you have a few dollars on you. Since most gift baskets and flowers are usually a surprise, I've been caught several times without cash, when the flowers were delivered. It's a little embarrassing, but I'm pretty sure I'm not the only person this has happened to, so I'm also pretty sure the delivery person doesn't expect a tip from every basket or bouquet they deliver.

Edible Gift Baskets, anyone?

I live in brooklyn & i wanna order an edible arrangement of any sort.. ie, flowers, fruits, chocolate... for a doctors office as appreciation... im veeeery not familiar w/the store names, can anyone please tell me where i can order them??? Thanx a ton!!
--------------------
If you are looking for a more traditional basket, here are some choices in your area. The first one seems the most organized to me, but couldn't hurt to check the other one out; http://www.adorablegiftbaskets.com/brook… (Tip; look down at the bottom of the page for a link to a 5% off coupon. Also if you decide on Harry & David, which I'll get to in a bit, I'd web search to see if they have any current coupons. They often do). http://www.brooklynbasketsinc.com/index.… pricey but nice quality from what I hear; http://www.orchardfruit.com/ Also don't forget that many national chains deliver all over the country. I'm from NY but have lived in New England quite awhile now and last year got a lovely basket from a dear friend in the City. She used Harry and David, and it was GREAT with a lovely selection of fruit, chocolate and some other snacks; http://www.harryanddavid.com/gifts/store… Of course there are the edible fruit arrangements shaped like flowers that the other poster mentioned (fun to look at but like most of these things grossly overpriced), and I know we have a store that delivers cookie bouquets. If that's something you are interested in I can check to see if they are national. And have you considered sending a Junior's Cheesecake or 2 if you can get someone to run to the store for you? If I was on Brooklyn, Juniors would be high on my list cause they are soooo yummy!!! Hope this helps you some! ETA: If you use Harry and David be sure to include some Moose Munch. It's a fabulous popcorn with chocolate and nuts product only they make. It is SOOOO good! They have a few products specific to them that you might want to take a look at, but that one is especially yummy! I just checked here's a link where you can see all the many different types of Moose Munch's (and can send just them if you want lolol....told you they were really good!) http://www.harryanddavid.com/gifts/store…

How do I create an original gift basket to give a married couple during the reception?

I am the maid of honor at my sister's wedding and want to give them a themed basket during my speech. So far I am including a bottle of pledge so that they will always remember to "pledge" themselves to one another. A box of sweetarts so that they remember to enjoy the sour with the sweet of life and a penny so that they will never be broke. Any other ideas of items to include?
--------------------
Kleenex tissue so they can wipe away the tears of joy. A tiny calculator so they can learn to do their finances together. A bible so they can always have a good book to read. A new address book so they can combine their friends into one book. A small bottle of Joy so they will always be happy. A bar of Dove soap so there will always be peace in the house. A small box of Glad. You can probably find a lot just walking down the aisles of a grocery store!

What gift would you like to receive when you move into your new home?

To clarify, I'm specifically after your opinion on what you would like to see a real estate agent leave for you as a gift when you purchase your new home. eg - gift basket - public transport timetables For a gift basket, what kind of things would you like to see or just find useful. Thanks in advance!
--------------------
Maps, bottle of wine, copy of the city magazine (eg Philadelphia magazine, etc.), coupon for local restaurant, list of the agents favorite "romantic spots", basket containing fruit, cheese, wine, coupons, etc.

What is a good christmas gift for parent-in-laws??

NO I do NOT want to buy them any gift baskets, we are closer than that, but i just can't come up with anything!! Help, what's something creative??
--------------------
How about something for the house? A nice picture, anythng from www.williamssonoma.com, pretty bowls/plates, cookwear etc. Or try gift certificates to the movie theater, a book store or another store they enjoy. How about one-night at a hotel if you have that kind of cash with a dinner paid by you, or just a nice dinner you prepare. Another great website full of nice gifts is www.redenvelope.com. They may have nice robes/slippers with monograms and much more. Good luck!

What are some good 25th wedding anniversary gift ideas for my parents?

I don't want something like a gift basket or regular things like that. I was thinking something along the lines of using a wedding photo and putting that into some kind of gift. What gift can I give that might incorporate my parents' wedding photo in it? And something better than a coffee mug or t-shirt. Thanks!
--------------------
You could put together a collage of photos from the last 25 years, incorporate headlines from the papers, pictures of album covers they loved and other pictures that are very personal to them. You could also put this in a scrapbook with a separate page for each year. Silver frames also are very appropriate for the 25th anniversary. Have the wedding photo digitally enhanced and have it printed on canvas.
