However, avoid giving her a mirror or anything that could be used as one, as she will still be bruised and swollen at this stage. Her favourite flowers should go down well, as well as any books/magazines she likes if she is still in hospital.

What would be a good gift for my parents...?
Long story short, my little sister passed away a few weeks ago, and I wanted to do something special for them in memorium for my baby sister. I had thought of the ingenious idea of getting a star named after her; but further research showed that it is only a novelty item, and in fact is not official. I'm making a Recovery gift basket, what should I put in it?
My mother-in-law is going to have a hysterectomy next month and is going to be out of work for 2 months. If you want to avoid food, how about some basic things that he might need but might not have, like a little emergency sewing kit (safety pins, black and white thread and a few spare buttons) or a small alarm clock so he doesn't sleep in late for classes. It depends what he's studying as well, I was a music student so I ALWAYS welcomed clarinet reeds and manuscript paper, but obviously that's subject specific. Maybe he'd like printer ink if he's studying something like graphic design, a decent stopwatch if he's doing sports or a good set of compasses if he's doing engineering... you get the idea. Try to put something specific to his subject in there, to make it personal. Toothpaste, soap and shower gel is good as well, they get quite expensive when you're living on a grant, and you don't always remember that you need them when you first move because they're always just in the bathroom! And lastly... a book of stamps! they are invaluable, I was always running out of stamps for letters. And maybe some envelopes too. If it wasn't for her, I wouldn't have gotten into this new position which is a great step up in my career. I won't be working with her anymore, so it would be like a Thank You / Parting gift. Chocolate Chunk Raspberry Cookies Ingredients 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup lightly packed brown sugar 2 large eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1/3 cup Dutch process cocoa 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 (6-ounce) package raspberry creme filled dark chocolate baking pieces (recommended: Hershey's Premier Dark Chocolate Baking Pieces Filled With Raspberry Creme) Raspberry Icing, recipe follows Directions Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease baking sheets. With an electric mixer, beat butter and sugars together at medium speed until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla, beating well. In a small bowl, combine flour, cocoa, and baking powder; gradually add to butter mixture, beating until blended. Stir in baking pieces. Drop cookies by tablespoonfuls onto prepared baking sheets. Bake 12 to 14 minutes. Remove to wire racks to cool. Once cool, drizzle with Raspberry Icing. Raspberry Icing: 1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar 2 tablespoons milk 1 tablespoon seedless raspberry preserves In a small bowl, combine all ingredients, stirring until smooth.

What is a great holiday food gift basket for a family of 4 - mom, dad and 2 kids?
I was looking into something kind of sweet or salty. I checked out the popcorn factory, and fanny mae. I don't want to send flowers or a fruit basket. What I think would be best for them would be some kind of mixed treat basket. (like cookies, candy and popcorn...things like that) What do you suggest for a great basket, that is worth my money? I am hoping to spend $60 - and under. Not too cheap, but I'm not made of money either.

I'm making a gift basket for a friend and need fish related items?
Friend was in accident and home now..gonna make gift basket and he likes to fish what kind of fish items would be good...already thought of goldfish and gummy worms, fishing mags can you think of anything else?

Even the dollar store or WalMart has stuff to put in it. I was surprised at some of the stuff you could get at the dollar store! For instance, baby hangers, formula dispensers, wipes, plastic bags to put dirty diapers in, hand sanitizer, binkies, wash cloths, etc. And you could include a few other necessities too from other stores like Target or WalMart. I think it's the best idea. You could even throw in something little for Mom, like a candle or better yet... Chocolate... YUM!

Well of course I know what a gift basket is and how to make one. I wanted to make a small one for my friends but in a nice bag. What is a good way to make halloween gift bags without spending a fortune? usually candy around this time is cheap right? how can I make the actual bag myself?

You can take a couple of old holiday bags and put construction paper over the sides. Then do a bunch of cute drawings or put on some halloween stickers. Then write their names on the bags. How can I find Valentine Baskets wholesalers?
I am interested in shopping for Valentine baskets and gift items at wholesale prices in Florida but I do not live there and do not have a directory. If you have time, go to Chinatown and pick up a lot of New York "stocking stuffer" New York specialties - they're very cheap - a miniature Empire State Building, a snowball with a New York view inside, a pin that says "I love New York". Not a lot of places specializes in fruit baskets like that because it can probably go bad and the fruits that you are talking about are pretty seasonal and hard to get and are usually through international shipments. I would suggest for you to go to the place that prints Vietnamese weekly ad magazines called "Thang Mo" or "Thang bom"...at least they had probably help you out a bit. I knwo they specialize in these orders a lot in Vietnam but not much here since those are tropic fruits and all.

I have never used baby oil. It seems like it would be really greasy and messy! I do use a whole lot of baby lotion though. I use Johnson's brand and I put it on my daughter after her bath every night and every morning before I get her dressed. So that is definitely one thing you could put in a gift basket. Other ideas are: 1. diapers- Pampers Swaddlers are the best. They are very soft. 2. baby wipes- Pampers sensitive are great. 3. baby wash- again I like Johnson's brand 4. Diaper rash ointment- Desitin creamy is good 5. Vaseline- good for dry lips and dry nasal passages in newborns. Also good to use when baby poops as a protective skin barrier to prevent diaper rash. Oh and also good for lubricating baby rectal thermometers. 6. pacifiers- my daughter loves the Avent brand. Pacifiers also reduce the risk of SIDS. 7. baby brush and comb set 8. hooded towel and matching washcloth 9. baby first aid kit- you can buy them already made or you can make your own and include infant Tylenol, thermometer, baby nail clippers, nasal bulb suction, medicine dropper or syringe, baby sunscreen, Hyland's teething tablets, baby Orajel for teething, Neosporin antibiotic ointment, Mylicon gas drops. 10. teething toy 11. bibs and burpcloths 12. onesies 13. socks 14. something nice for mom such as a book about babies, good smelling lotion, warm socks, healthy snacks Have fun making your gift!

Below are some ideas of items to put in the basket.... but on the bottom of the basket i would put her fave. wrapped candies and then heart confetti.....not really confetti, just get some computer paper or something, cut them into hearts that are about 2-3 inches big and write down funny/sweet things on them....like inside jokes or a reason y u like her or a random thought or a random memory..... heres what to put in the basket: 1. a bag of coffee with a tag attached "to help with those long nights of studying" 2. a bottle of vodka/rum/any type of alcohol with a tag "to help recover from those long nights of studying" lol or something cute to that effect 3. a cd of songs (romantic and funny) that will remind her of home/friends/ you/memories...doesnt have to be sentimental...it could be a really great song u guys heard at a club once... 4. have fun and put a cute thong in it with a note "ill be expecting this when you get back!" What should i put in a valentines gift basket for my boyfriend of 2 years?
Im going to put together a giftbasket for valentines day for my boyfriend, i have some ideas what to put in it, but any ideas? Please HELP! :)

OK very cheesy but I did it for my guy at the time and he was 27 and absolutely loved it. I went to Wal-Mart and bought a cheap valentine scrap book kit with lots of stickers and little love trinkets ($4.00), in the craft section there are little wooden boxes with cute little buckles to close it ($2.00 or less), then I got glitter glue pens to decorate the box ($4.00). I decorated the box with the pens ( I wrote our initials on the top and a heart with a arrow through it) then cut little pieces of paper with messages about the things we have shared and cute messages about the things I love about him etc, and sealed each one with the stickers from the scrap book. I wrapped it in a little box, then got a bigger box and wrapped it in there then I took a big box and filled it with tissue paper that was sprayed with the perfume he loves the best on me then wrapped it! I think it's just enough of what you need, not expensive at all and very thoughtful. I hope I gave you a good idea.... you can always add this gift with something else if you want to give more. There's not even a card necessary for this gift!

I am attending a wedding this weekend. The couple registered for a couple of Longaberger baskets, I sell them so I got a basket for them at a discount. I want to put something in the basket but I am at a loss for what to put in it. The problem is, they are not the normal couple. They are a bit..odd..different than most. Lotions & Bubble baths are good. I would also throw in maybe one of those Tide stain remover pens - they work wonders for spit up and other various spills, lol. Educational books are good too, but I would throw in a funny one - like Belly Laughs by Jenny Macarthy (spelling?), which is pretty humorous for a nervous pregnant woman. Also, maybe some homemade coupons for various things, such as a free night of babysitting or a free homecooked meal. Well, I hope I helped! :)
