Ideas for a Florida themed gift basket?

I am wanting to put together a gift basket that will be auctioned off in a benefit auction back in East Texas for a friend of mine with brain cancer. I am now living in Florida so I thought it would be appropriate and very unique to put together a Florida themed basket to send them for the auction. Anyone think of things that makes them think of Florida? Or any other ideas of what to include? You don't have to be from Florida, it would actually be cool to hear what others think when they think of Florida.

if your friends like hemp bracelets you can make them some. hemp is very cheap, it comes in a lot of colors and its easy to find (hobby lobby, joanne fabric). its super easy and bracelets usually dont take more than 15 min each. you can add beads and get really creative with it. guys even like them too! home made gifts > store bought gifts :D

What should we put in our gift basket?

It has been put upon our hearts (my husband and I) to give food/care baskets to a families that are in need during this Holiday season. I'm looking for ideas as to what to put in the baskets, I know that we need non perishable food items but can use some ideas of other items that would be useful. At first I thought about a Target gift card, but that could be offensive as outright charity if they're on the proud side. I think you should put in it "luxuries" they might be cutting back on. Create a "movie night" basket with some DVDs, gourmet popcorn (moose munch!), some theatre box candy, some little age appropriate toys (maybe some colorful slipper socks for them to wear together). Put in a note that movie night is on you.

I agree. Making your own will probably be more cost effective, and you get to put things in there that you'd like to see in the gift basket. I would buy a variety of trial sized treats and buy a few toys and split them up between the two baskets. I would buy new bowls and use those as a basket and get plastic wrap and a bow to hold the whole thing together. Use a dog bone as a bow.
