I am starting a gift basket business. How much should i charge people?
I am looking to make gift baskets for children ages infant and up to 10 years old. Some will be grad toward children with special needs. Their will be a few things for baby needs, holiday, Special needs children. Non food items. I live in the usa. I will be putting up a web site for people out side of my area. I do not know what to charge for these gifts.

The best way is to look at other online stores and see what prices they charge. That will give you an idea of what people will pay. You may sell a bit cheaper or offer more for the same price. Later as you start to earn money you can adjust your prices. You need to work out what your items cost, and then you can go from there. Gift baskets take time to make look pretty so there is a big labour cost. Remember that the other companies out there are paying wages and materials costs and also make a profit. Just dont price yourself too high.

How do I start a small internet gift basket making business?
Hi! Lately for work, I've been making themed gift baskets to give as prizes. Everyone who I've given them to, along with my boss, says they're very well done, and that I have a real knack for it. I am very much a type B person. I love making the baskets, shopping for them, putting them together so much that I want to start a small, home-based business... you know, put up a website and start selling them online. The thing is, I have no money set aside and no idea on how to go about starting a website. I don't know the first step on starting something like this. You don't need a website to have an online business, you may start a blog (blogspot or wordpress) or a free hosting will do. You can sell them on your blog or at eBay. Just a start, you can sell them at your neighborhood, friends or families.

Making a homemade gift basket of meat and cheese? Need to know what I should put in?
I'm making my family each gift baskets, and I'm wanting to spend atleast $50.00 on each. Any ideas on what would be a good to put in a meet and cheese basket for my dad? I just don't know where to find the cheeses and meats and what are the best to use.

Put shelf stable meats such as summer sausage, peporini,dry salami etc... There are a few shelf stable cheeses that aren't as tack y easy cheese, but I can't think of any names, but a wedge of a nice sharp chedder or what ever. If you go some where with a Cheese Monger tell him what meats you have and he can recomend cheese and even a cracker or bread to go with it. Add in a loaf of crusty bread, a small cheese cutting board with knife set and so on.

How long before should I make cookies, cupcakes and brownies for a basket gift?
I'm gonna make some gift baskets for birthday and Easter for the same weekend (april 12th), it will be around 4 baskets with decorated cookies, cupcakes, brownies and candies and I don't want to make everything on Friday in order to rush with everything. Also I have another job during the day. So, how long could make all of this before without them losing taste or consistence? Can I make them 1 week before?

yes you can make them a week ahead , freeze them do not frost them until the night before they will stay fresh but may shrink a little but its normal . they will bounce right back after you thaw them.

What are some little things that I can throw into a gift basket for Christmas?

what are some great homemade christmas gift basket ideas that are very budget friendly?
I want to make up gift baskets as family gifts for my mom and dad, sister and her husband, brother in law and his wife etc. because we are on a tight budget this year. I want to start soon too cause I am pregnant and due on Dec 17th. I have some ideas; framed photos, homemade christmas ornaments from the kids, chocolate, cookies, but need more to fill them. I recommend doing a theme (every year) You could do a wine and cheese basket (with corkscrew and nice napkins) then another year do cookies and candy, (all home made or gourmet) then another year do a bath basket with personnalized embrodered robe and bath back brush and soap etc. just spread it out - good luck

Is it cheaper to make your own gift basket as compared to buying one?
I'm not trying to boast but I've been told I make really nice gift baskets. I have a bridal shower to go to but I'm short on cash. If I buy a gift basket and gift wrap from the dollar store, and buy some bath and body products from a local warehouse sale (which is good quality) will it be cheaper than buying a ready made basket?

What should we put in a gift basket for a raffle?
We will be selling tickets for a raffle and two winners will each receive a gift basket. Since the winners could be anybody, we're not sure what to put in the gift baskets. We don't want girly bath items or smelly-goods in case a man wins. We don't want wines in case a child or non-drinker wins. What could we put in the baskets that anybody at any age would enjoy? Anyone use the Disney gift baskets?
We are going to WDW and are considering a Disney Floral/Gifts basket for our room as one family member has a birthday during our vacation. I know everything at Disney is relatively expensive, but these gift baskets really do seem overboard. Does anyone out there who has gotten one think it was worth it?

We ordered a gift basket once, for our daughter's 16th birthday. We started off with the one called Mickey's Kool Snack, because we wanted the cooler. We didn't want the water & other expensive snacks that came with it. They let us mix & match from other baskets. We got an embroidered washcloth & towel set with Minnie on it, a photo album, pen & some snacks. We also added some balloons. They were very nice to deal with & our daughter loved the surprise. I'd say that if you really know that the person you're giving the basket too likes the items available then that's fine & if you can afford it. If not, then I would make a reservation at a special restaurant where you can celebrate the birthday person's special day or get a Disney gift card. WDW is a great place to celebrate a birthday. Have fun!
