A couple of friends of mine are getting married soon, and I need to get them a present, so I'm making them a honeymoon basket. They're going to New York, Venice and the Bahamas, so any ideas what I could put in it (necessities, travel guides, that sort of thing)?
--------------------
suntan oil, travel guides, map, journal, stamps for postcards, gift cards for things they may need like rental cars, etc. , beach towels. If you like silly things, put in 2 apples ( new york is the big apple) a book on pasta dishes ( venice) and flip flops or a recipe for the drink " sex on the beach" for the Bahamas. :)

Wedding gift question, can't attend wedding...?
I was invited to the wedding of a very close childhood friend whom I'm no longer very close with. Anyways to make a long story short, I cannot make it b/c it is in Texas and I am on the east coast. What is the protocol for wedding gifts if you do not attend the wedding? I wanted to get him and his wife a present anyways, but they don't have a registry or anything so I don't know what to get. Would a very nice gift basket suffice?
--------------------
If they have a home, a Home Depot or Lowes gift card would be better. If not a basket is a nice token.

What do I buy my boss and his family for Christmas?
I am at a loss as to what gift to get my boss. I work at a small business and am the only employee. I have worked here for 5 years and have a good realationship with him. I would like to buy something inexpensive that his family could also enjoy. He has a wife and two kids. Last year I did a personalized ornament and a gingerbread cookie gift basket. Any ideas would help. Thanks

A fruit basket or lovely Poinsettia would fill the bill nicely (no Poinsettia if he has cats, though). Baked goods are always welcome by most people. That's what I would do.

Where can I find some really cute customizied cosmetic pouches or bags?
I am looking for a medium sized cosmetic pouch or toiletry bag that I can have a logo put on. In addition to that I am looking for a larger item that I can use for a gift basket. It can be a bag, tote, box, can , tin or any stylish unique item a young girl would like to carry around or use as decor for a room tostore items in. Sort of trendy. These two items will be part of a set sort of.

Amazon has a lot of baskets. One of the first ones listed sent me a catalog yesterday, Wine Country Gift Baskets. It's probably not what you had in mind, but they had some great baskets. If you're trying to combine the three things he likes, you probably could ask one of these companies to customize something that would fit what you're looking for. Good luck.

What are some good ideas for a "family fun night" gift basket?
I have already purchased a small family game they can play together (and it's decorative, as well, so it can stay on the bookshelf), and have plans to include a gift certificate for their favorite pizzeria. They're really not a junk food family (eat very healthy), so I don't want to just overload with snacks. They've got playing cards, etc. I'm just looking for something altogether that will make for a quirky, fun gift for a family of three that needs a little more "togetherness" that doesn't revolve around Dad's laptop, or him taking control of the TV.
--------------------
Since you already given them a gift certificate to their favorite place to eat, you can also get a gift certificate to the movies, bowling if they have them, .... Spencer's has different things, but it is worth a shot, plus you might find some kind of gag gift for them. (to me it is more of a store for an adult, my opinion) why don't you try a party store, you might find something there. Another game if they don't have it, but I am sure they do, is Yahtzee. That is a fun family game, and if they take road trips, why not find something they can take along and play in the vehicle. AAA has some things for road trips. Go to a hobby store model cars they can put together or even try some crafts, and there are many puzzles to do as a family.

After a cursory review of your SEO metatags that appear on your opening webpage, we offer the following improvements: 1. The current metatags contains a domain name which is not a recognizable "brand" name and therefore, placement of more "generic" keywords would draw more search queries. And also where's the geographic target, i.e., city, state, country in order to limit your marketability especially when tied to shipping charges. 2. The current metatag is too brief and should be expanded to a singular sentence consisting of up to 39 words that best describe all your goods; 3. The current metatag contains spamdexed/duplicate "keyword" entries and the total number of entries exceeds the 15 entry limitation. Use of spamdexed/duplicate entries is considered a Black Hat SEO technique and most search engines will seriously penalize your website with a low PR [Page Rank], especially google.com. Hopefully, you will consider the above suggestions in a timely manner and incorporate these changes onto your opening webpage. Good luck!

What's the worst Christmas gift you have received so far?
I received chocolates from 3 different friends so far. I appreciate their thoughtfulness BUT they all know I am allergic to chocolate. Hello? I brought them to work and left them on our company kitchen table for everyone to eat. My seond worst gift (so far) is a HUGE basket of lavender lotion from a good friend. This person also knows I have skin allergies and cannot wear anything that contains a fragrance. What are these people thinking? What a waste of money.
--------------------
They're not thinking, and that's the problem. I get a lot of skin products that I am allergic to as well, and I get them from my in-laws who know very well that I am allergic to some of the ingredients. (I think it's just their way of letting me know that they don't care.) I also get a lot of ceramic bowls from people for some reason, even though the givers know that my apartment is full of ceramic pieces that I have made! One of the more disappointing gifts I got was when I was 12. My parents gave me a pink bike even though they knew I hated the color and I didn't want a bike. My step sister wanted one, and so they gave me the exact same thing instead of bothering to see what I wanted instead. Before I even got to open up the gift, which I had to assemble, I got the annual big lecture about how horrible I had been all year and that I didn't deserve any of the gifts. I was also told (ever year) that it was more effort for my parents to return the gifts that it was for me to open them, and that's the only reason I got anything. (I can't really recall any of the other gifts I have received from my parents because the lecture usually overshadowed anything else that happened that day. I think the only reason I got the bike is because I stopped asking for things by the age of 10 because I knew I didn't deserve to get presents anyway.)

What do you think about a raffle at my baby shower?
What does everyone think about a raffle for a big gift basket like where everyone buys a ticket and the money goes to the baby since its my baby shower and at the end of the shower raffle off a basket full of things like candles soaps ETC? How much should the tickets be?
--------------------
First of all, if it's your baby, you shouldn't be hosting or planning the shower. Someone else should be throwing the shower and planning the activities for you. That is Rule #1 of shower etiquette: you DO NOT throw your own shower (especially for a second baby). Secondly, any kind of "fundraising" activities at a party, including money trees, cash raffles, etc., are very tacky. People are already coming to the shower and bringing you gifts to help you get started. You shouldn't be hitting them up for cash, too. The idea of a "diaper raffle" is one thing, but cash? Uh uh.

Gift exchange dvd ideas?
My friend is having a gift exchange at her party and asked everyone to bring a $15-20 gift. It has to suit both male or female. I thought about either a gift card, a food type gift basket, candles or an oil room diffuser kit or a dvd. We are all between 21-30 years old. Anyone have any better ideas or suggestions? What are some classic dvd's that everyone loves in this age range? I thought about Elf, A Christmas Story, an Adam Sandler flick or Goonies. Help! Happy Holidays!!!!!
--------------------
Elf would be great. It's fun year-round Goonies is an amazing DVD, because it's stuffed full of extras, including commentary from most of the original cast. And anyone who grew up in the 80's (or at least part of the 80's) is gonna love getting Goonies. Gremlins is another holiday classic for our generation. Other flicks anyone from that generation would probably like: Breakfast Club, St. Elmo's Fire, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Pulp Fiction, Goodfellas. Another idea: funky candlesticks (with candles), fun book (Take Me To Your Leader is pretty freaking hilarious); The Book of General Ignorance is pretty cool, too); fleece throw blanket; Nerf gun (these are so much fun--I'm 31 and I have one. It's a great stress reliever!)

What type of license/permit do I need for an internet business reselling products?
I will be starting a business very similar to a gift basket business. I hope to purchase a variety of items wholesale and then resell these items marketing it to a specific group. I know that I do not need a business license because I do not have a physical store front. Where do I go and what do I need to do as far as licensing? Please help....thx
--------------------
Congratulations on your new venture. In order to purchase most items wholesale you'd need a tax id. To get it, you'd need to legally register your business. You have options in opening as a Sole Proprietor, LLC or Corporation. All 3 have different requirements. I've started as a sole proprietor, which is the easiest to do. I figured that I can always switch to a different form later. In order to be a sole proprietor i had to go to my county office and apply for licence $5, then post an add in a local newspaper announcing the business for 4 consecutive weekends $30-$50 total, depending on the paper. County office gave me the list of appropriate newspapers. Once that was completed, I went to my village clerk to apply there, they have an annual fee $55. Supplied with all of the above I went to the states tax office and applied for a tax licence. Received it in no time and I was ready to go. My suggestion is to apply for a tax licence once you're all set to run the business. Most likelly you will have to report on your collected taxes on monthly basis. Even if you have not sold anything and have not collected any tax. If you miss to report, you'd have to pay a penalty fee. So why give yourself more work if you're not quite ready. Just a thought. Good Luck!!!

Struggling with making a bow with wire ribbon?
I am making gift baskets for the holidays and I'm in the final stages of the process. The baskets that I am using have side swing handles which has made it a bit more difficult to shrink wrap. I am also using some gold wire ribbon that is fairly wide to make bows for the basket handles. After watching countless tutorials my bows STILL keep turning out like a kid trying to tie their shoelace. What am I doing wrong? Have ANY suggestions? Please help!!!
--------------------
Tie your "like a kid" bow. Open (expand) the loops as much as you can, making them approximately the same size. Trim off the ribbon ends. THEN, take a nice piece of ribbon and tie it directly over where your ribbon is tied together, making a nice fat smooth surface. Just take a piece of ribbon, loop it over the front, tie it in a knot on the back side of your bow, and trim.
