what is a good different and unique present for my children's grandmother from them?
my children are 2 & 3 and Im tryin to find something special that they can give her for christmas. We usually do the perfumes and baskets or pajamas and slippers we even did gift cards. I want it to be something unique this year. Any ideas?

You can get her smth really original and sentimental that will remind her of your kids everytime she looks at it: a 100% hand-made painting from their favorite photo together. I've discovered this website that turns photos into beautiful hand-made paintings and the prices are really affordable too. Here's the link: http://www.paintedsouvenirs.com ..Good luck on finding the right gift!

I would like to start my own business..but....?
I don't know which of my interests I should pursue. I like to bake, make jellies and canned goods, make gift baskets, I'm known for my fresh baked breads in my family and I like to collect and test recipes. I've tried writing a cookbook but can't get it published, I know anything I do with food I need to go trough the FDA...but I think that costs money to go through them...any ideas what I can do?
--------------------
I have two suggestions for you: 1. Start a gift basket business. Start small by selling to friends and family, then branch out and obtain some corporate clients. 2. Write a cookbook and set it up as an online ebook so that you don't have to worry about a traditional publisher. Setup a website and sell it through Clickbank.

I ALREADY KNO ABOUT: GIFT BASKETS JEWLERY ETC
--------------------
well do anything creative. Teens mostly like small stuff or anything that will fit in a locker so try and use your creative side ad go small, not big. Like maybe a magnet, or something that will help us remember our stuff for class. For Adults I would say paint a funny picture of their family to get the money, most of the time, if you are good they'll pay more.Good luck!

I'm making a Martini themed basket.. approx. spending is $50?
I'm making a martini themed gift basket and have about $50 to spend.. What should I put in the basket.. ? I have Indian's club seat tickets(donated) in the basket, but that's about all.. The basket is raffled off for charity... Thanks..

Think about what you need in a Martini. A couple of martini glasses (maybe $3-4 ea), a martini shaker/w strainer(3-10 bucks), 1 small jar of green olives (no more than 3 bucks), some kind of Gin ($12-30), a small bottle of vermouth (???). Perhaps a martini "handbook" (could vary). All this together should definately not be more than $50 and are things that you can get at your local liquor store or at liquor outlet like Specs. The gin doesnt have to be anything expensive although many gins can be. Good Luck with your raffle.

Why should I manage Information?
If I am to be an owner for a gift basket company, why would it be important for me to manage information as a resource?
--------------------
To be able to track inventory, customers, suppliers, who owes you money, who you owe etc.

If there is a "Michaels" near you...go in..they have everything you need to make a basket and wrap it. Very reasonable pricing too. Then, tuck in the items you've gathered and off it goes. Value Village or Goodwill always have a large supply of baskets- give it a good cleaning with dishsoap and rinse well in the shower. Your Mum will be thrilled! Nice daughter!

Gift for Elementary School Staff?
I work as an Instructional Assistant. The certificated staff at the school ('real' teachers, etc.) gave out gifts to the classified (myself, kitchen staff, janitors, office, etc.) employees. Some recieved coffee baskets, cookies, etc. I recieved the "grand prize", a stocking stuffed with gift cards to various stores (Wal Mart, Sears, Burger King, Safeway, etc.) totalling about $300.00. I feel I should give back at least 10 - 20% in the form of a gift many can use, like something for the staff room? A coffee set, water service, I don't know. This is the first year the staff has done this, as well as my first year working there. I am so touched and flattered. The Principal and other staff said to use it for my three kids, but I feel I should give something back to all of the other hard working classified staff. Any suggestions?
--------------------
I'm a teacher and I say - please please please keep it. Don't buy anything for the staff room - use it for yourself and your kids. You guys are so underappreciated and you deserve it! My support staff deserves the best and we throw them a big party and buy them gifts too because often they are the hidden workers. Often they don't get support or treats from the parents during teacher appreciation week. Christmas time, I need to usually pull my car up because I have like 5 loads of gifts. Support staff don't get this. Take the money, enjoy it. Write a thank you card and place it on the staff room table with a tray of cookies - better yet fruit and veggies cut up. That will make them happy but it would make me really sad if we collected money and somebody felt obligated - don't buy anything big for the staff room. A card is thank you enough.

Does smoked cheese need to be refrigerated?
I am making a wine and cheese basket for a Christmas gift. I bought some smoked Provolone cheese (which was in the refrigerated section at the store) and I was wondering if it really needs to stay cold. Can I prepare the basket and wrap it now without refrigeration?
--------------------
simple answer YES...if its a real cheese and not a processed cheese like Velveeta....it will develop mold if not refrigerated

Question about a bridal shower gift.
Ok guys I am attending a bridal shower this saturday and I need your help on how to wrap my gift. I am making a wine basket and I have bought a wine tub (off of her registry), a cork screw, two wine glasses, and a resealing kit thingy. I plan on buying a bottle of wine to throw in there as well. Now my question is...there will be extra room in the tub once I put everything in, so how do I wrap it so that the things do not move around and possibly break. Also any ideas on anything else I could buy that is cheap to include in the basket would be great! Thanks guys!!!
--------------------
go to a craft store and find some of that colorful shredded paper or easter grass stuff to put in the bottom of the tub. they should also have clear or colored plastic wrap for you to put around it and tie with a ribbon at the top

This is kind of a silly question, but...?
What are you supposed to do with baby oil? My older child is 4 and I've still got two bottles of the stuff that came in gift baskets when she was born. It's kind of greasy to use for dry skin and lotion seems to work better. I don't see where it would be any use for diaper rash. What's the point of the stuff?
--------------------
I used it on my legs after shaving! LOL But i think you use it on their hair! Some babies get cradle cap or just really dry heads! I believe it helps that, because you dont' really want to put lotions on their heads eh?

What do you think of this birthday gift for my boyfriend?
He's a beer drinker so I was thinking of putting together a basket of imported beers. What would you think if you got that gift? I'll probably cook him dinner too. He's big into electronics too but I have no idea what to get him when it comes to stuff like that.
--------------------
Wow. A basket of imported beers. You are the perfect girlfriend. He will be so incredibly happy.

Good non-desert things for a food basket?
I am making as a gift a gift basket of baked goods, and home-made non-perishables. I need some non-desert things to make that can last a while. Also, I would like a recipe for watermelon konfyt that has no pickling lime. Also, some non-edible ideas to go with would be great.
--------------------
flavored oils. You can flavor with garlic, herbs, hot peppers, citrus. You could also make quick bread mixes and bag or jar them so the recipient can make them later.

What should I get my 20-year-old boyfriend for our 6-month anniversary?
I'm thinking I might make him a basket with movie gift cards and candy and the movie we saw on our first date (Iron Man aha). And then put it all in one of those tubs that you can buy at Blockbuster and stuff. Is that a good idea, or is it too corny? Any other suggestions?

Girls should never waste their money buying boys gifts. THese relationships come and go like the wind. Put your money in the bank and save it for yourself. Believe me, with this economy the way it is, don't blow your money. If you're married, its a different story. This 6 month anniversary is a big deal to YOU, not to him. Boys don't care about that relationship muck. Just drop it and don't bring it up again. Only if he brings it up, then let him buy YOU a gift. Teddy bears? OMG! what a huge waste of money.

A guy in my office I don't know well has a wife who miscarried a 7 month term baby.?
People who work with him directly are collecting donations for a gift basket and flowers-- how much is appropriate to contribute?
--------------------
I'd say $10 should be quite sufficient from your side of the donations. I really extend my condolenses to the man and his wife. Hope they recover from this loss.

Gifts for Employees?? What do you want to receive this year?
We already are doing the following: - Christmas Party in early December(dinner theater comedy show, guest invited) - Cash bonus - $20 Gift card for their favorite grocery store (in lieu of turkeys, we don't get a great response when we give turkeys anymore) - Hallmark ornament customized to their personal hobbies - Custom snowman wall plaque (www.familysigns.com) - Rainy Day Fund jar with a $50 gift card inside to their favorite store - Continental Breakfast on 12/22 Not sure what else to give them. We always give gift baskets full of something. One year it was a breakfast theme with about $100 worth of stuff in it and a gift card. One year we did digital cameras. We thought this year we'd do 5-6 gifts around $10-20 each for each employee and hand them out one at a time (sort of "santa" style) under the tree. We only have 8 employees so it is managable. Any ideas? We want to keep it personalized & useful for everyone - most employees are in their 40s or 50s.

Where can I find dropshippers in canada?
I am specifically looking for gift basket dropshippers...

Usually you have to negociate it with each company. Do not purchase a list of dropshippers, they are usually overpriced and outdated. They are basicly a ripoff!

If creased, hang in bathroom with steam. ESSENTIAL Items - Sleepsheet (Silk) Mozzie net, Maglight Torch (xtra batts), Inflatable Pillow, Ear Plugs, Wet Wipes, Mini 1st Aid Kit, Locking D Carabiner Keyring, Hanging Toiletry Bag, Adapter Plugs. - NB Take copies of all ID Docs, Passport, Visas, Immunization Card, Medical Allergies eg, Pennecillin - Travel Itinery - Give to family and keep one in Backpack, another in a different bag (Give to relevant travel agent - no harm in being to cautious) A lost passport can be hell. Hope this all helps to ensure your employee has a safe and wonderful time. Contact me if you need more info. Cheers.
