I am starting a gift basket and party supply business and I need help coming up with a catchy name?
I am starting out small first..to see how its going to work out but I want to get everything together by Christmas so I can start with the next big holiday which is Valentine's day! I also want to do gift bags and baskets for weddings, birthday parties, graduation parties/ and just a place where people can buy supplies for events. I live in a small town that doesn't have much of anything. Right now im working on flyers and business cards and i need a name. My name is Roshanda.. and if anyone can give me some ideas i would appreciate it.
--------------------
Roshanda, Unlike the previous poster, I would NOT recommend putting your name in the business name. No matter how pretty it is, it's a waste of space. A good business name is one that is as short as possible, while still being descriptive and catchy. It's important to note that "catchy" doesn't mean cool or unique, it means something that's easy to remember. If you're selling gift baskets and party supplies, you'll want to have a name that makes that very obvious to anyone who sees it. How many times have you seen an advertisement displaying the name of a business and thought to yourself "Ok, I saw your ad, but what do you do? How can you help me?" If people see your name and it jumps out at them WE SELL GIFT BASKETS AND PARTY SUPPLIES then anybody interested in gift baskets or party supplies will be likely to remember your name, and maybe look you up when they get home. On the other hand, you could have the absolute coolest name in the world, but it will be very ineffective if it isn't descriptive. Example: I own a business that develops web applications and web technologies for clients. One of the main things we develop are called "web crawlers" or "web spiders" I named my business "Spider Web Technologies." It's descriptive, it's relatively catchy, and it's relatively short. Additional note: Make sure you can get the domain name of whatever name you choose. You may not be interested in selling online now, but you probably will be at some point, and it would stink to have the name "Basket Party" but not have basketparty.com available.

How Can I have lots of people visit my website? Its a Catering Company/Gift Basket Online Store?
www.threechefsgourmet.com
--------------------
Hey...this is a great idea to get started. I saw the link and took a look...nice site. Another thing you might try to do is some Internet advertising. I am not sure how you'd go about doing that...but an ISP (Internet Service Provider) more than likely can help you figure you it this would be a cost effective way to market your business. I also know people who have done MySpace pages (free) for their business. Another idea might be to put your website in the telephone book if yours has an section for website business (my local area does and instead of phone numbers they list the web address). Well, hope this helps! Good Luck!

Do you have any great Gift Basket Ideas?
I thinking about making gift baskets this year for Christmas for my son's great grandmothers.(4 in all) I only have a few ideas and I'm hoping someone could help me out--it would be great to start shopping now for some things. 1 grandmother is Hawaiian so I want her basket to be "Hawaiian themed" (She is a VERY PROUD HAWAIIAN! LOL! in case you're wondering!) Here are some ideas I have: mini-calendars/lotion/candles/a framed photo of my son Can you help me out? The more unique and personable they are--the better! Thanks in advance!
--------------------
A painting or drawing from your son, home made cookies, ornament with the year, name, etc, candy, chap sticks, puzzles, word searches, sewing supplies, empty picture frames, or personalized key chain. Hawaiian theme-Hawaiian calender, hibiscus shaped candles, and or Hawaiian candies. Google Hawaii themed gift baskets and a lot of websites will come up and they have a lot of good ideas. Also go to personalcreations.com and they have a lot of items that you can personalize any way you want. They even have calenders were you send them your photos and they make the calender using the photos you sent to them.

Any suggestions on half price restaurant gift certificates?
I have heard of offers for half price restaurant gift certificates. Example: Pay $25 for a $50 gift certificate. I don't want to fall into any type of holiday scam. Does anyone have any suggestions for restaurants that sell these on site? Or know of a REPUTABLE website that does? Please let me know. I would really like to create "date night baskets" for my parents and in-laws. Thank you!
--------------------
restaurant.com is one. But be aware - you are purchasing more of a coupon, than a gift certificate - they come with a lot of restrictions. Someone else posted a question about giving these as gifts - and the consensus was that it was kind of tacky and too much of a burden to put on the gift recipient. So it would be better to pay regular price for one outright from the restaurant itself.

I need to decorate a wire basket, what unique ideas can I use?
I need to decorate a wire basket. My company is having a fundraiser for an employee who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. To participate in the fundraiser you could purchase a basket for $5 then it was up to you to decorate it, transform it, anything goes. There will be a silent auction of the baskets and they'll be judged. I want to do something unique, but can't think of a thing. I was hoping for ideas other than a gift basket or floral arrangement. I can paint it, cut it, hang things off of it, anything, but my mind draws a blank. My basket is around the size of a hanging basket most often used for flowers. Can anyone help me?
--------------------
Fabric strips! My daughter's art class did this with plastic baskets. They took patterned fabric and cut it into strips about 1" x 3". They tied the strips around each section of the plastic mesh, making the outside of the basket 'fuzzy' or 'fluffy'. (Tie several strips to each section) One child added thick yarn, like we used to wear for hair-bows, randomly through her pattern. Count on lots of people weaving strips of fabric in and out, so this texture would be more unique. A cute idea would be to make it shades of pink, and fill it with pink cosmetic items (nail polish, emery boards, lotion, etc.) Second idea: Use pink and/or purple tulle (nylon net) for the fabric strips, especially if you can find sparkly stuff. Fill the basket with fairy-princess items (tiara, hair things, sparkly play makeup) for a little girl.

Gift basket for expecting mother?
I want to send my sister a gift basket every month while she is pregnant. I have never been pregnant, so I have no idea what to get her each month. Something mostly for her, not the baby yet. That will be her gift at the shower. Right now she is 3 1/2 months. I don't want to ask what she wants. I want her to be surprised. For women out their who have been or are pregnant, what would you really enjoy at 4,5,6,7,8, or 9 months? Something small enough to mail that is not too expensive please. Thanks for the help!
--------------------
Lots of belly cream! Comfy PJ's, slippers, a cute maternity top, preggie pops, a relaxing candle, a good foot moisturizer, a food (like chocolate or candy) that she might be craving, the list goes on and on. Anything that will pamper her during her pregnant months.

My SIL is having a baby mid Nov, I dont know when we would be seeing the baby, should I send her a gift now ?
I was thinking about sending a gift basket abt $60-70 now and then when we see them in person I will give her something again for the same price. My budget is abt $150. This is hubby's only brother, older than him and the first baby in the both families... I am trying to cenceive myself, so its possible that if we succeed soon we might not be able to see their baby girl for sometime...
--------------------
That sounds good. When you buy something for baby try to buy mom something too. Moms need to feel special as well and know that they are still thought about. Buy her some relaxing body wash and lotions. The healing garden makes good ones, or anything lavender scented is relaxing. Things like that. She will really appreciate it if you get her something as well as the baby.

Is this good customer service from the largest Fruit and Gift Basket/Tower company in the world?
I ordered 6 gift baskets that were on sale from one of (if not) the largest fruit basket/gift tower companies in the world. Two baskets were delivered last week and the other employees were told theirs should arrive soon. After not receiving them today, I called the company and was informed that they no longer have any more of the deluxe baskets or anything close to the size. "But" I was told, they could substitute their "deluxe gift tower of treats" instead. The baskets i ordered were 18lbs of fruits, nuts etc and were originally priced at $340.00. The substitute has only 1/3 the fruit (pears and apples) and is just candy and popcorn that sells for $149! And we would have to still pay the same $100 for the substitute! Furthermore, they never even called/emailed etc to inform us to tell us of the mistake! We have been ordered with them for three years spending about $800 a year. Is this good customer service? I feel they should offer the equivalent discount on the substituted item OR should send the tower of treats along with a nice gift basket to fill in for the difference since other office employees will see the huge size discrepancy.

I agree... that is terrible. You need to call their home office and talk to every executive you can get hold of, and don't let up until the situation is remedied. Consider talking to your local TV consumer watchdog reporter as well.

Which name do you like for my gift basket business?
I am starting a gift basket business, but cant come up with a name. My main market is the Asian community, but I will be doing baskets for all sorts of festivals and events from Christmas to Diwali. What do you think of the following names for my business - (Please note the first two have the tag line underneath, the others don't have a tag line) 1). Eastern Hampers - Unique Gift Baskets with an Eastern Touch. 2). Asian Occasions- Gift Baskets for Festivals, Holidays & Cultural Events. 3). Asian Delights 4). Timeless Expressions. Or perhaps some other suggestions? Full points to the best answer so please give some sensible answers. Thanks for your help.

Timeless Expressions. That way if your business grew you could expand your products with out being tied down by the name.
