I'm spearheading a gift basket raffle for my local animal shelter, and I'm making about 5 bags to raffle off. They are all going to be animal-oriented baskets, and I need a few ideas to fill them up. I have some "goodies" with the shelter's name on them, like pens, dog leashes/collars, and little hand towels, etc. I was thinking about putting in some bags and/or wallets, cell phone cases, that look like this:https://shop.theanimalrescuesite.com/sto
Would that be corny? What are some other cute things I could put in the baskets?

Is it appropraite and/or necessary to bring a gift to a closing on sale of a house?
We are, admittedly, emotionally attached to this house, it will be very hard to let it go. Yet the buyers are lovely people and seem to love the house as much as we do. We won't be able to attend the closing, our agent is taking care of it for us. We would like to send a small gift basket, kind of a housewarming gift, maybe to the closing, or to the house after they have moved in. It is our nature to be giving people, but we don't want to make anybody uncomfortable for not reciprocating, or feel obligated in anyway. Is it inappropriate to send a gift? How about a greeting card?

Where's a good place to get a gift basket?
I want one that's good quality and everywhere I go, they all look like junk. I really want to give some nice ones out for Christmas.

My favorite place is http://www.blackriverbaskets.com they are great! They aren't the largest company but their baskets are second to none, you always get what you're expecting if not more! If you get the chance, look at the cocoa concerto, that's my favorite! lol: I just noticed the person above me put them too! that's hilarious, aren't they wonderful?

I need help on a new name for a gift shop?
The name I am looking for in a gift shop name that has never been used. My gift shop is a personal gift basket and gift shop. I am also, looking for the name to be something artisan like and personal.
--------------------
It is hard to find a name that hasn't already been used... you can use your own name and make it more personal... something like "Jenna's _________".... and lest likely to have been already taken... Here are some translations of the word Basket (I tried to pick cultures that are known for their basket weaving) African: mandjie Indonesian: keranjang Spanish: cesto Swahili: kikapu Or you can go with that old children's rhyme... "A tisket a tasket" (a pink and yellow basket)

Movie Night Gift Basket for Valentine's Day a good idea?
My boyfriend and I have been dating for two years and I was trying to think of a Valentine's Day gift that he would enjoy. I thought of doing a Movie Night Gift Basket including things like a couple of his favorite DVDs, some microwave popcorn, a Blockbuster's gift card, some theater style candy, etc. Would you find this cheesy or would you enjoy this? Thanks!

I want to make my parents and in laws a gift basket, what should I put inside?
My in laws and my parents have done a lot for me, and I want to give them a homemade gift basket as a "thank you" gift. They both like drining coffees and teas. What kinds of things can I put into the basket? And I don't want to buy a ready-made basket, because I know both my parents and in laws really appreciate it when I give them homemade stuff.

What a WONDERFUL adult child you are! First, get a really GOOD basket they can use after they take the 'stuff' out ... then add the following stuff ... 1. a pair of really 'appropriate' cups or mugs ... choose them for their art work AND their capacity. Have you 'listened' when they were drinking and heard 'small complaints' about their cups or mugs? Can you find 'the perfect cup/mug' for that person? THAT is the 'beverage server' you want to get. 2. Get bags of real coffee beans ... get one each of the different 'roasts' ... light, medium, and dark, and also get at least four of the 'flavored' coffees, and be sure to get some with caffeine and some decafeinated. 3. Get a 'grinder' so they can grind their beans, even if they normally drink instant. They WILL love grinding their own coffees if you do this. 4. Get at least 5 different 'flavors' of tea bags ... some 'herbal' and some 'real teas' in the flavors you think they'll like best. 5. Get at least 5 different 'loose teas' (same as 4) 6. Get a nice 'tea strainer' ... they have some that are really nice, that can be 'hung on the wall' with little 'charms' on the other end of the chain. I've got one now, and I drink A LOT MORE loose tea because I've hung it on the wall, and don't have to 'search' through the drawer for it. 6. Get some 'unusual' cookies, brownies, and, if they like a 'sweet' for breakfast, get them some 'breakfast cookies' you think they'll like. 7. Get them a good 'small' cookbook of cookie/brownie/ breakfast sweets so they can 'make their own' or just enjoy reading it while drinking their goodies. 8. Add two 'special spoons.' You may also put in two small good plates, to set their cookies on. Wrap it in a NICE tablecloth rather than using 'plastic' ... they'll probably have a small table they can use it on (or can buy one for very little if they want) ... and MOST IMPORTANT write each couple a 'note' saying how MUCH you appreciate them 'being there' for you all this time, and that you want them to 'relax' and be happy, because it is because of THEM that you and your spouse are so happy.

What kind of gift basket can I creat for a co-worker?
I have a co-worker who is a retired librarian, that only eats orgainc food and that will be turning 71 years old. I want to create a basket instead of buying something from the store. Her birthday is tom. 4/18/07

Try giving tickets to a up coming concert or a day pass to a country home or the like, at 71 she may have an interest in music of days gone by, How much do you know about her?,what interests does she have? what type of person is she just because she is 71 doesn't mean she has to do old people things. And then there is always the basket that will be the normal, hand/body cream, sprays etc: How about gardening is she interested in it if so a nice basket full of gardening stuff may be in order and you can normally find different stuff at a good garden centre basket and all that can be used afterwards. Good Luck

Does anyone have any great inexpensive, yet creative gift ideas for Christmas? Any help is great!?
I'm tired of spending $100's of dollars on Christmas. This year I'm not really prepared to do as I usually do (spend WAY too much!). I know there are creative ways to make great gifts. I'm planning on making handmade fleece scarves, and some edibles, does anyone else have any ideas? I thought about gift baskets, but I'm at a loss as to what to put in them. Any ideas?

I just ordered a basket for my fiance today from holiday-gifts-gift-baskets They have a nice selection (both girlie and manly) and quite a few options that are reasonably priced. They also have a few shipping options to make sure your husband gets it in time for Valentine's Day.

I have yet another idea with a story behind it. I just got home from an elderly friend's birthday party. I wrote something on his card that only works for a gift to a pensioner: Money is short, times are hard, Here's your teeny tiny Birthday card! It you want to do that last special thing, why not write him a note, with humour, and make it from the heart! I think he may cherish it forever. When he read it he began to laugh, commented ain't it the truth, and read it aloud. --That Cheeky Lad A little extra note about my friend: He turned 74, a miracle of sorts. Seven years ago he had a huge cancerous tumor removed and went on chemo. The MDs didn't think he would make it six months with the chemo helping. The short of it, he took himself off chemo as soon as he thought it time, before it weakened him too much. His doctor, disturbed at the moment of his decision now credits it to his wise decision, but also to the enduring love of his wife who nurtured him body mind and soul though those dark months. Shorty, you impress me as being that kind, thoughtful, and loyal as well. You are your boyfriend's greatest gift. I hope he realizes it... Cheeky "on occasion can be serious as well"

just started a gift basket business any ideas on how to get this up and running?
Looking for advertising ideas, I have made brochures to distribute and supply a few shops but needing a little oomph to get this going seriously. They are individually made for any occasion and to suit any budget. I have even made up poems for special occasions which has gone down a treat so far so any ideas would be much appreciated.

Advertising is paid methods to spread the news about your gift baskets. Your best options here is to buy ads in: 1. The obituary section of your local newspaper to sell bereavement baskets. 2. The display section of your state's official magazine to alert readers about your all-occasion baskets. These are, hands down, the best places to invest your money. Marketing is spreading the news about your gift baskets without payment to anyone. Your best options here is to: 1. Inform individuals who already know you and have a need for gift baskets about your product. This includes bank officer, dentist, insurance agent, attorney, and the like, people who search for ways to boost their own careers or solve a problem. 2. Tell your local newspaper reporter about the gift baskets you have for upcoming occasions. Father's Day and graduations are big reasons for buying now. After 20 years of being the No. 1 expert in this industry, I know without a doubt that you'll answer your own question when you can respond to: Why did you start this business? What situation did you see that motivated you to start making gift baskets? When you can answer that, you'll know who buys and how to find them. Good luck. what items to put in mens gift basket/hamper?
I'm trying to put together some hampers as gifts, the girly ones are pretty easy to fill out with different toiletries. Baby ones pretty easy too. But i'm struggling to think what to put in one for men, that would keep it quite original, and useful. Any ideas please?
--------------------
Hmm. Actually, a bottle opener might be good, you can get some great novelty ones. Coffee beans, other foods they might like (I'm just thinking of my father, his dream hamper would be full of packets of potato chips, peanuts, coffee beans, box of chocolates etc). A voucher for a sports store or a book store or something? Um, maybe some sort of after shave stuff? Or just some neat novelty thing, there's plenty of stuff out there. Putting together hampers sounds fun though :)
