When sealed she would put in is a basket with a pretty bow and give as gifts. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. My mom has a severe memory problem so I can't ask her.

We had a family friend, she always had an outstanding and moist zucinni bread recipe. I aked my mom how and she told me it was because the bread was wrapped while still warm! My mother also started doing this to her quickbreads. The trick is to let it cool the 7-10 minutes in the pan(mostly so you can handle touching it) then remove to a sheet of plastic wrap and cover completely. Make sure the folds of wrap seal against themselves. Set on counter top cooling rack till completely cool. the heat is sufficient to seal the plastic well enough. We have done the same ribbon and basket thing as well, looks so nice for a gift.

seriously what is a good gift to send a man?
since flowers are to girly to send a guy than honestly what do women send their guy friends? it's just a simple surprise.... a dvd, or cd, or food basket or what? come on guys help......
--------------------
Flowers are actually a great gift to send to guys - quite a few of them have told me that they like them, and the attention that they get at the office when they arrive! Beyond that, it really depends on the level of your relationship, how well you know them, and the occasion. For friends, DVD's, music, games, nice clothing that they wouldn't buy for themselves, a car accessory, sports or concert tickets, IPod or other gadget.... For a boyfriend try cologne, sexy boxers, a silver photo frame with a picture of the two of you, a short trip with an overnight stay at a romantic B&B, or something else that the two of you can enjoy together.

Is it REALLY that difficult to work around bangs.?
I had a very odd experience scheduling a hair cut & make over. I won a gift basket full of services. Once of them was a free hair cut & make over. I told her I wanted a long layered cut. When I called the woman I asked her how she estimated the make-over & cut to take. She then asked me what kind of hair style I have. I told her I have very long hair with bangs. Her response was "Ooooh, bangs, sounds like you already have a lot going on, I don't know if I can give you the style you want." I explained to her that I have pictures, that the rest of may hair is all one length, and I am just wanting some layers put in. She kinda hemed & hawed & said, "well, we'll see what I can do when you get here". I am honestly a bit flabbergasted, what is so hard about cutting layers into long hair, when someone already has bangs? The picture I have is a long layered cut with bangs. I think I will just get the make-over & skip the cut. She sounds like she doesn't know what she's doing.
--------------------
Bangs are just bangs. It would be bad if you didn't want to keep the bangs, but from the way you described it, you want to keep your bangs. I think that she doesn't know what she's doing. I have bangs and I got my hair layered and my hair wasn't all one length. So I think that you need to find another hair salon or something...

Wicker Pickers! If you made it a combo gift basket and bumper sticker business you could call it: Wicker Pickers and Sticker Kickers! If you added candy too you could call it: Wicker Pickers, Sticker Kickers, and Snicker Lickers! :) Now, say THAT three times fast. Ok, I'm done, but I do like Wicker Pickers.

Is opening up a store a good idea?
I would like, within the next few years, to open up my own "seasonal" store. In spring I would sell things such as flowers, flower boxes, vases, etc. In summer I would also sell flowers, and also things such as sprinklers and water tubes. In fall, I would grow and sell my own pumpkins, sell Halloween costumes, and of course decorations. In winter, I would sell sleds, Christmas trees, decorations, Christmas lights, etc
On top of all this, the business would sell gift baskets of all types. Fruit baskets, gifts for dad, gifts for young girl, Halloween basket, hot chocolate basket, and of course many many more. Anyway, everyone always tells me I have a knack for giving and putting gifts together and also for decorating. However, at the same time no one thinks it is a good idea to open a store because they feel a store like this would be unsuccessful and feel no one would be interested in going to a store like this. But I disagree, there is a store similar to this near me (minus the gift baskets) and the parking lot is always packed. So
my question is
Would you be interested in a store like this or would you pass it by? Thanks.
--------------------
I would love it and I could spend all day in that type of shop , but like the other posters are saying it may not be the right time . You could do this from home to start with , your over heads will be a lot less , maybe you could start in a shed or garage . If you are good with computers you could start a simple website (we used Fasthost ), it was very quick ,easy and cheap, but we generate a good income from ours . As long as you have somewhere to store you goods it would be easy to get up and running , you may find that you dont want the hassle of a shop if your website is a success ,good luck.

gardening question?
i got some seeds in a gift basket and i wasnt sure what somthing ment but any ways it said u were suppose to sow the seeds in 1/4 to 1/2 deep in fine soil indoors in a pot. what dose sow mean?
--------------------
Get some "potting" soil at Wal-Mart. That is considered fine soil. Put it in your pot. Poke a finger into the soil about 1/2 inch deep. Drop a seed into that. Fill in the hole with dirt. You have just sewn a seed! Water it with a sprinkling can--the type with little holes poked in the spout so it will imitate rain. That will be gentle enough so that you don't drown the seed or wash it away. Put the pot in a warm, sunny window and water it when the surface is dry--every couple of days until it sprouts. Then you don't have to water so frequently. Also, make sure you don't water it too much so that it stays soggy, that will make the seed rot. It's really not too tricky. Plant several seeds so that if some don't make it others will. Soon you will have flowers--or herbs. Good Luck!

I asked out a girl on valentines day?
ok, i brought in a box of chocolates, i brought in a bear and a card. the bear was holding a red flower. I was confident and there was nobody else in the room. she said "i cant accept that, im sorry" i dont get what i did wrong. can someone please help me? Im a nice guy but im not realy noticed. the girl is pretty shy. i made the gift basket out of scratch. can someone please help me? im very confused why this happened =(
--------------------
You may have done everything right in the books, but sorry to say, maybe she just wasn't that interested in you to begin with. If you think chocolate, bears and other gifts is going to win a girl's heart you're sadly mistaken. Unless you want a gold digger, you're going to have to actually talk to this girl and get to know each other more or something. If you already do know each other well, maybe she just likes you as a friend. Maybe the whole situation was just uncomfortable for her because, like you said, she's shy and she has a hard time accepting gifts. Sorry to hear this happened. Doesn't mean you two can get to know each other more and you can give it another shot later.

Where can I sell blankets like this, that I make?
And how much could I sell them for? This one cost me about $13 to make. PICS: http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b147/Leigh615ann/100_1773.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b147/Leigh615ann/100_1774.jpg Blanket in a gift basket: http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b147/Leigh615ann/100_1775.jpg

That's adorable! The market seems pretty saturated with baby stuff, so how about doing a "doggy" theme and placing the gift baskets with vets and in animal shelters? I think you could charge right in the $30 neighborhood for the blankie and maybe a chew toy or squeaky toy.

Is this good customer service to you?
I ordered 6 gift baskets that were on sale from one of (if not) the largest fruit basket/gift tower companies in the world. Two baskets were delivered last week and the other employees were told theirs should arrive soon. After not receiving them today, I called the company and was informed that they no longer have any more of the deluxe baskets or anything close to the size. "But" I was told, they could substitute their "deluxe gift tower of treats" instead. The baskets i ordered were 18lbs of fruits, nuts etc and were originally priced at $340.00. The substitute has only 1/3 the fruit (pears and apples) and is just candy and popcorn that sells for $149! And we would have to still pay the same $100 for the substitute! Furthermore, they never even called/emailed etc to inform us to tell us of the mistake! We have been ordered with them for three years spending about $800 a year. Is this good customer service? I feel they should offer the equivalent discount on the substituted item OR should send the tower of treats along with a nice gift basket to fill in for the difference since other office employees will see the huge size discrepancy.
--------------------
Good customer service doesn't even exist anymore, but in this case I'd call it fraud because they sold you an item they didn't have in stock and are attempting to give you less. It isn't like fruit is that expensive in the first place, sounds to me like they are way overpriced. Just because a company is well known and large doesn't mean they are honest, have the best product, or are the best priced. In fact, it usually means the opposite, how do you think they became so large? They did it by charging ridiculous amounts for less and cutting corners through quality and customer service, that's how, but they have little concern from the consumer because they have already soaked so much money out of them that they can pay millions of dollars in lawyers fees to uphold their name. They know what they did, they did it to hundreds or maybe even thousands of people who relied on them over the holiday season. I should know I used to work for one of the largest manufacturers of car air conditioners, and they were always producing crap and sending bad quality to their consumers intentionally in order to cut costs and they were the #2 manufacturer in the world and were affiliated with the #1 manufacturer. Next time you buy, buy directly from a small competitor, your much more likely to receive a fair and honest deal and good costumer service to boot, not only that you will be supporting the economy if you do so. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. Words to live by. I would call them and tell them this will be the last year you will be ordering from them. Sorry but all of these dishonest buisness practices really yank my chain, but what makes me even more angry is how the justice system has been set up to support such crap. The next time you see someones car go up in flames due to faulty wiring you'll know it was caused by either the #1 or #2 car air conditioner manufacturer in the world. Oh, and by the way they aren't going to offer you anything, that would defeat their purpose. ;-)

Christmas basket help?
I'm going to buy my grandmother and aunt matching gift baskets for Christmas next year, however they'll have different fragrances because the two women aren't very much alike. My aunt's will have an angel broach or ornament, and my grandmothers... well I haven't decided yet. I'm going to put them both in colorful baskets and include: a body mist, a big bottle of bubble bath, three bars of soap, a small bottle of bath oil, 3 bath bombs, 3 drawer sachets, a sugar scrub, shampoo/conditioner, and a body lotion. If I can, I'll probably buy a few small bottles of different perfumes [or sample sizes] and put them in their baskets, too. I don't know what type of scent I should use for either woman. My aunt is a heavy christian who loves angels, gardening, decorating, and singing. My grandmother is lively and always on the go with her constant travelling or bingo trips. I don't know what type of scents Nanny likes, but I remember my aunt liked the natural collection from Avon.

PLEASE HELP! INDIGENOUS CHILDRENS CHARITY & GIFTS FOR NEW & EXPECTING MUMS!!!!?
Hi all, My fiance & I have recently decided to help close the gap between indigenous & non indigenous health & education. Our focus is indigenous children. We have tracked down a number of hostels & residence for Indigenous Children who are living in care and have just this weekend organised our first lot of gifts for a group of children that will never go home to their families. Our gifts consisted of school supplies, toiletries, sporting equip, nicnaks & clothing....We have also tracked down a Womens Maternal Centre that provide accommodation for upto 12 families (soon to be 32) who need to travel from Remote parts of Northern QLD to have their babies in the cities hospital. We thought it would be nice to organise some gift baskets for these new & expecting mums. SO... We are trying to track down some warehouses or wholesalers that may sell basic clothes, toiletries, nappies, dummies etc that we could do up a new born gift basket. ANY help would be greatly appreciated.....from what to put in these baskets, to where to find good quality with a cheap price tag. PLEASE HELP US!! Thanks!! :-)

Little money for christmas gifts, doing home made gifts. Opinion please?
I'm very low on money right now as my job isn't providing any hours. With the money that I have scrounged up, I plan on buying supplies and little things for gifts, and then making home made gifts. Some of the things I plan on making can then go into gift baskets for each person, including my sisters, parents and friends. Here's a list of what I am going to be making: -Cookies in a jar -Bath salts -Relaxation CD(burned) -A candle -Possible a bath pillow for the girls -Homemade ornaments, both dough ones and felt -Hot cocoa mugs with chocolate coated spoons and marshmellows -Home made necklace and earring for the girls Does anyone have any more suggestions, and do you think these(everyone would be receiving one of each item, along with something from the dollar store in a gift basket) ideas? Do you have any more suggestions or anything that might make this a better gift? And do you think they will like it? My sisters are between 16 and 22, and I just wasn't sure about the youngest. She has a mentality of an 8 year old, so should I do something different for her? Thanks!!

All nice. Can you get a copy of any of the Tightwad Gazette books, by Amy Dacyczyn from the public library? She gives good cheap ideas. Believe it or not, Martha Stewart too. You may be able to pick up some paperwhites at clearance from a garden. Start them in the coldest room of your house, as close to 50 degrees as possible in a pebble filled bowl with water just touching the bottom. As much light as possible. If you have a garden to do it, forced hyacinths and tulips. These would have to be planted in pots and then buried outside under leaves and taken in around Christmas to begin growing (again in the coldest part of your house). They need freezing temperature for a few weeks before being taken in. Maybe they will work better as Three Kings or Valentine's gifts. Any garden center has these bulbs at clearance now, but forcing takes skill, unlike the paperwhites. For plant people. Get a terracota saucer with a drainage hole. Fill it with soil blended for succulents and cacti. Buy the cheapest and smallest cacti and succulents you can find, or even better cuttings from your plants or those of willing friends. You can duplicate a dish garden that would sell for $25.00 for just a few dollars, especially if you have some old containers or established plants. Here is another idea. Get a clear vase, start a vine such as a pothos or philodendrum in it (someone should have one of these you can cut). Put a beta (siamese Fighting Fish) in it with the plant. Only use philodendrum if no pets or people will eat it since it is toxic. Otherwise use the pothos or a pepperomia or other vine. Check on the internet to make sure you don't get anything toxic. Find some old, half dead african violets on clearance. Get a leaky discarded aquarium or a wide-mouth jar used for pretzels. Add soil, charcoal to keep the soil sweet and pebbles on the bottom for drainage. Bright indirect light. This will work well with any cheap tropical plants you can pick up from the worst and most unpromising source. I used to use 50 cent plants from Woolworths and turn them into giant, thriving plants in a few weeks with the right humidity, light, and watering. Just pass on anything actively diseased or insect infected. Good luck. I don't know crafts, but I do know gardening.

Need business name suggestion for handmade beaded jewelry?

So I need a flexable name. Also will sale 2nd hand things: clothes, cloth diapers, toys ect DH is giving me money to set up a website . So I need a short name (preferably 20 characters or less) One to 3 words. (nothing with beads or baubles!) My name is Sonita. You can check out my (current website! What is a good gift to give...?
What would be a good gift to give the maintenance people at my apartment complex? They do very good work & maybe I should send the office a fruit basket or something?
--------------------
I think a gift of food is a great idea. I'd make cookies & fudge & give that.

Need help with gift for man I'm interested in...?
I'd like to add to a birthday gift for my guy friend. We have a strong connection and for now are just friends as we live in different cities. He likes coffee and I don't drink coffee. I've heard him say that he likes to add just a bit of cinnamon and a touch of vanilla to his coffee. Can you coffee drinkers suggest a good coffee blend to add to my birthday basket of goodies I have planned for him? Thank you!
--------------------
I'm a coffee drinker. Personally I prefer Colombian coffee the best but the taste is all in the individual. Find out what kind of roast he likes. For example, light, medium or dark roast coffee. Then do a search online and find a Gourmet blend of that kind of roast. I'm sure he would appreciate that.

Mothers day... is this a good...?
Mothers' day is coming, please tell me, is this a good idea, I sell Avon and my brother gave me this idea... (He said it would work for the men who just don't know what to get... and the men who work too late to go shopping...) make gift baskets... and do a "build your own basket" or a "You pick the price" where you tell me what you want in the basket and I put it together. And charge... Ex. Small basket: $1.50 plus the cost of the Avon products. Medium basket: $2.50 plus the cost of the Avon products. Large basket: $3.50 plus the cost of the Avon products. Do you think this would work??? would it work in a small town???

why wouldn't you not do it? It's a money maker you should do it for all occasions and birthday, baby showers, weddings, etc., oh and wrap then in the holiday wrapping. clear Selene

Need opinions -- bridal shower "memory" game?
I'm hosting a bridal shower. In addition to my gift 2the bride, I purchased a few things off her registry. Low ticket items:pizza cutter, pizza airbake pan, measuring spoons, pot holder, kitchen towel, and then some room spray and some Mrs. Meyer's supplies (laundry soap, all-purpose cleaner, counter top spray and dish soap). I put all of these things inside of a contoured "hip basket" laundry basket that she was registered for. At the shower, I am planning on having her go around the room with the "gift basket" for about 2 or 3 minutes, showing guests the items in the basket and asking them to pay special attention to Liz as she comes around with the basket. Then she leaves the room. She keeps full basket as gift. Two options at this point, for a prize, I could ask guests to write down as many of the items in the bride's basket as they can remember... OR I could take them off guard and ask them to write down what the bride was wearing, from head to toe... Which do u like better?
--------------------
Ask them what the bride was wearing! If she's walking around with the basket, everyone will assume the questions will be about the basket, therefore thats what they will concentrate on. Then thats when you hit them with the real questions!

Do actors really deserve awards?
And gift baskets worth more than the average income for pretending to be different people on film?
--------------------
No, they get paid to much anyway. There are more important things that are going on in the world right now than awards shows. To me is artifical and lame. The actors and actresses have tons of people who help them. They are nothing special in my book. The military who is giving up their lives for their job deserve a lot of credit. A war that most of them oppose. I hate Hollywood period.
