I am thinking of making up a basket full of various items that would be extremely useful and hopefully can help pass time during their recovery. If you have experienced the surgery, or know someone who has, what kind of stuff do you think they would really want/need after coming home from the hospital? Please share your ideas with me. Ahh that is super sweet and awesome of you. Hmm let me remember what I needed when I first got mine done. If you can find some get those little 1 ounce measurement cups - I used those ALOT to see how much of something I was supposed to be eating. Try and include a little can of whey protein mix. They will need to get extra protein from here on out, and b12 so some b12 tabs might be a good idea along with extra calcium. If they are having it done "open" being cut open get them some supplies to clean and redress the wound. You will defenitely want to include some cards of support to open along the way.. day of hospital visit, day after, week after, month after, etc. They also have this thing called a Bari- Bear which helps you sit up and breathe properly after surgery to help slowly work your abs. http://www.nvo.com/teddytech/bari1buddye… Otherwise just get them a new soft comfortable pillow. And lastly the most important thing you can give is your time. They will be down and feeling like crap for quite a while so go visit them. You can print coupons for time if you want. Lastly, you can get a journal for them to keep track of their progress, include a disposable camera so they can take pictures of the weight coming off as it happens super fast! I lost 20 pounds the week I was in the hospital. No joking. That's all I can think of right now. Good luck and send this person well wishes from someone who has been there.

Easter Basket Gifts?

As for the little guy, when my 7 year old was tiny, we put jars of baby food and baby snack items, travel wipes in a summer plastic set (little chair, pail, shovel, etc.) instead of a basket. All things were very useful. As for your husband, I sometimes give my husband breakfast on the run sort of things like granola bars, and some snack items (nuts, crackers) in his basket. Has anyone used or heard of this home based gift business company?
I'm thinking about doing a home based business and just saw the following site. It looks interesting. It doesnt require any inventory or anything. You just do marketing maybe and find customers and they do the rest and you get a percentage, fairly good one it looks like. They offer two business packages including a simple one for only $20/month for a very basic set up or that plus a one time fee of $500 to do your own online store totally set up by them and you can add your own baskets and other items at any time. www.dropshipgourmet.com I'm emailing them to ask for testimonials from their current members or something like that, plus I'm going to try and do a web search or something. how would I go about planning this?
I am going to try to plan a "Doggie Day" in my local park. I want my local humane society to bring some dogs that are up for adoption to this. How would I ask them or tell them about my idea? And also, who else might i need permission to do this? maybe the town's major? I was planning on owners bringing there dogs to the park. What is a good gift for my broke and financially struggling boyfriend?
My boyfriend is extremely strapped for cash this year, due to recently being laid off. He's relatively young (in his 20s), and is barely getting by. He is barely able to pay his rent, and very rarely ever has anything left over for food, gas, entertainment, etc. I am thinking that, because of the situation he's in, I'd really love to do something for him for Christmas to help even just a little bit. My two ideas are either getting him a nice wallet full of tons of gift cards for gas, grocery stores, etc. or else making him a really nice, huge gift basket of basic everyday essentials that he needs. Would these be good ideas, or would it come across as offensive? I'm also thinking of getting him a DVD he'd like, but I'm more-so concerned with getting him basic things that he is having to go without. Are there any more ideas out there that might be more subtle?

Marine gift idea? How come didn't I receive phone call from my fiance?
I am engaged to my Jar head (Marine recon) who has been in Iraq for a little over 1 month. I haven't received any phone calls from him. The other girl from our support group has received several phone calls already, and her husband is a regular Marine officer. There were many people told me that no news is good news, but I couldn't sleep, and I had bad dreams about him getting hurt. I couldn't concentrate. I kept on dreaming about his body parts fly all over the places, stuff like that. I don't get any support from my family who thinks I made a mistake by having a relationship with him. What was your favourite shower gift?
I was going to make a diaper cake for my friends baby shower since my sister made me one and I loved it! But I guess my idea was too good because a 'friend' of mine instantly took the idea as her own. But I'd rather not be petty about it...time to think of a new idea haha. I liked it because it was cheap since I don't have a lot of money. I have a baby bath that my son used and I was going to make a gift basket using the bath instead of a traditional basket. I also have a car seat toy that he barely used to put in there and some unopened lotions and bath stuff. What other cheap things could I include? Does this sound like a good idea?
