Can anyone help with Christmas gift basket ideas?

So money is a little tight this year and I though a great gift idea for my mom and sister would be a gift basket. I would like it to have a Christmas/winter theme. But I need ideas for items to put in it. I was thinking of homemade hot chocolate mix, a coffee mug, some super comfy socks. maybe some homemade cookies or even cookie mix in a jar. What are some other ideas? Thanks so much to all those who reply!
--------------------
Dish cloths and dish towels are always appreciated! Also, a seasonal scent of antibacterial hand cream from Bath and Body Works is nice- something you don't really buy yourself, but would love to receive- nice to keep in your purse. Seasonal hand soap for the bathroom, again, something you probably don't buy for yourself, but would love to have!

Dear (fill in bride's name) Youre on the EDGE of a dream that's about to come true. As your friend it's only fair that I let you in on a little SECRET and give you a few TIPS about marriage. Thre will be a time in your marriage when you realize that (GROOM) is not MR. CLEAN and that he does not like to be your CHORE BOY. But don't send out an SOS because he might VANISH. And altough he may not make 100 GRAND, and he may have annoying little habits, try not to SHOUT or use a BAZOOKA. Just remember your PLEDGE to love one another and to give each other your ALL. Use GOOD SENSE (garbage bags) and work hard to RESOLVE any differences that you may have since (GROOM) is FANTASTIK and you're his HOT TAMALE. We're GLAD to wish you a future filled with lots of love HUGS and KISSES and much JOY. May (groom) always be your one and only HONEY and may be you always love to SNUGGLE with him. Love,

good ideas for a house guest gift basket?

My mom is staying with us for over a week and I would like to make her a little gift basket of amenities and put it in our guest room. Does anyone have any good ideas for what to include? It would double as a thank you gift too since she will be helping me a lot with my kids.
--------------------
I would get a really nice basket and fill it up with goodies from bath and body works. Get her some face wash, bubble bath beads, anything else you think she'd enjoy. =] http://www.bathandbodyworks.com/home/ind…

What would I put in this gift basket?

Best friend is moving away for college across the country. I posted a question a few minutes ago about a gift idea. I like the idea of a gift basket in case she gets homesick, with like a warm blanket, maybe some dvds, and other comfort stuff? What do you think? Do you think it would be a bad idea to give her a bunch of stuff when she is moving?
--------------------
it's not a bad idea. it will be something for her to cuddle up with on those difficult first nights, and since she's moving anyways she's going to have to transport all of her old stuff, what's a few more things? plus, it will give her a way to remember you. it will show more love and give her comfort than it would the small extra hassle to bring it. also possibly write a note with the gift basket describing your favorite memories. not a little note, but like a good honest page or so of everything you love and will miss about her.

Gift basket ideas for a first time mom in the hospital?

My sister is due with her first baby this week, and I'd like to send a gift basket with just for her (the baby will be getting a separate gift) for while she's at the hospital. I was thinking magazines she can read if she has a long wait and chocolates (she has a major sweet tooth), but I can't really think of what else to send. Any ideas? What would you have liked to have while in the hospital?
--------------------
Well once the baby arrives, I'm sure she'll be pretty busy with the new baby. But if you're thinking about things for her while she's in labor, here are a few ideas. Puzzle books, chapstick, one of those soothing gel packs for the eyes or forehead, some massage lotion for her spouse or labor coach to rub her feet, shoulders or back, a deck of cards or Uno game. Maybe a baby book so she can start filling it out. And one thing to throw in there is a gift card to her favorite restaurant.

Baskets to make into Gift baskets?

So here is my dilemma, where can I find sort of sturdy baskets that I can buy in bulk fr cheap? I mean sturdy as in I don't want one thin line as the handle, I think it looks a little tacky. Any one have any ideas? I am using them to put cookies in and other christmas treats for family and friends, should I use something besides a basket? Please let me know, thank you.
--------------------
Our dollar tree actually has really nice baskets this year. If you have the money to spend a bit more go to micheals craft store. They are having 40% off christmas baskets. Their prices ranged from 2.99-19.99 but with 40% off it works. Hopefully you find something. If you don't use baskets I have seen people use planter pots (clearanced out at walmart). These work really nice but they have no handles which might be a problem. Have a merry Christmas.

tea experts - what teas/cookies would you pick for a gift basket for a tea lover/connoisseur?

I'm trying to put together a gift basket of teas and cookies for someone who did something very nice for me. I don't know the person, but I know they are a tea lover and really know a lot about tea. I hardly know anything about what makes a tea good or bad, and I'm not sure what their tastes are. I also don't know what types of cookies go well with tea. Any ideas?
--------------------
Shortbread cookies go best with tea. Get them in attractive containers. As far as the tea you're going to use, LOOSE tea is by far superior to anything you will ever find in a tea bag. Your best bet is to find a local tea room. They will have people there that can answer your questions and give you advice as to which teas would be best. Here's a link to help you locate a tea room in your area. Good luck!! http://teamap.com

Would you Buy These Gift Baskets?

www.basketsofgiftonline.com i just opened this site and i am having trouble getting sales. I'm getting lots of traffic but no sales. I was wondering if you saw these baskets would you buy them.
--------------------
Nice site. Yes I would , but you need to get some real buying interest. I would not be too concerned just yet. Gift baskets can be very seasonal . Try to get some corporate clients who give gifts at the holidays. Contact the local companies in your area. Give a small sample basket to the Administrative support person( these are the people who usually place the orders) . I have seen this method done very successfully. If that is not in your budget and you want o get to a larger group of Admin people. Have them come to the lunch room at break time , bring bagels , donuts, etc . Have a display of samples , Give a sales pitch, Have them draw a ticket the winner gets to pick a basket. You need to get the word of mouth going!

Can anyone tell me where i can find cheap wholesale baskets?

I am trying to sell gift baskets of all sorts online and locally. My 1st problem i am coming across is where i can find wholesale prices in baskets of all sorts (wicker, cans, jars, etc.) and also supplies for putting the baskets together. If i type in "wholesale baskets" in a search engine they still come up as at least $5.00 for an average sized baskets. I need cheap! Please help... Thanks
--------------------
The best solution would be to buy from wholesale suppliers or manufacturers. You can contact them and ask for rates, specifications etc. You can get the list of suppliers with contact details from http://www.hellotrade.com all you need to do is to search for the products for which you want the suppliers from this website.

Do you have any advice to give in starting a new gift boutique business?

My sister and I are considering starting up a new venture and eventually opening up our own business. We both, for years, have been crafty and creative and she has her own line of bath products and I have my line of gift baskets and gifts in a jar. Do you have any advice or tips you might want to share? We are in the Central Valley in California and would have even thought about more or less Internet selling to begin with, but obviously we are pretty new to the retail selling part outside of bazaars and boutiques both locally as well as those we travel to. Any thoughts? Thank you much!
--------------------
Do lots of homework into finding the right shop and the legalities of forming a partnership, etc. If you can do it, get a job in a boutique part time to see how things work and don't work. I made the mistake of starting a business without fully researching the market, and I lost a lot of money. Make sure that you have enough capital that you are willing to lose for a year. Sometimes a business takes time to get off the ground. But you have to be willing to lose that capital if the business does not get anywhere. You might consider working from your garage and selling in a home shop via ebay, your own web site or Amazon.com. You would have a minimum overhead and could then build up a clientele. I wish you lots of luck and enjoyment from your venture.

What would be a good house warming gift?

My best friend and her mom just moved into a new house and I wanted to send them something. I live in virginia and they live in georgia. I was thinking just a bouquet of flowers or one of those edible gift baskets. Anybody got any other ideas?
--------------------
I for one think a bouquet of flowers is great for girls...what girl doesn't love flowers! Maybe you could buy them a cute picture frame that says something about house or home on it...? Maybe you could look up their new area on the internet, and send them a gift certificate for something to do close to the new house. I also loved the idea of the address labels that someone else shared. That's a great one!

What could I put in this gift basket?

I am making gift baskets for the holidays this year. I kind of want to put a cocktail party in a box! These could be things for both genders. Here are some of the things I have already thought of. Any help is appreciated.Thank you ! Jello- For Shooters Wine Glasses Flavored Syrups Margarita Mix
--------------------
How about - A cocktail shaker and a strainer corkscrew Recipes for cocktails - you could print up your own or get a cocktail guide Cocktail napkins Wineglass stem markers (the rings that you hook onto the stem of your glass to identify that it's yours)-you could make them yourself Jars of cocktail olives and onions and toothpicks Ice tongs Shot glass - for measuring For your basket, you could put everything in an ice bucket. That's all I'm coming up with. Hope it gives you some ideas. I think your gift basket theme is very clever and will be appreciated. Just thought of something else - how about Alka Seltzer or aspirin for those hangovers when they've over indulged??

What can I put in my mother in laws gift basket?

I have already bought a large yankee candle and some Victoria's Secret lotions, sprays, etc. What else can I put in there? I'm going to wrap the basket in cello wrap and tie a ribbon on top so I would like a bunch of different things instead of one gift. We also have a toddler girl I thought about putting a picture of her in the basket. Any suggestions!!! Thanks!!!
--------------------
If she likes cooking or stuff like that, you could put a cookbook in there, and if she doesn't like cooking you could just put a good book in there. Hmm, maybe some christmas candy, Like dove or Godiva? Everyone likes that. Maybe a christmas DVD. Or A Giftcard.

NYC: who sells the best Christmas gourmet gift baskets: cake, crackers & cheese, tea, etc.?

thank you
--------------------
That is easy there are four good places- Balducci's, Citarella, Gracie's and Zabar's(the one on the Upper West Side). All have great gourmet gifts and all can make them very beautiful. I gave you four because you should shop for the best price since they all have their own way of doing things.
