I'm trying to put together a gift basket of teas and cookies for someone who did something very nice for me. I don't know the person, but I know they are a tea lover and really know a lot about tea. I hardly know anything about what makes a tea good or bad, and I'm not sure what their tastes are. I also don't know what types of cookies go well with tea. Any ideas?

Shortbread cookies go best with tea. Get them in attractive containers. As far as the tea you're going to use, LOOSE tea is by far superior to anything you will ever find in a tea bag. Your best bet is to find a local tea room. They will have people there that can answer your questions and give you advice as to which teas would be best.
