Ideally choose a name that describes whats your business offers or sells the most of. You can always change it later to try to get a better brand store but if its a new store, first try what i said above. If it is a small gift basket business you can try your name (ex Ashly's Gift Baskets). Go with what feels right to you.

Promoting Business?

I have a gift basket business, but there's a twist -- it's all about sex. There's dildos, lubes, pornos, etc. How do I promote this to the public, nightclubs, etc? And how do I get things off half price with sex stores? Teaming up with them and what not? I NEED HELP!!!

For promoting. I would see If I could rent some space at a sex store, but a problem could be that since you are buying items that they sell, eventually they might kick you out and start doing it themselves. It can still be an ok idea to try because it will help you get some customers. I would also have a website. In all your baskets, make sure you have information about your company and your website. This way if you use the idea above and they do take over your idea, your past customers may check out your website. You can run tasteful ads in the newspaper. You can show some happy people and say something about how they've gotten a basket from you. Say something about how they're for the mature adult. That would probably give a good hint as to what your baskets are like. Our radio stations have commercials for the local sex stores. They just hit that point, they're for the mature adult and work around how they talk about their products. You also have to go to the right sources, that wouldn't have the people who would get offended. A newspaper would be ok, but pick the right station, don't advertise on a christain or contemporary station. Pick those that deal with rock and rap. Last part of your question. To get things at half price isn't going to happen with a sex store. That will only happen if you find their distributor and also buy from them. This be the only way to buy it whole sale. If you have your business set up with all sales tax permits, then you may be able to buy from a sex store without paying tax on the items, but I wouldn't think that they would give you much of a discount. Your best bet is to look for distributors. Maybe find a store in another state and ask who they use. Asking a store you use would be bad. They could think your starting your own store and that can be bad news. Hope that helps.

Question to Holiday bakers ...?

I'm going to be a first time baker this Christmas.. My question is how to store things?? and how soon can I make them??? So far the things I'm going to make is Pumkin Gingerbread bread, Chocolate covered prezels, and cookies (not sure what kind yet) I plan on delivering the gifts friday (Dec 22) afternoon and I plan on packing everything in a gift basket ~~~Merry Christmas~~~

You should be fine making the items you listed a couple of days in advance. I recommend tightly sealing the bread, or even freezing it until you are ready to eat it. The pretzels should not be a problem and a tip for your cookies is to store them in a ziploc bag with a slice of bread. I know it sounds wierd but the bread will keep the cookies moist! Good luck! :)

Mom's 50th Birthday...Gift ideas needed?? Here is what I have so far...?

I got her a nice basket from target, so she can use anywhere in the house. Anyway, since her b-day is close to Easter I went with the basket theme. In the basket, i got her 4 pair of flip flips from Old Navy. A collage picture frame, with pictures in it, a cookbook, she loves them, and a sweet pea bath and body set. I just feel like there needs to be something else, after all it is her 50th. Any ideas of what I could add?

Weve been together for a year and 4 months now. He's 22, dallas cowboys & yankees fan. I want to do something cute for him and make him feel special. I came up with this idea but I want to know what people think so I'd appreciate any input! I'm thinking armani cologne gift set, an affliction shirt (cuz he wants one but can't afford it), a yankees fitted hat, & i was thinking a cowboys stocking and stuff it with some football stuff or something.. & not sure if it's corny but what do u guys think if i get a cd holder and burn him cds and decorate the cd holder? i'm not sure if i should make it all into a basket or whatttt so any input would be very much appreciated guys!

Need help planning a going away party for my marine! :D?

My fiance is leaving for Marine Boot Camp on the 25th of May and I am planning on throwing a big going away party for him with all of his friends. We are going to do a big barbecue and have a blast! So far I've only found one website with party favors that have the marine emblem on them. I know I could just do marine colored plates but I really want to be creative and find some cool stuff! I also want to put together a going away basket of really neat things to give him! I know he can't take them with him to boot camp but I still want to do it! So far I've come up with the idea of giving him a nice marine belt buckle... If anyone could help me with gift ideas, party favors, etc. I would soooooooooo appreciate it! Thank you!

Please help me find the name of this novelty catalog?

i was looking through this catalog that had a "open your own oyster kit with an authentic pearl" in it. I thought it would be the greatest gift for my friend because it reminded me of a shop in Busch Gardens Europe. But i can't remember the name of the catalog! My twin was cleaning out the catalog basket and threw it away! All i remember is it came in the mail not to long ago and it had some kind of wooden mind puzzles or wooden toy things in the front and it was called odds and ends or this or that, i honestly cant remember, but it was _______ and ________ or _________ or __________. i cant remember if that is right or not, but it sticks in my mind, so im pretty sure its something like that. i wish i would have looked at the name because i have googled it and cant find anything. the only thing found was the lighter side and they dont have anything i am looking for. So if you have received this in your mail, can you please tell me the name of this catalog or if you receive novelty catalogs, please list a few names. Or any catalog or website that offers this item, please let me know. I remember it also had old looking coins banks in it. One was a chipmunk and one was a golfing bank if that helps any. But i need these for Christmas and i wanted to get them before they go out of stock. But they were around $8.50 for one. Please help me! thanks so much!

I would recommend Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo and any of Hayao Miyazaki's films if you're looking for cute romance. Oh, and 5 cm per second is pretty good too :]. Other than that, I'm pretty sure you've exhausted the list of (good) romantic, slice of life comedies out there. Maybe you should branch out to a different genre?

Is fund raiser $$ to attend a ministry related event taxable?

My 16 year old daughter held a fund raiser (BBQ dinner after service) at our church to raise money for a ministry related trip. (There was no charge for the meal, but a donation basket was put out.) She competed on the district level in a Fine Arts Festival developed by our international fellowship and she advanced to the national level of competition. The fund raiser was to help with cost of the trip to compete at the national level. The total amount of money brought in by the fund raiser was deposited into the church account and then she was issued a check for that amount. The church issued her a 1099 Misc. form for 2007 for that same amount. The amount was $749.00, but we spent about $200.00 on the food for the meal. Is this taxable income? Taxable gift? or Non-taxable? The amount covered only a portion of her total expense for this trip.

What should I get my boyfriend for Valentine's Day?

Yes, I know, all of you see one of these all the time during the "Love" month, but I'm very undecided on what to get him. I don't want to just get him clothes or something, but I want it to be special. I remember him and I talking about how we wanted a photo album with our pictures in it, so that will be one of my ideas. Another idea I had was to get a heart shaped basket and fill it with his favorite candies. What else can I do? I like to be creative, but yet have something that can be useful. I hate buying things that will lye around the house and collect dust. In addition, this will be a gift for a 16-year-old guy. I don't want any stupid, short answers. I'm in need of help. Thanks.

Or something like a keychain that you both can have which can let your partner been constantly reminded of you. the weather is right, have a picnic under the stars and tell her cute stuff all night and be really romantic. well, get him/her lol a box of chocolate, classic. u could take them to a dinner, maybe a movie,or u could cook at home and snuggle up on the coach wit a good movie. (DON'T FORGET TO SAY,"I ?U!") Fill his/ her whole bedroom closet, garage, coat closet, car, drawer, bathroom cabinet, linen closet, etc. with balloons. Candle light dinner in a nice posh restaurant, dress elegant. Roses, chocolates as a gift too. dont wanna be rude but how about you cover your bed with rose petals, and wear something smashing. and rent a movie perhaps. And do what pleases your partner. you could pretend that valentines isnt big deal and you are not going to do anything. And voila surprise Well, you can give your partner a nice notebook that has pictures of you two and the places that you have been. Put comments next to it like "I was havin the time of my life laughing with you" "I love the way your eyes twinkle when you smile" how about you write a letter? Write all about how much you love. Or how about give it to him in a bottle, wine bottle will do!, to keep the tradition alive Or or or You could go to a church!!!

Is this a good idea for Christmas gifts for my friends?

Okay so I am buying for 5 17 year old girls. I'm on a tighttt budget so I'm trying to do my best here. So I thought I should do something that's the same for everyone but different. What I had in mind was to buy an inexpensive mug for each of them [different mug for everyone], then fill it up with homemade cookies [4 each], chocolate dipped pretzel rods [3 each], 1 gingerbread man, a spoon that's dipped and drizzled in chocolate, a candy cane, a pouch of hot chocolate mix, and some candy. I want it to be like a gift basket but instead of a basket, it's a mug. Then I'm gonna wrap it in holiday cellophane wrap and tie it with these adorable Christmas ribbons I bought the other day. I don't want to come off as stingy or cheap but I don't have a lot of money. A few of my friends asked what I was getting them and I told them and they said it was cute but some of them are spending up to $25 each but I can only spend $80 between my Mom, Dad, and friends. Is it a good idea or is it too cheap? Also, how much are mugs at like the Christmas Tree Shop/Dollar Store? The ones in Target are like $10 each and I can't spend that much! Thanks in advance (:
