Need your input?

I would like to know what kind of gift basket you would like to recieve and/or buy for someone else. I need unique ideas. Something that you would not normally see in a store or online.
--------------------
Well, you could make one yourself, and if that's the case, here are some ideas: Small samples of good coffees and teas with a mug... also chocolate covered coffee beans, covered fruits, and nuts... you could include biscottis, scone mix, jams and jellies (small jars of a GOOD brand like from william's sonoma)... Or, you could do fresh fruit, small breads or bagels, smoked salmon, dried fruit, cold tea bags (boca java sells them in CUTE tins and really handsome glass jars), and maybe even a gift card to a store like william's sonoma or crate and barrel. You could do a pasta basket-a pasta strainer spoon (those spoons with the teeth sticking up to pull spaghetti out of the water), jar of excellent sauce, a very good pasta, a kitchen apron, some good wine (red wine), and a nice bread... You could do a gift card basket with $15-$25 gift cards for places like jamba juice, crate and barrel, target, or any favorite places that don't require tons of money... A basket with favorite lotions, body washes, bath salts, and maybe an Ulta card would be wonderful. Also, gauge it on the person you're giving it to. Think hard about something they are REALLY interested in. Even a basket with things like books, magazines/subscriptions, journal, pens, etc... it's just got to be personalized. That is so special... EDIT: One thing we got for Christmas that was so cute: A metal popcorn bowl filled with candy, microwave popcorn, blockbuster gift card and two DVDs. That was FUN!

Flower deliver to Stellenbosch Uni, South Africa?

A dear friend of mine is starting university at Stellenbosch in a few days. I would like to send her some congratulatory flowers and a gift basket. The only problem is that I live in Austin, Texas. Does anyone know of an online florist that is reliable and will deliver to the University. Or have any other suggestions? thanks
--------------------
You can use ''Interflora'', best to contact a branch near you in Austin, or, you can send an email to the branch in Cape Town where they will advise you accordingly. Here's the link: http://www.specialoccasions.co.za/del_ar… http://www.specialoccasions.co.za/interf…

What are some good ideas to throw into this auction basket?

The theme is "Flavors of the Northwest" and so far we have a GurglePot (if any of you have heard of those), it's a water pitcher that looks like a fish and gurgles when you pour (made by someone in Seattle. We also have a gift card to a kitchen shop and a gift certificate for two at a restaurant in Seattle. Any ideas of what to add would be very appreciated!
--------------------
Of course anything local; smoked fish; berry preserves. If it is staying local (no shipping) I always like cut flowers. Hope this helps.

Christmas Gift Ideas?

Okay I am looking for something easy I can get my friends for xmas [16/17 yr olds]. Now I have lil money so nothing expensive or any gift cards. I already did a movie themed gift last year. I am going to bake them all some cookies [any good recipes?] and something else that is cheap, maybe a basket of cute stuff? Uh, help please.
--------------------
How about a basket of cool pens, paper, highlighters etc. Since they are all still in school (or so I hope) and the stuff that they got at the beginning of the school year is pretty used up by this time, it would be nice to start back in January with fun stuff again.

13 Year Old Birthday Gift?

My friend is having a birthday party soon and I don't know what to get her! She is into swimming (she is on a competitive swimming team) she like Fruits Baskets (anime thing), and her favorite bands are Lincoln Park and Three Days Grace. She isn't really into makeup. Any ideas? Thank you so much!
--------------------
An album of one of those bands, or a book/film of her favourite anime? You could also get her jewellery, or a gift voucher for her favourite shop. Of course, you could always go with chocolate :)

GUYS?? Is this a good Valentine's gift?

My fiancee is really into movies, so I got him some movies he really wanted (The Guardian, Flags of Our Fathers, the Marine, Flyboys), a new motorcycle cover, all his favorite candy, and a lovely card. I put it all in a nice basket. Also, lots of lovin', of course. Good gift for a guy? He's kind of hard to buy for.

I'm not a guy, but I have been married for over 20 years and we have 3 sons. Yes, Yes and Yes you did extra great. He is lucky to have someone who thinks so much of him. Enjoy and Happy Valentines Day.

TEENS: do you have any ideas for mother's day gift?

ok so mothers day is on may 10th and i dont have any ideas what to give ot my mom im thinking about flowers but thats cliche i mean on her 50th birthday i got her a basket with 50 red roses and she was soo happy about it but you know flowers last for a week or 2 and they they get all dry so what i have in mind was to give her a perfume/fragrance she loves the light blue dolce and gabbana ( and i like the same fragrance but for men thats the only thing that i use) so im thinking about maybe that and a couple of red or yellow roses honestly i have no idea i have so many thing on my mind right now like all i can think of is that my 18th birth day is this Thurs. i am having some guests coming over and i dont have a cake ordered yet so im running like crazy just to get everything but do you think that she will be pleased with that kind of a gift ??
--------------------
Ooh Light Blue is very nice! If she likes it, you can't go wrong with it! Gift Certs are also good. not generic ones, but like to a nice spa for a massage or facial, or to a nail place to get a manicure/pedicure or something. I LOVE things like that!

christmas 2008 money and gift ideas??!!! please help!?

okay, so here it goes. i am 13 years old, and i am trying to save money for the upcoming x-mas (2008) i have 56$ so far, and i get 5 $ a week for allowance. my mom and i go shopping to the early bird specials in november after thanksgiving, and thats when i mainly do most of my shopping. i have about 5 or 6 friends to buy for, my mom, dad, my stepmom, and possibliy my 3 stepsisters. also probably my aunt and baby cousin and my great aunt. so all in all, a lot of people!!! if you could give me suggestions on some DIY christmas presents that i can do for my friends and everyone else. i have already seen like ideas for baskets and body scrubs and stuff, so i kind of need something original please!!! also if you can give me some tips on how to earn extra money, that would be great! i cant babysit because there are no little kids in my neighborhood, so that option is canecelled out. thank you so much for helping!! i really appreciate it!!!!!!! merry x-mas in a few months!!!
--------------------
When i was your age i use to gather up a couple of my friends and do carwahes as the shops. We used to make like $100 each. That was a good way to make money. Or maybe you could have a little garage sale, get all your family to donate old clothes and things and make some extra cash that way. As for the presents, i usually make babies forever boxes for presents. Just get a box, paint it & decorate it. Maybe put a few photos of the baby it is for on it & then they use that box to put all the things that person wants to keep forever. Like painting and little baby clothes and stuff.

What should I get for my teenage friends for Christmas?

I have about 4-8 friends that I need to buy presents for this Christmas. I usually do a little basket-type thing for each (last year, movie themed, the year before - homemade (bookmark and two bracelets)). This year, though, I'm lost for ideas. It's our senior year, and I want it to be good, but I have hardly any money ($10-15 max each) for the gifts. I want something unique - any ideas??? Thanks!

What are some great partying gifts for couples?

my boyfreind and i invited some other couples to go on a weekend getaway with us. I am going to give the couples thank you baskets upon our arrival. I already know that im gonna include in the basket: a bottle of wine with their names on them, votive candles, incense, picture frames, message oils. Please give me some of your creative ideas. Couples are married and over 21, so no kiddy stuff. Only grown and sexy!

Chocolate - nice chocolate! Whether you make some fudge or something else scrumptious or buy some gourmet chocolate, it is a must for every gift basket. :-) http://www.chocolate-candy-mall.com

I need help on deciding if this was a good gift idea or not?

I drew the name of a 24 year old girl for Secret Santa at work. She has a boyfriend and a child. So, I bought her a little basket that has some Movie Theater Box Candy, some bags of popcorn, two of the Holiday round cokes, and a $10 gift card to Blockbuster. Also in there is a red throw blanket and a snowman that is used to hang a Christmas stocking. I didn't know what to get her at all, so I figured she could use this to watch a movie or two with her boyfriend or son. I hope its a good idea. :/

very nice! I think it's great that you got something she can enjoy with her family

Can you give me ideas for a traditional indian baby gift?

I am a nurse and a physician who I work with and very much respect is expecting a child around thanksgiving. I am planning a mini celebration in our office and am taking up a collection to put together a baby basket with must haves for him and his wife. I thought it would be nice to include a traditional indian cultural gift with the other baby essentials and I understand that gold bangle bracelets are often given for the baby, however I am not certain if there are other meanings for colors and types or where I might get something. Online or I live in RI. Please advise thankyou
--------------------
Jewelry is a traditional gift, because gold has real value and adds to the child's (and the families" actual wealth. Flower garlands, Saffron and statues of Gods or Goddesses (I'd suggest Ganeshi) would also be nice (If the tradition is Hindu). However, if he is in America, he might also like a Savings bond for his child's education. It is difficult to know the right tradition because India has a very varied group of culture, with Muslim, Hindu and Seik groups, as well as Buddhists and unless you know the religion, it's hard to know the custom. I suspect he would real a card which says "Doctor, I have a great deal of respect for you and like you very much. It is a pleasure working for you and I hope some day your child will follow in your footsteps and become a great doctor. Here is a savings bond to get the savings for the babies education started."

DEFF. CANDY CANES! haha. Thank you so much!! Jordyn:]
--------------------
What I love to do for presents is go to target, get a couple cute bags like just 18$ bags, Then go to their 1$ section, I fill the bags with a ton of different fun things. Like body soap, cute socks, picture frames, jewelry. They will really enjoy all the cool stuff inside and then they still have the bag that you specially chose for each of them. Have fun with this!

I need to get my friend a nice and thoughtful gift, without breaking the bank. She's 15?

She wants a giftcard which I will get her, but i want to get her small other things, for like a basket.
--------------------
Does she have any interests/hobbies? Get something to fuel those. For example, my friend has loved photography for the five years that I've known her, so this year, I bought some matted picture frames on sale, and some inexpensive things to decorate them with -- I bought some pretty ribbon and hot glued it around the mat, then threaded it through some pendants I found at the craft store, hiding the ends underneath the pendant so it looked like a complete loop, and glued the pendant down in the corner. I threw in some dark chocolate Kisses (I know she can't resist them) among the tissue paper, and the whole project cost under $20. Also, most girls will love a cute "spa" basket. You can get sample-sized bath products from Bath and Body Works (Or anywhere, for that matter.) The dollar store has fun poufs and such. You could even throw in an inexpensive mug (also found for just a dollar) with a packet of hot cocoa and a candy cane (to stir with minty goodness for a treat to enjoy while she relaxes) and once again, you can achieve this for $10 or less.

Gifts for my groom to be?

I want to make a "gift basket" of sorts to give to my fiance before our wedding. I want some funny things and some useful things. Any ideas...?
--------------------
What about stuff for his breath..you know..for the first kiss! Breath mints, gum, and spray. Also, give him lots of socks with a note mentioning that he should be these on if he were to get "cold feet". Where are you going on your honeymoon? Maybe stuff he could use or wear there. Swimming trunks, lotion, sun glasses...if a beach. Binoculars, digital camera...for site seeing. Or if there is a place he would like to go or see on the honeymoon, you could send off for a gift card or print up one of your own to guarantee he gets to go there on the honeymoon. :)
