Any reviews on "the right cut"?

sooo i won a talent show and i got a huge basket and in there is a gift cer. w/ a free haircut and shampoo. are they okay??? do u know or do u go there? bc i really dont wanna have a bad haircut im going a whole diferent look and i need to know they are good thx
--------------------
You can have a bad stylist anywhere you go. The trick is asking the clients and finding out who is best suited for your type of hair. Recommendations are always good. Wait outside of the salon and catch people whose hair you like. Ask them who did the job, how long they have been seeing the person and who they think is the best in the salon. A regular will know.

Honeymoon basket....??

I planning on making my friend a "honeymoon" basket as part of her bridal gift. So far I have a teddy (lingerie), shot/wine glasses, a bottle of champagne, disposable camera, and lubrication. What other good ideas could I put in there? I want it to be cute, sentimental and a few gags. My mother-in-law made me one for my shower and she also put a pregnancy test and a condom in there. Any other ideas? What would you put in a basket if this was your best friend?
--------------------
Everybody has given really great ideas so far! If their honeymoon will be at the beach, include two pairs of newlywed flip flops. The pattern on the bottom of them leaves an imprint in the sand that says "Just Married" as the couple walks along the beach. They're adorable and practical! (We got some for our wedding shower.) You can find them online or at most major craft stores that have a bridal section.

Need help coming up with Anniversary basket present ideas!?

My grandparents are having an anniversary next weekend. My family has arranged for cabins to be rented for all of our family to go and spend the weekend together. We're all cooking out one night as part of the weekend fun, but in addition the kids (my parents and my cousin's parents) are putting together a basket with things like gift cards and a bottle of wine, etc., etc.. I was just trying to come up with some extra ideas as to what could go into the basket. We can't spend a ton of money because we're not rich. Anything would help, thanks!!

Grandparents always like receiving photos of their grandchildren. Especially nice, and appropriate, would be a collage of photos of each grandchild in one nice frame.

Get a basket and fill it yourself with toys that are appropriate for him and little packs of healthy foods he likes like the gerber snacks or raisins or whatever you're feeding him. It will be cute. Take pictures of him next to it so he can look back on it one day.

I want to get my french exchange family "english" gifts. Help please!?

I am leaving in 2 weeks , and i want to create a small gift hamper to take with me. I was thinking along the lines of Local honey , English breakfast tea and some shortbread biscuits in a nice wicker basket. What do you think i could add to this , and how can i make it special? Many thanks :)
--------------------
What a nice idea, maybe try some things that really are English?.... like marmite, gentleman's relish etc. They may not like them but they are typical?... how about a t towel from where you're from too?.... not expensive & something that will keep.

What is the etiquette for receiving food gifts?

My mother-in-law flew in for my daughter's birthday. She always likes to have snacks at hotels, so as a welcoming gift, I baked her a challah (braided egg bread) and gave it to her as we picked her up at the airport. She seemed very happy to get it ("Oh! You made me a challah!") and I felt really good about it. The next day, after the party, she said "I'm going to shellac the challah you made me and put it in one of my baskets." Thinking she was teasing, I said "I made it to be eaten!" with a smile. Then she said "But we didn't wrap it up, and it's too hard to eat!" (It was crusty, like Italian bread, when I took it out of the oven.) I was mortified, and somewhat offended. I was always taught that if you didn't like a gift of food, and you're not actually allergic to it, you dispose of it discreetly.
--------------------
I agree with you. It would have been more tasteful to not have mentioned the shellac at all, and thank you anway for your heartfelt gift, instead of mortifying you :)

I'd use bright colours like red/orange/yellow to cover the puja thalis and gifts, embellish with ghungroos, diyas, mirror, rangoli patterns and flowers. If you dont have fresh flowers or if you're doing it in advance, try using satin flowers instead of fresh ones! Good luck!

Why do we receive gifts on Easter?

I am a Christian, and I have always wondered but never really asked: why do we get gifts on Easter? Such as, baskets, chocolate bunnies, eggs... what do these have to do with the main point of the holiday?
--------------------
Those are social customs. It's like asking why we eat dinner after church on Sunday, or why we like to drink eggnog on Christmas. Many cultures do not hand out candy on Easter - that just happens to be the custom in part of the world. I do think it's funny when people call these customs "pagan." As I recall, the pagans never venerated a magic bunny who dispensed candy every spring. Oh, I see - now the lunar calendar is a pagan religious observance.

How do I deal with this?

My kids got a nice gift from proflowers.com that had cookies and fruit in basket, but I am REALLY offended because it included tea biscuits imported from Israel. That is about as appetizing as just sending me a bloody corpse in the mail. I do not buy or use ANY products from Israel if I can help it. What is the best way to voice my disapproval to proflowers.com? If I just call and just yell at some low level employee it probably won't make a difference. But seriously, tea biscuits are supposed to come from ENGLAND!
--------------------
Well, you could always write directly to the main company of proflowers.com, it might help you feel better. It would be better for your health if you just accepted the gift and tossed out the cookiees that offend you, as it was all meant as a wonderful gesture. Trying your best to find the good in things is so much better for your health and so less frustrating. You can reserve your right to never patronize this company again.

I am making a basket for my parents for Christmas...?

I am getting candy and something else for my dad and i have no clue for my mom. It has to be REALLY REALLY cheap and I want around the same money value for each (duh). Price range is about under $10 (for both of them together) since my brother and I are splitting (i think) for a restaurant gift certificate and I only have $20. Candy is cheap, and my dad likes candy so that's why. SO I need help with what other thing to get for my dad and the whole thing for my mom. And like I said about $5 dollars each. And we don't have any baskets around here so I might just throw it all into a box since i cant afford it :). I think that's it and I will add more details if I need to. All (or most) answers are appreciated. Thank you, and have a Merry Christmas.

Need help on things to put in a Valentine's date basket?

My boyfriend has to work on Valentine's day and I couldn't think of what to get him. I have been thinking about getting him a date in a basket, which I think is a lot better than a card with a gift card in it for a date (sort of like a get well basket, but for a date). I was going to get a basket from a hobby store and fill it with things for a date that we could have some other time. So I was going to get a gift card to a restaurant and then some other stuff, but I don't know what to do for the "other stuff". If I do movie passes, then it is a basket filled with two gift cards? That seems sort of lame. What could I put in it that takes more space? What other date ideas could I do other than a movie and dinner? What themes could I go with for other dates that I could make into a basket? THANKS!!!!!
--------------------
You should get a funny movie and then put popcorn in the basket, then you could get some thing like a huge "hersey's bar" or "kiss" and put that in there, you could also visit him at work if that would make his day.

How much would you pay for a basket/platter of holiday treats?

I'm bouncing around the idea in my head of making and selling baked holiday treats for some extra cash around the holiday season. I don't really know how I'd go about getting clients- but that's further down the road. I need to figure out if it would be worth it to buy the supplies- if the amount I would sell them for would offset the cost of the supplies and be worth the time in the kitchen (although I love baking, so I don't think I'd mind the time in the kitchen). In the baskets/platters I'd put An assortment of cookies Amish Sugar Cookies Chocolate Chip Cookies Gingerbread Cookies Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Drop Cookies ...etc... Peanut Brittle/Almond Brittle Rice Krispy Treats Stuffed Dates Reindeer Noses (small pretzels with a Hershey Kiss and M&M on top) Peanut Chews ...and other holiday treats. So, my question is, would you purchase something like this to give out as a gift or to have for yourself? If yes, how much would you pay for a small assortment, medium assortment, large assortmet. And what would you consider a small, medium, and large assortment. I would package them nicely with a holiday theme (Christmas, Hanukka, Kwanza, whatever your choice). I would also be open to the idea of shipping them as gifts. I'm also consider offering an assortment of pies. Peanut Butter Pie, Apple Crumb Pie, Pumpkin Pie, etc. Any advice/insight you could offer would be great! Thanks for taking the time to read!
--------------------
I am a nut for homemade gifts and I tell you right now I would pay $50 for the platter you described. I have paid 30.00 for a small 40.00 for a medium and 50.00 for a large look at Pepperidge farm their stuff is not cheap and I bet yours is better.

Thank-you email for Christmas basket?

Every year for Christmas, my boss has me make 22-25 very stuffed baskets for other architectural and engineering firms that we collaborate with. No expense is spared and they are quite nice. This year, two of the firms receptionists sent us a quick email saying something like "Hi, we at (insert firm name) want to thank you for the basket." Is it just me, or does that just seem kind of rude..to thank someone for a big gift by email? Would it be too hard for them to just send a real thank-you card, even a small one? Maybe I am making a big deal about nothing..but it seems bad etiquette. This isn't just "Oh hey, thanks for setting up that meeting.."
--------------------
I would be making the baskets a little differently next year. Two peaches with a banana poking out between them or something.

Most people are on a budget of some kind. I would put an appropriate amount of stuff in each basket in order for you to make 40 percent profit per gift. Have you considered making a gluten-free or peanut free basket? Gifts can be hard to come by for those with allergies. Have a $24.99 price point, $39.99, and a $69.99 price point or something like that. I would also vary the ribbons to appeal to men and women. In the higher priced baskets I would put a candle or something lasting like a tin inside. Game day baskets would probably do well with your nearest NFL, NBA or NHL team. Men love to buy these things, I hate to be sexist but its true. They usually wait till the last minute they have their wives and mothers and coworkers to buy for. I'd make a bunch of them up and go where the men are, bowling alley or something like that. Anybody you know work in a office? You could also pop in small businesses and see if yu can sell that way. You could also offer to sell through church or PTA with a percentage kickback for the org.

OK so my friend just had a baby this week, so for Christmas I am making her a basket with a gift card to get a new outfit, a bottle of wine, a pair of movie tickets, a gc to a resturaunt and I was going to include like a "coupon" for one night of babysitting, their choice of day, so her and her bf can have a night out but I dont know what to write on the "coupon" Any ideas on how to word it?
--------------------
This coupon entitles the bearer (you) to ONE NIGHT OF BABYSITTING (free!) so that you two can have a night out (yay)! Day and time to be arranged MERRY CHRISTMAS! [For an extra "oomph", make the coupon out of construction paper or computer graphics. Have fun!]

For people who are getting their children gifts for their Easter basket.?

Here is what I got for them so far. I have an almost 2 year old step-daughter and a 15 month old son. I got them both bubbles, flip flops and sun glasses. I also got my step-daughter two tank tops. I'm still looking for something for my son. I'm probably going to get her some undies and a pair of shorts to finish it off and a little candy. For my son I will probably get some sort of toy I can't decide which yet and something for the bath or outside. We are sending my step-daughters stuff home with her this holiday because we are running out of space here. So what do you think? Thanks. What are your kids getting?
--------------------
sounds good to me. instead of an actual easter basket i am using a sand pail as my sons basket, and inside i am putting a shorts outfit, a pair of sandle/flip flops, bath squirter toy, and i will be getting some of his favorite Gerber Graduate snacks instead of candy since he will only be 17 1/2 months on easter, and doesnt need candy. maybe i ll get some for myself. lol! you gave me an idea about the sun glasses. ill have to get a pair since it goes with sort of the beach theme of his "basket". we are going to hawaii in may, so i thought a beachy theme for easter would be perfect. and im still planning on getting a small bottle of bubbles and a pack of thoes crayola crayons that are made for toddlers. happy easter!

what does it mean when she wants to be your valentine?

back in 7th grade this girl tried to be my valentine. me and my friend were going to the basketball courts at recess and her friend asked for me to come over. my friends name is the same as mine so i thought it was for him. as he went over her friend said no the other guy. as i saw her she was smiling and had a basket of gifts a teddy and some roses. when i saw her i felt really nervous and thought she was the most beautiful girl ive ever seen. her friend was pointing at me and i panicked and ran. did i break her heart? i found out that she hasnt had a boyfriend. does she still like me? girls are confusing.
--------------------
Ha! I like the last part, I think you guys are. But maybe that's what we like about you, who knows? I'm a 8th grader, I don't know how long ago 7th grade was for you, but, you should talk to her. Girls remember things like that. Running away, yeah, I bet that hurt, but If you talk to her and don't machine it...she would appreciate it. I think you should, but that's my personal opinion. Oh, an a valentine, that's a way of admitting you like them. Hoping in return you two would go out.
