What else can I put in this gift basket?

I'm flying across the country to visit my aunt tomorrow morning. She paid for my plane tickets, so I thought it'd be a nice idea to make her a gift basket. So far, I have a few bars of this really good extra-pure soap from France, bath milk, a bath soap with sea salts, gourmet loose-leaf tea, a tea tumbler, and two gluten-free cookbooks. All of it is in a nice bamboo serving tray instead of a basket. Problem is, there's a huge empty space. What else is there I can put? No chocolate/candles, please! It also can't be too breakable, since it'll be in a suitcase.
--------------------
Something that I was given for xmas that I've loved ever since was a glass nail file. It's lasted so long and they work great! You could pick her up one of those, and maybe a pumice stone (a nicer one) and pick some nail polishes or something. Anything a girl can use on herself to make herself smell good / feel nice is always a hit :D

I'm making a gift-basket. So far I made cranberry orange bread and orange marmalade. I need a 3rd item.?

I'd like it to all be food. I am a vegetarian so I don't eat or cook meat. Thank you!
--------------------
Gourmet coffee Herbal tea bags Honey butter You could also include something reusable for them to recreate it...like a silicone bread pan, and the recipes for your items. Despite your request to all be food...they will use something like this for years to come!

Mary Kay reps...what is a good way to sell Mary Kay when you can't have parties?

I have three kids and nobody to watch them. What is another way I can sell the makeup? I used to do it a long time ago and would like to do it again. I have thought about doing gift baskets or passing the books out to offices where a lot of women work. Are there any other ways?
--------------------
The best thing you can do is hold the party at your home or do the gift basket, passing out of books, start your web page on marykay.com. Another you can do is pass out your business cards and along with it have a sample to give them. I have a mary kay website.

Christmas gift ideas for roommates?

The semester is wrapping up and we're all headed home. Of course, I'm the last one to get gifts for my roommates! I live with three women. We aren't spending more than $10. One roommate got me a yankee candle, the second got me a burts bees gift set, and the third a fragrance from victorias secret. Figures that I completely forgot. I was just at the store (Walmart) but I want to get some other than gift baskets. We have plenty of stores around--so any ideas for gifts under $10?... I'm not very good at gift giving, usually I just ask what someone wants and go get it for them. I'm in a crunch as my one roommate leaves tomorrow! Help.

Mother's Day Gift Ideas??

I kno that Mother's Day isnt until May 11th, but i work for Avon and i want'd to get an early start since that is the next big holiday (also make a very good profit). anyways, i want'd your opinion. What would you put into a gift basket if it was for your mom?? Any ideas would be useful. I have to make small baskets, medium and large baskets. How much should i sell them for?? Alot of stuff is able to fit into the baskets from Avon. Also where can i buy stuff to wrap the baskets, like with them in clear plastic and they are in baskets. Where can i buy that stuff?? Thank you so much! If you need any more details or have any great ideas please let me kno!! Thank you So Much in Advance!!
--------------------
Give mother's something that they really need or want. Some say all the time that they need this or that. They don't want to ask for things because that's the way mother's are. Give her a gift card to Walmart or some restaurant that she likes. Most mother's don't want their children to go into debt for them; but it would be really nice to be remembered.

Creative way to wrap a bowl?

Getting a bowl and putting a bunch of goodies with it. Should I just make the bowl a "gift basket" and put a bunch of stuff in it then tie celophane or should I wrap everything seperately? Any creative ideas? Something different than the ordinary?
--------------------
That sounds like a perfect gift. I would keep it as simple as possible so it wont take away from the pretty bowl. I would add some shredded colored tissue paper to the bottom so the bowl wont scratch and it gives it a nice presentation and then just like you said - put a bunch of stuff in it then tie celophane, maybe add a card. Anything more would be overkill!

What gift should I buy for my sister's baby shower? She's having a girl; please read the details. Thanks!?

I've already gotten her quite a few things, and I have a couple ideas for a last gift but I'm not sure if I should get her anything else (I don't want to get too much, if that's possible! lol), or which idea I should use. Here is what I've already gotten: A swing A robe (for the baby) Diaper rash cream Disposable spoons Heat sensitive spoons A teething feeder Gas drops Bowls Nighttime washcloths Regular washcloths A book And I'm paying for half of her shower My ideas are: - A gift certificate for the baby to have her photos taken - A lot of little things that people forget (the gas drops, nail clippers, Orajel, more diaper rash cream, etc.) - Or, they have a two story house, so I'm thinking of making two baskets that have everyday things in them (bottles, diapers, creams, formula, bibs, etc.) so they can have one upstairs and one downstairs so that she doesn't have to run up and down the stairs all day. Do you think I should get her another gift? If so, which of my ideas do you think would be best? Thank you so much!
--------------------
It sounds like you've done more than plenty, but I can understand wanting to buy more. I was pregnant when I attended 2 different baby showers and still managed to go overboard! I really like the gift certificate idea. Those first pictures are some of the most precious. You could also get her something like a gift card to somewhere with a list of commonly forgot items, that way if someone did get her a year's supply of diaper rash cream, you aren't just adding to that. You'd be suprised at how easy it is to get too much of one thing and none of another. The basket idea is also very cute and very creative, but you might be better off just buying the baskets and helping her assemble them herself. That way she can just fill them with things she got at the shower and you can help her purchase missing items. That way again, she doesn't have too much of one thing and not enough of another. Good luck and congrats on the upcoming neice!

A good parting gift for my brother?

He's leaving for Iraq....I want to make him a goody basket that he can take with him. He's 25 and an officer in the Army, what do you think would be helpful to him?
--------------------
like every one else he will be taking pretty much what he can carry with him so would keep the "goody basket" down to the bare minimum is you can, maybe a nice photo album with pictures of all the family if you have time maybe each person could put in a little note from them to him [think sort of like a scrap book but small scale] and then once he has gone start getting a weekly parcel ready of his fave stuff, also some baby wipes and think of things that he likes but might be hard to get hold of over there, maybe a new book of his fave author that sort of thing.............but try and make sure it is pretty much all disposable as when he comes back again he will not be able to carry too much. My son is there [or close ish] and I have been sending deodorant [they don't have the one he likes over there] I get the little travel sizes of some of the items he likes, plus some silly stuff to share out with the others all of which other than letters and pictures he can give on to the next guys or dump out...................also when I do buy him something I send a picture of it and let him know it is waiting for him when he gets back.

What to give to a company's anniversary?

It will soon be one of my client's company 40th anniversary at the end of this month. I am unsure if I will be able to attend, but I am thinking of sending over a congratulations gift. In Asia, we usually send flowers or baskets of goods in such occasions. I was wondering if there would be any difference in western or in particular, european countries? What exactly would the best gifts to a company's anniversary: flowers, wine, basket of goods? If flowers' the answer, would you happen to know any famous or prestigious flower companies in Europe. I've heard something about Armani flowers... any help would be very useful, thank you!
--------------------
I would say a plant. You could say that you hope the plant grows as much as the company.

Valentines gift for kids. Is it necessary in this day of hardships?

There seems to be an occasion for EVERYTHING! My daughter is 2 and happy to just be near me. My sister spoils her kids and gives them gift for every occasion even if it's her last dollar. I'm a little more budget minded than her. For Valentines Day I plan to make cupcakes for my small family of 3 and go to a nice dinner. I've already told my husband of 7 years that he doesn't need to buy me flowers which has been the norm for several years now. It saves money.. plus I can never keep them alive more than a few days. There won't be any gift exchanging between us.. we usually save the gifts for mother's day, father's day, birthdays, and christmas. So what I'm trying to get at is after Valentines is Easter which is another holiday of spending money on toys, baskets, candies, dresses and eggs. Is it really necessary for Valentines Day? Will I be the only "uncool" mom who won't give her poor kid a gift.
--------------------
For a two year old, she'll be thrilled to just have a yummy cupcake or two, and none of her little friends or their parents will critisize you, in fact, they may even envy your cooking efforts.~ Don't worry about being an ''uncool'' mom over a holiday. I'm still a kid and in my books a mom is amazing as long as she listens to me when I need to talk to somebody and stands up for me when I'm being wronged. :3

Going to be an aunt for the first time, NEED HELP!?

I am going to be an aunt in two months and i have started on a gift basket for my nephew, but not sure of what i should really buy. What are some of the items i should get for the gift basket that will be useful for the new parents and the baby?
--------------------
Go through the baby department at Wal-Mart. Lots of things that new parents can never get enough of include: baby wash baby lotion baby wipes Balmex baby powder cloth diapers - they can be used as burp towels diapers onesies - buy larger than newborn b/c they quickly outgrow these baby bottles - several different sizes (or liners if the parents choose the ones with the disposable liners) nursing pads (if the mother is going to breastfeed your nephew) receiving blankets crib sheets (you can never have enough of those around) baby shampoo (no-tears formula) baby shampoo (the kind for cradle cap) baby nail clippers nasal aspirator (blue bulb looking thing) teething rings mittens for their hands to keep them from scratching their faces socks or booties to keep their feet warm cap or hat if you live in a cooler climate ... the list can go on & on ... If you wanted to include something for the parents use only, you might try getting a gift certificate for their favorite restaurant and include a certificate offer your services as a babysitter for the night to allow them some time to themselves.

Good non-desert things for a food basket?

I am making as a gift a gift basket of baked goods, and home-made non-perishables. I need some non-desert things to make that can last a while. Also, I would like a recipe for watermelon konfyt that has no pickling lime. Also, some non-edible ideas to go with would be great.

What should I get my 20-year-old boyfriend for our 6-month anniversary?

I'm thinking I might make him a basket with movie gift cards and candy and the movie we saw on our first date (Iron Man aha). And then put it all in one of those tubs that you can buy at Blockbuster and stuff. Is that a good idea, or is it too corny? Any other suggestions?
--------------------
Girls should never waste their money buying boys gifts. THese relationships come and go like the wind. Put your money in the bank and save it for yourself. Believe me, with this economy the way it is, don't blow your money. If you're married, its a different story. This 6 month anniversary is a big deal to YOU, not to him. Boys don't care about that relationship muck. Just drop it and don't bring it up again. Only if he brings it up, then let him buy YOU a gift. Teddy bears? OMG! what a huge waste of money.

A guy in my office I don't know well has a wife who miscarried a 7 month term baby.?

People who work with him directly are collecting donations for a gift basket and flowers-- how much is appropriate to contribute?
--------------------
I'd say $10 should be quite sufficient from your side of the donations. I really extend my condolenses to the man and his wife. Hope they recover from this loss.
