Gift basket for mothers day...?

So, my mom is starting a new job in an office and for mothers day I want to put together a "for the office gift basket" sort of thing. I plan on getting a coffee thermos thing, a picture frame with a picture of my family...and im not sure what else. ANY IDEAS??? anything will help. Thank youuuu :)
--------------------
Well you could of course add office supplies, such as a stapler, staple puller, pens, post it notes (the ones shaped as hearts, flowers, etc are cute!), you could also add some of her favorite candies/snacks. Also you could add some small things that she could eat with her lunches. I don't know about her work environment, but if she would be allowed, maybe a cd with some of her favorite songs (i know my mom can listen to music at work as long as it isnt offensive). Also, I don't know if she would have a bulletin board but they make really cute push pins now as well, in different colors and shapes. If you are getting her a coffee thermos, maybe her favorite creamer, if she likes it? Or a small container of her favorite coffee.

What is a nice gift to mail to a friend who has cancer?

My friend, sadly, has cancer. She is so young (in her twenties). What are nice ideas for gifts I can get her? (Keep in mind that I'll be mailing the gift since she lives far away, i.e., it can't be a fresh basket of fruits, etc.). Also, what are ways in which I can show support?
--------------------
It depends on how much money you would like to spend . . any technology gift such as a Kindle or Ipod would be welcome . . laptop of course (maybe too expensive but she might appreciate software or a computer game). If you are watching your pocket than you might consider sending a nice warm and pretty quilt or blanket to wrap up in. Other things she might appreciate at this time . . scarves, fuzzy socks, big soft sweater, her own mug or water thermos she can refill . . a carry bag filled with items she might need in the hospital such as lip balm, lotion, toothbrush, toothpaste, throat lozenges, pad of paper, pen, crossword puzzles, and maybe small snacks. You can show support by just being her friend . . treating her the same way you have always treated her. Call her. Send email. Send cards. Just be her friend.

What is the best gift you recieved at your baby shower?

I'm putting together a basket full of things like bottles, diapers, wipes etc for an expectant friend and want to know what everyone's favorite gift that they recieved. (I also plan on doing a camera and some store gift cards for formula or whatever others forgot.)
--------------------
I think the most thoughtful gift I received for my shower was a silver spoon and fork set along with a Baptism outfit. My gramma got us a really nice keepsake baby knitted blanket. Other than that diapers and wipes were the most useful.

What goodies do people actually want when they get their holiday food baskets?

My family is planning to do more this year to stock the local food pantries. What do people want and what are they going to send back when it is their turn to donate next year. We want people to be happy for the holidays, not to plan to "re-gift" food.
--------------------
I have no idea what a holiday food basket is.However, I think you should buy what you like and that should be a good start.

What would a pediatrician like as a gift from her clients?

I would like to get her a gift but I really don't know what. I don't want to take her a basket of fruit or chocolates she is great with my kids so please give me some great gift ideas. Thanks

Pediatricians are happiest when their brains are being stimulated by reading books. Buy her a gift card from Amazon books or Barnes & Noble book store, or something like that.

gift idea help for a great doctor?

i cant stress enough how fantastic the doctor that delivered the baby is, the delivery could have gone really really bad because of how big she was and how small i am, even the forceps he used were outrageously risky bt he did everything perfectly. the man is awesome. so I want to like make him a gift basket or leave something for him at his office but i cant think of what. something personal but not too personal. cookies? wine? i dunno. any suggestions?
--------------------
Its really nice you want to recognize the expertise and professionalism that your doctor showed while he delivered your baby, but its their job. Having said that, I would suggest to make a donation to your favorite charity or the hospital where you gave birth in honor of the doctor who delivered your baby. S/he will receive a letter stating that a donation in their name was given by you to their organization in thanks. Giving a personal gift could be a treading on boundary issues and that could make things a bit sticky. Who could argue with the generosity of a donation to charity in the name of the doctor? Congrats on the birth of your healthy baby! (((hugs)))

Hawaiian (specifically Oahu) Gift Basket?

My sister is going to Oahu right after her birthday and I was thinking of making her a Hawaiian Survival Gift basket. Do you guys have any ideas of small things I could put in it? (please note I'm on a budget) Thanks!
--------------------
I have fair skin and when I went to Hawaii the most important thing I packed was sunscreen. You can also give her a bottle of aloe in case she does burn, it soothes and cools the skin and helps it heal. Also, since she will probably take lots of pictures, why not give her disc for her digital camera so she can download the pictures when she gets back, or a small photo album if she prints out her pictures.

Gift basket ideas.... ?

I want to make a gift basket for my pregnant friend who is on bed rest her last trimester. What are some things I can include that would keep her occupied?
--------------------
Crossword puzzles, books, movies, a soft blanket (one she can share with baby one day) a bath robe and slippers that she can wear to the hospital when she has the baby.. if you can get a copy of an ultrasound picture, put that in a frame (I've seen some really cute frames at Hallmark that look like movie reels that say "coming soon" for the ultrasound pic and then "newly released!" for the first pic of baby), some calm CDs, and you could also make coupons for her =) "good for one night of babysitting" or "good for one cooked dinner" of "good for one load of laundry, washed and folded" etc..It would probably put her mind to ease just a little bit to know that once she has the baby, she can redeem those coupons when she needs some extra help! haha =) If she is having any cravings, try to include some of those foods in the basket also. Hope that helps!

What's a unique gift for an expecting mother?

My friend is having a baby shower this weekend and I'd like to get her an awesome gift she'll remember. Any ideas? She told me that the baby has enough clothes to last a while, so that's out of the question. I'm pretty creative, and I've seen some really cute personalized baskets full of goodies. I'd prefer to stay under $20. What would you suggest??

Give her a new DVD or a great new book and put it in a cute bowl (you could get one at Target, Walmart, or even dollar store) Include candy, popcorn... Books... I guess it's hard to know what she has or doesn't have. Twilight is a great series that almost every teenaged girl loves. She may like the Vampire Academy books Fablehaven The Uglies series (the Uglies, The Pretties, The Specials) Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants DVD: something cute BEE MOVIE The Incredibles 101 Dalmations something funny like Monty Python Holy Grail something fun like 10 Things I Hate About You Freaky Friday (with Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis) Take the Lead Harry Potter Pirates of the Caribbean XMen

gift basket ideas?

looking for ideas to fill baskets for a church auction. men, women, kids, couples... I need your creative side! help!
--------------------
ahhh - let's see - been a while since I did a basket, but.. For a man - sports viewing snack basket - add a banner from a popular local sports team, get a gift certificate from a local pizza delivery place, assortment of chips, nuts, etc. For a woman - pampering set - get various bath products, back brush, loofa sponge, lotions, a unique towel and washcloth set - Target has these cool appliqued ocean creatures- and a scented candle. Couples - romantic getaway basket - couple of wine glasses, a local wine (everyone has a local wine now!), gift certificate to a good local restaurant and if you want to make it an expenisve basket, a gift certificate for tickets to a local theater production. assortment of high end crackers, cheeses. Craft basket - pick a craft, fill it with supplies for that craft - popular ones - beading, quiltng, scrapbooking Kids - outdoors basket - chalks, bubbles, sandbox toys, nerf balls, water guns, frisbee, freezer popsicles Doll basket - make it like a bed - I actually have a pattern for taking a container and making it into a a "purse' that turns into a dolly bed. Car(toy(basket - Hot wheels used to make all these neat little sets for roads, buildings, etc Pirate basket Dress up baskets - boys baskets and girls baskets - a cape in bright colors for either (have a pattern for that too), a robin hood cap or pirate hat, a sash, easy to make "skirts" with elastic waistbands, a pirate shirt, a wizard hat and robe, plastic sword, fairy wings, wands, etc - all kinds of things like that. All these could be fairly expensive to compile, especially if you can get donations for those gift certificates. If you would like the patterns, contact me.

It is hard to say, but I suggest you think about what she would like or what she has liked in the past. Don't focus on the fact that she has cancer. The gift is for her not the cancer.
