Question for pregnant women/new mums! What to buy for a baby shower for the baby & mum!?
My friend is having a baby and ive got some clothes (4 shirts, a tracksuit set, mittens, shoes, leggings, bath frame support, hooded bath towel and washcloth for her little girl. Any suggestions on what else to get for the baby? Something inexpensive as i have already spent quite a lot of money. I also wanted to get a gift for mummy. I know she is feeling quite overwhelmed and left out as every conversation she has with anyone is just about the baby etc! I thought it would be nice if i got something for her to let her know we havent forgotten about her! I was thinking of making a gift basket and putting a few items into it for her but i am not a mummy so i have absolutely no idea what to put in it. HELP! So mummies to be and new mummies.. what would you want for yourself? & what else would be a great help for baby?

Its on wednesday, and i know she'd been hinting about a new wedding ring so i let onto my dad, and im gonna try and make him get an appointment thing, so he can take her to get a new wedding ring. My grandmothers birthday is coming up, any suggestions?
My grandmother has done everything for me and I love her more than words. But, I recently moved to Florida and she lives back home in Iowa, so I want to send her her birthday gift via mail. She loves everything vanilla, and I wanted to make a little gift basket filled with vanilla things for her. I was thinking... Vanilla Candles Vanilla perfume Vanilla cookies... what else? Or any other ideas? She is a strong Christian woman, she doesnt really cook much, she loves eating out, staying busy, working in her garden, working on crafts, and right now she and Grandpa are completely remodeling their entire house. Birthday present for boyfriend's best friend?
My boyfriend's best friend is having a party in a couple weeks. I know he already likes me, but I want to get in good with him because I know he's a great person, and I respect him a lot. He already graduated from college, doesn't really like sports, and is a pretty tough movie critic... I was thinking about making a cool gift basket (I rock at these thigns!) and putting stuff in it like a bottle of nice vodka (grey goose) a gift card to a movie theatre by his house, and maybe some other random small things, like homemade choc chip cookies. MEN OUT THERE!! any ideas or suggestions? This guy's a big health guru so I might skip the cookies, I only hangout out with him maybe once or twice a month so I don't know him extremely well. What should I get my boyfriend's parents for christmas?
I have been with my boyfriend for 2 years and I want to get his family something for christmas. He has one brother and his parents are together. So far I have a bottle of wine and a reed scent diffuser. I was thinking I would put a gift basket together for them with some home made cookies. Any ideas what else I could put in the basket? Also what should I get his brother? He is 20 and lives at home. Also I dont have much money.

Well the home made cookies in a basket sounds like a really good idea. You could also make each peron a Christmas card. Maybe just get them some Christmas biscuits or something small, I bet his parents would like that. I'm trying to sooth the situation in a church that I got kicked out of...?
This week I e-mailed 7 people out of the 20 who go to house church and none of them would give me the house church schedule... I e-mailed a guy I really liked and care about and told him I was no longer going to that church because nobody wanted me there and that I sitll wanted to be friends with him after I left the church and he didn't even bother to reply. And today... one of the elders (who was given instructions to exclude me from bible studies) e-mailed me the contact details for our next bible study but would not e-mail me the full schedule and addresss for this month (which they were instructed not to give me) So I thought... to make up for everyone hating me... I could buy everybody a 20 dollar gift certificate to red lobsters... and maybe give the pastor a gift basket with lots of different things in it (since his mother died this week) I was also thinking I could give a 300 dollar tithe when I go to church this week and personally hand it to the pastor so that he knows exactly how much money I give... I do not want to get kicked out of this church... and there is only one person there who has many any effort at all... to keep me in the church now that I've been "kicked out" by the pastor... I feel so betrayed by that guy that I liked that he wants nothing to do with me and feel foolish for ever thinking he could like me or want anything to do with me...

Parents, what is the item that was most useful to you with a new baby?
A friend of ours had a baby girl yesterday, we will probably go see her today or tomorrow. I thought that I would take a little gift basket to her, which already has a blanket, sheet, some "lively links" and a couple toys that make noise when you squeeze them. I know she probably won't care about the noise makers for a while, but they were cute. There is a little room left in the basket, and there is also a shower planned for sometime in the near future. So... as a new parent, what is the one thing that you were most grateful to have?

I did foster care and never had newborns, but was a new parent many times.. Here are a few suggestions she might like. Diapers/wipes and such. Or a gift card to like Target Amazon or toys r us so she can get something she needs.. (stuff I am still happy to get with my 5 boys!!!) If she reads, some good books so she will take some ME time instead of all Baby time which will wear her our even more!! For her some bubble bath salts to relax with while her hubby watches the baby for a little while. I got these for a good friend of mine and her husband, my old fishing buddy, called me a few weeks later and wanted to know where to get more, as that was a perfect thing to help his wife unwind and be more human as he put it. And extra memory card for their digital camera, as they will take a TON of pictures now!!! And maybe a book on how to take better pictures so more of them will look better and be in focus... :) Now some funny ideas that are very helpful and she will get a laugh out of hearing about and later realize how right they were... A roll of duct tape.. It has a LOT of uses... Including keeping kids in 1 place and better behaved. At least threating them with it helps too. A good stiff shot of brandy to help her sleep when she needs it!!! Ear Plugs.... sleeping pills to get sleep, or maybe that will help the kids sleep better... You think it but would never give it to them.... headphones, to listen to the music and not hear the kids arguing and shouting!!! Flyers for summer camps and boarding schools...... Hope all is well and that they enjoy the new addition to the family!!!

Guys: What do you mean when you call a girl "sweet"?
Someone I've had a lot of phone/online communication with is about to become a dad, so I pulled a gift basket together. Nothing major, but I'm good at that sort of thing. I wanted to get it to him before Father's Day, but our group's split between four different locations and I'm not scheduled to trek out there till July, after the baby's due date. Anyway, I ask this guy at my location if he can drop it off since he'll be up there soon. He agrees -- he always agrees when I ask him a favor. Since I figured he would, I got him a very small thank you gift also, wrapped it nicely, etc. Again, nothing major, but something I knew he'd like and use over the summer. He stares at it, smiles brightly enough to light up the room, then looks down, shuffling his feet like a little kid. "You didn't have to do that." he says, then takes a long time to take it from my hand, touching my hand in the process. He smiles again, more shyly this time, and says, "Aww, that's so sweet! Thank you." then carries it around with him up and down the hall while chatting it up with me in a really animated way, which is unusual since he's usually more quiet/reserved. What just happened? That touch was...incredible, but what might he mean by "sweet"? (I thought "sweet" was reserved for something a child does, but it doesn't seem to fit the context here.)

I was at this baby store and this lady in a nice business suit was shopping for someones baby shower in the same aisle as I.. She asked what would be a nice gift for someone ahe didnt really know that well and i pointed to this cute Johnson&Johnson's Gift basket that was filled with J&J bathwash, lotion, baby oil, baby powder and etc. She gave me this horrified look and said she worked for Johnson&Johnson and that there isn o way she would ever buy their products. What did my dream mean last night?
ok so on March 24 my school is getting High School Applications back. and ive been stressing over it. i NEED to get into Towsend Harris (if you dont noe: its like the bestest high school ever) so last night i had a really weird dream where we didnt get the applications in March. we got it on the last day of school. and in real life usually we r allowed to open the application at school. but i say im going to open it at home becuz in case i dont get in no body will see me cry. but in the dream no body was allowed to open it at school. and each person instead of getting an application we got a gift basket and inside the basket were presents for ur teachers ur going to have. a special penicil etc. now there was a strip of paper in a little see through box. and on the strip of paper is supposed to be our results and this is what mine sed: 2. Towsend (here was a drawing of a box. whatshud of been there is Harris) H.S 5.2 and in the dream i rmember i was extremley confused. but wen i opened it, it was the morning of the next day and my friend gaby (that i dont talk to tht much) calls me to ask what i got in to. then i open it and i respond to "i wonder why i didnt open it yesterday. must of forgot." then i see my results and i got confused. and after i went to my old elementary school. i dont noe why i went there. but i did. i told my friend who goes to towsend harris about my dream and she sed tht a lot of kids feel boxed in wen they go there? maybe tht has some relation to the box ?

Will he feel out done?
I told my boyfriend that I'd like to take him out on Saturday (before Valentine's day). He seemed surprised, but excited. We've been together for 3 months and I want to do something special for him and show how much he's appreciated. He's not the best at planning things and that's where I excel. Here's what I have planned: • Once he comes home from work, I will greet him with a Victoria's Secret gift card with a note that says "You Pick!" • We will head to the mall so he can pick something out for later that night. • Next we'll have dinner at a cozy fondue restaurant. • We will finish the evening at a 4 star hotel (I've already booked the room) where I will have a pleasure inspired gift basket waiting (robes, candles, bath stuff, etc.). I'm trying to make my boyfriend this gift basket - and one of the gifts was a card that said "i love you" in a lot of different languages.. First let me say Congratulations! You've a bundle of joy on the way. You could buy those little Thank You cards that come in a pack (so you don't have space to write too much!) and say thank you for their sweetness, kindness and thoughtfulness, and how much you and your husband appreciate that. As to the treat, it depends on your budget and whether you intend to throw a little party when the baby is one month old (some people do that). Maybe order some cupcakes with the baby's name on each? How do I make play-dough?
I'm putting together a birthday gift set (all handmade) for my niece. So far, I've made these nice velvet flowers, a pretty clay pot, a doll, and a couple of bracelets. She loves play dough, and I would love to include that as well. I know it can be made at home, so would you please give me step by step instructions on how to do so? Thanks! I have no idea what to get my bf for Valentines day..help?
So I have been going out with my boyfriend for almost 6 months and i have no idea what to do for him for valentines day. I dont want to just get an ordinary gift cause hes very hard to shop for (i found out christmas shopping) so im looking for something thoughtful and unique. maybe some sort of gift basket with candy,cookies,pictures of us and whatever else in it. Hi, It's really refreshing to come onto Yahoo answers and find that somebody who's being going out with their partner for more than 2 weeks. Very good. I've been going out with my girlfriend for about 11 months now, and I really wouldn't mind getting not getting anything for Valentines day, it's really not a big deal for me. We're just going to an Indian restaurant and having a nice meal, but if she was to get me anything, a bit of chocolate or a little alcohol would be a good gift. But I don't want anything, I'd rather us just go for a nice meal and that's a nice night for us. I guess for a rather long answer this hasn't really answered your question, Just get the normal like, aftershave or...yeah what you said is good, a gift basket of 'candy' or a nice T-shirt or something. Erm, I'm sorry I've not been any help haha, just personal opinion. A video game =D, Brownies...yes!

Do you think I should do this to prevent my pastor from kicking me out of church?
This week I e-mailed 7 people out of the 20 who go to house church and none of them would give me the house church schedule... I e-mailed a guy I really liked and care about and told him I was no longer going to that church because nobody wanted me there and that I sitll wanted to be friends with him after I left the church and he didn't even bother to reply. And today... one of the elders (who was given instructions to exclude me from bible studies) e-mailed me the contact details for our next bible study but would not e-mail me the full schedule and addresss for this month (which they were instructed not to give me) So I thought... to make up for everyone hating me... I could buy everybody a 20 dollar gift certificate to red lobsters... and maybe give the pastor a gift basket with lots of different things in it (since his mother died this week) I was also thinking I could give a 300 dollar tithe when I go to church this week and personally hand it to the pastor so that he knows exactly how much money I give... I do not want to get kicked out of this church... and there is only one person there who has many any effort at all... to keep me in the church now that I've been "kicked out" by the pastor... I feel so betrayed by that guy that I liked that he wants nothing to do with me and feel foolish for ever thinking he could like me or want anything to do with me...

How do I find legit wholesalers to start my business?
I am interested in starting a Gift Basket business. I need to find a wholesaler who offers a large selection of gift ware and other such products. All of the sites I find require membership fees just to get a list of wholesalers. (I think those are scams). And the others require you to sign up by offering up your business info before they will let you see prices ect. I don't have any business info yet as I am just in the process of doing research. I can't do research if they won't even let me see the prices! How do companies like Party Packagers find their suppliers?

The Party Packagers probably set up the business first and then got in touch with suppliers or they had connections, or they had a related business and already knew pricing. For you, I would say that no matter what the prices are you can always make money if you market to the right people with the right angle. Then you can set the price you want and make the money you want.

So I have been dating this guy, and he just lost his father....?
I was unable to attend the viewing and funeral because of work and then I had class. So I had a candy gift basket and card delievered to him. I know he is going through a really hard time right now, but I haven't heard from him in 2 days? He told me thanks and everything for the basket, and told me that he could always use to company to come by anytime. So I texted him this afternoon to see if he would be home and he never responded?? I want to give him his space, but I also want him to know that I am here for him (like I have told him 20 times) but I don't want to be smothering at ALL. So what do ya'll think I should do??Wait for him to call or just back off??

Continue to assure him you are always there for him and support him whenever he asks. He should gradually start to make contact with you as time goes by so be patient.. and keep texting/calling him daily (just don't do it more than 2xs).. always stay positive and just kinda brighten up his day.. best wishes.
