I was unable to attend the viewing and funeral because of work and then I had class. So I had a candy gift basket and card delievered to him. I know he is going through a really hard time right now, but I haven't heard from him in 2 days? He told me thanks and everything for the basket, and told me that he could always use to company to come by anytime. So I texted him this afternoon to see if he would be home and he never responded?? I want to give him his space, but I also want him to know that I am here for him (like I have told him 20 times) but I don't want to be smothering at ALL. So what do ya'll think I should do??Wait for him to call or just back off??

I'm really sorry to hear that. That is very life changing, and he may need a lot of space.. but stick it out and when he needs you he will let you know. Continue to assure him you are always there for him and support him whenever he asks. He should gradually start to make contact with you as time goes by so be patient.. and keep texting/calling him daily (just don't do it more than 2xs).. always stay positive and just kinda brighten up his day.. best wishes.
