Christmas gift ideas, homemade and otherwise special...?

Help! I have a christmas budget of less than $100 and 10 people to give gifts to. Not a rich person, in the past I did chili kits (in cool cooking pots), buried treasure plants (the plants were decorated and gift cards were buried in the pot, was cool) and last year just little gift baskets from the theme park I worked at. I am out of ideas. Here is my list of folks (just so you see who is who)... My in-laws -They have literally everything and this year especially helped financially a lot. PS they hate 'crafts' My mom -She has had a rough year and first holiday with an empty nest. My sister -Her family includes her husband and three small boys (4,6,9) . Honestly, this has probably been the worst year ever for them. I usually give them a gift all together. Little brother #1- He is set and has little use for the usual types of gifts (colgne, shavers, small checks or gift cards). What can I make at home and sell online for profit?

Hey! I am looking for ideas on items I can make from home and sell online (probably Ebay) to make a profit. Here are some ideas I've had, let me know what you think, or if you have any better ideas! -cloth diapers/wipes -cloth/reuseable maxi pads -jewellry -purses/tote bags -candles -soaps, natural makeup products (in gift baskets) --dog/cat beds -aprons and oven mitts I like sewing a lot, so was thinking something sewing woul dbe fun... but I need to make about $400 a month. For my mom and dad this christmas i'm kinda going cheap and i saw one of these on a market but i want to make one myself but what can i put in it? and empty hamper baskets cost loads, so any other ideas what to put them in?

instead of a hamper basket you could just use a large popcorn bucket, also put inside: a dvd and/or cinema tickets and/or a blockbuster voucher food and drink (sweet/salt popcorn, bags of cany/chocolate, glass bottles of coke) extras - these arent really essentials like above - a movie poster, movie book, 3d glasses?? horror gift basket: same as above but put in horror dvds/movie tickets and maybe put in fake blood and a mask??

When I'm on the run I always use baby powder, That's probably the best way. I sprinkle it on my scalp and ends massage it then shake my head around and blow dry the scalp to keep the baby powder set in.

Is it illegal to bring fresh fruit into California from another state?

If legal, does anyone know of any companies that allow you to mail order fresh fruit? Not gift baskets, but boxes of fresh fruit. And can I bring boxes of fruit in my checked luggage flying within the US into California?

Yes and No. California is the fruit basket of America, so we are strict about things that could bring pests or diseases to plant life. So does neighboring Arizona. You can ship fruit from commercial growers that will certify that the fruit was inspected and safe. If you were driving into the state the fruit right off the tree would be confiscated at an Ag Check point usually close to the border. You can take it on the plane if it was purchased and packaged for retail sale, but if it came directly from trees in your local area. please do not bring it. The state is almost broke, and the costs to eradicate pests can run into the millions.

I have done movie watching baskets before and it worked out great. Especially if you are going to make more then one. I went to Blockbuster / Hollywood Video Rentals and got a 5 dollar card (enough for 1 movie rental). Its enough for one movie. They also have the microwave bucket popcorn there. I bought that used it for a bucket I filled up. Inside it with a bottle of soda 20oz, some candy from the dollar store/grocery store, the giftcard and a personalized xmas card from me with a specific note about a fun time we had during the previous year. It was a big hit.. and it was only like 10 -15 bucks a person when i was finished. Good Luck!

I want to make a service for dogs, almost everything! I LOVE DOGS!!! This sounds like a great idea and I definitely think it could fly. You need to create a business plan before you do anything. Even if you don't plan to seek any outside financing it is a smart idea to have a business plan so that you know what you are getting into and can stay on track.
