Does anyone know the poem (note) about wedding candles?
I have seen this idea about giving candles as a gift. Each different color candle is to be lit at a a different occasion. I want to give a huge basket as a wedding gift and have lost the list... help!!!!
--------------------
A basket of candles that come in a pair In all different colors, for you two to share The white ones burn first They are wrapped in white lace To celebrate your first married night In your new chosen place. The green pair is taller, and also much thinner Burn with the first company, you have over for dinner. The dark blue candles are for after your first fight Use them to burn while making up all night. Pink candles set the mood and pave the way For your first married Valentine's Day. Now, when your first year of marriage is through The cream anniversary pair, will light for you two. Red candles aflame, both your futures are bright Celebrate promotions you've worked toward with all of your might. By this time we hope, maybe, just maybe You can light the purple ones, on the birth of your baby. And just when you thought you'd put these away Take the light blue ones out-for your fifth anniversary day. Now just one more pair left - for the big 2 5 The anniversary pair that will keep your love alive. Congratulations xx and xx On the start of your forever May the two of you always be happy together And burn these candles Just the way we said But please don't forget-blow them out before bed!

Babyshower, gift for mama.
Im going to my cousins babyshower, and I was going to make a basket full of baby stuff, then one full of stuff for mama, my cousin.. is putting pas in the basket weird? I know she is going ot need them for after the baby is born.. but is that something that would be good to put in her basket.. what about soaps candles?.. what else could I put in it?
--------------------
Well I would make sure there was at least one bottle of adult Tylenol. I might even take an empty pill bottle and fabricate a label for her that says tranquilizers, then put some candy in it. ( As a joke, we all know that sometimes parenting can be stressful) Lotions, Soaps, and candles are all great too. A gift card to get a new outfit would be fabulous because after baby comes, nothing fits right. Even a gift certificate to get her hair done might be nice. Don't forget to add a couple of packs of ear plugs. It's nice to get things for the mama. By the time the baby comes, you feel as if you have slipped into the background somehow and the baby is all anyone thinks about anymore. It's nice to know that mama is being remembered.

Help with this christmas gift?
For my grandparents, I'm thinking of making a stay at home basket. I have both their favorite candies, but I need more stuff to add. I'm also gonna buy mixed nuts, because they like to snack on them. They have enough blankets(I was gonna add a fleece blanket) and I don't know what else to add. If I put in a movie, I want a comedy or a family fun one, and I'm gonna buy some good popcorn too, so a movie would work well. Any ideas about this? Thanks!!!!

Old Valentines Re-Gifted?
on valentines day my boyfriend surprised me when he got me this big basket that was filled with tons of chocolate candy and a teddy bear, at first i didnt think anything of the date on the bear's foot until my mom said "Did you notice that the bear says 2009?" and hello we're in 2010....So I didnt bring it up w my boyfriend but i did ask him who he was with last year on valentines day and he said "Me, myself, and I" so he was single....and today my brother opened up one of the chocolates and the chocolate was old, and not until today I realized was that the whole basket gift was from 2009, not just the bear....So should I totally disregard the fact that the gift was a year old and probably re-gifted to me and only consider that "It's the thought that counts" and move on or should I call my boyfriend out and how should I do it?

Need help on a quick physics problem?
For a birthday gift, you and some friends take a hot-air balloon ride. One friend is late, so the balloon floats a couple of feet off the ground as you wait. Before this person arrives, the combined weight of the basket and people is 1280 kg, and the balloon is neutrally buoyant. When the late arrival climbs up into the basket, the balloon begins to accelerate downward at 0.50 m/s^2. What was the mass of the last person to climb aboard?
--------------------
The initial buoyant force Fi = m x g = 1280g Newton Let the mass of this person is m kg =>F(net) = (1280+m)g - Fi =>(1280+m) x 0.5 = 1280g + 9.8m - 1280g =>640 + 0.5m = 9.8m =>9.3m = 640 =>m = 68.82 kg

Two questions...Hospital bag and thank you gift?
Hi, I'm looking for some info/advice about two things. 1). What have you packed in your hospital bag? I want to check if I'm missing things for mine. 2). I want to get the staff some sort of a thank-you-something so I was thinking about maybe a basket of cookies/brownies with a card. What do you think? Any other ideas?
--------------------
the advice i wish someone ha told me when i packed my bag.... when picking an outfit to wear home, pick something dark and inexpensive!!! you have NO idea how much you bleed those first few days. i brought a pastel blue brand new jogging suit to wear home, what a huge mistake that was. wish i had of brought my old black jogging pants with the hole in the knee...lol as far as a gift, we got the staff cookies, they loved them.

Miss Mallory's Cookies and Confections?
I want to sell my home made cookies and truffles and flavored chocolate lollipops but i dont want it to be a full blown business. Just a few gift boxes and baskets. I live in Orlando Florida and have no idea how to figure out how to start and i dont want the health department in my kitchen. What do i do?
--------------------
Start by giving them away to neighbors and friends. If they like them they will ask for more then you can sell them. If you were out in front of Publix like the girl scouts then the health department would be on you. Also have a bake sale. When neighbors have a garage sale see if they let you sell your cookies and things.

Gift Ideas from Florida?
I recently moved to Florida and for Christmas, I'm going to get my parents a basket filled with stuff that is unique to or representative of Florida. I was thinking oranges, pecans, a bottle of wine from a local vinter...Can you think of some other things? Please note that I live in Northern Florida which is more "southern" than places farther South (ie we have no palm trees)
--------------------
In addition to the other ideas mentioned, you might consider music by local musicians (Magda Hiller is my favorite North Florida musician, and her songs often describe life in Florida), as well as things related to Florida's major football rivalry (the University of Florida Gators and the Florida State University Seminoles). Don't underestimate the cultural importance of the UF-FSU rivalry; brides who plan a wedding on the day of the annual game sometimes learn the hard way, as guests may bring portable TVs to the reception party or even decline the invitation!

sending something because of a death, can anyone help me please?
My husbands father just passed away, his wife is a very nice lady who will be bombarded with flowers, I was wondering would it be innapropriate to send a gift/food basket instead of flowers, that was filled with morning breakfast/coffee items, instead of traditional fruit....I'm thinking, she doesn't need more flowers that are going to have to be thrown away in a while, it is winter where she is so a plant isn't practical, and traditional funeral type plants/flowers she will get so many, what does anyone think on this, greatly appreciated.....
--------------------
That sounds like a thoughtful alternative. When my dad died, we received so many flowers, cards, and fruit baskets (oh my, the fruit flies were horrible!). My mom was a widow with three minor kids, and she appreciated the people that volunteered to watch us while she made arrangements, or the meals that were prepared so she didn't have to worry about it, and the ladies from church who came over and cleaned our house up a bit. If geographical restrictions aren't an issue and she is your mother-in-law, maybe you could send a fruit basket or gift basket, but also volunteer your time or talents. Just a thought...

Baby shower ideas for my sister?
Would love some baby shower ideas- we're having soups w/ sandwiches and salads for lunch. Any ideas on dessert besides the cake? Also, would love some fun games and gift ideas as well. I'm refinishing her changing table (she let me borrow it when i had my daughter and it just wasn't in the best condition), and i'm filling it w/ baskets and diapers, wipes and creams, any ideas for what else to put on the changing table?
--------------------
For dessert, those little shot glass desserts are great. You can get so many different varieties so there's something for everyone. I did that for my sisters bridal shower and they were a hit. We got the glasses made with a special saying to commemorate the date as their shower gift. We ordered them from a nice restaurant but probably could have made them ourselves for way cheaper lol. I love the idea of the changing table. Maybe also get the changing table pad and cover. Throw in some toys too. Also if she has a diaper genie or you know she is getting one you can get a bunch of refils for it.

If you're getting someone office supplies as a gift, how do you make it not look tacky?
We're having a surprise party for this guy, and his girlfriend wrote a list of some stuff he needs for when he moves into his new place. One of them was: "Pens, pencils, notepads, post-its
. Etc." I LOVE shopping for stuff like that (I know I'm a nerd lol), so I told her that I would get that. I'm thinking I'm gonna get him some black pens, maybe some mechanical pencils if i feel like it, sticky notes, and some type of notebooks or notepads or something for him to write on. I'm just not sure what else I could get him/how I could wrap it so it doesn't look tacky! I'm thinking maybe if I get him something to put on his desk to help him organize it all, it will look less tacky? And how could I wrap it to make it look cute? maybe I could put it in a basket or something. FYI- my budget is gonna be $15 or $20.
