Gift ideas for my mom's 50th birthday PLEASE HELP !!?

For her 50th I don't want to get her crappy perfume or a purse. She says she does not want a big party so the gift is everything. My parents are divorced but are still friends and my dad is picking me up for a gift . I am already getting her either an iPod nano or classic but I want something else. I was thinking a basket of stuff but what? Some other ideas?

Christmas gift Ideas....Please Help?

They days are winding down before christmas parties and gift exchanges, this will be my last weekend shopping before Christmas. I have yet to find the right gifts for some family members left on my list. There is my Grandfather - everyone gets him flannel shirts, that I havent seen him wear yet. My uncle- single and living at home.. upper 20's (does not like video games or anything, but he likes wolves and eagles). My aunt and her bf- They are drinkers. My uncle and his gf- They are expecting a lil girl January 31st but I dont want to get anything for the baby, b/c their is plenty of time at the shower for this. I have a friend that i started making a scrapbooking basket for. I have gotten a 3 piece cutter set, tons of stickers and an album. More ideas needed... I am making a liqour basket as a gift set to the family as a whole.. We have gotten a bartending book, shot glasses and looking at a bottle of tequila and vodka, or gin.. HELP PLEASE..
--------------------
depending on what your gandfather likes you should see maybe he would like it if you made him stuff parents and grandparents like that the best. see how many blankets he has and if he dont have very many then get him an eagle blanket or ones with wolfs on them its not very good but its better than nothing probably just get them a bottle of wine and let them have a wild night when they get home you could probably get them something that will be relaxing maybe a heatter pad for his girl friend and i cant think of anything for your uncle if the friend is a girl get her something she would like ask her what so of her favorite things are and go by that it is so much easier because you can think of something that would go good with her favorites on the liquour basket i cant help you much because i dont drink or think very much about liqour. hope this helps im not very good at gifts but that is the way i do things around christmas but then agian im a pretty cheap person. lol have fun hope you get everything done merry christmas

you could make your own site with dream weaver...i dont know any good hosts...you may want to stay away from stargate, i have them....they suck..... also lunarpages aren't any good, its pretty hard to find a good host (for customer service and stuff) but if you just want basic features anyone will work.... you could check the pc world magazine, they usually have ads for hosts....

how to start home business?

i need to know the steps for starting home business , any helpfull websites, i am going to do diapers cake and gift basket, and all creative gifts
--------------------
Merchant Circle is a good group to join, online. A lot of folks doing small business that can help you with answers for all the day-to-day wonky stuff that will come up out of the blue (even after 4 years I am often stumped on small business details and this can be a great resource!). Anyone that you know that is doing the same thing (small, home-based business) is a good resource. When you first start out....maybe try to get involved at a craft show or some event with vendors that tend to be crafty home-based folk. People you meet there may wind up being a huge resource for you. I stopped doing those shows after a year in the business but I am still connected to quite a few people I met at the first one I ever did. Don't be afraid to ask questions....don't be afraid to try something new. Make sure you are covered, legally and tax-wise, and you will be fine! Good luck...

Need ideas for gifts. A friend at work lost her husband, her home and her show dogs in a fire.?

I am trying to gather ideas for our department, about 18 women, to give her for a housewarming gift when she moves back into her newly rebuilt home. We were thinking of a laundry basket filled with household type items, like tin foil, paper towels, cleaning products, etc...Any suggestions?
--------------------
I think yours is a great idea. It's stuff that every one needs. Also some Bath towels/washcloths, a welcome mat, mailbox. Even a subscription to a magazine is a nice touch to throw in. How about some coupons for delivery pizza. You could include a gift card to Target or Lowes. That way she can go pick up some stuff that she might need, but didn't get.

My friends and I are doing secret Santa?

and in addition to each person getting one other person something, we are all purchasing a little gift to make a gift basket for each person it has to be the same thing for each person, but they can be variations of the same things. Any ideas for what to get(15-16 yr old age group both male and female)
--------------------
Well, I get the feeling the "personal" gift for the specific person you're buying for should be easy? Unless you can offer more information as to what types of things they like. And a inexpensive gift that could be used for anybody, I usually go raid the local "Everythings A Dollar" store. You can find stuffed toys that (me being 18) even I'd still be happy to recieve. You can find some cute holiday stuff that people might like to have. Or, best of all. Candy! Lol, it does seem to be a favorite among gifts I give out.

Help with easter cookies for kids???

I need a recipes and desings for kids at t he age 12 and 8, it's for my boyfriend's sister and brother, and I was thinking of putting cookies in with thier gift basket, and is there any else kinds of sweets I could make? Thanks and have a nice day.
--------------------
I have had such fun decorating easter cookies with my goddaughters. Go to Michaels and buy cookie cutters in easter shapes. We love the egg shape. The key to decorating is the icing. You need to buy meringue powder. It's also at Michaels. The royal icing recipe is on the can (powdered sugar, the meringue powder, and a tiny bit of water). Put the icing in different ziploc bags and cut off the corner. Squeeze and design. I like Sandra Lee's recipe for cutout cookies. Here's a link.

Is this a good sympathy gift for my friend? Her mother just died?

My friend's mother just died...we have been working together a few years and she is basically like a mother to me. Me and my girlfriend are friends with her family but we never knew her mother. I was going to get them a Vermont Teddy Bear with a card saying "We are sorry for the loss of your loved one, keep this in her memory" Does that seem a bit over the top or no? For some reason it seems like a strange sympathy gift to me...but I didn't want to go with a generic fruit basket or flower arrangement...I wanted it to be something they could keep and remember. For me it just almost seems droll to give someone a gift that is like 'here is something to remind you that someone died' Am I thinking too deeply about this? Any thoughts?
--------------------
What matters is the note you write, on a card or letter, and the comfort you offer this person. I think you could even write "You have been like a mother to me" in your note and it would mean a lot. There should be no such thing as a sympathy gift-I agree it is just a reminder. People gave my husband teddy bears when he had cancer and we were dumbfounded, although we appreciated the thought. Teddy bears for a 40 year old man? Reminders of his illness? No thanks!

Urgent!!! have a fancy chocolate basket to give to boss-should i wrap it or what??

so it's a fancy gdiva chocolate gift basket with a nice bow and decorations. for my boss. should i put it in a bag or just give it the way it is??
--------------------
I think you shouldn't wrap if ONLY if it's like REALLY fancy, but if it is REALLY fancy, you should wrap it just to impress the boss. just watch out if it's too fancy because your boss might think he's paying you too much.

Interesting idea's for a bachelorette party gift!?

I am looking for a good way to wrap a bachelorette party gift. I have gotten her a marriage survival kit with some sweet and many funny gifts. It is all in a large basket since I hate the waste of wrapping paper. But I want it to look like a gift. Normally I would just tie some ribbon on the handles or maybe a bow right in the middle, but considering the type of party it is, I was looking to do something a little more interesting. Any idea's?
--------------------
1- buy an adhesive tape that can be removed afterwards 2- change 50$ bill for 50 of 1$ 3- glue all bills by using the tape & making square form sheet. 4- wrap your present 5- good luck.

Fair Trade Small business name idea?

I have a small business that only sells gift baskets that are completly filled with fair trade products. My business is thriving but I really don't have a name for it yet. Ideas?
--------------------
The name must connect with your customers. The name should be instantly recognizable with your product. The name should inspire the need to have it. I'd need to know more about your fair trade products... However, you can't go wrong with a twist on other popular names. Look at your business plan and your target market/s... this will point you in the correct direction. Good Luck

I need a gift for a 58 year old man and I am SOOOO stuck on ideas! Help!?

He doesn't play golf, gamble, fish, or hunt. He has a million books already, and I have already given him way too many gourmet food and coffee baskets. He doesn't wear ties. I need something really different and interesting. He's stocked up on wallets, keychains, and other man gifts. Ideas?
--------------------
How about a nice bottle of Tia Maria, Kolua, Grand Marnier, Remy Martin, Dom Perignon. You know his taste, no? ~ Remember, the best present to give is one, that the recipient would dearly love, but would never buy himself. A chess game, a computer. Or offer to index all his books either in a database (Access) or spreadsheet. (Excel). A fruit of the month selection.

Can I ship homemade cookies from North America to Germany through FedEx?

I want to send my boyfriend in Germany cookies for his birthday but I don't know if I'm allowed to send them through FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc.. or if I should just find a european website and send him a gift basket of some kind..
--------------------
Yes as long as particular food items aren't restricted by the country of import. That goes for all shipping companies. If you want them there in a timely manner, use fedex or ups. It would only take about 2-3 days. Post Office would be cheaper and take at least 5-10 business days.

Best gift for climbing instructors?

What's a good gift for my child's rock climbing instructors? They're college students working in the outdoor adventure department of the university (so they're into a variety of outdoor sports, not just climbing). There are usually five or six in class so maybe a basket of something? Power bars & gu? Box of donuts?
--------------------
Gift vouchers for a store that sells a variety of outdoor sports equipment. EDIT after seeing your additional information: perhaps you could find out if a significant number of them go to the same bar/pub, possibly after work, and put some money behind the bar for them to spend on a round of drinks.

What Should I Get My Student Teacher?

ok, so im in 8th grade and my student teacher is graduating next week, and i don't know what to get her. We, as a class, are throwing a surprise party for her. I was thinking like a gift card or a basket full of teacher stuff that newbies might need. Thank You So Much!
--------------------
That's thoughtful but... Just give her some 'jelly belly' jellybeans or something a little exotic in the lolly department.

Does anyone know where I can buy medical-themed candy?

This week is Nurse's week and I was thinking about a gift for my husband and ran across some cute baskets with jelly bean "pills", chocolate band-aids, etc. But I bet I can make a basket for a lot less than they sell them for. I know I could get the "naughty" jelly bean pills at Spencer Gifts but I'd prefer to keep the gift themed for Nurse's week. There's a Sweet Factory at our mall but I don't think they have them. Anyone know if World Market has them?
