Does anyone know a good gift for a senior future mother in law who doesn't need anything?

I need something I can buy in a store because her birthday is today. She has a lot of stuff and isn't low on funds. She doesn't go out often because it is difficult for her so she prefers to stay at home reading the newspaper in front of the TV all day. Last year I got her a fruit basket, I have also recently given her a watch that didn't fit her, and I usually give her some sort of chocolate as well. I'm looking for something different. She doesn't want a plant or anything breakable because she is afraid the cats will knock it down. She has tons of books but she didn't like the last one I got her. So I am wondering if anyone has any ideas of a gift she might like? I was also thinking of something that would entertain her when she's by herself - like a 1 person activity. She also has a dog and 4 cats that she loves. So anything to interact with them might be an idea.

Choose any of the gifts mentioned below. Crossword book, sudoko puzzle. Toys from a pet shops for the dogs. Year-long Subscription for her fav. magazine starting from her b/day Home-pedicure, manicure or facial....?

I need name suggestions for my WAHM business/website == www.?????.com?

I need name suggestions for my WAHM business/website. Just a way to make money in my spare time. I'm hoping to do mostly internet sales. I make beaded Jewelry. I'm just getting started. I plan to also make other small crafts. I'm starting small. I may branch out into other areas such as sewing crafts or decrotive candle holders, gift baskets ect or I may not ever get around to doing anything but jewelry. Not sure yet. So I need a flexable name. Also will sale 2nd hand things: clothes, cloth diapers, toys ect DH is giving me money to set up a website . So I need a short name (preferably 20 characters or less) One to 3 words. (nothing with beads or baubles!) My name is Sonita. You can check out my (current website! LOL) 360 page ( http://360.yahoo.com/noggin_mama... )to see pix of my jewelry to help you get an idea what to call it. Feel free to throw out several suggestions! 10 points to the best answer even if I don't use it! 10% off your 1st purchase if I do!
--------------------
I don't have a suggestion of what to use but I do have something not to use. From experience, use a name that is easy to tell someone over the phone with out having to spell it. Mine is www.4ahealthieru.com and I have to explain in carefully. Keep it easy. By the way, I sell Herbalife and am getting into New Vision.

I need a name for my business?

Im setting up a gift basket business, i have practically done everything but i just cant think of a name for my business! I do all sorts of baskets - but my main target market is the Asian consumer, as i make baskets for Asian festivals such as Eid, Diwali etc. Perhaps an asian word could be used? But i just dont know what. I wanted something around the word 'celebration' but 'celebration gift baskets' just doesn't sound catchy enough. Any ideas / suggestions would be appreciated. Full points and a gift basket to say a big thanks from me goes to the person with the best answer. Thanks everyone.x.

I don't know what to ask for, for CHRISTMAS!?

so, I'm a 13 year old girl. I really like to shop, but I don't want to ask for money or gift cards. I already have a cell phone, a digital camera, a dell laptop and an ipod. I'm asking for a coton de tulear dog and a marc by marc jacobs purse. I know I'm not going to get the dog though. I also dont want any make-up, clothes, books, cd's/ music or anything like room decorations... I hate getting those types of things as gifts. Does anyone have any ideas??? my grandparents like to give out 'gift baskets'. They have taken a large basket, and filled it with things that each person in the family would like. Ex: If I wanted makeupp, they would go to some makeup store such as Ulta, M.A.C. or Sephora, and buy maybe $100's of makeup , put it in the basket, and give it to us christmas eve. If you have any ideas for things that I could ask from them to put in the basket, that would be great!!!!!!! Thank you!!!!!! (p.s. I'm not spoiled, I just have a really really REALLY big family, and have gotten my ipod and cell phone using money I had recived as birthday gifts. So pleasde NO RUDE COMMENTS!!!!) Thanks again *alikat*

It sounds like you are really blessed and not as materialistic as lots of teens. If you are sincere in not wanting lots of "things" you might think about asking your family to "adopt" a needy family for Christmas. We did that every year when my girls were growing up. Sometimes we actually shared our Christmas dinner at our home. My girls loved it.

Next Hollywood Story?

With Slumdog winning the best picture, we ask: What would be the next great story to tell? DSCGOURMET.COM gift baskets for all occasions...
--------------------
Since movies about african american, indians, jews and others have been made, I think that they should make a movie about troubled latino teens that live in the slums of south central. By asking questions about there relationship with parents, there social life and if there involved maybe in a gang, perhaps it will help people understand our way of lifestyle and that before judging once again, they should know that not everyone in South Central L.A is the same. Bridal Shower People Canceling!!!?

Friends of ours are getting married and, the woman is having a Bridal Shower 2 weeks from now. The guests on the man's side of the family have decided all, through the man's mother, that they are not coming. They waited until now to say this. They planned on 35, now there will only be 17 or so people showing up. The hall is already booked and of course the dinners/meals etc. Many items of preparation have already been completed, such as gift baskets etc. It was suggested that they no invite these people to the reception and only the wedding. The man has no idea why they aren't coming but we believe they just do not want to drive the 3 hours. There are feelings hurt and money lost throughout this issue. What would you do?
--------------------
Not inviting them to the reception seems petty. They are going to inlaws (hopefully) forever. I would take the high road - try to cancel the dinners. If you can't freeze them- during the wedding week no one will have time to cook. Save the gift baskets for treasured relatives and present them at the wedding.

VAT ???? help needed please??

I sell gift baskets online & from home, I add the vat onto the total on my site, When i sell from home i make out invoices & receipts, but for example,,,,, someone buys my £10 basket, do I add the VAT or have to take it out of the £10. I think it would be abit of a hassle for my customers, they want to give £10 for a £10 basket???? please shed the light a little????
--------------------
1. Are you VAT registered??? If not STOP IT RIGHT NOW ITS ILLEGAL. 2. You add it to the sale price. I.e. if your baskets are £10 Net, then you sell them for £11.75 gross. If you are charging for shipping, yu do this: £10 plus £5 shipping is £15 + VAT (£2.63) total invoice: £17.63. You must quote your VAT registration number on any VAT invoice. If you are retailing straight to the public, just sell the damned things for £10 and work out the VAT backwards or jsut advertise at £11.75. You don't see price tags in your high street with VAT missing from them do you now? Only in TRADE establishments not dealing directly with the public.

He does one filled with fishing supplies and one with a sports fan theme. He makes a profit of $12.50 on the sports fan basket. He only has time to make 100 baskets and needs to earn at least $1,000 to cover his summer activities. Which solution stifies the system of inequalities? a) 73 fishing baskets and 27 sports fan baskets b) 75 fishing baskets and 25 sports fan baskets c) 70 fishing baskets and 30 sports fan baskets d) 72 fishing baskets and 28 sports fan baskets

1) At least 1 dimension has to be 120 and the perimeter cannot exceed 1200. All satisfy the first requirement, but Pa=1300 Pb=1250 Pc=1200 Pd=1350 so only c fits 2) Are you not given the profit per fishing basket? if not you have 12.50x +P*f=1000 x+f=100 which is 2 equations and three unknowns which can't be solved. If you have the profit, then you have two equations and two unknowns and you can solve for x and f

Can you help.... PLEASE!?!?!?

How should I advertise this... WHAT SHOULD I WRITE???... Mothers' day is coming (May 13th, America) , please tell me, is this a good idea, I sell Avon and my brother gave me this idea... (He said it would work for the men who just don't know what to get... and the men who work too late to go shopping...) make gift baskets... and do a "build your own basket" or a "You pick the price" where you tell me what you want in the basket and I put it together. How would you advertise this... PLEASE HELP ME FIGURE OUT WHAT TO WRITE!!!!
--------------------
I have a friend that does this with Mary Kay, but she puts the baskets together and her husband sells them as he makes his rounds as a tool salesman to mechanics. I can tell you now, if a man has to pick what goes in the basket, he won't do it. If there's a beautiful basket all put together of that mysterious smelly stuff women love, he'll buy it up quick. Men don't want to think about what their wife would really want, they just want to say, "Here you go honey... Look, I didn't forget you this year!" It means an initial investment for you, but she gets so many sales this time of year by doing it. Make all sorts of price ranges and wrap them in plastic and a bow. If you can get it in front of men, they will buy it. Good luck!

What can I use my big empty basket for?

First off, I don't want to put flowers or gifts of any kind inside it. It's a brown basket that has a handle and it's about the size of a breadbox. It's shaped very strangely too. It's rectangular, but it has two rounded edges. I usually keep a few books or photo albums init, but it is somewhat deep so it doesn't hold big things well, and it's too big to hold tiny items. I was just looking for something to put into it, or maybe to make something simple out of it to get it off the floor and looking better. Thanks for any suggestions.
--------------------
I love baskets and use them all over the house. I have one in the dining room full of cloth napkins, several next to chairs that are used to hold magazines and catalogs, one in the kitchen that has recipes that I am going to try, another one in the kitchen full of all sorts of snack things that keeps children of visitors busy if they are told they can choose one, one full of things like soap, disposable razors, small cans of shaving cream, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, combs, etc so guests can get something they need if they left theirs at home (most of the items are from hotels). The last one is left on the floor in the guestroom and has brought comments from almost all of our guests. Baskets make it easy to keep the house clean as you can pick them up to dust or vacuum under and around them, and they keep clutter off of the endtables and the coffee table.

hard math problem help is needed?

Jared earns money by making gift baskets for Father's Day. He does one filled with fishing supplies and one with a sports fan theme. He makes a profit of $9.00 on the fishing supply basket and a profit of $12.50 on the sports fan basket.
--------------------
Let F be the number of fishing baskets made by Jared Let S be the number of sports fan baskets made by Jared There are 2 inequalities that have to be satisfied: "He only has time to make 100 baskets," meaning: (1) F + S ? 100 and "needs to earn at least $1,000," meaning: (2) 9F + 12.5S ? 1000 You'll find that options A, B, C, and D all satisfy the first inequality, so we really just need to determine the number of fishing and sports fan baskets Jared has to make to earn at least $1,000. (A) F = 73, and S = 27 => 9F + 12.5S = 9(73) + 12.5(27) = 994.5 < 1000 In other words, option A is not good enough to earn $1,000 (B) F = 75, and S = 25 => 9F + 12.5S = 9(75) + 12.5(25) = 987.5 < 1000 In other words, option B is not good enough to earn $1,000 (C) F = 70, and S = 30 => 9F + 12.5S = 9(70) + 12.5(30) = 1005 > 1000 In other words, Jared can earn at least $1,000 with option C (D) F = 72, and S = 28 => 9F + 12.5S = 9(72) + 12.5(28) = 998 < 1000 In other words, option D is not good enough to earn $1,000 Therefore, to satisfy the system of inequalities, Jared should go with option C (i.e. to make 70 fishing baskets and 30 sports fan baskets).

James earns money by making gift baskets for Father's DAY. He does one filled with fishing supplies and one with a sports fan theme. He makes a profit of $9.00 on the fishing supply basket and a profit of $12.50 on the sports baskets. He only has time to make 100 baskets and needs to earn at least $1,000 to cover his summer activities. --------------------
Answer A is not correct because: If he were to sell 73 fishing baskets: 73*9=$657 and 27 sports baskets: 27*12.5=$337.50 657+337.5=$994.50 I'm sure you can find out what the correct answer is after this example.
