Hot cocoa in a piping bag?
I recieved a gift a few years back of a hot cocoa mix in a piping bag. It was layered and made two servings. I want to make them to put in baskets this year but can't find a recipe anywhwere online, can anyone help me out?!
--------------------
Here's a big one for you, enough to give everyone lots. 10 cups dry powdered milk 4 3/4 cups icing sugar 1 3/4 cups cocoa 1 3/4 cups non dairy creamer, dry Just mix well, makes 15 cups. For one drink, put 1/3 cup mix in a mug and add 3/4 cups boiling water. Top with whipped cream or marshmallows. Enjoy!

Mothers day... is this a good...?
Mothers' day is coming, please tell me, is this a good idea, I sell Avon and my brother gave me this idea... (He said it would work for the men who just don't know what to get... and the men who work too late to go shopping...) make gift baskets... and do a "build your own basket" or a "You pick the price" where you tell me what you want in the basket and I put it together. And charge... Ex. Small basket: $1.50 plus the cost of the Avon products. Medium basket: $2.50 plus the cost of the Avon products. Large basket: $3.50 plus the cost of the Avon products. Do you think this would work??? would it work in a small town???

why wouldn't you not do it? It's a money maker you should do it for all occasions and birthday, baby showers, weddings, etc., oh and wrap then in the holiday wrapping. clear Selene

Need opinions -- bridal shower "memory" game?
I'm hosting a bridal shower. In addition to my gift 2the bride, I purchased a few things off her registry. Low ticket items:pizza cutter, pizza airbake pan, measuring spoons, pot holder, kitchen towel, and then some room spray and some Mrs. Meyer's supplies (laundry soap, all-purpose cleaner, counter top spray and dish soap). I put all of these things inside of a contoured "hip basket" laundry basket that she was registered for. At the shower, I am planning on having her go around the room with the "gift basket" for about 2 or 3 minutes, showing guests the items in the basket and asking them to pay special attention to Liz as she comes around with the basket. Then she leaves the room. She keeps full basket as gift. Two options at this point, for a prize, I could ask guests to write down as many of the items in the bride's basket as they can remember... OR I could take them off guard and ask them to write down what the bride was wearing, from head to toe... Which do u like better?
--------------------
Ask them what the bride was wearing! If she's walking around with the basket, everyone will assume the questions will be about the basket, therefore thats what they will concentrate on. Then thats when you hit them with the real questions!

More unconventional mother's day gifts?
Haha i know everyone must be asking this right now, but i've been looking at other questions, and i've pretty much done all of them (picture frame, painting, card, photo album, those cutesy craft things, flowers, cooking) my mom isn't really the type that goes to spas/likes gift baskets, so that wouldn't work either. any really different ideas? i'm fine with doing something myself like making something instead of buying it... and money's not too big of an issue thanks!

I am thinking about this from a mom's point of view, since i am one, lol. I would love it of someone would offer to deep clean the house for me, but thats cuz I hate doing it! What about a netflix subscription for a year?

Need help from seniors, please, re: gifts?
Having a gathering and am in charge of making gift baskets. The age range is 50 and up, way up. What are some things that would be useful and enjoyable in a gift basket for seniors? Thanks for your input!

What do your prefer?
I make gift baskets and was curious what kinds of baskets people like most, spa baskets (with lotions, bath salts, bubble baths) gourmet food baskets (with cheese, crackers, wines) or others.... please specify. What would you prefer?
--------------------
the thought of the spa basket is lovely but being practical i'd prefer the gourmet food basket because the food and snacking would come in way more handy

Gift baskets are a GREAT idea. Go to the store get the things needed to make her favorite cookie, cake, ect... and fill a jar with all the dry ingredients. *example, flour, on top of that sugar, on top of that the chocolate chips..ect* on the computer make a label and call them Mommas cookies, tell her to add 2 eggs or whatever else she needs ... that will save her time, and its cute. Decorate the jar with a nice bow. Maybe add in some cooking gear, some oven mitts and things in the basket. Sister- i'm not sure how old she is but what about some cheap snowboarding things like the goggles, warm socks, gloves, toboggan..ect. in her basket Dads are never fun to buy for in my opinion. LOL... get him some Farming things in a basket.. like idk if he likes John Deere but maybe a coffee mug or something and some little snacks in a basket for when he is out and about. Dogs u can go buy some cheap stockings already filled with bones and toys from walmart. I really hope this helps.. and Merry Christmas!

My company gives out things for free to all the employees. I'm cashstrapped...?
should I just send out these "freebies" to gift recipients or fork over the extra dough for them? I really like the free gift baskets (I've even already eaten half of one's contents writing this question), but, again, I don't have hardly any money....
--------------------
If it's someone really special, than no. But, yes, by all means be conservative (and polite!) and regift them. Make sure they're classily wrapped - ribbon is a great way to spice it up a little. Especially if these are quality things, way to go!

How do I send out a baby shower thank you card for a lot of gifts?
A family that is friends with me and my husband got us 2 big baskets and 1 toy box filled with great baby shower gifts, It is a LOT of stuff! I just want to know how to send out a thank you card for that, I know you are suppose to kind of include a note about everthing you got from a person in the card so that it feels more personal, but I don't think I can thank them for every individual thing and have it fit in one card...what should I do?
--------------------
Just give a general thank you for all the gifts and how you are so appreciative that they tried to cover all your needs. Mention the toy box and how you plan to use it. Mention the baskets if you can use those as well (great laundry hampers, or for storing diaper supplies in other rooms). Just pick one or two of the things and mention those specifically. If you write a big long list, it sounds insincere- which I know is the last thing you want to be.

Would this be a good bridesmaids gift?
My maids are the best maids a girl could ask for. I still have several months before my wedding but things are already so well planned (because of their help) that I have very little left to do. I would like to splurge on them as far as gifts go so I was thinking of making spa baskets for them with things like shower gel, bubble bath, scrub, pedicure and manicure sets, foot and hand cream, bath salts, essential oils, facial masks, candles, shower mist, relaxing melodies etc. I thought it would be nice to let them pamper themselves whenever they want, however they want. I
--------------------
I would recommend something else, maybe a gift certificate to a spa so that they can choose what they'd like to have. Most of us have several bottles of left over lotions, gels, etc. that we have gotten as gifts. We rarely actually use all of them, but we keep them around cluttering up our cabinets and vanities "just in case". If you want to pamper them, let them actually go to a spa and have a pro do it. It's a sweet idea, just not so practical.

I usually just get my Dad something sweet, like a dad mug. I know it's corny, but it's sweet and cheap, and you can buy them at CVS. Maybe you can get them DVDs of their favorite sport, or you might find something at CVS that's cool.

are those baskets fille dwith shampoo and that good smellin lotion make good gifts for girls u kno th ebasket filled with stuff the bath pearls?

Depends on the girl.. They are always nice however my only complaint is that those are the number one thing every guys gives a girl when he doesn't actually know what to give them... I have like 15 of those baskets under my bathroom sink. No girl goes through that many bath products and half of them are crappy grocery store brands. If you really think she will like it I would say at least get a nice one and go to Victoria's Secret.... Love spell is a great set try that!

Gift ideas for multiple friends???
Hi, I'm an 18 year old girl who is in high school. I usually get individual gifts for each of my girl friends but this year I was trying to find some idea that I could give to a bunch of them. Any ideas? Other than bath and body baskets or something...and something relatively cheap?

gift cards are a great answer, as are letters from kids in the community, anything home made(not just food) can generally be appreciated as well.

What should I put in my college survival kits?
Ok, so I'm making college survival kits for 3 of my closest senior friends. I have a budget of about $75 (excluding buying the baskets to put the gifts in), so that's $25 each. This is what I have so far: -Playing cards ($3 each) -Stress balls ($2 each) -(2) 5-hour energy shots ($4 per person) -(2) easy mac ($2 per person) Please list the prices of the items
--------------------
You could use big plastic bowls (from Walmart/Target/the dollar store) as your "baskets" and then they could use them for popcorn at college. You should definitely include some microwave popcorn and maybe some microwaveable ramen noodle cups or soup. You could add a coffee mug ($1 at a dollar store) and some tea or coffee bags if you think they'd use them. Sugarless gum or breath mints are also useful to keep you awake during boring classes. You could also include a small photo album ($1 at Michael's craft stores) or a picture frame with a photo of the four of you (if you're all friends).

Why not, Jesus will forgive ya. I think rapture just happened or something, I'm getting to be the first one to answer on everything. Oh that's right, all the Christians have gone to sleep, so they can get up bright and early for Church service, tomorrow, or today, after all it is 12:41 am Sunday. That means, I'll be the first one they see tomorrow, and my answers usually induce massive hissy-fits in them, better go brew some coffee, I'm going be up "All Night Long." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DK8ednS0s
