My husband and I are thinking about getting a booth in a flea market. What do you think of selling...?

WE want to market travel size premium men's and women's personal products from brands such as Caswell Massey. THe idea being that people travel alot for different reasons and these items are the perfect size and would make great gifts- WE'd make pretty baskets or sell them individually. Hostesses and hosts can buy them to put in their guest rooms. The ideas are endless. We'd only start out with about 15 products for men and 15 for women- WE'll try to find just for kids. Do you think it would work? would people going to flea markets buy? Each one would be $1.00- (can't find our brands in thoe sizes in CVS) and the most expensive gift baskets would be $20.00- the average being $10.00-$12.00. Good idea? Poor idea?
--------------------
I'm a sucker for personal care products........most women and an increasing number of men are! I do shows and have a website that I sell from. Mix up the brands a bit....I'm a soap enthusiast. In fact, I've begun learning how to make soap as I'm on a mission to make my perfect bar of it. Anyway, your idea has huge appeal and the price range is perfect. You've got some great venues coming up on your area, I'll bet. See if you can get your hands on a list of Christmas shows in your area. I'll bet stocking stuffer sizes as well as the larger gift basket sizes will fly off the table! Hot tip though, and it was discussed among several of my girlfriends......nobody wants another basket to dispose of. Get creative with contemporary packaging concepts or even decorative chinese takeout containers, cosmetic bags, canvas on metal frame mini-storage baskets......something that can be assimilated into the consumer's life. You could offer the customer a choice of packaging or a "pick x number and the container it goes in" type of thing.......eek! I've gotten off the beaten path. I think it would be a great idea and for more inspiration for what you're doing, take a look at the Burt's Bees displays in your area.......I've seriously bought every single pouch full of stuff they've ever offered. Love those things! ALL of my chick friends have too.

Gift ideas for Christofer Drew Ingle of NeverShoutNever?

I am seeing NSN for the third time at AP Tour and I want to bring Chris a few gifts this time. I was thinking of a basket full of funy stuff like silly string, fake mustaches, glow sticks, etc. and I would love it if some one could give me a few more ideas!
--------------------
Huh, what a coincidence! I might be going to see him at AP tour as well. Anywho. That sounds like a brilliant idea! Maybe some vegan cupcakes would be good? Or some sharpies because Chris might just have a thing for tattoos, considering his body already... You could also make him and the band some bracelets or draw a picture of him by a tree, petting a bunny or something like that. Ha ha. I might just make bracelets and draw a few pictures, even if they look horrid. But I love the idea of putting glow sticks in there! Genius.

How did you handle your gift registry?

Were your guests informed with a formal notice/online, or word of mouth? Also, did you put a basket next to he sign in book for anyone who wanted to give cards/money? I want to be as classy as possible as far as gifts go. I do not expect gifts at all, but does it make it awkward for people If I don't register, as far as them not knowing not to get? What did you do?
--------------------
i registered at Bed Bath & Beyond and guests were informed through my mother in law. I've received wedding invitations with and without registry information.I honestly prefer to have that because I really do want to get the couple something they want and they need. But I heard that some people don't like that (not sure why parents telling other guests about the registry is okay but sending out the registry info is not...). Since a lot of people are against the idea of sending the info with the invitation, I didn't want to make a big deal out of it and just followed what other people told me; let other people spread the words. Most of the guests at my wedding got me something from the registry or a giftcard. but there were a few people who got us something that we did not include in our registry. We really didn't know what to do with them because we really didn't need them and didn't want them. So we returned the ones with receipts and donated to Good wills if there were no receipts. So I think registering is a good idea because even if you don't expect any gifts, you'll get some. We had a card box on the gift table. It's not necessary but I think it'll help them where to put the cards.

What sort of gifts might a mother with a preemie baby want or need?

A friend of mine just had a baby 6 weeks before it was due. She will be practically living at the hospital for several weeks until the baby is ready to come home. I'd like to put together a gift basket of items she might want and/or need that are specific to preemie babies and being a new mom. Does anything come to mind?
--------------------
You are a wonderful friend! I would include several magazines, some paperback books -current best sellers, or crossword or word game books if she enjoys them, a book light with batteries, a writing pad and a pen, some snacks- cheese & crackers, candy bars, peanuts, etc., or a bunch of quarters for the vending machines. For baby- a couple of cute preemie outfits (Mervyn's and I think, Kohls, carry preemie sizes). The very best present you can give her though is to go to the hospital at least once a day and give her a break- maybe she could take a nap (if the hospital has a parent care room), go out for a meal ,take a walk- whatever. She will very likely just want to talk- I'm sure she's somewhat frightened, and a friend with a comforting shoulder is the best gift you could give her. I will keep your friend and her baby in my prayers.

Does a basket of "free samples" make a bad gift?

Just wondering, if this is a bad idea for a gift, and how can I make it look more personal?? Btw I work at a store who gives loads of free sample.

Gift for a soldier in Iraq/Afghanistan?

For the holidays, I want to buy a gift for a soldier. Which website/organization should I go through? I don't personally know any soldiers to sponsor, so I'd just like to be able to pay an organization to send a gift basket to a soldier who needs it. Thanks in advance!

DoD officials ask citizens not to flood the military mail system with letters, cards, and gifts. Due to security concerns and transportation constraints, the Defense Department can't accept items mailed to "Any Servicemember". However, there are numerous other ways in which you can show your support for our troops. The following are websites for several organizations sponsoring programs for members of the Armed Forces overseas. While it would be inappropriate for DoD to endorse any specifically, Service members do value and appreciate such expressions of support: Donate a calling card to help keep service members in touch with their families at Operation Uplink at http://www.operationuplink.org/ Send a greeting via e-mail through http://anyservicemember.org/ or http://www.OperationDearAbby.net Sign a virtual thank you card at the Defense America web site at http://www.defendamerica.mil/nmam.html Make a donation to one of the military relief societies: Army Emergency Relief at http://www.aerhq.org/ Navy/Marine Relief Society at http://www.nmcrs.org/ Air Force Aid Society at http://www.afas.org/ Coast Guard Mutual Assistance at http://www.cgmahq.org/ Donate to "Operation USO Care Package" at http://www.usometrodc.org/care.html Support the American Red Cross Armed Forces Emergency Services at http://www.redcross.org/services/afes/ Volunteer at a VA Hospital http://www.va.gov/vetsday/ to honor veterans who bore the lamp of freedom in past conflicts. Support families whose loved ones are being treated at military and VA hospitals through a donation to the Fisher House at http://www.fisherhouse.org. Support your troops and lift their spirits by sending them a special "Gifts From the Homefront" certificate at http://www.aafes.com/docs/homefront.htm This link (http://www.army.mil/operations/iraq/faq.… also states that use of such sites as you were asking about is discouraged: "There are many well meaning Web sites, TV stations, and charity groups that are promoting donations to overseas Servicemembers. While well intentioned, you should not use them and you should discourage others from using them. These unsolicited letters of support or care packages to Servicemembers raise a force protection issue, since anonymous donors are different from legitimate family members and friends. DoD has cancelled mail programs which encouraged the American public in general to mail to Any Servicemember (versus a specific deployed person). These new programs attempt to do the same thing by gathering names of Servicemembers to send mail. While legitimate mail from family members and loved ones is always encouraged, these donor programs, which collect and pass out Servicemembers' names and addresses, is discouraged."

30th (Over the Hill) "gag" gift basket ideas anyone?

My boyfriend is turning 30 in a month and I'm trying to put together a "goodie" basket of gag gifts. Some of the ideas that I have are reading glasses, laxatives, depends, ben gay, a funnel (to be used as a hearing aid), just for men hair dye...... Does anyone else have any ideas of funny gifts to put in the basket? Thanks so much!! :-D

Need ideas for an 80s themed gift basket!?

So far there are 2 movies, candy, popcorn and leg warmers. Anything else specific to the 80s that I could add?
--------------------
A rubix cube, blue eye shadow, some huge earrings, jelly shoes, anything bon jovi, motley crue or a big hair band. Star Wars was huge and E.T. too. Sounds like fun!

which of these web pages/business ideas would be most successful?

all three of these ideas are ones that i love and could probably do sucessfully. custom jewlery making (bead work), party planning (along with lik 'gift baskets' as a gift ideas) or a natural/green cosmetics line that i'v perfected?
--------------------
Personally, I would not order custom jewelry online. Do you plan to host jewelry parties? How will people see and touch your work prior to purchase. If you do party planning, you may be able to add jewelry into that depending if it's showers and parties of that nature.

What to put in a "You're Expecting" gift basket?

I just found out one of my close friends is expecting and I want to make her a gift basket. Since it's going to be a while before we find out if she's having a girl or boy I thought I could have the gifts be more for her pregnancy instead of the baby. Here are some of the things I thought I could out in the basket: A card, balloon, small spa set, a parenting magazine, a "What to Expect When You're Expecting" book and a pregnancy journal. What are some other things I should include for her in the basket? I'm on a tight budget, but any suggestions are appreciated, thanks!

For the new mother something to indulge herself with and relax! Scented bath oils, candles, chamomile tea. For the baby create a gift basket with receiving blankets, baby outfits, diaper cream, baby bath items, baby rattles, lullaby CD.

Good gift idea to send my girlfriend?

my gf (21 years old) is away at camp, and I'd like to send her something in the mail. Right now I'm thinking some kind of gift basket since she always talks about the lack of decent food there, but I can't find anything really decent in the ~$50 range. Anyone have any ideas? maybe I should just send flowers instead? Help a lost guy out! Thanks
--------------------
There's a cute company fair ivy, that sends care packages to girls. I think it's subscription based, so you'd have to buy two or more months worth, but you can change her address after she gets back from camp so she'll get a second one when you're with her! Check it out at www.fairivy.com. Its classy and cute :)

Are you a hobby person & or crafter ? What is your Favorite ? How long have you been doing it ?

Let me know your age, and how you got started ! It would also be interisting to know where you are from . I live in Florida , and I have several crafts I enjoy . I do Scrapbooking , floral arranging , plastic canvas needle point , I make Cigar box purses and gift baskets ! I'm 52 yrs. old , and my late Aunt Betty got me started crafting 30 years ago to keep me busy while my children were away for the summer to keep me from going crazy !
--------------------
I am 26, and I crochet a lot; but I also make jewelry. The jewelry I make is under the 'chainmaille' or 'maile' category. I got into that when I went to the Michigan Renaissance Festival and saw a bracelet that I liked. My boyfriend at the time bought it for me, and after I got home I noticed it wasn't of the best craftsmanship and decided I could do better. I did some research online for supplies and have been making and selling it for 6 years.

Best vodka, bourbon & other alcohol to put in gift basket?

If you were going to create an alcohol gift pack for some guys what would you pick? I know they like bourbon and vodka but if you were to pick five must-have items to put in the gift pack/basket what would it be? I am asking around because I know the types of drinks I like (I'm usually a beer girl) but want some outside opinions on what staples would need to be in there. Already know I am probably putting one bottle of bourbon, one bottle of vodka, maybe a scotch or whiskey and some beer. But I am very open to suggestions of what you would include. I'm on a budget but have some time to buy one at a time if need be. Also they are from England in case that helps. Thanks would appreciate it.
--------------------
For vodka, my suggestion is Chopin. It's a Polish potato vodka and the smoothest I've ever tried. (Cool bottle, too.) As for bourbon, Makers Mark is another good one. Another cool bottle (look for the one with the red "wax" coating the bottle neck) and it makes a great drink, mixed or straight up. If you aren't a Scotch drinker, a good rule to go by is to buy a Scotch with "Glen-" as a name-starter. Examples: Glenmorangie, Glenlivet. The older the Scotch, the better it tends to be. Whatever the case, go with single-malt. Beer is difficult to give in a gift basket. If you're set on it, get them some micro-brews. You'll probably also want to stick with ales versus lagers (Europeans don't tend to like America's wimpy, fizzy lagers. Personally, I'm with them on that note!). Try to find a place that will let you buy by the bottle instead of by the pack. I suggest a wheat beer (or weissbeer...same thing), a dark ale, and a cream ale for variety. You could also put some barware in there if they don't have it: a shaker, a strainer, a zester. Maybe a really neat beer mug or drink mixers, too. You could also consider presenting your gift in a cooler. Have fun with this one! I've given alcohol as a gift a few times before. It ALWAYS goes over well. ;)

Guys What do you think of this Christmas gift basket for my Boyfriend?

So I'm putting a homemade Christmas gift basket together for my boyfriend. We have been dating for about 2 1/2 months. Hes 21 and is kinda of a simple guy. He likes video games and movies. So far I've got him Assassins Creed 2, Flannel pajama pants, a bag of the mini snack bag of Oreos, bag of mini heath chocolate bars, and a pepperidge farm summer sausage. Ive already spent about 70 dollars. But I kinda either wanted to get him the Hangover or some calvin klein cologne. I can get a Discount since my friend works at calvin. And some of hs favorite coffee grinds. That expensive Dunkin donuts coffee. So Do you think I should get him something els or leave it at what I got him already? If so which one or do u have any other ideas? And Guys give me ur opinion on the whole basket idea?

it's pretty cool already

Ideas for a baby shower gift basket?

I am going to a baby shower soon and I wanted to put together a basket for the new mom. I was thinking of doing things for when the baby is sick/unhappy, like Desitin, gas drops, baby tylenol, Vicks vapo-rub, etc. However, I don't have any children so I was hoping to get some ideas and recommendations from you ladies who have been there and know what helped you. What are your thoughts?
--------------------
Baby tylenol and baby motrin (doctors recommend to alternate the two when the baby has a fever), diaper rash cream, johnson and johnson's mentholated baby wash (really opens up baby's stuffy nose), thermometer, medicine dropper, gas drops, teething tablets etc... What I really enjoyed also is my family made me a gift basket that had things for me to do in the hospital while in labor and recovering....they packed travel sized shampoos and soaps, toothpaste, yummy smelling lotions, deodorant, extra absorbant kotex with wings (she will definitely need those, a big bag of them), a pretty robe and slippers, crossword puzzles, and a magazine.

What's a great gift for a great boss?

I've only worked here for like 2 1/2 months and my boss is waay chill; like super laid back. She made my first job worth the while and I've learned a lot. Next week will be my last week because I'll be heading off to college soo I want to give her a nice parting gift. I've thought of like gift baskets and maybe CDs or something but what else can I get her...? She's sort of girly. Likes computer gadgets and electronics.. listens to all types of music. . .
--------------------
Your parting gift should not be something expensive or permanent. I think a small flower arrangement for her desk from a florist, or even from a grocery store floral department, would be about right. They can provide a pretty little gift card to go with it.

Looking for a good, but decently priced meat and/or cheese gift basket, any suggestions?

I'm looking for one of those baskets that comes with an assortment or meat, cheese or bread. I don't want to spend anymore than $30 on it, but want to make sure I get something decent. It doesn't have to be a huge basket as it's only for my boyfriend and me to share. Also, I think a basket with mostly cheese and bread or crackers would be more appropriate because my boyfriend does not eat pork and most have mainly sausage or ham. I know Walmart and Target and places like that have a good price for these products, but I don't know which brands I can trust. The best one I've ever had was one my friend had ordered online, unfortunately, I have no way of knowing or asking which site that was. Does anyone have an suggestions for a particular brand to search for and also any particular website or store that would have a good value on them?
--------------------
Swiss Colony is my favorite, I always get good stuff from them. http://www.swisscolony.com/home.jsp?ogn=… You can find coupons and discounts online too. Here is an early bird special for cheese and sausages, that is 22.95 What I would do is get that cheese and sausage deal, then buy a loaf of bread from a local bakery that makes wonderful bread...about 5 dollars, and add that so it would be under 30 dollars, but with nice fresh bread! http://www.swisscolony.com/Gift-Boxes--B…

What to include in a basket for this woman?

She has a tumor in her brain and multiple ones in her lungs, and it might be in her blood, but it doesn't look like it so far. So far she's doing well with chemo and radiation, but we want to get her a gift basket to just keep her positive and cheery like she normally is. What could I include?
--------------------
You have some good suggestions and I don't have much to add. Concentration can be difficult during chemo - I love to read but couldn't concentrate enough to read much, so puzzles are a good idea if she likes them. My sister brought me the materials I needed for making cards; it was ideal, as it didn't require much concentration and I could spend as much or as little time on it as I felt like then put it aside till later. If it will fit in the basket, a warm and soft blanket is a good idea - another of my sister's gifts. I went from experiencing hot flushes to being too cold during chemo and it was ideal. Just a word of warning - it wouldn't be the best idea to include any perfumed items - bath oils, soaps etc. People who've had chemo can develop 'association sickness' where smells, that invoke memories of chemo can cause nausea for a long time afterwards - even years later. Many a chemo patient has been forever put off a favourite scent this way.

What should I bring for a Christmas gift for my boyfriend's family?

It is my first time meeting them because they live in another state. They have already expressed (to my boyfriend) that they have bought me a gift. There are 7 total: Mom, Dad, sister, sister's husband, and their 2 children, boy (13) and girl (10). I was thinking a Christmas basket that included things for everyone, instead of individualized gifts, since I dont know their personal interests (yet). Please help! Thanks!
--------------------
I like the idea of a basket of cheer. You could include things that can be served with Christmas dinner or if you are visiting in advance Christmas Even dinner or Christmas breakfast. I make baskets every year for people, and I love visiting the gourmet grocery stores to pick up things. Even the regular markets have a lot of the high end stuff these days at reasonable prices. You could also go to Le Gourmet Chef, Williams Sonoma or Sur le Table to buy components for your baskets. Remember to set a budget, and not to go over. Buy your baskets after you have the stuff to go in them so you don't feel you have to buy more stuff to fill it up. Craft stores like Michaels & AC Moore sell baskets that are relatively inexpensive, and you can always use the 40% off coupon from the circular. Here are a few basket ideas that I have done in the past - Christmas Breakfast Basket: Vodka & Bloody Mary Mix or Champagne & OJ Real Maple Syrup A fruit syrup Gourmet Pancake Mix Bag of good coffee Muffin Mix Rock Candy Stir Sticks Christmas Cocktails Basket: Bottle of Red Wine & White Wine Bailey's Irish Cream Several Cheeses Smoked Sausage/Pepperoni Holiday Sweets - homemade is a nice touch Fancy crackers/Bread sticks Mustard or other dipping sauce Dinner Basket (layered into a pasta bowl): Bottle of Wine Pasta Gourmet Pasta Sauce Loaf of Italian Bread Small pastries Movie Night: Pop Corn Sodas Candies Several Holiday DVDs that are family type movies for everyone to enjoy Relaxing Evening: Cocoa Mix, Coffee, Tea Rock Candy stir sticks Candy Canes Homemade Cookies

What to get my brother-in-law as a get well gift?

My sister's husband is only in his early 30s and has been in and out of the hospital due to a fairly serious condition. There's not a lot of research on it, so I'm not sure how it's going to turn out. Anyway, I'd like to send him something to let him know i care, but something more than just a card. I need ideas for gift baskets or anything that would be appropriate for a man in his late 20s/early 30s for this occasion. Guys, what would you appreciate if you were in this condition? Keep in mind, we live several states away.
--------------------
One of the things I'd do is send him a gas card for his wife. You can send it to him or her. It gets really expensive to go back and forth. A gift card for food at a favourite restaurant or one that is near the hospital could also help. This all depends on their financial situation but it is a gift that can be used and appreciated especially if the extras are putting additional stress on the family. What about music? An itunes card for his ipod (if he has one) or burn a CD of his favourite songs (if you know him well) for the drives or CD player. A music store gift card if he doesn't download would also be good. Does he love to read? I had relatives in hospital and would stop by the local thrift store and stock up on pocket books that they could toss when they were finished. The book store also has audio tapes. These are a few ideas but I wish him a speedy recovery and strength for your family.

What are the best way of marketing & advertising for a online gift shop?

Gift shop selling ready packed gift baskets & boxes etc....
--------------------
Sell them on eBay or Amazon, you already have the online buyers gathered together, so there's no need to go after your target market from scratch. You could also advertise your store on sites online buyers frequent, such as other online stores. I also think it would be a good idea to buy ad space on e-card sites. People go there when they need to send a birthday/wedding/whatever card (and they're already internet-friendly people who prefer to send it by email instead of using a paper card, so they probably buy online too), so they would probably need some other gift as the ones you sell. Think of it as a great way to reach the people who are more likely to be your customers.

What are some gifts for someone who is pregnant???

I have between 5-8 people to buy gifts for that are pregnant right now. The reason it is between 5 and 8 is....if I cant afford to do 8 I will only do 5 for now. I was wating to get some gift baskets together but I need some ideas on what to put in them without spending way too much. I was thinking maybe some birth control pills or something, just kidding. I dont know what to put in them. I was trying to figure out a way to make a basket out of diapers that they could use but I cant figure anything out. Are there any websites or anything with ideas? What are some meaningful things I could put in cute little baskets that wont cost me an arm and a leg???? Thanks in advance.
--------------------
this is the gift i always give diaper bag cloth diapers small wipe case with wipes bottles pacifier diaper pins if you give alot of little things like pacifiers, bottles, wipes and cloth diapers you can buy them in larger packages and split them up between friends. you could put everything in the cloth diaper and use it as the wrap closed with a pair of diaper pins.

My mom is moving away i need ideas for a gift basket ,any suggestion's?

My mom and stepdad are moving away because my stepdad got a real good job. i wanna make my mom a gift basket of stuff for reminders that her family is still here but to help her make their new place a home . i am going to add a webkinz (cause yes me and here LOVE them) i'm gonna make a scrapbook with pictures of us kids and grandkinds, but i want to put more stuff in it. I don't want to do the normal food, chocolate , same ol same ol stuff. does anyone have any ideas of what would be good to also put in the basket?
--------------------
Jo-Jo, Moms don't need baskets of fruits and sweets, they are an expression of "superficial love" they don't last long. This is what I think, You are very brave and unselfish and understanding, in your approach to this departure. I think your Mom and step-dad are over the moon that you are pleased for them to go live their own lives. To hear the words "I love you Mom and Dad" coming in no uncertain terms from you will be the greatest gift you could give them and the most memorable one. I love the idea of the scrap book full of pictures of all that are left behind. Sadly I can't help you with any suggestions to make your gift basket any more special, but I am sure that in due course somebody will, just remember, that they will be feeling the pain of moving away just as much as you will miss them when they go. be happy

Suggestions for gift basket for pregnant mom on reduced activity?

One of my quilting buddies went to the doctor last week because she'd been dragging for awhile and found out that she was 6 months pregnant. She had not had a period in 3 years, so this was quite a shock to her. She is 54 years old. I'm extremely happy for her and her hubby and would like to make up a gift basket for her that does not include food items. Other than hobby stuff or soaps and creams, what things would you include? She is not on bedrest at this time, but will be curtailing most activities after next week. Yes, she has 2 children already, but they are adults.
--------------------
get her a pregnancy book and maybe a magazine sudoku puzzles and crosswords does she have a favorite author or a favorite magazine? a book of baby names some smelly stuff for her to pamper herself with a pattern for an item of clothing she could make for baby pen and paper a baby blanket knitting needles and wool magazines from baby shops to save her having to go and get them eg babys r us magazine and mothercare magazine

What are some good gift ideas to put in a Valentine's gift basket?

I wanna make a basket of lots of small gifts for my boyfriend for Valentine's but I'm not sure of what to put in the basket. So far, I have 2 movies, some candles, and a Valentine's Day card. He's been looking everywhere for 2 oldie movies and I found them online so I want to get him those, and he loves those rich scented candles because his house always smells like our dog, so I ordered some of those for his apartment. What other small, cheap, but special gifts can I get him to put in the gift basket? Thanks!

home made gift basket?

Ok, so I decided to make my sister a gift basket, doesnt have a theme. I made a pillow out of her favorite color and stuck it in the bottom, then i filled in the top with a box of hershey's pot of gold chocolate, a drawstring bag with shower gel, bubble bath, soap, body scrub in it, and then 4 things of pop corn, a summer sausage, two packs of peanutbutter crackers, and then a mini stocking with candy in it and a few scrunchies, does this sound like a good idea to you?? do you have any other suggestions on what to put in it?
--------------------
I think thats a great idea, maybe a cheap cd or dvd she might like but if you don't have the $ or really don't want to get something else you have PLENTY!!! she will appreciate all the thought put into it. If you do want other suggestions, you could maybe add a new makeup bag, fingernail clippers, things like that.

How can I tactfully tell people NOT to get me a get-well gift?

I slipped on ice last week and broke my leg. I have had two other hospitalizations in the last 3 years. The people with whom I work, always get be a big basket of living house plants as a get-well gift. I really appreciate their thoughtfulness and generosity, but I really have all the plants I need right now and with a broken leg, don't need any more to care for. I wanted to know if there a kind-hearted way to tell them that.
--------------------
Just accept the gifts and give them away to a plant nursery afterwards. They probably won't find out about it anyway.

What is a good gift-basket gift for my best friend?

My best friend is about to have her 13th birthday. Last year for my birthday, she got me a gift I really loved, and I'd like to return the favor. What can I put in a gift basket (or a purse or beach bag) for her? It seems like we do the same theme, spa (lotions, bath bombs, etc.), for every Christmas and birthday. So far, my ideas include: Flip Flops Nail Polish And that's about it. Maybe I could do a theme- color to tie it all in? Like, pink flip flops, pink polish, pink bag...
--------------------
how 'bout: - a cute beach towel -a few of her favorite candies (doesn't totally fit theme, but whats the harm in adding) -sun glasses - even stuff to play in the sand in (pail, etc) could be kinda cute. just for novelty

Gift ideas for client, Christmas?

Please make suggestions for a Christmas gift? This is for a client I rarely see in person. I part-time freelance for him and I pick up/drop off the work and most of the time he's not even there. So I know nothing about his personal interests, hobbies, etc. His office is very sterile/non-personal and the artwork in there is just generic prints or framed posters of birds, sea scenes and landscapes. He is married and has grandkids. In the past, I've done gift baskets, wines, chocolates, picture frames. The one he commented on more than to just say "thanks for the gift" was the big picture frames to use for pics of his grandkids. I'd like to find a new idea this time. I don't like giving gift cards. Any suggestions?

Valentine's day gift basket for my boyfriend?

I want to put together a gift "basket" for my boyfriend for Valentine's Day. What are some alternative ideas to using an actual Basket? I've already decided to include his favorite cookies in the basket, along with a movie or two. What else could I include? We have only been dating each other for about 2months, but we've known each other much longer. We are both 17. He runs cross, plays hockey, and plays baseball. He doesn't like Dark chocolate, cherries or strawberries, and he prefers chocolate candies over sweet candy like Skittles and the like.
--------------------
every valentines day i make my boyfriend a "basket" (i use either gift bags, or since every valentines day we always get a nice room at at hotel resort i get there early and lay it out over the table, but gift bags are fine!) of his favorite things; candy, snacks, drinks, dvds, books, clothes, video games, picture of us, random valentines stuff, and anything he's been talking about that he needs or wants. he loves it!

Help! I want to make a gift basket for a friend for Valentine's day. What should I put in it?

We do a secret cupid thing at my work and the person I drew is a good friend. What can I put in a gift basket for her? I am not supposed to spend more than $15, but I already have the basket. She said her and her husband will not be doing anything for the special day because of the kids sports. I was kind of thinking a "spa" type of basket. I think she is on a diet so not to much candy or sweerts. Any Ideas? What would you like in a gift basket from a friend?
--------------------
Scented tea lights, and some lotions, soaps? Or maybe some pretty note pads, some gel pens, and miscellaneous desk stuff, on the "fluffy" side, that she wouldn't normally buy herself.

UNIQUE Valentine's Gift?

Well, I basically want to ask this girl out. We're pretty good friends but I don't want to do something too typical. I'm brainstorming for stuff I can give outside of roses, chocolates, necklaces, cards and gift baskets. Ideas?
--------------------
First ignore all the solicitors above. I did this last year. I got a picture of the both of us and took it to Kinkos. Some locations can put in on an oil or water painting canvas. I was really impressed by the way it looked. I think it cost around $85. but not all the stores do it. You can even sign the bottom of it like you actually painted it. lol

Items for company holiday baskets - suggestions?

This year, I am in charge of putting together holiday gift baskets for our employees and customers. Each employee must stay within the $75 range and each customer basket must stay in the $150 range. Our company does this every year and we are known for picking only the best foods (gourmet if possible)! In order to stick to the budget, I am having to cut out some of the more expensive items and replace them with still delicious, but less expensive foods. Here is my list of foods thus far. Any food enthusists are welcome for input! (Also, if you see a certain type of food here that you know of a cheaper brand but same quality - let me know! THX!): Lake Champlain 5 star bars Pieces of Vermont maple sugar candy snowmen Virginia Chutney Co. 3 jar gift set Franklin Fountain Wilbur fudge Popalops giant gummi bears Velatis caramels ToffeeHouse toffee bark Harry & David moose munch Harry & David brownies King Arthur Flour hot lava cake kit King Arthur Flour cinnamon streusel muffin mix Michaelene's Gourmet Granola Licorice Intl strawberry kookaburra twists Hickory Farms beef stick New Hope Mills buttermilk pancake mix Pure NY state maple syrup Route 29 Napa snowball truffles Macaroon Shop coconut macaroons

Would you want to receive this gift? ...give this gift?

I'm about to move forward with my healthy gourmet gift basket business, and I'd like to know your thoughts - do I have a market? A fine selection of the following for eg.: tea, coffee, cookies, chocolates, all the pantry ingredients ie rice, beans, spices, sauces to make an Italian, Indian or Mexican meal, honey, pickles, antipasto, dried fruit, nuts - the selection goes on.... upon inspection you realize that all these goodies are all healthy -either low g.i., easy and slow to digest/process, gluten free, organic, sugar free, high protein, high fibre, low fat - whatever combo supports your healthy lifestyle. Your gift may also come with spa goodies, fruit, wine or gift certicates for in home services ie: cleaning co., mani pedi spa services, hair wash and set, btw: I'd like to offer useful containers ie: trays, boxes, bowls, hat boxes, decorative storage containers, white cake box towers and tote bags instead of the traditional baskets with the handles. What do you think? Would you want to receive this gift, give this gift? Your comments are appreciated. Thank you!
--------------------
Sounds good. Worth remembering, is that people who need to be gluten free often also have difficulty with make-up, toiletries and so on that contain gluten. Though your containers may be useful, it may be difficult to also make them attractive. And a basket can be useful afterwards, anyway.

Can i use this basket for a baby shower gift basket?

I am making a baby shower gift basket and I was wondering if that basket would be okay or if I need the wooden/easter type of basket. I plan on putting a bunch of little stuff in the basket....like soaps, brush, nail clippers, wash clothes, burp rags and so on. I already have a basket and its pretty much the same as this one. Only mine does not have the two handles....so would mine be okay...honest answers please cuz i dont wanna go there looking sleezy
--------------------
I think it is fine....little baskets are always nice with a new baby. I had one in each room with my newborns to catch all the clutter that seems to accumulate all over the house with a newborn (pacifiers, rattles, caps, gloves, etc.) If you are worried about the overall effect....just line it with a nice blanket and it will be very nice. You may even want to wrap the whole thing up in Cellophane to make it appear very BOUTIQUE-ISH.

I want to make Wedding Cakes and Pastries! Do I need to go back to school for to learn?

Ok, so I graduated from Johnson & Wales in 2001 with my BS Degree in Food Service Management. I always keep saying how I should have continued on in Baking & Pastry, because now I really want to make Wedding Cakes, Truffles, Cookies and Specialty gift baskets and open a shop one day. Now that I know this is what I want to do, do you think I need to go back to school to learn all of this? Or would I be wasting my time and money? Especially since I own over $40,000 in school loans now as it is.... Should I get a job at a bake shop and make $10-$12 an hour and risk losing my decent paying Supervisor Job, to fulfill my dream??? What do you think I should do?
--------------------
It is always wonderful to figure out what you want to do in life. As for someone who has not followed the advice I am about to share I think it best. As the previous answer says, pay off your loans and go back to school, it is probably the best route to take. It is difficult to do that because you now know what you want to do. Paying off your debt will keep the stress of money you owe out of your new business equation. Dave Ramsey is a radio talk show host that guides people to become independent from debt. I am sure he will suggest the same thing. As for going back to school, it is never a waste of time to get more education. You will probably learn things about cakes and such at this school that would take you longer to learn on your own. It is always a great idea to learn from someone else, too. Good luck. Following a dream is more important than following money. We keep striving to earn more money professional in hopes of finding enjoyment in our private time. If we focus on doing things at work that would bring us pleasure

Christmas gift basket, I need HELP!?

Ok, so here's the thing, I decided to make a gift basket for my FIL because we don't know what he wants, and he was no help when we asked. So I have to come up with something , but he can basically buy anything he wants so thats what my problem is, does anyone have any suggestions?

a gift basket?

ok, i have a 28 year old sis and i dont no what to get her for Christmas. I had the idea i could make her a gift basket, but the problem with that is, i dont no what shes THAT into b/c we live a couple states away and i dont see her that much. she pregnant with her first baby (IM GONNA BE AN AUNT!!) but i dont want to fill it with baby stuff because her baby boy isnt due till like march. any ideas would be greatly appreciated! also, plz keep in mind, im only 13 so i cant go to extravagent (i cant spell. ha ha!) thanx, and MERRY CHRISTMAS!
--------------------
Hmm... if she's pregnant fill it with stuff that she can use to pamper herself with! The farther into pregnancy you get the more uncomfortable you get, and then after the baby is born you don't really have much time to pamper yourself, so it works out great to do it before hand! Maybe some stuff for a relaxing bath, and then maybe a cheap massager for her neck or feet, or a book if she likes to read, or stuff for a manicure or something. Just try not to get a ton of bath stuff, cause the last month of the pregnancy most doctors suggest sticking to showers, so she wont be able to use it all in time if you get to much. Opps I just realized I'm signed in as my husband! Anyhow best of luck, and I've noticed that you can go to the dollar stores and get nice baskets, tissue paper, and even basket bags and ribbon, so it will all look super nice, and then you can spend more money filling it with stuff!

What should I put in a gift basket?

My friend's birthday is coming up in July. She will be 14. I know it is a little early but I like to be in good time. I will be giving her a gift basket and I have chosen a colour scheme of lime green and shocking pink. I will line the basket with a fabric of one of these colours. I have already bought some pink soap (that smells of pomegranate) and a green notebook. Please help me think of more small gifts to put in the gift basket! Thank you for your help. xxx Please note: My friend is not obsessed with make-up!!!!
--------------------
a throw away camera would be nice, since it'll be her b'day! you could get the travel size lotion & put in, pony tail holders or a comb, a funky pen to go w/ her notebook, nail polish, gum, temporary tattoos, her favorite candy, a couple of fake flowers, a cupcake, a framed picture of the two of you (you can get neat frames at the dollar stores, and print the pic yourself on your computer), just think of what she likes. she's lucky to have such a dear friend as you!

Any suggestions for a great gift for my boyfriend's family?

I will not be spending the holidays with them but I would love to give my boyfriend something to bring from me when they have their holiday dinner. Also, I would rather get something for everyone rather than an individual gift for each person. The mom doesn't drink, so wine is out. The mom is also an amazing cook (she makes everything from scratch), so any entree or dessert I get will probably be worse than what she made for dinner. They are quite health-conscious too so typical holiday gift baskets of chocolates and cheeses will probably go untouched. I was thinking - a gift basket with some candles, fruit - what else? Or any other ideas rather than a gift basket would be appreciated too. Thank you! The family consists of the mom and 2 siblings in their 30s.
--------------------
What about a cookbook software program? The Mom could organize and print all her wonderful recipes and then give copies to the kids. A collection of board games, maybe 3 or 4 that they could play after dinner and at future get togethers. If you have pictures of them you could get each of them a digital picture ornament with family photos loaded into it. http://www.firststreetonline.com/product… If you are wanting to do the gift basket you can get some ideas here or just order one from them... http://www.wellbaskets.com/index.html http://www.gourmetgiftbaskets.com/Health… http://www.thehealthybasket.com/ Hope this helps. In-law's Christmas gift??

What should I get my in-laws for Xmas? They always give me nice gifts, but they are so difficult to buy for. They get tons of gift baskets from other people and companies; they have plenty of money and don't really need anything particular..What should I do?
--------------------
Well, I think a dinner reservation at a fine restaurant would be excellent for them. And make sure you get a nice photo to commemorate the occasion. People that have plenty of money don't need more "things" ... they give each other the "things" they want. So being unique and thoughtful is a better way to go. Giving them a really thoughtful, special memory is more important. Another thing for them would be the digital photo frame, the largest one, and load it with photos of things that are special to them. You can either take digital photos or scan pictures they already have but you have to do it without being caught so you surprise them.

Is this a good bridal shower gift?

My best friend is getting married and I wanted to get her something special for her wedding night. I've picked out this... Bed Of Roses *Limited Edition Set http://holisticwisdom.com/bachelor-bache… But maybe I should spend a little more. She is my best friend after all. What do you think?
--------------------
It really depends on what kind of bridal shower it is. When I had mine, my MOH wrote that it was to be more intimate gifts, like the one that you linked to. She said that I'd be getting the pots and pans, towels, etc for the wedding gifts. It ended up working out really well. That set on the link is reasonably priced... It has the romantic rose petals, chocolate body paints (not too erotic) and a normal body massager that doesn't have to be used in a sexual nature. I've ordered from holistic wisdom.com before and if you search for the word 'coupon' on their site, they have discount codes. They also do a flat rate shipping charge which saves money.

How to take sexy pics?I want to make a gift basket for my guy with sexy pics. What are good facial expressions

i want hot pics...so any ideas? He has already taken some of me at the beach...but i want something else thanks!
--------------------
blow a kiss with a lot of lip gloss on and your hair curled...take one in a bathroom mirror with your foot up on the counter...i know this one isn't of you, but apply lipstick, kiss something like a mirror or wall or a sheet of paper, and take a picture...wear a very fancy dress and spread it out around you and take it from above with a concerned, classic expression on your face...get in a bathing suit and take a picture, dripping wet, looking like you are 'blowing out' the hose, its hard to explain, but do a sort of Charlie's Angles thing with it...take one of you eating grapes, it sounds stupid, but there's something sexy about a bunch of grapes.

100 Employees -Gift Ideas Needed?

I'm responsible for coordinating our facility's Christmas party and could use some help this year. What we have always done is more like a luncheon where we all have lunch (company provided) and then pull names at random to receive gifts (purchased by the company). A gift is placed on the table and a name is pulled -you get what you get. It's fun when a guy's name is pulled for a feminine item like a gift set full of beauty stuff an lotions or a lady for a tool box. They always find someone to trade with and it makes it kind of fun that way. I have the lovely honor of figuring out what to buy each year for all the employees. We have 100 people, both genders, various ages, and all walks of life. Finding 100 items that are useful, giftable, and not cheap is difficult. Oh, did I mention that we have a budget of under $20 per gift including tax? Yep, that makes it even harder. In the past, my budget has been slightly higher (approx. $28/per) and I've been very creative in utilizing both sales and coupons with BOGOs to get some great deals and maximize the funds as best I can. Gifts are usually things like store and restaurant GCs, liquor sets, spa gift baskets, massaging chair cushions, foot spas, inexpensive tool sets, NFL themed lounge chairs or throws (blankets), neck massagers, marguerita sets, candelabras, picture frames, etc. One year I even did "meat gift sets" where I purchased stuffed chickens, stuffed pork chops, sausage, etc. and put a few assorted meats into tiny coolers as each set -all for under $25 each! But the problem is, this year the budget is tighter than prior yeras and I'm out of new ideas. I'm looking for gifts under $20 each including tax. It's nearly impossible to find a decent gift for that price. These employees do not get bonuses or any other extras for the holiday so this gift is pretty much it. Company logoed items are out (that's just tacky for an employee gift) and I'd like to keep the quality consistent with prior years. Would anyone have any suggestions?
--------------------
How about getting gift cards. You can get a $20 gift card and you do not pay tax on that. I would rather have that than some gift I probably will not use. Everyone can use gift cards. Get restraunt, grocery store, hardware store, massage, manicure etc. It is endless. Have fun doing it.

Sweet 16 Gift Basket?

Okayy I need ideas. My best friend is turning 16 in December (yes i know its early but we're both planning our parties and presents early) I wanted to make her a gift basket with all of her favorite things and our memories. I am going to include.. Car money in a cute envelope Her Favorite candy Old pictures of us hanging out Concert tickets??? Handwritten letter/card a kid's car key. I need more ideas. My budget is under $50 please. Some of her favorite things that i would like to play off of: Cowboys (the guys not the team) she owns horses and is a big shirtless cowboy fan =) Kenny Chesney her Horse she wants a puppy (i can't get her that so maybe a puppy-stuffed-animal?) She doesn't like to shop for clothes much so a gift card wouldn't be ideal. She's not really a girly-girl, she's more of the athletic type(basketball, track) She MIGHT be getting a car for her birthday.. her parents don't know yet. If you have any ideas please let me know.. i want to purchase items over time. Also.. if you have any ideas about decorating the basket that would be helpful too. Thank you.

Gift basket for a thank you to dentist and staff?

I've had to have a lot of work done on my teeth because I didn't go to the dentist for 10 years. I was so scared to go plus I didn't have insurance. So I finally went and got EVERY single thing fixed with my mouth. It took 5 visits to finally finish everything and Thursday is my last session. I wanted to give the office some sort of fruit basket or gift basket to show them that I appreciate them for taking such great care of me and being outstanding. Do you think that is weird to give them something like that?
--------------------
Nothing is necessary, but it's a nice idea. I've had a few patients give me a few things which in turn I usually let the staff devour it! If you do it, go for something sweet. My girls love stuff like that....

What's a good Christmas gift to a whole family?

I'm thinking of a basket type of gift. I thought of a "movie" themed gift (ie: Large blanket, gift card to blockbuster, some movie snacks and popcorn). What are some other themes that I could make a basket gift out of? This would be for a slightly younger couple (mid to late 20's and a baby).
--------------------
make a compilation of all of your favorite Christmas songs, that is what I do every year for my friends, family, and co-workers. they love it, some disregard it but most are anxious every year to get my latest CD compilation of Christmas tunes. ok so i'm kinda running low on money this year so i have a budget of $20 for a gift for my little sister. i was thinking of making her some time of gift basket :). so, she LOVES to sing, and she just started playing guitar. she also loves clothes and the mall (no gift cards though), and she loves taylor swift (but we already have all her songs). and she pretty much likes anything a 12 year old girl WOULD like. so, if anyone has any suggestion as to what i can put in the gift basket for under $20, i would appreciate it. thanks!

DIY Gift Basket Ideas?

Every year for Christmas, me and my boyfriend exchange gifts with our best couple friends. I buy for the girl, my bf buys for the guy. We;ve been doing this with the same couple for 3 years now. This year I wanted to try something different and put together a cool gift basket for her. So far all I have is 4 black martini glasses. I want it to be really cool and chic but am stumped on what I can add, any ideas? I got the glasses for a steal, all 4 for $10 and theyre really cool, I was thinking of maybe going with a black and white theme or something, but Im up to hearing any suggestions. Im a little hesitant about scented things cause Im not sure if she'd like whatever scent it is that I pick out. What do you think would be cool things to put in the basket? She's 22 if that helps.

if you want to go with like a cocktail theme to go with the glasses check out swoozies!! it might seem a little pricey depending on what you consider expensive, but since you got the glasses so cheap why not!!? they have super cute happy hour cocktail napkins that are HILARIOUS and they'll have them themed for christmas too!! lots of cute cups and plates...check it out!! good luck!

I know this is scented, but you could try organic or hand made soaps, there are some stores that have really nice ones. You could try desert toppings (like really nice chocolate or mango topping). A small parstle of more expensive chocolates from a choc place. Some jewellery, earrings, bracelette, necklace. A gift voucher or CD etc Something homemade (cookies/card/art etc) Bottle of wine or champagne or other drink. Something to compliment the glasses, like plates, candles or cocktail mixer drinks (in sachets) that can be used with the glasses. Bath stuff, like a robe. If she is into toys, like teddy bears, Look around there are some nice ones.

What is the worst thing you could give as a Christmas gift?

I always thought fruit baskets were bad but I think you could do worse. My ideas cheap candy that you can buy at any store or clothing that does not appear to be new.
--------------------
I guess I always thought of recycled gifts as the worst, especially when they don't even open the box, and I guess the worst case scenario here would be getting your gift back, as a gift. :) Tough! It never happened to me, but I do know some people who recycle gifts often. To me, the worst imaginable gift is also a gift that didn't cost you anything. You know, there's no thought for the person you give it to. I would feel the worst if I ever gave a gift that didn't cost me anything.

Can't help you with where to shop as I am in the US but your idea is very cute. Since she is 16 you might consider adding something cosmetic. Add products that let her do a facial or some lotion. She should be very happy....I'd love to receive that basket myself!

Deer hunters gift basket?

I find that the guys in this section are knowledgeable and great for helping me find gifts so heres a new one: For christmas I always put together some kind of gift basket/box of small gifts for my fiance. This year I want to get him a hunting/fishing one. I am going to get him a subscription to Deer and Deer Hunting magazine (I heard that was one of the best) but I dont know what other smaller, yet not high priced things to put into that basket. He likes realtree and white tail hunting. I was thinking of getting him nice hunting gloves but dont know what to look for? A gift card isn't really the best idea, you would have to know him to get why haha. Oh, and I have a Cabelas 40 mins from me so I will most likely be heading there for most of the gifts.
--------------------
The best place for you to find stuff like this is walmart. I do 90$ of my hunting shopping there because the stuff is cheap. The best advice I can give you is to go there and look. Most of the little essentials are under ten dollars. You can do the same thing for fishing, but it will be cheaper. Al the fishing stuff is on clearance and on sale since most people don't fish during the winter.

Gift Basket Idea for Job Placement Worker?

I want to get a gift for a lady who helps dental workers to get temporary jobs. I was thinking of making a gift basket with office stuff in it like pens, staplers, Post Its, notebook paper, etc, but I think she might have all that. I don't know her very well unfortunately. I was thinking maybe I should just go generic and put together a movie package type of gift basket with popcorn, tea bags, crackers, and some movies that I copied, although that idea might seem kind of cheap. Some movie ideas would be great as well. I was thinking of giving her a copy of Kung Fu Panda, and some IMAX movies.
--------------------
I wouldn't give her illegally copied films but the movie/popcorn basket is a good idea. Or a coffee/starbucks basket. Other ideas: Fuzzy socks Books, Mug, Hot chocolate, marshmallows Gift card to like a coffee or juice place (jamba juice) nice ornaments a lock of brad pitts mustache etc...
