My mom and stepdad are moving away because my stepdad got a real good job. i wanna make my mom a gift basket of stuff for reminders that her family is still here but to help her make their new place a home . i am going to add a webkinz (cause yes me and here LOVE them) i'm gonna make a scrapbook with pictures of us kids and grandkinds, but i want to put more stuff in it. I don't want to do the normal food, chocolate , same ol same ol stuff. does anyone have any ideas of what would be good to also put in the basket?

Jo-Jo, Moms don't need baskets of fruits and sweets, they are an expression of "superficial love" they don't last long. This is what I think, You are very brave and unselfish and understanding, in your approach to this departure. I think your Mom and step-dad are over the moon that you are pleased for them to go live their own lives. To hear the words "I love you Mom and Dad" coming in no uncertain terms from you will be the greatest gift you could give them and the most memorable one. I love the idea of the scrap book full of pictures of all that are left behind. Sadly I can't help you with any suggestions to make your gift basket any more special, but I am sure that in due course somebody will, just remember, that they will be feeling the pain of moving away just as much as you will miss them when they go. be happy
