You could go to a craft store and get some valentine decorations and hot clue them to the outside of the basket, you could spray paint the basket red and paint white hearts on it, or wrap it in red cellphone. You could tie all kinds of red and white ribbons on it. Fill it with curly red and white shredded paper before you fill it. Or just give it to him while you're buck naked, he'll never even notice the basked (of course, you have to be an adult to do that!) You could try to hot glue gun those conversations heart all over the basket also.

How to wrap a gift basket?

If you're giving a homemade gift basket in person, do you need to wrap it with cellophane or is the open basket ok? What if you're tying a bow around the handle of the basket --does the plastic wrap go over the bow as well? Or do you tie the bow around the wrap to hold it closed?

try something different & personal & related to the stuff you have in the basket ;-) eg. if you have toiletries, soaps, etc, throw in some potpourri flowers & herbs over the top [without cellophane so that they can be seen clearly] & add the bow or just glue a bunch of dried flowers/ pot pourri flowers in one corner. if you have cookies, loosely wrap them in a kitchen towel [try to make it from the red & white checkered pattern that are used for tablecloths to provide a hint] & add a scroll on top with some recipe or kitchen tips in it. if you have accessories, tie a silk scarf [or one of the accessories instead of a bow on the handle. or wrap a beaded chain all around the handle. just go with your instincts & aesthetics. all the very best & have fun.

I got my husband a trip to Hawaii for xmas and i'd like to put together a gift basket with the tickets and some other things. What kind of things would go good in there? I have 2 books on Maui, some macadamia nuts, flyers and brochures from some local activities, and the tickets but it looks so empty... i need some more ideas.

My Grandma is getting both of her knees replaced in about a week, and she will be away from home for about 2 weeks or more. Me and my Grandpa want to get her something so Im thinking about making her a gift basket. But I don't really know what to put in it. - since she's going in for knee replacement surgery, how about gifting her a throw for her legs [knit or crochet] ? she will be able to use this even in future. also a scarf for her shoulders. - besides crosswords, add other types of puzzles if she enjoys those [or she can learn a new type with all the free time she'll have on hand ;-)] eg. sudoku, kakuro, hitori, word search, acrostics, anagrams, etc. - add a board game that she enjoys & can play with her visitors too. eg. scrabble, etc. - a jigsaw puzzle would be good too. however, make sure she has a spare table or a thick/plywood board on which it can be done & kept without disturbance. - add a few chocolates, munchies, cookies, cupcakes,.... - is there anything she's always wanted to do/try but didn't have the time for? see if it can be done & add that. - if she enjoys cross-stitch or embroidery, add a kit. - if she enjoys reading, add a book. however, make sure it is light reading. - add an ipod or CD player with selected music [& headphones?]. - you have to add a "get-well-soon" card -- handmade would be really appreciated & signed by all the family. you could make it with dried flowers & herbs, sprinkled with some scent/attar. - maybe a mini scrapbook? - also include a blank diary or notebook where she can write her thoughts, feelings, memories, reflections.....during her stay. with this, you'll obviously need to include a pen or pencil. how about some color pencils/crayons too if she enjoys sketching? - a photograph of the family to display in her room. - you could even get all family members to say & record something on a tape/cassette for her, before or after her surgery, along with the card. she can listen to the messages & voices at will. - a perfume bottle - air freshener - glycerin soap - her favorite cosmetics, talc, ... make sure whatever you put in the basket doesn't require too much effort or concentration. because if she's in pain, she may not enjoy tough stuff. hope these inspire all the very best & hope your Grandma has a successful & pain-free surgery & rehab.

If you are going with a basket, I think you should include a sleeve of golf balls, a golf glove, some tees, maybe a shirt, a novelty golf ball (exploding/streamer), and maybe a golf hat. That would cover pretty much all the bases if you were getting him a 3-iron too.

Put some of her favorite movies in it, and some with Taylor Lautner, and ask to have a movie night with her. Put in that ice cream that she likes, and a box of good popsicles. Do you know what her favorite animal is? Put a couple stuffed animals in it that she can cuddle with and a warm & fuzzy green blanket! Even some flowers would be cute. in additon to hot topic, borders is selling quite a few things, and they were doing a promotion that if you spend 25$+ on twilight stuff, you got a free borders exclusive poster of edward and bella ^-^ i did it, and i love the poster to death. oh, and if you want to be creative, why not make a few things? you could put in an apple, a red satin ribbon, chess pieces...or try your hand at bella's bracelet? i found crystal hearts at my local craftstore, and a silver chain bracelet isn't that hard to find...i'm still searching for a wolf though...but i'm sure she would love that ^-^ and even just random things that relate to the books; you could print out the sheet music to Clair De Lune and stick it in there. and put in some rocks and shells from the beach (if you live on the coast) to represent La Push. and i bet if you googled around a bit, you could find a map of Forks ^-^ i could even scan one for you if you wanted - i went there this summer. just be creative, and dig around in the books. there's a million things in there! and remember to keep to the theme of red, black, and white :)

i like gift baskets! if it were given to me i would want some weird christmas perfume, maybe a $20 to $50 gift card to my favourite store(aeropostale!), some candy canes or some sort of christmas candy that isn't chocolate!(i dont like chocolate!) and some sort of jewlery. this may sound expensive but most people spend at least $100 on customized gift baskets. hope i helped!

Foot soak, scrub, and foot mask. Avon has some great things for that. A pumice stone or file. A nail shaper (multisided to buff the shine on top of the nails as well). Facial products. For example, a moisturizer that softens beard. Who was that guy on Queer Eye for the Straight Guy? Kyan? He used to have tons of recommendations for things to use. Everyone should wear a moisturizer with SPF though. Massage stuff. Massage oil, a book on technique, some products that do a massage. A super soft robe. When I think of spa, I think mani/pedi, massage, facial. It would take a special guy to appreciate this gift basket though. I know my husband would hate this and never use any of the products. You know your man but make sure this isn't a waste of money.

What a cute idea. I like the idea of the laminated emergency numbers. I would add the local restaurant delivery numbers and a magnet so they can keep it handy on the fridge. How about a map similar to what you get at a hotel front desk? Listing all the local businesses and recreation ideas. If you wanted to take this up a notch you could put together a nice little folder easily. Include all the apartment rules, contact numbers, local emergency and utility numbers. You could give local businesses such as restaurants, grocery stores, churches, shops, movie theaters, bowling alleys, etc. the opportunity to "buy in" to the directory. They can have ads and coupons and buy paying you a small amount to be featured in the directory they will get business and cover the cost of your baskets. A win-win. Bottled water (it's easy to customized labels with the complexes name). A branded travel coffee mug would be great. I can never have to many of these. And it's free advertising for you everywhere they go! Some nice little snacks are always appreciated. Maybe a branded beach towel to take to the pool. (if the complex has one)
