Nicholas Sparks The Last Song?

Has anyone read it? Is it as good as the rest of his novels? My neice is asking for it for Christmas so I'm picking up a copy to stick in the gift basket I'm making her. Is it good enough to have me picking up an extra for myself? Thanks!
--------------------
Yes, its pretty good. Its sad though. (think walk to remember) It has the whole growing up theme to it. And I think it has a good message. I really liked it. If your neice likes Romacne books about teens then she`ll love it.

I have a baby shower to go to and I need some creative ideas for a gift. Please help!?

So I have a baby shower to go to soon and I need some creative ideas for gifts. I love making things to make the gift more personal. I have done the bath tub with all the bath items, diaper cake with toys and diapering needs, done the basket with feeding needs. Does anyone have any other good ideas? I don't want to do something I have done before. They do not know what they are having yet (as far as boy or girl) but the registry shows moon & star and duck themes. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!!

For my daughter, the gift I thought was pretty cool was a piggie bank. A friend of the family brought a piggie bank and put money in it. He then passed it around to anyone who wanted to contribute. That was years ago and that money is currently in a bank account for my daughter. We still use the piggy bank and she loves to put change into her piggie bank. For my son, whom I am pregnant with now, my sister is hand knitting him a baby blanket. I think that is pretty cool. The gift I found most useful was a gift card for $240. That away I do not have to worry about returning things if they are not the right stuff and I have the money to buy baby essentials.

I am looking for ideas for a unique sympathy gift.?

My neighbor's step-mother just passed away yesterday, and I'd like to get him something other than the usual flowers or fruit basket. He himself is very ill (needs a kidney transplant, dialysis 3 times per week) and when he was first ill his wife commented on the waste of fruit from all the baskets they were getting and couldn't keep up with eating. HELP! He's not a real emotional person, either, so a plaque or something isn't appropriate, and of course it was his STEP mother, who he's had in his life only since he was about 30 years old.

Maybe a card,Jewelery,Candles,A journal,A figure of an angel or something.Or maybe a care package.Hope i helped((:

Would you send a "Thank You?"?

My fiance and I just paid our deposit to our wedding photographer a few weeks ago; Friday, we received a nice gift basket in the mail and it had a little note, attached, thanking us for choosing her to do our wedding pictures....do we need to send a "Thank You" for the gift basket? My original thought was to send one but my fiance says no, because we are paying for her service and it was her way of thanking us for choosing her! I just do not want to seem rude and ungrateful. Thank you for any help!
--------------------
I would say, DEFINATELY!!! You always want to seem very cordial, and polite to anyone involved in your wedding day. You do not want to seem like a Bridezilla. lol I think you should, because if the photographer thinks you are rude or anything, they can very easily mess up your big day... Better safe than sorry. Oh, and congrats. :)

An Australian rugby fan,a South African rugby fan and a New Zealand rugby fan An Australian rugby fan, a South African rugby fan and a New Zealand rugby fan are all in Arabia, sharing a smuggled crate of booze when, all of a sudden, Saudi police rush in and arrest them. The mere possession of alcohol is a severe offence in Saudi Arabia, so for the terrible Crime of actually being caught consuming the booze, they are all sentenced to death! However, after many months and with the help of very good lawyers, They are able to successfully appeal their sentences down to life imprisonment. By a stroke of luck, it was a Saudi national holiday the day, their trial finished, and the extremely benevolent Sheikh decided they could be released after receiving just 20 lashes each of the whip. As they were preparing for their punishment, the Sheikh announced: "It's my first wife's birthday today, and she has asked me to allow each of you one wish before your whipping." The South African was first in line, he thought for a while and then said: "Please tie a pillow to my back." This was done, but the pillow only lasted 10 lashes before the whip went through. When the punishment was done he had to be carried away bleeding and crying with pain. The Australian was next up. After watching the South African's Horror he said smugly: "Please fix two pillows to my back." But even two pillows could only take 15 lashes before the whip went through again and the Australian was soon led away whimpering loudly (as they do). The New Zealander was the last one up, but before he could say anything, the Sheikh turned to him and said: "You are from a most beautiful part of the world and your culture is one of the finest in the world. For this, you may have two wishes!" "Thank you, your Most Royal and Merciful highness", the Kiwi replied. In recognition of your kindness, my first wish is that you give me Not 20 lashes but 100 lashes." "Not only are you an honourable, handsome and powerful man, you Are also very brave", the Sheikh said with an admiring look on his face. "If 100 lashes is what you desire, then so be it. And your second wish"? "Tie the Australian to my back."

Would a guy be ok if a valentines day gift was delivered to work... IF?

I was thinking about sending a boyfriend a gift to work (he is a mechanic) but I do not want to make it wimpy. I was thinking about instead of a basket us something garage related, fill with grease rags instead of paper fillers, have tools and some of his favorite odds and ends to fill it up. I thought about having him a couple duct tape roses. We both have a sense of humor, but I do not want anyone at work to give him a hard way to go. If anyone has an idea to add to this please let me know, or if you think this is still a bad idea. : )

that would be a fun gift, and thoughtful. he'll appreciate the time you put into it as well as the humor of it :]

when you were pregnant would you have liked this gift,?

i got my SIL who isn't having a baby shower due to circumstances, (her having a baby by a man not her hubby) a laundry basket with the soft bottom lining, & put 5 onesies, 3 baby blankets, 2 bibs, 6 sippy cups, a 6 pack of spoons, 5 spill proof snack containers, 2 sleepers, 6 different containers of gerber baby food, a box of gerber rice cereal, 2 story books, 12 mini rubber ducks for the bath, a pair of squeakier mittens, 2 gerber apple juices, a cotton 3 in 1 set (it has 100 q-tips, 40 cotton balls, 40 cotton pads) would you like this, i was trying to think of things she'd need later on, not now, she is 45 and has a 12 yr old son so she's reusing everything from him, so she doesn't need any clothes or anything, we bought her a bouncer chair already, so would you like to receive this as a gift? thanks in advance for your answers. sil means sister in law for those who don't know
--------------------
Sounds absolutely wonderful! I received something similar. My friend bought and infant tub and filled it with all sorts of bath time accessories (some I can use now, but most are for later when my son can sit up and play in the bath). It had to be one of my favorite gifts :) It's so unique because so many people give gifts that are for immediate use or are not practical...

Would this be ok GIRLS ONLY?

Believe it or not, I have a friend who actually knows Rose Mcgowan. THE Rose Mcgowan! We've known each other for a while now and we've become good friends. Anyway, her birthday is coming up and I was thinking abut getting her a gift basket that included 2 boxes of tampax pearl, 3 packs of always ultra thins, 2 bottles of lotion, and a rabbit pearl vibrator. I think she would love it. Should I? And yes this a serious question.
--------------------
That sounds cool!!! I'd actually love it if someone gave that to me!!! lol???

How should I wrap this gift?

I'm putting together a little package for a friend's wedding gift--wine glasses, 2 bottles wine, 1 bottle sparkling wine, oven mitts & kitchen towels, wine stopper. What is an original, useful and attractive (and cheap cheap cheap--like under $5) container I can put all this stuff in? I was thinking a nice wire basket, but I can't find any for cheap. Any really original ideas? Like something I could get at Home Depot or whatever? thanks!
--------------------
That's a great gift. Way more personal than some fancy thing-a-ma-bob that will sit in the back of a cupboard. Who cares what you spend - it's REALLY the thought and care that's gone into the selection of the gift that matters. Like others, I was thinking a laundry basket. It is inexpensive and useful. Maybe a wash-up pail? Another option is a plastic wastepaper basket. Most homes can use a few of these around. What about a jumbo mixing bowl or popcorn bowl? A larger roasting pan would be good but it might be a bit more than you want to spend. Head for the kitchen and storage section of a variety store like Wal Mart and see what you can find.

How to write a quick and simple donation letter?

I need assistance writing quick and simple letters asking for donations such as gift certificates etc. from businesses for a theme basket fundraiser for a school. Is there a website?
--------------------
Introduce yourself and state your purpose. Ask for any contribution they may be able to make and state how it will be used. Offer a receipt if they need one for tax write-off purposes. "Hi, I'm (your name) and I'm a (grade level) at (school name). My (organization name) is having a fund-raiser (or say raffle, silent auction, etc.) to benefit (the organization, an outside charity, etc.) "We are asking local businesses to contribute gift certificates or other appropriate items for a theme basket that will be (auctioned, raffled, etc.) to raise funds for (specific function - school trip, the local dog shelter or whatever it's for.) "Thank you for anything you are able to contribute. Please contact me (or whomever your official contact person is) at the following (phone # or e-mail) to arrange for pickup or delivery. A tax receipt can be provided upon request." Then sign your name and title (president, secretary, etc.) if you have one. Hope that helps. Good luck with your fund-raiser.

unique gift ideas for an engagement party?

I am going to an engagement party for my good friend at the end of the month and want to give them a unique gift that they will enjoy. We were all in the theatre when this couple met & fell in love so I'm thrilled they are getting married. I've been married for 5 years now but never received an engagement gift and now I'm so busy I can't clear my head to think of a good gift for them. I'd like to say money is no object but it is. I'm usually well known for giving thoughtful handmade or put together gifts (like a "date" basket with 5 bags of popcorn, blanket & 5 different movies) but this time I'm stumped. Any suggestions? BTW I was told gifts are going to be at this party so I don't want to come empty handed.

A Couple's massage would be well received.

Pls help. Boss wants to give small gifts but unsure???, one staff JW? What to give? Presentment?

I am a boss of small team in large corporate co. There is not a policy against giving small gifts. I would like to show my appreciation to my team at this time of year. I have many questions about the whole thing. One of my team is a Jevovah Witness and does not celebrate Christmas and I want to respect that. We are part of a larger team and that team has already celebrated with 2 parties and a bingo holiday game where employees receive small presents. She opted to not participate but did appear unease. Tomorrow my small team is having a small luncheon and I am aware that my team has opted to give me a small group gift which she did not participate. I understand. I would like to reciprocate to all with a small gift but not sure what to give and how to give, how to present to not exclude her . I purchased small "food"gifts baskets but now wondering if that is right. I don't make much more than they do and can not afford a lot. What should I give, how do I give? Presentment?Help
--------------------
Maybe make a small speech at your luncheon stating your joy and appreciation of the team and it's efforts, and that you are offering them the food gifts as a Thank you . Even though it is a gift given at Christmas time, using the idea of a "Thank you for all you have done" type card would be acceptable to all. This way you are showing your appreciation to everyone in your team and thanking them with a small gift. If your team member chooses to refuse to accept your gift, because of her religion, just accept that with respect and move on with the others. The other work mates would be understanding of the situation and you only need to accept your gift from your team with understanding and respect. You are a nice person and a good boss to think of all your team this way. Congratulations and merry Christmas.

A youth organization raised $15,366 by selling gift baskets. Five different teams sold the baskets. Martin's team sold 48 baskets, Amy's team sold 138 baskets, Sharon's team sold 77 baskets, Juan's team sold 250 baskets, and Dee's team sold 126 baskets. Part A : Each gift basket was the same price. What was the price of one gift basket? Part B: What is the different between the amount of money raised by the team that sold the greatest number of gift baskets and the amount of money raised by the team that sold the least number of gift baskets?

License to sell baked goods?

My mom owns a hair salon in our house. Can i sell baked goods, fruits, veggies, eggs, gift baskets, etc from the salon without a license?
--------------------
Theoretically, your mom's business license should cover selling items that aren't food (gift baskets, etc.). However, there are generally more strict requirements for food-based businesses that require health (or similar) department inspections. Check with your county for the specific requirements in your locality.

Graduation Gift?

My friend graduated from college last semester and is now having her graduation party. She has been one of my very best friends for 7 years. However, she is very hard to shop for. The girl literally has anything and everything. Normally I would give money or a gift certificate as a gift; but, I want to do something very nice for her gift b/c she is my very best friend and she has been emotional supporting me through some very difficult times I have been having. She has very expensive taste (we both do actually) And when I mean she has everything, she does. She has about 5 designer purses (fendi, louis, etc) and tons of shoes, makeup, etc. She isn't in need of anything. I want to get her something special, yet partical and representative of our friendship. I was thinking about putting together a basket w/ a bunch of smaller items, but I don't know what to up in it. Any ideas? I'm looking to spend about $100-$200
--------------------
the basket idea is good. grab a huge boxx. and inside put a large teddy related to friendship. put pjs, make-up, bath set kit, and other gurl related stuff. GUD LUCK

Gift for my groomer and her employees?

My great groomer of several years. Private groomer in her own shop connected to her home. She really is superior and knows her stuff. It's her and her daughter and one employee all women. I was thinking of a bath and body works gift card for each one but I don't like it that there is a dollar amount on the card - seems "vulgar" to me. Then I was thinking of a gift for all three such as several wrapped candles in a one basket. I just don't know what to get. The gift cards would have been 15 each for each one- 45 total so thats around the amount I can afford to spend around 50. But then again everyone doesn't like candles or every candle scent. I'm just burnt out lately and need ideas. Thanks. Proud mom to two shih tzu one shih tzu mix.
