We have been dating for over 2 and 1/2 years and I do not work because I am studying hard to get into med school. I still live at home with my parents and he still lives with his. (I am 21; he is 22) However, my parents do not exactly help me much in the money department except for gas and food. I want still want to do something special and creative for him but I don't know what? I feel like I have done everything already (gift baskets full of his favorites, painted him pictures, made him CD's of meaningful songs, made collages, made a scrapbook, made a slideshow of pictures on the computer, and when I did have money I bought him the material things he did want) He is very picky and not your typical guy. He isn't into sports (except UFC), but he does like to work out...a definite gym rat. Somewhat into video games, but not so much. Hasn't even played them in over half a year. Very particular about his music choice, pretty much dislikes all modern music lol Is interested in business & stock market mumbo jumbo. I am in a pickle =/ he tells me not to worry and does not understand why I am even worrying about a gift for him but I want him to have a wonderful Christmas...

My future mother-in-law hates me?
Here's the deal: i always got along great with my fiance's mother. I honestly tried to be fair with her, considerate and when we had our son I even let her come in and see him be born because she was standing in the hall and i know she felt left out. On the holidays i was always the one to pick out her gift; i'm crafty, so i usually put together gift baskets for her. i called her and asked her regularly if she'd like to see her grandson, but she is always busy..working and running errands, so she never saw him more than three or four times a month. On my son' s first birthday she exploded on my mother, saying i was rude, immature, petty, etc and that i keep her away from her grandson. when my mom told me this, i was hurt and shocked, but i held my tongue out of respect for my partner. however, i did tell hm later, but he never even talked to her about it. needles to say, he just got worse; i tried calling her to straighten things out, but she wouldn't answer. finally, she called me and said some pretty hateful things, so i told her to stay out of my life and i also told her she wouldn't see our son again until she could treat me with more respect. my fiance agrees with me, but he's an avoider and still hasn't talked to her about it. before this their relationship wasn't that great; he didn't talk to her for FOUR years, but yet she blames me and claims that i keep her away from her grandson. i know she's just jealous because my son is more attached to my mom, but my mom is his primary caregiver when we're at work. i would have loved for his other grandma to be more involved, but he was never around. but now, i look like the bad guy to all of his family i'm sure, and my fiance still isn't opening his mouth and telling my side for me. it really hurts. he just doesn't like conflict, but i feel like he should stick up for me. i hate that things are this way, but i don't know how to fix it? we're getting married this summer and i would like to talk to her before then, but she is so irrational that she just yells at me if i call. would you be upset if your fiance refused to stand up to his mother? why is she acting this way? i am honestly still shocked because it came out of nowhere! should i try to call again? write her a letter or just consider her out of my life?

Your future mother in-law is jealous of the relationship your son has with your mother This is common..human nature For some reason, she may be jealous of you ! Are there any future sister-in laws in this picture? Are these women hard working decent family orientated women with good men in their lives? If they are not & you are..she wishes they were like you The caregiver gets much love Is this your mother- in-laws only (youngest)grandchild? Do not talk negative about this..Welcome to the club, there are many of us out here (me too) Be sweet, kind, patient, understanding & try to reel her in slowly into her grandson's life. A daughter's child is sometimes closer& special to the daughters mother Let baby get to know his grandmother slowly ,invite her over weekends for dinner..alone This will take time..work with your man to make this a successful transition Love is beautiful..especially grand kids love Good luck

Help!!!! I need Valentines day ideas!!! fast!!!!!!!! Help!!!!!!! I have alot to do!!!!!!!!!!?
Valentines day is coming soon. And I got a lot to do for some special people. So I got about 5 days to plan out what I want for V day, and to give gift baskets to about 3 families!!! Including my mom, my dad and my brother. (My brother is special needs and I love him so much. He loves me to! And by the way, he is only physically disabled.....so just because he's in a wheelchair doesn't mean he has a mental problem.....he understands everything I say. It's hard for him to communicate sometimes but he's a happy free spirited boy. Im sorry to write this it just gets on my nerves when I mention him and people are rude and say the same thing. By the way, don't be scared of people either......they know.) Anyway, I have a lot to do. I need some ideas how to decorate the baskets and what to put in them. One of the families has little kids about 3 and 4 and a new born. The other 2 I got covered. I just need to have some of the ideas for decoration.....and what's inside. I think a stuffed animal, roses, a coffee mug ( they all drink coffee-not the kids but....), some cookies, ( heart shaped ones) and a card. Maybe a Balloon too! What do you think?!!! Thanks!!!!

I see that you've decided to prepare some gifts to your close families ?f ? were you I would write all gifts in green hand writing first of all then I would never make a basket full with the same thing everybody should understand his or her place in my heart .so ? get for each of them a special gift ,for my brother on wheelchair a pair of shoes or socks or sleepers which am sure he likes their color . and such things for other members ,but never the same things

How did your church honor Mom's this year?
I have been the Special Events Coordinator at my church for several years. It has been a challenge to do something different every year but God has helped me. I have done the oldest, youngest, and the one with most children, had the children write essays about their Mom's and one year had the Mom's write an essay titled "What It Means To Me To Be A Mom." The judges did not know the identity of the writers and the three winners won wonderful gift baskets that I made. This year my helper and I made Recipe Cookie Jars for each woman in the church. Mason jars contained all the dry ingredients for 2 dozen Butterscotch Chip Cookies. All they have to add is butter, an egg and water. The ingredients are placed in the jars in layers and looks like sand art. An unbleached coffee filter was placed upside down on the lid and secured with a rubber band. The rubber band was covered with yellow curling ribbon and a card attached with a picture of a yellow rose and a poem. A small hole was punched in the top of the folded card and the ribbon threaded through the hole and extra ribbon made into a bow. The instructions for making cookies was printed inside the card. Everyone loved the gift and the jars made a pretty display on the steps in front of the pulpit. Please tell me what your church did.

Diaper raffle at baby shower?
I keep going back and forth about this one. Showers that I have went to before had guest bring in a pack of diapers if they wanted to be entered in a raffle. Some of the winnings have been $50 gift cards, gift baskets with $40 value. Anyhow I'm not sure if this sounds greedy? I'm not going to insist the bring diapers. I was going to word on invites "To add a little extra glee and help the parents to be bring a package of diapers (any size) and be entered in a raffle" or I can simply put "Diaper Raffle" just plain and simple? Any suggestions? anyone else doing this? I'm not having just a diaper shower it's a baby shower with a diaper raffle.
--------------------
I didn't do this at my shower, by suggestion of my mom, and she was smart lol. She said, and I agree, that people will spend less money on the actual gift since they are considering $20.00 on a pack of diapers part of their gift. What we are doing, to get some diapers and I thought it was kind of cute. We are having a guy baby shower. The guys are all coming over to hang out and just chill. On the little invite we put that instead of gifts we are asking them to bring diapers and wipes. I even guy proofed it. I put the brand name and sizes and where to get them on the invite. We decided to do this because so many guys wanted to come to the shower and my mom, who threw my shower, didn't want it to be co-ed. The guys are actually all really excited to do this lol. Just another take on it.

please, ADVICE?!??
im planning on doing some things to get money, an right now i have these things planned. im not sure which i may do yet theyre just ideas: 1*babysitting, 2*greeting/gift card illustrations, 3*gift baskets, and possibly: 4*online photo stocks, 5*that thing where you view websites for money.i have some questions/comments for each: 1: for babysitting, do you need some kind of license? 2: these would be for, say, birthdays, or for family friends my gramma or someone wants to stay in contact with, or holidays 3: for family friends/holidays 4: im not entirely sure about this one, but it seems good. 5: im not about this one either. i dont have a job license so i cant get a real job yet, so these are my ideas. if you have any advice please help!

well- babysitting is the easiest and pays the best. You do not need a liscence, but knowing how to do CPR will help along with some babysitting classes,(there only 20$)- you should be able to start off with a great start

Which One Would You Choose?
With the Christmas Holidays right around the corner I was thinking about either one of two things.....1. Buying Gift Certificates/cards or 2. Ordering from this place I found at http://www.blackriverbaskets.com I am handicapped so it's hard to go to the stores, so PLEASE tell me which you would prefer and why......I like the Gift Baskets, for right now, they appear to be more personal, what do you think? I don't seem to have much luck with places like Overstock, Ebay so please don't recommend them....I am only interested in the Two Ideas I mentioned...Thank You
--------------------
Go with the Black River Baskets! I say that because the website looks good and so does the selection of items. There's nothing wrong with getting gift certificates, although nothing says it better coming from the heart when YOU actually go out and get your own choice of a gift just for them instead of giving them the freedom to do it. They'll thank you in the long run for it. It's the thought that counts, right?

Recommendations for good, youthful maternity wear, body lotions, accessories, etc?
A friend of mine who is a diligent birth control user just found out she is pregnant (I guess that's why they say it is only 99% effective). Although it came as a shock, she is handling the news well and excitedly getting ready for her new arrival. Since this was so unexpected and I am sure she is terrified, I would like to do a little something extra to show my support for her (obviously she already knows she has it), by putting together a series of gift baskets with stuff to help her get through her pregnancy comfortably and in style. Of course I will be getting stuff for the baby too, but I want these baskets to be treats just for her. Does anyone have any recommendations for clothing boutiques (online or otherwise), lotions, specialty foods, etc. or anything else that they really enjoyed/helped them during their pregnancy? If it helps at all, my friend is smaller and in her early 20s. I would like to find clothing that is age appropriate and that she would be comfortable wearing. She is also very body conscious, so stretch mark lotions and pregnancy workout tape recommendations would be great as well.
--------------------
That is so sweet of you! Don't jump into clothing stuff just yet, your not sure how big she'll get. I am 35 weeks pregnant, and someday you can't even tell. As far as lotions, get her some stretch mark lotion. It is sold at Walmart and Motherhood Maternity. Foods, "preggie-pops" they sell those online or at babiesrus. The help with the nausea the first 3 months or so. My fiance bought me a pregnancy work out DVD and I love it. There are a lot of choices. Since you friend just found out, I recommend get her this set of DVDs that has four disks, one for each of the trimesters and one for post-pregnancy. I hope everything goes well!!

If all the invite said was "Diaper Raffle", I would have absolutely no clue what that meant. In my opinion, anything implying "raffle" on an invitation seems a little tacky, though I think your intentions are in the right place. :-) A baby shower I went to a few months ago had a Onesie contest where everyone brought in a cute / clever onesie. They hung all the onesies on a make-believe clothes line, and everyone at the shower voted on their favorite onesie. The winner got a $10 Starbucks card or something like that. I thought it was a cute thing to do at a shower.

What should I get my Fiancee's Mother For Christmas?
We have been together for almost 3 years. I was thinking of framing a nice photo of her son since she can never get a nice picture of him. Camera shy. But im not sure if I should give her a nice photo of the both of us together. I would obviously put the picture in a nice frame. What do you think? The pictures are black and white and taken outside in a forest so they look very elegant as if a professional took them. I am just not sure if she would want a picture of me...she hated me for the 1st half of our relationship. I stil dont know if she realllly likes me. Would this be a bad idea? We have given her gift baskets and candles in the past so those are not options. It's just a little something..since he doesnt live at home anymore.....Would giving her a picture of her son, portray a covert message saying...i have ur son now, he lives with me....here u just get a picture of him.??????Also, they already have many many plants in their house already. So i dont want to get her flowers or a pointcetta...or chocolates... Any other suggestions? a gift card is not an option. That is the easy way out.
--------------------
Give her a grandchild. (i'm just kidding) A picture would be nice, seeing as she can't get a good picture of her son. You should get her a spa treatment for two. Then, if your lucky, she might invite you! Also, I'm sure she would like you, after all, a mothers happy when her child is happy.

I'm trying to promote a website platform in my area. Please help me brainstorm some ideas for a sales letter?
There are over 700 businesses that have a website in my area. A local website platform will benefit area businesses by offering their services to the public. The i-net offers a detailed first look about a business that phone books don't offer. I am offering free profiles & website listings to new & exisiting businesses in exchange for word of mouth advertising. An agreement has also been reached w/3 local papers & a radio station to advertise my site in exchange for services instead of paying advertising expenses. Income will be generated from participating businesses that can offer services in their area such as: delivering flowers & gift baskets, ordering gift certificates from local vendors (day spas, golf shops, restaurants), & looking at a menu before ordering your food online. Offering these services over the phone have proven to be successful in the past, & w/good marketing, the i-net will benefit these services through visualization. Please help me w/brainstorming

how long will banana bread keep unrefrigerated?
I'm doing baked goods for donation for gift baskets for soldiers coming home. They have to be turned in ahead of time for the baskets to be assembled and then they are going to be put in the soldiers' barracks rooms prior to their return. We don't know their exact arrival date, so it could be 7-10 days from it being baked before the soldiers would be home to consume them. I know the soldiers would love something that is something different from the ordinary from-a-mix-cookie, but I'm concerned that the banana bread being moist and sweet would mold before they got home to enjoy it. Any thoughts or ideas would be great.

it would start drying out and attracting bugs after just a day, so i'd suggest packaging in plastic foil or airtight containers, and keep in a fridge.

What should I bring my host family in Costa Rica?
They live on a small farm. There is a mother who is 38, and we are considering bringing her an apron from Anthropologie, which are about 38 dollars, and very nice. The husband is a driver, and he is 45, I don't know what to bring him. There is an 18 year old boy, and again, I don't know what to bring him. There is a 12 year old girl, should i bring her something like nail polish, or slippers( cute girly ones)? And last, there is an 8 year old girl, and I am thinking to get her something similar to what I get the 12 year old. And last, I am thinking to get them a family gift of linens or towels. My mom lived in a foreign country, and was poor when she was young, so she thinks towels would be nice. It is most likely that the family is very poor, so I will NOT be bringing candy or coffee, or gift baskets, I would like to bring something nice and useful. Also, I'm a girl and 14, if it makes a difference. thank you

8 year old = barbie doll; 12 year old = make up & girly things; 18year old = find out which sports he likes, in example, soccer, buy him a soccer jersey or a Lakers jersey if he likes basketball; husband = polo shirt; mother = summer dress. the kids would also appreciate name brand shirts and such. the 18 year old boy will also like Nike branded shoes.

I want to give my husband a just "because" gift. Any suggestions?
Something different from the usual wine baskets, cologne etc. Something unique but still says I love you.
--------------------
That's very sweet of you. I think you should get him a gift certificate to his favorite store or if there's anything he's been hinting at wanting then you should get it for him. It's not easy to give specific suggestions because I don't know what types of things your husband likes but whatever you give from your heart I'm sure he will love it.

1. You take the square root of 2162, which is 46 and some decimals. Then you can tell approximately where the book is open to: 46*47 2. Use x and y for the different kinds of tickets. x=adults ($5) and y=students ($2) 5x + 2y= 410 x+y=100 5x + 2y=410 -2x-2y=-200 -------------- 3x=210 x=70 : adults y=(100-y)=30 : students 3. Monique's age=x, Monique's mother's age= x+23 x*(x+23)=518 x^2+23x-518=0 factor and you get (x+37)(x-14)=0 so Monique is 14 and her mother is 14+23=37. 4. This one is done the same way as #2. The total of x +y is 50 baskets and the total of 3x (3 pears) +4y (4 apples) is 185 pieces of fruit. Now just do it exactly like number 2. You come out with 15 pears and 35 apples. 5. At least one of the bills has to be a $1 bill, otherwise you wouldn't get change that includes something other than 5s and 10s (a "9" can't be divided by 10 or 5). a. I think it's $31 per ticket (a $1 bill, a $10, and a $20) b. 19 students 6. Breen=Lang-39 x=Lang x-39=Breen y=Kovic x+(x-39)+y=500 y=x-25 x=188 (Lang) Breen=149 Kovic=163

What would be something that me and my friend could sell on etsy?
Me and my friend are into crafts and i would love for us to get closer and open a business on etsy making unique jewelry or anything home related. I just want it to be something that people would want to buy without a lot of experience needed.. OH! and i can't work with thread. LMAO! I tried beading, knitting and sewing and all 3 of those drive me crazy! LMAO! Doesn't leave many options does it? She was thinking maybe baskets and wreaths and stuff. I thought as far as the baskets, maybe we could do gift baskets as well. Please let me know your thoughts. I am 26 and she is 20. I think we could do pretty good at whatever we do. Please let me know what you think would be fun and what would sell at the same time. Thanks so much guys and gals. ;) <3

Beading, knitting, and sewing are classic crafts, but that's not all that's available... Wirecraft (making pretty designs out of bent wires), paper mache, paper crafts using some kind of unique paper (common examples include collectible cards, interesting but not valuable baseball cards, etc.), simple pottery, and drawn/painted art. Etsy isn't exactly professional art; if you're concerned about creating stuff that haunts you, create a temporary Etsy account for selling stuff you're not sure of, and give it a try. The real secret is to START. To just try. One good tool for sales, though, is to come up with a story for what you've made, or before you make it. For example, woot.com sells (effectively) junk, but they tell a GREAT story with every item. This drives sales, to the point that they were able to sell themselves off to Amazon. You don't need to be that big, but telling a story connects with your audience, no matter the medium.

for DIABETICS what items could i put in?
a holiday basket that you would enjoy. I'm already buying sugar free cookies, candies and chocolate for the holiday baskets I'm making for my family. My father was diagnosed with diabetes so I've decided to give EVERYONE a diabetic gift basket. are summer sausages out? what about cheese?
--------------------
For me summer sausages and cheese would be great but,I have no problems with my cholesterol fresh fruits are always welcome too. For women candles and lotions might be nice. For your father maybe some foot cream as we have to take extra good care of our feet. Good Luck it is sweet of you(no pun intended) to make baskets like that.

A tasteful yet function way to wrap my homemade Christmas treats?
I will be baking my gifts this year again. I will bake 12-15 varieties baked goods. Last year, I put the different treats into zip-lock sandwich bags and placed them into decorated, woven baskets. I thought it looked a tad bit tacky as I hastily put them together. My treats have to be seperate; they include: Cheese&chive puff pastry balls, Macadamia nut brittle, White and dark chocolate almond bark, Monteray Jack and Jalapeno cornbread mini muffins, assorted cookies, and banana nut bread. HELP! Everyone will get the whole variety.

Wow...you are very generous! That's alot of work. You could wrap each item in waxed paper (to prevent oil stains and leaking) then wrap them in a nice gift wrap. That way each goody looks like a gift. Then put them all in a box, basket, or large tin. You can also get unfinished hat boxes at the craft store. I painted and decoupaged a number of them one year. They are large enough, and you can make them really personal. Goodies are also really fun given in a paint can. I got a gift from a friend that was packaged in an unused paint can with lid that she bought at the hardware shop.

How can my 7 y/o make a Christmas ornament or craft using colored sand??
This year, I'm making 'Cookies and Crafts' gift baskets for all of the adults on my list. I want to include a couple of crafts in each basket that my son can make. So far, I like the 'Salt Dough Ornaments' idea(http://crafts.kaboose.com/saltdoughgiftt
I'm looking for some creative ideas here (because I've come up with none!). I'd really like to get rid of this sand (I think I've had it for almost 10 years!!). And I'm really looking for small crafts or ornaments so they'll fit in the basket. Thanks!
--------------------
You can get plain glass ornaments at your local craft store. You will also need a funnel, and paper umbrellas. Pour some of the sand through the funnel and into the ornament. You can put a paper umbrella and stick it in the sand. On the outside, paint a sun and maybe some waves. Voila! You have a beach-in-December!
