My sister-in-law (my brother's wife) is just a vegetarian and thinks that vegans are crazy since they do not use any animal products at all. She has a vegan co-worker that is leaving for a new job and the workplace is throwing her a going away party (for the co-worker). She does not like this girl. She wants to give her a gift basket that includes a jar of organic honey, a wool hat and scarf set, some brie cheese, a box of tea leaves, two small loaves of french bread, and a bees wax candle!! I know the tea is not a problem, but I'm not sure on the bread (some places do an egg wash on breads to make them shiney!) The problem is, she is in charge of purchasing the gift basket at the company's expense. They gave her $100 and told her to put something nice together. She knows this girl is a vegan and knows it'll just put her in an akward situation. How can I convince her to take the high road and just be kind in giving a gift?
--------------------
OMG, that's terrible! What a horrible thing to do to someone else. You'd think that she would know what type of ridicule and hardhips veg*ns go through being a veggie herself. If you two are close, I'd offer to go with her to purchase the gift basket. If you don't let up and try your very best convince her that this is a bad idea, perhaps she'll change her mind once she gets to the store. At that point, you two can look for vegan goods together. Good luck with that! (yikes)

would you let a 2 year old have a play necklace?
you know the shiney dress up plastic necklaces? i am trying to put a gift basket together for my 2 year old daughter. she is getting a new baby brother, and i thought it would be fun to make her a basket of fun big girl things things to make her feel like a big girl.( big sister) any other ideas that i could thow in a gift basket like this?
--------------------
I like the idea of a gift basket. My daughter is three and I'm due to give birth around November 17, though I wouldn't be surprised if it was sooner. (The baby has already dropped, for one and my husband wants me to chill as much as possible, since my doctor is out of the office. I could see her partner, but we're waiting, especially, from what I have read on-line, I'm not exhibiting any other signs of potential labor, including decreased activity of my baby.) I wouldn't get her the necklace. However,my in-laws taught her that it was okay to put things over her head, around her neck, her wrists, legs, etc. I guess they, after raising five children, did not think about hazards. Once, they were here, and I walked into the living room to see her with a blanket tied around her neck. Yes, it was done loosely, but at the same time, I did not like it. My husband doesn't like it either. She has a three buckets that look like large ice cream buckets. (One is, actually. The other has Christmas decorations on it, and the other Easter. Ironically, they all came from my mother.) Because of her playing with my in-laws, she thinks it's okay. She has gotten the buckets taken away because she put them on her head. I also noticed that when they play, my husband will put blankets over her head. Yes, he is supervising, but I realized it one day and commented on it. Now when they do it, my husband makes sure he is holding up, more like a tent. Also, you're generally good at keeping an eye on her now, but throw a newborn in the mix... Even now, something could happen the one second you sneeze and my three-year-old is good at running off before I can fully blink. For me, I just don't think my three-year-old has learned the difference between playing, serious, and when it's too tight, etc.

Guys-- I need your opinions?
Which is a better gift idea for a 26 yr old guy? Option 1- We're moving in together soon. He's been talking about wanting to decorate with antique camera, film reels. I saw a cool antique film projector and thought I could buy the first item for his collection and "our" place. As well as make a basket of movie goodies and an invitation to a romantic dinner/movie night. (Only concern is since h hasnt started collecting antiques yet-- what if he changes his mind?) Or Option 2- make a gift basket for him. He has been stressed lately and I wanted to make up a basket for relaxation-- a t-shirt of his favorite band, lounge pants, bottle of wine and an invitation for me to cook him a romantic dinner, men's shampoo, his favorite candies, coupon for a massage, etc. What do you think he'd like better?

Ebay Selling Ideas?
I really would like to make some extra $ selling on ebay, but it is very difficult to find the right items. I want to sell items that are more homemade and less expensive, but yet would be ver popular on the site. I started with mystery auctions, and they do work but not much profit at all. I was thinking ideas such as a homemade bound coloring book or gift basket buissness but not sure. Ideas would be appreciated!

Hi I am an established seller on eBay. eBay has been my full time job for 4 years, and I have sold over 12,000 items. I have experimented with many product lines including books, CDs, DVDs, sporting goods, cookware, household items, cosmetics, and children's items. My product line now is mainly clothing and shoes. The only way to survive on eBay is to experiment and find out what sells. What is popular today may not be popular 3 months from now. You have to adapt to the trends and be willing to go with the flow. There is no "magic" product that works all the time, every time. Do some research and determine what has sold in the past, and for how much. Search completed listings for craft or homemade items - see what has worked for other sellers. I have a website developed for helping other sellers find success on eBay. There are free resources like my blog, newsletter with practical selling information, and work at home tips. You can sign up for the FREE newsletter. (There is also a link to my eBay store so you can see what I sell and read my feedback.) http://ebaysellingcoach.com/ Please email me directly and I can share more information with you, or if you have specific questions. Mother's Day Ideas?
What should I put in my mother's day gift basket? (Items or themes)
--------------------
Here's something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing: Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only you two would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it! The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle. Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard. Use graph paper, and pictures from magazines if you are not as good on the computer, and it will give it a homemade feeling. This is a really beautiful poem too! Women have strengths that amaze us. They carry children, they carry hardships, they carry burdens but they hold happiness, love and joy. They smile when they want to scream. They sing when they want to cry. They cry when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous. They fight for what they believe in. They stand up for injustice. They don't take "no" for an answer when they believe there is a better solution. They go without new shoes so their children can have them. They go to the doctor with a frightened friend. They love unconditionally. They cry when their children excel and cheer when their friends get awards. They are happy when they hear about a birth or a new marriage. Their hearts break when a friend dies. They have sorrow at the loss of a family member, yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left. They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart. Women come in all sizes, in all colors and shapes. They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you to show how much they care about you. The heart of a woman is what makes the world spin! Women do more than just give birth. They bring joy and hope. They give compassion and ideals. They give moral support to their family and friends. Women have a lot to say and a lot to give. -Author Unknown

I found a woman's wallet in a parking lot....?
Last week I found a woman's wallet in the parking lot near rite-aid. I looked through it and found her business card and called her work voice mail and left a message stating I had the wallet. It was late and she wouldn't get the message until the next day... So She contacted me and came to my office to pick it up.. She was an older lady and was very sincere, thank you, thank you... I told her that it was my pleasure returning the wallet and it will come around to me someday... She was the Vice President of Morgan Stanley and I should have asked her for a job.... But we just parted ways.. This morning I got into the office and there was a big Wine Country Gift basket on my desk from her... So my question is What should I do now? Should I call her? Say thank you or should I just leave it at that? The card said " In Appreciation of your good Deed" So do I need to call and say thanks now???

Definitely call her and thank her!!!

You don't tell your friend. You tell the person face to face. Tell them they should get checked out that they may have contracted something from you.

Right, so one woman is frowned upon for giving life and another should get a 'nice gift basket and thankyou note' for taking someone's life away. Scary!

How about a nice homemade colorful little box or gift basket, loaded with coupons / gift cards from each place: Frozen Yogurt place Ralph's Longs Blockbuster ... with a note to hope she enjoys fun moments with her treats. Then she can always add some money to upgrade and get more if she wants. You can check out Novelty gifts ideas from here: http://gift-gallery.us ...like the Jelly Bean basket or Movie basket, and maybe make it up like that for cheap with what you have there... Have fun! And wonderful idea :) She'll love whatever you do, I'm sure :)

Help me name my business!?
I am starting a gift basket business that will provide all natural and organic products for Moms, Dads, and babies. I need some help coming up with a business name. I was thinking "bundles of joy" as a play on words but it's such a common phrase I'm afraid it won't be unique enough. Also I would like to highlight the essence of my products (the wholesome nature) somehow in the name. Any help would be most appreciated!

Delta Sigma Theta?
I have to do a gift basket for the soros but I can't find any info on their organization "flower". And is there symbol the "elephant"? Are the colors "red and white"?
--------------------
-SInce you are asking these questions, I am certain you are not a member of Delta Sigma Theta, therefore your should not use the term Soror or Sorors (eventhough it is spelled incorrectly). -If you actually purchased a gift for someone (hopefully you actually know them and are not trying to kiss up to members to get in) you can find resources on the internet to help answer the questions you ask like search engines like Yahoo or Google. -Note that when you find some of the information on the net some symbols are offical and others are unoffical.

I think decorating is always something fun to do and that your mom would love that, especially if you clean it up! i also think that a gift basket would be a great way to go. another gift that my mom always loves is flowers, even if your mom doesn't have a big garden flowers are always a nice surprise.
