Give me the best reason why obama has not done one good thing for America and his biggest screw up from giving england a gift basket of DVDs to the Photo op of Air Force One in New York. 10 pts.
--------------------
Where are the new roads and infrastructures that are being built? Where are the jobs that he promised? Where is the small government he's been advertising? He has his hands in everything from banks to the auto industry. How is he going to remake America? Isn't America its people? To remake America is to condemn its people (that means all of you dems too). All you brainwashed caged amoebas with no mind of your own are blind to the fact that he's stripping your freedom bit by bit and feeding you a little bailout at a time. Guess who he's going to be taxing after he realizes that taxing the rich will not be enough to fill the black hole that will be created with his preposterous budget. That's right; you libs will be feeling the pain in your pockets. Translation; your children and grandchildren will be stuck with forking the bills. 100 million in budget cuts compared to a budget that exceeds 3 trillion is minuscule. The GDP dropped 6.1%, what plans does he have to fix the economy? Spend more? Honestly does it make sense to spend more if you're already in debt? That's the typical mentality in America. To sum it up, he has not produced any concrete results. Why is it about Obama anyways? Shouldn't it be about America?

What do peeps and easter grass have to do with Jesus?
Did the Pharisees throw marshmallow ducks at him or something? What about jelly beans? Eggs? BASKETS? Did his disciples bring him gift baskets filled with candy to welcome him back from the dead? This is all a bit confusing...
--------------------
Easter grass is in honor of teh Ceiling Cat - kittehs eat it in his honor - at least my kittehs did when they were alive. In Jesus's day, the baskets often had bread and fish in them - we've simply updated them with modern alternatives like Peeps, jelly beans, and chocolate. Nom, nom, nom.... :) Peace!

I am sending lots of gifts for hubby's bro's daughters 1st bday. Will it be expected that I send every year?
I mean I am sending a lot of stuff..a gift basket with outfits etc.I sent her stuff when she was born as well.Shes the 1st baby of the family and we can afford it.I am also due soon. I want to know if this is giving them the signal that we will send every year and in such big amounts for every bday or can we now base things on what they send us as our baby will be born soon...
--------------------
You are wise to ask this as people do tend to form expectations based on what you did in the past. Generally I think people understand that births and 1st birthdays are bigger deals. I have certainly given presents to non-relatives for those occasions and never given again. I think your strategy is wise to wait and see how they respond to your child's birth. What I would suggest is that even if they respond in kind that you start scaling back with your niece's 2nd birthday and then as she get older keep gradually scaling back. They should understand that with the birth of your child you have additional expenses. Plus once babies start coming it can be overwhelming how quickly families expand. Enjoy your niece and congratulations on your blessed event to come!

Christmas gift for Sister in law?
I have a 37 year old sister in law who is quite finicky. We draw names and I picked her. She has a sister who works at a spa, so I don't think I can buy a gift certificate for a pedicure etc. I don't want to give her a food basket, maybe a gc to a restaurant. Does anyone have any other ideas? I'm looking to spend between 30-40$
--------------------
Does she have any hobbies or interests you know of? I gave magazine subscriptions one year and my family not only loved how I'd matched them up with their interests, but they thought how nice it was every time a magazine came in. Year round benefits! As for restaurant gc's. I would go with a middle/high end type like, Olive Garden, Red Lobster, or Outback. $30-40 can be a nice meal for two at any of those places.

Gifts for Mother and Father to be?
My sister is having her first baby this summer. I would like to put together a gift basket for her and her husband. SOmething that is just for them, not the baby. Does any one have any suggestions on what to get each of them? Something funny (my brother in law and I tend to play jokes on each other) or something that will make their life easier

you obviously need to do some market research. Get some sample baskets made up and go on the streets and do some testing and feedback. Then do further testing on your identified target market (the people who are actually going to pay for your products). After this get as much feedback as possible to change your prouct into what the customer acutally wants and hopefully you will find a gap in the market. Take things slow, test, feedback, test, feedback... until you know you have identified a reliable target audience and an item/service people actually want, which they will come to you and will use you over and over. I'd even say get a job in a chocolate shop/boutique for a year or two to get the ins and outs of the industry... do your prep to ensure potential!

Whenever I don't know what to get someone I default to a picture frame - There are so many out there, some really nice ones, some with themes (in your case you can get a soccer theme one), and most everyone will use a picture frame - and few rarely buy one for themselves.

Anything homemade or anything made by your hands. There's nothing more meaningful that are gifts that aren't just purchased from a store. Here are some ideas- personalized cards, mouse pads, sewn objects, self-made tokens/coupons (Ex: "Coupon for a hug"), etc. Guys love items made by their girlfriends/wives, especially if they truly love them. Plus, homemade items are cheaper, although you'll need to put a lot more effort in them. There's no better way to show your love!

Baby shower gift question?
My sister in law just adopted a baby and is having a shower tonight. My other sister-in-laws and I went in on buying the stroller that she wanted. I picked up the stroller from the store and brought it home. There was no real way to wrap the stroller, so I decided to help her out by assembling the stroller for her. I thought when I get to the shower early, I would bring in the stroller, set it up by the gift table, and tie some balloons to it. We also bought a stroller toy, that I put in a gift bag with the card, that I plan on sitting in the stroller. I put all of the paperwork for the stroller, and the gift receipt in the bottom basket of the stroller. Now, I am rethinking doing this and don't want her to be offended. Her and I are very close, like real sisters, and at my baby shower, they assembled my stroller and I wasn't offended. So my question is, do you think this is tacky that I did this? I still have the box (and will let her know) in case she wants to return the stroller, and will be enclosing the gift receipt. I know it seems like a stupid worry, I just don't want to be tacky about it. Thank you.
--------------------
I would LOVE anyone who did something like that for me. When you're busy getting ready for a baby, it's hell to have to put a bunch of stuff together. As long as you're giving her the receipt and everything, I don't see a problem. You could even offer to dis-assemble it in case she wants to return it, but I doubt if she would want to. I think it is a very thoughtful gesture! Anybody can go to the store, but to take the time to do something like this shows how much you care.

halloween treats for a child on strict diet? any ideas?
im doing up a halloween gift bag for my significant others siblings. Two of them can eat candy and treats, but one of them, Kyle, is 12 years old and is 210 pounds and has a Clogged Artery and can drop down with a heart attack anyday. Therefore, he is on a very very very strict diet. So he obviously isnt allowed to have candy this halloween, and he is very down about it. What creative ideas can i do to cheer up this little boy to put in his gift basket?
--------------------
What I would do is make each of them a non-candy treat bag with stickers, plastic spider rings, temporary tattoos, etc. (age appropriate, of course. Not sure of the ages of the others?) Don't make a big deal of it that you have not included candy because one of them can't have it; just present them with the treat bags as normal.

Wedding Shower Gift - I need some ideas please! :)?
I'm a bridesmaid in my friend's wedding this summer, and her wedding shower is coming up in a couple weeks! Her and her fiance have lived together for a while now and they have all the household stuff that couples usually get at their shower, so I was thinking of doing a honeymoon-themed basket as a gift. They're going to the Bahamas, so I thought a beach/tropical-themed basket would be perfect! So does anyone have some ideas of what I could fill the basket with? I don't want anything like lingere, though.. I was thinking more along the lines of beach towels, flipflops, sunscreen, etc. So yeah.. any ideas are appreciated! :)
--------------------
I think that's a great idea! Along with your ideas for the honeymoon basket, you could also include: tanning lotion, sunglasses, some cash changed into their currency, water bottles, flippers, scuba masks, travel toothbrushes, shampoos or soaps, etc. Hope this helps!

What are great Christmas gifts for our employees if we're spending $100-$150?
Please keep in mind we have an "older" crowd of 40+ folks... men and women. Only 10 employees - we need something unique! We've done gift certificates, gift baskets, etc... any ideas?
--------------------
If you haven't gotten feed back from your employees - now is the time to do it! While you may have "already done the gift card thing" - they really do make nice gifts! Gas Cards would be most appreciated since the cost of gas is skyrocketing. I like the previous suggestion of a day at the spa or golf outing. Maybe a cute certificate that says "celebrate Christmas throughout the year - one day off with pay." Finally - maybe a donation in the name of that person to his/her favorite charity. You are already doing the bonus, party, etc. Maybe helping someone else would make everyone feel good!

21 gift ideas for a 21st birthday?
I am putting together a basket for a friend who is turning 21 this weekend... Inside will be a guide to turning 21 and what someone will need to survive. I have a few items already but I am drawing a blank... any suggestions? What I have already: Advil (because hangovers can be tough) Mints (to freshen up before a kiss) Sash & Crown (so everyone knows it's your 21st) Ballet flats (they'll be your best friend after partying in heels all night) and a few more... help please? :)
--------------------
I'd say those Colgate Wisp on-the-go toothbrushes, but you've got mints already, but hey, if you want both! :) -A bottle of beer (because, you know, it's not every day you can first start drinking legally). -This camera necklace: http://www.forever21.com/product.asp?cat ('Cause this is a moment to remember, but it's from, ahem, Forever 21. Plus, it's cheap. Personally I really love this, though: http://www.forever21.com/product.asp?cat - Two number candles: a 2 and a 1 (for 21! For her to burn when harsh bright light bulbs hurt her eyes during a hangover) -A bucket (for her to throw-up in. XD XD XD Plus, you could put all or many of the gifts in it.) -A pre-paid cellphone (so she can still give out phone numbers to guys and contact them if she decides to go out with them, but if she decides not to, she won't be swamped with unwanted calls) -A box of herbal tea (obviously, just the herbs are inside. For those hangovers) -A pregnancy test (you know how those parties are! It's just a joke, anyway. Hope she won't have to use it any time soon) -A box of condoms (just in case he forgets his) -Honey (I heard it helps with hangovers too) -Shot glass! -Foot balm (for after long night/s of partying. See Badger as an example, maybe: http://www.badgerbalm.com/pc-392-2-foot- -Pepper spray (in case the guy she's cornered by or goes home with is a jerk or worse, don't want to think the alternative) -Chap stick (to keep those lips nice and moist) -A photo from years before (to remember the good ol' days when you guys were so innocent) -Pancake mix (because their delicious after a long night of hard partying) -A hug! :D

PICKLED EGGS AND RED BEETS 2 c. (about 1 lb.) young beets 1/4 c. brown sugar 1/2 c. vinegar 1/2 c. cold water 1/2 tsp. salt Small piece stick cinnamon 3 or 4 whole cloves 6 hard cooked eggs Wash beets; cut off leaves and stems, leaving about 1 inch of the root end. Cook until tender. Drain and skin. Boil together for 10 minutes all remaining ingredients except the eggs. Let the beets stand in this liquid for several days. Add whole, hard cooked, shelled eggs to the liquid and let stand in refrigerator for 2 days. I usually buy canned pickled beets and just add the boiled eggs. Very colorful to serve at Easter.

What would be great items to add to these sports baskets?
My wife and I are going to be creating "Sports Baskets" for gifts that wives/girlfriends can give to their husbands/boyfriends. These will be sold by a storefront that has a liquor license and will include beers in addition to different sports themed items. What would be great items to include in the baskets? For example, a basket might contain a 6-pack beer sampler, peanuts, miniature baseball helmet (with favorite team logo), lighter and anything else that might go well in a basket. These "baskets" will not really be baskets but rather tin buckets which will be more "manly" than baskets. What items do you think might do well in something like this? Thanks!

I don't know how expensive you want to make them but how about including things like this: sports magazine tickets to a game coming up or tickets in a draw for this a hat with logo sweat cuffs/headband small weights pre-paid parking card sports socks boxer shorts with logo soap scratch lotto tickets small tool kit/leatherman fishing paraphenalia - hooks, sinkers, spool of fishing line tape measure (to measure the fish of course) dinner for two voucher 'stress' balls book about team stats for a particular sport noisemakers for games/whistle sports store vouchers pens with logos scarf in team colours trail mix HTH!

Hi I'm planning on coming to Mumbai for my wedding shopping. Can you please suggest some good but non-expensive stores in Mumbai where I'd get all my stuff (saree, fancy jewelery, shoes, wedding saaman, gift baskets etc.) Also I hate getting henna on my hands, can you suggest an alternative (like stickers) and where I can buy them? What would be a creative way to give a 16 year old girl cash for her birthday?
I have a very close relative who is turning 16 years old soon. I don't know what to get her, so I thought that cash would be the best thing. Can you think of a very creative way of giving her cash, or gift cards, without just sticking them in an envelope? I'm pretty good at making baskets up, but how can I do it with cash? Any ideas would be very helpful! Thank You Very Much!

You can actually fold the money up to look like roses. Then put them in a vase. I've seen this done. It's fantastic. Also my parents got a money tree for their 50th anniversary. Another creative idea.
