Would this be a good baby shower gift?

My brother and his wife are having their 1st and only baby boy, the chances of my brother conceiving were 1 in 100 from an old football injury so I want to make sure its a great present that they will get tons of use out of. However they have all the furinture pretty much taken care of .. I was thinking of getting a big basket full of the needs of the 1st couple weeks. What did you need/use the most the 1st month that you had your baby home?

Get them Diapers, Gosh u can never have enough it seems, Wipes, Socks, Bibs, Mittens so he wont scratch himself, Sleepers, lotion, a nice blanket, One or two pacifiers (soothie the same one as the hopspital uses). If you put things like that in a basket they would be really happy. Something that they will use a lot is a really good blanket that the lil boy will have forever. Get stuff that means something to you and know they will love it too....Good Luck..

I wanted to do a "fun bday basket" here's my idea so far: A car washing bucket as the "basket" Sponges, wax, air freshners etc to clean car. 4 mini bottles of liqour ($3 at liquor store) A koozie with his fave team logo on it A few (three or four) scratch off lotto tickets A small bottle of cologne (nautica blue got at ross for $20) Various chocolate candies A nice fossil wallet (also from Ross $10) and finally a $50 bill in the wallet.

football tickets for an anniversary gift?

my 1 year marriage anniversary is in may of 2010, yes i know thats a ways to go. but i want to get my husband football tickets to the 49er's game. i hate football and dont understand a thing about it! is it even football season in may? anyways, i want to know....how do i know which seats are good seats? i look at the charts provided but i dont understand them. i dont even know where to purchase the tickets. can someone help me know which seats are good? decent prices or what i should be paying for good seats. how much i should be saving for when game time is here? and where i purchase the tickets. also if its not football season, i was gonna treat him to basket ball. lakers and usc are his favorite teams. jus need some help and any help is appreciated

I need a gift to bring to thanksgiving dinner with my friend's family! ?

They keep a kosher house, so I can't bring food that I've made. Thing is, I was counting on being able to bake something and now I don't have time to get anything nice. Is showing up with supermarket flowers/homemade fruit basket better or worse than showing up empty-handed? I'm not old enough to buy alcohol either; I don't have a car, I can only get to the little dollar store and grocery store within walking distance. What do I do? Help!

How about something like a scented candle they can burn another time, or a box of chocolate (as long as its kosher) that they can eat later. Some people think that they must bring something that must be used right then, and that is not the case. Since the Hanuka holiday are upon us, perhaps you can find some of those disposable hand towels that are so popular now at the grocery store with a seasonal design. (They are very plush and come in a dispenser or basket, and are meant to be put in a powder room so each guest has a fresh towel, instead of putting a decorative hand towel in there that no one wants to "mess up") It is very thoughtful of you to remember a hostess gift. Kudos to your parents for raising such a thoughtful person!

A gift for my sister?

So my sister is having surgery next week. It's a tough surgery, she has a lot of ovarian cysts that need to be taken out, this is her 2nd surgery and her chances for kids keep getting less and less, BUT we're optimistic her doc is great ect. Anyway I wanted to get her something...I know flowers are nice, but I was thinking more like some movies or some kind of basket...things to keep her busy while she's laid up. Any ideas!? May your sister surgery go great next week. I know that God will be with your family that day. Gift ideas for her is just being her sister is the biggest gift you can gave her. Make her a basket of goodies, a DVD, like a love story, a book to read. Help her around the house. Help her make meals head of time and freeze them so all she has to do is put them in the microwave oven to cook. For the first couple of nights offer to spend the night at her house to help her if she need it. She will be very sore after coming home from her surgery . Baby shower gift question...

My friend's baby shower is this weekend (Sunday) and I just check her registry and just a few small things are bought. I did buy her a small basket and filled it with an album, 13-month calendar, gas drops, baby lotion & soap, diaper rash cream and a raddle. I didn't buy anything off her registry (except the 13 month calendar), is that ok? I'm wondering if I should buy something else, what do you think?

Baby Shower Present Ideas?

So my sister is having a baby in october and her baby shower is in august. I am throwing the shower. So far all ive gotten as my present is clothes and bibs. Since I am the only aunt I want to have a really great present, something my sister will love. But not too expensive im thinking under $100. Any ideas on something unique i could do with the clothes and bibs ive already gotten her? maybe like a giant gift basket? How about a diaper cake? You could look on Youtube for how to make one. I think they are really nice & very practical. The diapers from mine lasted me well over a month. It was 3 layers and stuffed with all sorts of goodies (lotions, baby wash, butt paste, spoons, socks, hair bows..etc)!

have you taste or do you know this food product?

lol i have no idea what this is. it came in a gift basket,. its called Calvé its in a tube like container. it has writing on it, but i don't understand it. the writing looks Croatian,Czech,Danish,Dutch. i don't know some form of european language. btw it has mushrooms on it. and i assume it is made out of it. have you seen, know, taste this product before. and if you have lol what is it thank. you ( one love) :)

Calvé is actually the Dutch brand (here in the Netherlands) of the company Unilever - you will probably know it as Hellmann's in the US, UK & Ireland, and if you do then you will see it's a big brand and stocks a lot of different products like dressings, sauces, mayonaise, peanut butter, etc The range is pretty extensive so it's hard to say, but I don't actually recognise it from the description about mushrooms and I did look at the website and there is nothing specifically with mushrooms (the Dutch word for mushrooms is 'champignions' Anyway, can you give me more of a description of the label, or even better the name on the tube (other than Calve) or list the ingrediants. stupid x-mas present?

my srupid and pathelic mother in law gave me a stupid gift. ok she gave me a scarf that was the ugliest color in the world and is small. she gave me a lotion and body wash from Khol, not it a package, it look like she brought something else and that was the free sample. and a basket woven set and not in a package, the instruaction it included blue paint but not in therfe, it is the stupidest present in earth, oh yea, she gave my daughter gloves set that ws too big and ugly. look like she brought it at the dollar store. she should have save her 3.00 for something else. ugh, i hate my mother in law. at least i did not have see her ugly manly looking face.

Has anyone got an inventive method of opening reams of photocopy paper?

It's universal. It's inevitable. It's messy. You go into the copyroom at the office, and the copier is asking for more paper; so you pull out a ream of 500 sheets. It's wrapped all nicely like a gift from the stationary store in the brand paper. HOW DO YOU OPEN IT PROPERLY?? Practically every instance that I have needed to replenish the copier, it NEVER takes whole reams. There is ALWAYS some paper left over that needs to be put in later. I am looking for a (quick) good way to unwrap and remove some of the paper without leaving the wrapper all mangled and messy. Does anyone have tips for this compulsive copy paper lady?? I have considered just taking the remainder out of the 'wrapper', and find a decent basket/box to keep it. But it has to be fairly protected, and this will be frequent.

I dunno about opening it "properly", but I use a small box-cutter knife to slit along one edge of the ream, and simply peel the wrapping back. You can then simply tip the thing up to remove the ream Simple :@) Scots

legal judicial question?

I had a bit of an unfortunate scuffle with a friend a few weeks ago, he turned on me and we were both drunk and he ordered me out the house for no other reason than he was drunk and chose to be deliberately awkward. He then assaulted me without leaving a mark and in self defence I bit him, he subsequently got me arrested for abh, the little grassing basket. Quite deservedly his TV got broken in the scuffle, also before that his computer stopped loading up windows, earlier in the day I said, Idd bring a copy of XP round so he could reload it. The law say Im perverting the course of justice if I contact him. But Ive thought up a slightly mad, but idea that I think could work and he might hopefully see it in its funny and humourous light, I send him a back up copy of Windows XP, then he know I sent it, but with a letter as follows. Enclosedideth by almighty god, who art in heaven, is a free copy of windows XP, so as thou may fixeth your computer, the lord has another free gift which shalt bringeth thee light, sound and vision into your life. (namely a spare TV Ive got in me room) the lord will also offer thou friendships in life ( meaning I will later shake hands and make up with him), but first you must forgive all those who have tresspassed against you and then in turn the lord shalt offerith thou total and unconditional forgiveness, ( meaning drop the charge and all is forgiven) as the letter does not poport to come from me, I assume there would not be sufficient evidence to do me for PTCOJ, would I be correct in thinking this, would I be safe as long as I wore gloves when typing out the letter and making the CD etc. And do you think it would work?

Well he loves to shop at D i c k s (had to space it because it stars it out) Sports Store, so I am getting him a gift card there. And he loves food especially healthy food so I was going to make him like home maid banana muffins, and other healthy stuff like granola, and then his weakness his rice crispy treats made with fruity pebbles so I was going to make some of those too. And I don't know what to put his treats in because like a basket is so blahhh, and he already has like 20 duffel bags from sports. u can try tsubasa reservior chronicles,god(!) save our king,avatar,princess be careful,princess comet. but if u liked card captor sakura u'll probably like tsubasa reservior chronicle cause it's the second pard of cardcaptor sakura. i love cardcaptor sakura & it's my favorite anime. all the best!
