My best friend is having a baby and has pronounced me as the God Mother. She already has everything she needs for the baby and more but I want to give her and the baby something special that they can have for their lives. I am artsy fartsy and am thinking about making a basket and putting this in it.
--------------------
A basket is a great idea, but please don't bring it to the hospital! Honestly, that is just one more thing the parents need to lug home. Instead, put together the basket and take it to her house a day or two after they come home. She will appreciate not having something else to make sure comes home! Plus, she will be in her own environment and a lot more relaxed than she was in the hospital, therefore she will be able to pay more attention to the gift and realize how much thought and effort went into it. Good luck!

Suggestion for Gift after Hysterectomy?
A friend of mines mother just had a complete hysterectomy, not because of cancer, because of complications with menopause. I was hoping to put together a 'recovery' gift basket of goodies and I'm looking for some ideas on what to put in it... like maybe a good book for someone her age or in a similar situation, or maybe something that would only be funny to someone who has had a hysterectomy. I really have no idea other than like chocolates and gourmet tea, but I want it to be kind of special. So I'm hoping to get some feedback maybe from someone who has been in her shoes (or mine) and recieved something that touched them. Thanks for your help!
--------------------
My, what a thoughtful person you are..that's really sweet. You'll probably get lots of suggestions. I don't know that a book on the subject would be such a good idea since it's so new and she may be just plain depressed and maybe feeling bad about herself and also in some pain. I think for myself I would appreciate a visit most of all with an offer of your services at any time. She may need some errands done that she can't do, or just a nice meal being brought in for her. A nice sweet friendship card with maybe a giftcard for a day at a spa or her favorite hair salon to pamper herself when she's feeling up to it would also be a welcome gift to me. Best wishes.

Making a Twilight easter gift basket need ideas?
My mother and I want to make my sister a Twilight Easter basket but we need ideas. She is 21 years old and a huge Twilight fan. She is no team Edward. She has all the DVD's and books. We want to know what we should put in it and what we should use as a basket. We are also re-doing her bed room if that helps. Any ideas would be great thanks :)
--------------------
well, here are some ideas: 1. this forks DVD- if she doesn't already have it: http://www.borders.com/online/store/Titl 2. use a regular basket just make the basket red and black themed. and maybe the actual basket should be white because it is easter after all. 3. buy something from this page: http://www.hottopic.com/hottopic/License 4. add other things that are the colors of twilight- like hairties, bracelets, bath items, candles, blankets, sparkles. you can get these things cheap from tg maxx, ross or walmart. or add each of the cover items- apple, that flower, red ribbon, and chess queen. red, black and pearl nail polish http://www.eyeslipsface.com/nails/elf_na 5. poster from walmart. they are only like 15$ also for her room could be one of the blankets (see 3. link) 6. twilight candy- it is in most candy stores (like powells ect.) and other accesories: http://www.hottopic.com/hottopic/Clearan http://www.hottopic.com/hottopic/Clearan hope that helped :) and goodluck AND you could also include stephanies other book called The Host i almost like it better than twilight :) http://www.borders.com/online/store/Titl More books about twilight: http://www.borders.com/online/store/Titl http://www.borders.com/online/store/Titl http://www.borders.com/online/store/Titl

Making newborn gift set, what should I put in it?
Hey all! My dear cousin is having her baby shower on Sunday. This will be her third child, but first boy. I recently had a little boy and I've given her all of his baby clothes. I cannot show up empty handed so I have decided to make her a gift basket. I know she needs essentials like bottles, pacifiers, etc. So far I've thought about the following: 1. bottles 2. pacifiers 3. blanket 4. baby book 5. teddy bear Anything else I should include or omit? Thanks in advance!

Does my Valentine's Day gift idea sound ok?
I was going to get a basket and make a little gift basket. In it i going to put two big hershey kisses (bigger than normal size, 7oz). Also, I special ordered a candy bar that has a wrapper with a pic of me and my gf, along with a nice saying on it. And finally i bought a lil glass key thing that says "you hold the key to my heart". Other than that i have a extra big Valentine's day card, which i'm going to write in it. Any opinions, comments, or ideas? Thank you!!
--------------------
I think that is a good idea. You could add a single rose with the basket.

Anniversary gift for parents?
My mom and dad's 12th anniversary is this Sunday, and I want to get them something, but I just don't know what. We're going away for my aunt's wedding, but im riding down with my other aunt, so i was gonna stow it in her trunk, and theyd be suprised when they got it because they wouldnt suspect it. But what should I get them? I wanted to get tehm something they could both use, but i dont have the slightest clue. My dad needs a can opener for his work, and my mom needs a pizza cutter, but theyre so seperate and kinda impersonal. Then I could make like a gift basket, but its kinda dumb. I dont know...HELP!!! THanks.
--------------------
You can get one of those collage picture frames, the ones that are big and have many openings, some are all one size and some are different. Put pictures of them from their wedding to now, through the years, leaving 2 openings blank. One blank to write Happy Anniversary and the date, and the other to take a picture of them on their anniversary and put the updated picture in there of the two of them and then the most recent picture of them is in there too, it's like a scrapbook of them for their wall. It is them through the years and if the frame has 15 openings, it's perfect, 12 for the pictures and then the other 2 to write what you want and then the recent picture! You can also make them a gift basket and give them the things they want. Being they both want kitchen items, give them a basket of kitchen items and make the theme of the basket a gourmet picnic basket, etc. Then you can put in there: The can opener The pizza cutter A gift card to their favorite restuarant Pizza stone (to go with the cutter) Personalized aprons Pastas Cheeses Favorite coffee and teas, cocoa Favorite snacks and chips Favorite cakes, cookies, etc Bottle of wine from the year they were married or champagne from that year Pair of wine flutes or champagne goblets Include whatever you think they would like. Make it so they can have their own little celebration in the hotel room and celebrate and then take home the gifts that they wanted. They will love having things with them that they can celebrate with, just make sure to include a red tablecloth to lie on the floor or bed so they can put everything on. OR You can call the hotel that you're staying in and order room service for them and have a celebratory meal sent to the room, or just a celebration picnic sent to their room, things like champagne and chocolate dipped strawberries, some fruits and cheeses, etc. Hotels DO things like this all the time! You just have to call and talk to them and then you can either pay over the phone or when you get there being you're going there too. You can even give them the can opener and pizza cutter to bring with the gift too and a card! I'm sure your parents would get a kick out of that too. You could also do a celebration with them in their hotel room, tell them that you're going to send out for dinner and meet them in their room. Then go out and get dinner and bring back pizza, champagne and some flutes and the pizza cutter and the opener. Then, you can set up the area and give your mom the cutter to cut the pizza and your dad the can opener, etc. Then present them with the champagne and celebrate with them. I DO like the idea of a gift a basket and I think they would too, especially if you give it to them to celebrate there. They can relax in their hotel room and have the champagne, some fruits and cheeses and then when you make it as a picnic basket, throw in the pizza cutter and can opener, they would love it! Especially knowing you did this for them! You can give them a can of olives and have the can opener there for that! You can also get a pizza and put the cutter in the box and then get something that would require the can opener and have that with it too. You can also make your mom and dad a pizza basket, put the pizza cutter, and the can opener, an apron, a pizza stone, olives, a bottle of wine, line it with a white and red checkered tablecloth,Then you can put a gift card to their favorite Italian restuarant or pizza place. I hope some of these ideas work and that your parents have a very Happy Annniversary!

A nice, useful baby shower gift?
I have been friends with this girl for about 8 years now. We lost touch there for about a year and half, and were just recently re-united. Her husband lost his job, and literally all they have for this baby is a car seat. Literally. I can't afford to spend one hundred dollars or anything. I was considering making a "gift basket" for her. But, instead of a basket, either a diaper bag, or bathtub. But, my problem is I don't know what to put in there. She's going to get a ton of clothes, I'm sure.. So I would like to steer clear of that.. Any ideas would help alot!
--------------------
Hangers, hypoallergenic (lotion, bath wash), teething tablets, baby tylenol, gas drops, changing pad, small wipe container for on the go (they're thin and rectangular), wipes, diapers, diaper rash cream, baby wash cloths, burp rags, (I didn't end up using either of the bath things I got for showers, I just like putting her in the regular tub on top of a hand towel so she doesn't slip), blankey, big fuzzy blankets, flannel swaddling blankets (these are super versatile and I love them!), shopping cart cover/liner, if she's planning on nursing - nursing pads, nursing shawl for public (again I like tucking a flannel swaddling blanket under my bra strap and just using that), a baby care kit (nail clippers, thermometer, things like that) lots of options that are small and fit well in a basket or a diaper bag or a Laundry Basket <-- I got a laundry basket gift with stuff in it, it was great because we needed one for all her clothes too! If you do a diaper bag, make sure it's big and has lots of compartments - I have in mine: diapers, wipes, hand sanitizer, antibacterial wipes for changing tables, a changing pad, small sample pack of (soap, lotion, baby wash, butt cream, comb - all burts bees baby stuff), spare outfits, flannel swaddling blankets, nursing cover, extra shirt for me (incase I get puked on), nursing pads, tampons, pads (just incase), any medicines like tylenol, gas drops, teething tablets, thermometer, nose sucker, tissues - lots of compartments let you stay organized and be able to find everything when you need it.

Special Gift for my Boyfriend Who's Moving?
My boyfriend just graduated from UGA with his MBA and is moving to LA for a job. I want to make him like a going away gift basket with things to take to remember Athens/me by. So far I have a picture of the two of us in a frame, a stuffed GA bulldawg, A picture of Terry business school (the MBA school at UGA), and a box of mac and cheese mix (something i always make for him). Any ideas of what else i could put in it? business stuff maybe? I'm open to any unique/cute/thoughtful ideas. Any guys out there who could tell me what they would like from their girl? Thanks!
--------------------
I would get a notebook or a journal-type book w/ a cool cover and use it to write down "remember the time?" stories, private jokes the two of you share, sayings cut out from magazines, ect. It's personal, one of a kind, and will fit in the basket :)

Christmas gift for brother in law?
I'm at a complete loss here. I have no clue what to get him. I want to spend about $5 (that's all I need to spend/can afford with baby coming). I got my sister some nail stuff (buffer, file, clippers, polish) to make like a gift basket. Does anyone have some ideas for him? He hunts and cooks, always loses his (well, my sister's mainly) coffee cups lol.
--------------------
Does he lose his keys frequently too? I do! I got a stocking stuffer for myself (lol) from Santa at Wal-Mart. It's a key finder thing. You put it on your key chain and if you lose them, you just whistle and it alerts you so that you can find them. $5 even, plus tax ETA: It's something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Whistle-Key-Finder and it's located in the middle of the isles with all of their boxed holiday gifts

Which of these two gifts should I give to my female boss?
I have a female boss who is in her mid-fifties. I have two gifts to choose from to give to her for Christmas: A large Spa Gift basket. An expensive candle with gold leaves embedded in it which is on a gold stand. I don't know which gift to give her, and giving both would be too much. What is your opinion? Thanks!
--------------------
I like the idea of the candle with leaves around it. It's simple, yet elegant. I think the Spa Gift basket is kind of personal and may not be appropriate (depending how well you know each other).

birthday gift... (GIRLS ONLY)?
Believe it or not, I have a friend who actually knows Rose Mcgowan. THE Rose Mcgowan! We've known each other for a while now and we've become good friends. Anyway, her birthday is coming up and I was thinking abut getting her a gift basket that included 3 boxes of tampax pearl, 3 packs of always ultra thins, 2 boxes of playtex sport, 4 bottles of lotion, a wireless g-spot vibrator, a bullet vibrator, and 2 rabbit vibrators. I think she would love it. Should I? And yes this a serious question.

Try Ulta, it's like Sephora but cheaper. Or get her a KOR water vessel. They are the next big thing, she'll be ahead of her time! It's a water bottle that you can put a pic in at the top and it's BPA free! Plus a percentage goes to charity.

Is this birthday gift for my boyfriend too corny?
He's turning 18. I'm making him a gift basket with the following: -a panini sandwich cookbook for a sandwich grill he just got -a $15 jamba juice gift card (he's obsessed w/ Jamba) -bagels, avacados, juice (he always talks about these items and how much he eats them) -homemade cookies -a coupon from me for another batch of cookies I wanted this to seem thoughtful but i think it might be too cheesy. He got me a diamond necklace for my birthday recently (we haven't been together that long!) so i wanted to get him something special. What do you think?

I don't know what your relationship is like, but it doesn't sound too corny to me. Guys love food, love having food made for them, and love knowing that you paid attention to what types of food they like. I think he'll appreciate it!

Basket with sleepwear is a great idea - in addition to the flannel pants and a blanket, add fuzzy or colorful socks, a scarf and some gloves. If she likes tea or coffee add a mug and sample size coffee or tea bags. Add a cute stuffed animal.

50th Birthday gift for mom?
I'm going to get her a gift basket of assorted goods for her birthday, as well as a personal letter inside of a Hallmark card, and take her out to eat. But I also wanted something comical to give her about turning 50 years old - in a nice way, like a coffee mug (ideally) or t-shirt that I can go out and buy at a store. Online will take too long. Does anyone know of a store such as Bed Bath & Beyond or Macys or something that carries birthday gifts like this? Qoutes such as "It's a crime to look this HOT at 50!" Thanks!

What should I get for my friend's 18th birthday?
I really don't know what she wants even though we're the same age. She's not into make-up nor bags and CDs. And gift cards just doesn't seem special enough. She loves jewelery except that's what I got for her last year. I was thinking of some gift basket/bag but I wouldn't know what to put in it. Any ideas? What would YOU guys want?

For my bday recently a couple of my friends got me a photo frame. But they filled it with a collage of photos of me and them. It was really nice. Personal presents are always the best. xxxxxxx
