I am making bath salts for a gift basket but I am concerned about the food coloring that I put in.?

I mixed together my food coloring and then my body spray scent and then I laid it out to dry. But I am worried about that food coloring staining someones skin and turning the water the color of the food coloring when it is put in the water. So if I keep it laid out to try over night will it still stain?
--------------------
Letting it dry will not prevent staining. The colour gets reactivated when wet. However, you are only adding a tiny drop or two to get a pale colour, that there is hardly any colour at all. You won't need to worry about it at all. The water won't even be coloured when added to the bath. Just like the colour in shampoo is not a consideration -- it's too small an amount to make any difference.

Family Game Night Gift Basket?

I am making up some "family game night" gift baskets for some friends as Christmas gifts. The families that will get them are all adults and teens, no little kids. So my question is what should I put in the baskets. What are some good games. They have a few card games already and Scrabble so not those. I would like to keep it around $30-$50. Thanks!
--------------------
This is such a great idea, especially with teens in the house. A great way to keep the family together! Here are some great games for all ages... Apples to Apples Taboo Tripoly Poker sets Monopoly Pictionary Trival pursuit Scene It Dont forget The Lyrics Scattergories Balderdash These are just some that we have, but I ber if you search walmart online for games you can come up with great ideas. My dad was recently diagnosed with lung cancer. He starts chemo soon & I want to make a gift basket. Any ideas

I am thinking about small items that would assist him during this time, such as a travelling pillow or heating pad. Thanks for your help.
--------------------
That's so sweet! Lots of great suggestions. I just finished chemo 3 weeks ago. Some comfy shirts would be good, preferably button down if he has a port. One thing I wanted to add is a light blanket. Like a lap blanket. I know in the office I go to it gets very cold in there. Maybe a couple hats for him to have fun with. I think the women worry more about the hair loss than the men, but it depends on the person. I found that butterscotch candies took away the bad chemo taste better than anything else. Maybe a cd player or mp3 player if he likes music. He'll need something to do to keep him occupied during the treatments. I completely understand what the other gal was saying about getting lonely. When I first was diagnosed and started treatment EVERYONE I knew was right there. Sending cards, stuffed animals, calling constantly, etc. Now, I haven't heard from some of them in months. Just keep letting him know you care. Remember to take care of yourself during all of this too. ;) *HUGS* and prayers to you.

Ideas for a family gift basket?

I'm not spending much on Christmas this year, and I'd like to make a gift basket for my siblings and their families. They're all 30ish with kids. I'm pretty artsy and I can cook or bake. I'm looking for ideas of things that are inexpensive and can be appreciated by the parents and the kids. I have some homemade jelly, and I'll probably put in a movie, some popcorn.....I don't know what else! Can anyone offer suggestions?
--------------------
You're off to a great start. Include some sweets for the kids and some sugarfree sweets for the grown ups. Bake breads such as pumpkin or banana (traditional faves). Include a small figurine (often found at dollar stores) that say Love or Family or something along those lines. A few years ago a friend included a silver figurine that spelled LOVE. Every year I take it out as part of the Xmas decorations. You can also make or purchase inexpensive ornaments and use a paint pen/marker to personalize an ornament for their tree. Kids love personalized items.

christmas gift for a girl that is a tomboy?

ok.she likes manicures a little.i was thinking of making her a manicure gift basket.what can i put in it.or if you have anything else i could get her.
--------------------
The easiest manicure set ever, at www.seacretspa.com A friend just got me this for my birthday today. It's so cool, there this file with different sides, you just run them over your nails in the order it tells you to, then your nails are super shiny, as if having clear polish on, and they feel real smooth. Good for a tomboy because it only takes like 5 minutes.

good gift ideas for a new mom?

My best friend is pregnant and for her baby shower I wanted to give her a gift basket type thing filled with stuff new moms need or use a lot that. Things she might not expect she needs. They can be things for her, or for the baby. Thanks all!
--------------------
One really cool gift you could do (and be a little creative with it at the same time) is make a diaper cake. You roll individual diapers in different sizes (newborn-3) and then make the tiers, biggest on the bottom and tie the tiers together with a ribbon. Then accent the cake with things she'll need like diaper rash cream, onesies, gas relief med (mylicon), baby soap, lotion, alchol and swabs, tylenol, etc and at the top, top it off with a pair of baby booties. Just a suggestion. In fact, I am making one for my sister-in-law and it is turning out great. If you need pics and better directions, there are several sites that have pics of diaper cakes.

Gift Basket for 13 year old Girl?

I decided to make a gift basket for my step-daughter (although I have never made a gift basket before.) Her "big" Christmas gifts will be wrapped, but I decided to put her small things in a basket. What are some suggestions for small things to put in the basket. Here's a few things I am already putting in there, Nail Polish - every color Nail Polish Remover Manicure Set Pedicure Set Lip Gloss What else?
--------------------
Nice scented soaps or toiletries, depending on if she's "girly" (go for natural essences etc) or "sporty" (go for patchouli, musk etc). Scented candles in coloured glass holders If she has long enough hair, some attractive hair slides (barrettes), a comb and brush set, etc. Hair gel if she wears it, or some little travelling bottles of expensive hair-care products--she'll feel pampered. Small bottles of her favourite colognes or perfumes, 2-3 different small size ones, to let her have a choice. A nail-brush; so useful! (For washing your hands) Get a cute one with an animal or flower or something. Mine is a pale-purple hippo and it makes me grin every time I pick it up. One of those twine shower gloves, or a loofah, or a net bath scrubby or two. Eyelash curler--extravagant but fun! Nice talcum powder in a pretty container, esp. if it comes with a powder puff...she may laugh but we all love it! If you have a bathtub, aromatherapy oils. You can get small bottles and she can add a few drops to the bath...get three or four different ones. Or, get her an oil burner to go with them and some of those little tea lights.

Baby gift basket, need prices, see details?

I'm going to visit my friend across the country, and she has a new 2-month old. I know she has way more clothes and toys than she needs, so how much would it cost to put together a gift basket with a week's supply of brand name diapers (assuming the kid uses 10 a day), formula, and a few new bottles? Plus other suggestions for the gift baskets from moms would be appreciated!
--------------------
I ALWAYS do gift baskets when going to see a new baby or attending a baby shower. Dipers, wipes, baby soap, and baby q-tips are always needed, but I always look down the road too, some baby cereal, baby food, and juice are things she will need and use in the upcomming 2-3 months. i also include some bubble bath and tea lights for mom. These are just to let her know you still think of her and wish her well too. Typically I spend no more than $35.00 and I get all of the above and a gender themed basket that they can use again and I am good to go. Now some things that I have done for GOOD friends are I made a shadow box using a sonogram picture and the name they had picked out and included cute sayings and found some really inexpensive booties and things at the craft store. That was the focal point of the basket. If you would like more ideas, I got tons, I would just need more info. as in the baby sex, name, what their room looks like, their parents style, ect. Well i hope that helps. P.S. i wouldnt put in baby powder, I still have the bottle I recieved from 9 years ago. It just doesnt get used ever since the link between infants getting yeast infections from corn startch and baby powder came out. Just a thought.

--------------------
You can go to Wal-Mart if you have one near you, or Walgreens, both have the smaller colognes for guys!! And they're brand names and less expensive!! I don't know of any online sites that would have the smaller size though... Have fun :o)

If Jesus died for all our sins, shouldn't we send him a nice gift basket or something?

Just a token. A voucher? Then he could get something that he really wants, like foot ointment he enjoys. Or would that cheapen the whole thing?
--------------------
Here is a man giving everything he has in gratitude for what The Lord Jesus accomplished . I wonder if it makes people sick to think of our profanity, carelessness and ignorance in so called civilised comfort and smugness? "Last week I spent several days in Gaga refugee camp, close to the Darfur/Chad border. It was my first visit there – I'm not an aid worker, I used to work in a bank in the City.Last week I spent several days in Gaga refugee camp, close to the Darfur/Chad border. It was my first visit there – I'm not an aid worker, I used to work in a bank in the City. The hardest part is coming back to the UK and finding our shops full of Christmas "junk" and our TV screens full of banal entertainment. And everyone seems keener than ever to wear their poppies in advance of Remembrance Sunday. Richard Dickson Gaga is "home" to 19,000 people who've fled to Chad in the last five years from the violent conflict in Darfur. The camp has six Primary schools, nine pre-school "nurseries" and three child activity centres that CORD help the Darfuri people operate. (Watch this video blog from earlier in the year from Treguine and Bredjing camps) CORD is one of the very few British, let alone Christian, organisations that helps people develop their capacity to build peace there. The relatively poor country of Chad is hosting more than 250,000 refugees from Darfur where it's estimated that since 2005 at least two million people have been forced to flee their home and as many as 300,000 people killed. As long as the conflict in Darfur remains unresolved, the enterprising and courageous refugees of Gaga have little hope of returning "home" in the short/medium term."

For xmas im making my friend a gift basket and i need some ideas of things to put in it.?

she almost 18 and a girly girl and i want to put things in it that she can use like make up stuff and just girly things. any ideas??? and keep it on the cheap side :) thanks!
--------------------
Girls love to browse in jewelry and accessory stores and love to have an endless array of hair accessories, bangles; charms… even iPod or cute iPod cases etc - iFanatic has some cute cases. A charm bracelet, jewelry box or necklace hanger may go down very well! If she is into reading then you could invest in a nice set of classic novels - or just the latest novel by their favorite author. When in doubt, you can always purchase a gift card… Book vouchers, Amazon vouchers, iTunes vouchers and hard cash in an envelop have always worked for me.

Ideas for Gift Basket for Daycare staff of Eight?

I am making a gift basket for my son's daycare staff. Any ideas as to what to put in there? Something unique would be good... thanks for any help in advance!
--------------------
yeah i'd think a basket from edible arrangements would be good. i really wouldn't make a gift basket out of anything but food for them, because otherwise it'd be hard to split up who gets what. i used to work at a school and during the Christmas holiday, we would receive Christmas cards from the parents with tip money inside of them. any nice gesture will surely make them feel appreciated =]
