Guys and girls: What would you do if?

If you spent your time and money doing small things for your significant other like:Making him/her an easter basket. Sending him/her good morning text messages every single morning. Texting him/her everyday when you get out of school to say bye since they have to go into school when you get out. Surprising him/her with small gifts or their favorite candy every once in a while. Or anything like that. What would you do if you did all those things and your significant other never did anything special for you? How would you feel? Would you talk to him/her about it, say you were disappointed or just let it be? How would you handle that situation.

Say, "***** there besta be a Easter basket for me Sunday or your gonna get the pimp hand!" That'll get your point across. :)

Is my brother being tight-fisted especially where is baby is concerned?

He is married and they both have well paid jobs and a house. They have a 7 month old daughter. They had lots of gifts for the baby when they had it,including some new clothing essentials. All their baby equipment were second hand, some which i previously owned including a cradle and a bath. They bought a bag of second hand baby clothes for £10 off someone. My brother thought he had a bargain saying they would be worth £200 new, which i doubted very much. They even had baby clothes from me,sleepsuits etc.I do not think either of them have bought the baby any new clothes since having the baby.As the summer is here i felt she needed some summer clothes that were pretty,as the mother just dressed her in trousers and a t shirt. She was pleased wit what i bought. They now use a cot bed that was previously used for the mother when she was a baby 30 years ago,the only thing new was the mattress. Anyway,i am a single parent of a 21 month old son.I was so overwhelmed with love when having my baby and made sure i bought everything i needed, mostly new clothes, new pram, bath, cradle, moses basket etc. Even a cute baby hat and bootees. Now they never even had a hat for their baby in the hospital like most babies do.Even now where the cot bed is concerned ,the sides are quite low,and i warned my brother about the baby sitting up or standing and falling out.Instead of butying a normal cot with high sides,he has decided to buy some wood and alter the sides to make them higher.I asked why,and he said its all to do with saving money. Its not as if they are in debt or hard up,they spend money on holidays abroad and on furnishings in the house no problem. Now,even though i'm a single parent i still feel it important to buy my child essential toys.Like as a toddler he has a sit in car,Smart Trike and a paddling pool now the summers here, stuff that i felt he needed for his age. When he was about 10 months old my parents bought him a swing. It was only used for a few weeks i remember and put away. He's too big for it now and i was going to sell it.Now today he asked me if he could borrow it for his daughter.I told him he could buy it off me.He straight away pulled a strop and said No,he wanted to use it and give it me back when he'd finished with it.I said i don't need it anymore. He then told me to forget it! He said he doesn't want to be lumbered with stuff and having to get rid of them when he's finished. He said he hates clutter.I asked him if he ever intends to buy his daughter essential toys when she's older, bearing in mind they have a massive garden,i said like a slide, childs swing like most kids have,he said No,they intend to take her to the park instead.Do you think they are both tight fisted where their child is concerned? I can't wait to see when she is old enough to play with toys properly what they will do,especially when shes a toddler and getting into everything and needed to be kept occupied. They don't seem to have a clue.Surely you want the best for your baby, but they don't seem to want that.
--------------------
I know what you are saying. I have second hand stuff for my daughter, but I do buy new stuff for her as well. I guess people are just different with their kids. We don't have much money but I buy my daughter toys all the time. I guess it's just they way they want to parent but I do think they are just a bit tight fisted.

Summer art class for kids ideas...recycled art projects?

My daughter asked to enroll in a summer art program, and I agreed because it was very low cost (money is tight until after I start getting paid after returning from layoff for a month). Here's the catch: After she signed up, we found out that it was a class in "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" projects. They want the students to basically bring in a set number of art projects ideas for the first class, and then each student will bring in materials for those that are selected! I think it's great and all...a nice idea for summer projects that can be given out as gifts by the kids later on in the year...but they each need ideas for at least five projects (preferably ten), a list of materials needed, and step-by-step instructions! EEK! Some of the things they talked about being most interested in being used are plastic bottles, tin cans, pop cans, paper milk cartons, plastic milk jugs, old magazines, old boxes (especially shoe boxes), and wooden picture frames (minus the glass). I came up with some old school projects we did when I was a child... 1. A bird feeder made with old two liter bottles 2. A pen/pencil holder made from a soup can 3. An Easter bunny basket made with an old paper milk carton and cotton balls 4. A weaving loom made from an old picture frame I don't think #4 is a good idea because it involves hammers and nails, and even though my daughter is capable, some of the children might not be. So, I'd like to come up with at least two more ideas...for kids ranging in age from 7-9...so nothing too difficult, and something that can be done in two hours (the length of the class). I was thinking about old cat food cans (the short ones, not the ones the size of soup cans). We did a project in 4-H once using them, but for the life of me I can't remember what we did with them... Anyway, does anyone have any ideas? Her class will start in two weeks, and I want to try them out with her to make sure they're not going to be too confusing before we make up the list. Thanks in advance!

taking mom on a birthday picnic...what should i take? BEST AWNSER AWARDED LATER TONIGHT :) ! ! !?

Ok. so I have the cake all ready to go, and her gifts are wrapped, we are going to a local park i know im taking a blanket to lay out....im using a box because we dont have a basket....what food should i take? i was thinking hot dogs? chips but i dont know, what do you think i should take?
--------------------
Hamburgers might be a good option too. What about flowers? Everyone like flowers. You can put them around where your picnic is going to be. I suggest daises, roses, and daffodils. Having a flowery theme might make everyone at ease and distract them from the humid and heat.

The Definition of Flight 24?

He's Beethoven Bryant… Now Hear the Music! By Ted M. Green | Kobe Bryant, Los Angeles Lakers, Column You wouldn't think a man who seems to have everything would need anything. You wouldn't think a man loved by millions might need a friend. Kobe Bryant has oodles of talent, tons of money, a pretty wife, beautiful young family and the respect, if not unconditional affection, of most of his peers. So what could a man with all that possibly need? Oh, just understanding, appreciation and, finally, an end to the hating. Understand what, you say? That he is the best player in the NBA by eons and quite possibly more skilled than even Michael Jordan. Appreciation? Yup, by finally naming him MVP of the league. And hating? That's right, it's time to put a merciful end to the petty envy and ugly jealousies, time to stop holding Colorado over his head, time to stop penalizing him because he's ridiculously gifted and kinda comes across like he knows it. It seems crazy to me that for every Kobe jersey you see in arenas around the country, for the millions of Number 24's that are worn in China, there seem to be an equal number or more who refuse to give this generational treasure his just due. I'm not talking about naming him to All-Star teams or All-NBA first teams or even paying him the 20 mil or whatever it is he makes in salary each year. He's earned all that. I'm talking about recognizing how hard he plays, how hard he works to make his teammates better, how he leads by words and example. The rap in the past that he didn't make his teammates better? Bullfeathers. He passed to them. They missed. What was he supposed to do, shoot it in the basket for them? Look at the Lakers now: If you don't think Jordan Farmar, Sasha Vujacic and Ronny Turiaf are all light years better than a year ago, you're just not paying attention. Heck, playing in the backcourt with Kobe, Derek Fisher at an age (33) when lots of guys are fading, is having a career year, with all-time bests in every shooting category. Coincidence? Not hardly. I'm also talking about how when it comes to being The Closer, Kobe makes Kyra Sedgwick look like a helpless little girl. Look under "4th Quarter? and Kobe's probably got a copyright in the government patent office. Know what? Forget all that. What I'm REALLY talking about is, for Kobe's detractors, the haters, to drop the pretense and stop the posturing and just admit that as a shooter, driver, finisher and defender, as the ultimate basketball Jedi master as we speak here in the late winter of 2008, Lebron James with all his Nike marketing power and funny/cutesy Old Man commercials, can't hold Kobe's jock. Or gym bag. Oh, he can hold it, all right, but only if he asks real nicely. By having the b*lls to light a fire under Laker management and calling them out last summer when they were derelict in their promise to put a team around him; and then, by putting those unkind words and bad blood behind him as if it never happened once he hit the court in November, never shortchanging his employers with his herculean efforts; by maturing into the kind of leader who pushes and encourages his teammates instead of scolding and demeaning them (see Andrew Bynum); by scoring points as if they're bunches of grapes; by making more highlight plays in any given game than most other so-called superstars make in a month; by hitting hundreds of shots that make you shake your head and wonder if he's even human; by leading the Lakers to the top of the Pacific Division and third best record in the NBA when many experts had them as an eight seed or worse; and dammit, by still playing like a genius virtuoso with a pinky finger that is so broken and mangled, a top hand specialist recommended immediate surgery; for dropping 41 on the Suns in Phoenix with a freaking half-broken shooting hand!; for all those reasons and probably 100 more I haven't thought of, Kobe Bean Bryant has finally earned the unconditional respect and admiration he has never quite received from a public that has never embraced him with the same affection they showed for MJ and now the new darling of Hip Hop Hype, Bron Bron. I've got your Bron Bron right here. It is absolutely incomprehensible to me, but yet fully expected given the history of Kobe Bryant, that not one major national NBA writer, far as I know, has been smart enough, fair enough or honest enough to come out right now and say what is now startlingly obvious: That if Bryant isn't the MVP this year, that award needs to be put on the shelf forever, never to be dusted off again. Know who the other candidates are this season? KG? Nope, been hurt. Lebron? With 26 losses in a conference that is dreck? Sure, whatever you say. In other words, there are no other candidates, not in the no-spin universe free of East Coast bias that I live in. In the real, un-spun NBA, it's Kobe's world and everybody else is just living in it. And if you don't believe me, ask the players. Trust me, they'll tell you. Now I'll be the first to admit: I've always respected Kobe, appreciated him, understood his athletic genius, but I never quite embraced him, either. There is, inarguably, something cold, clinical and a little too detached about his public persona, and his postgame sound bites. There is something, the hard edge, that slight chip on the shoulder people perceive, that does stop many fans from feeling warmth for him. But that's Kobe's vibe. It must be how the real assassins roll. Turns out that off the court, Kobe is giving, outward reaching, socially aware and generous with his time; he's warm with kids, busy with lots of community and charity work that never makes the papers. In fact, he wants it that way. But from this point forward, let me suggest to the haters that it isn't Kobe's fault some clever Nike marketer never had him be the one to dive into the pool or play four different characters including a grumpy old man. MJ, he gambled, caroused, [Swearing is not permitted at Clublakers. You must edit this post prior to submitting.] teammates, smiled at all the right times, became Nike's Jumpman, hit the very last shot of his Bulls career to win his sixth and last title (I can still see it in my dreams in slo-mo, the pushoff on Bryon Russell, as if it happened five minutes ago)…and now Michael, his Airness, lives in our hearts forever. Let me be the one to suggest to the haters that if you don't begin realizing that a true basketball Beethoven is passing your way again, Kobe Bryant is going to be gone before you had a chance to genuinely enjoy and embrace the show.

What would you do if you attended a wedding like this? What do you think of this wedding plan?

I know I want my wedding to be like 'elegant garden picnic' sort of thing. Like...Anne of Green Gables (If you haven't seen it, watch the links), but also unique and fun. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wcAzEea4j… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8hFVsFrYB… (this is a long one...what I mean starts at about 3:47) What I was thinking is, the ceremony would be in a lighthouse around 9am, and then we'd all go up to a nice camping grounds(not dirty, I know a place with a Stone Hall and waterfalls and everything.) The reception would be around noon to four or five. When people first get there, from whatever time it takes them to get from the ceremony to the reception until noon, there will be a table for gifts, snacks, signing the guestbook, and mingling in the Hall. At noon is a picnic, personalized picnic blankets set out with a picnic basket on each that people can fill with what they want out of a buffet table(of course there would be nice chairs, like the ones in the second video, available for those who have problems sitting on the ground)...kind of like at sit-down dinner weddings there's assigned seating at tables. Then from about 1:30 to 4 or 5 there would be camp/picnic games (a lot like the ones in the video), light music, or for whoever wanted to there would be a guided hike up to the waterfall. Then at 4 or 5 the latest 6(as an ending "ok that's it" entertainment, there would be a few professional storytellers there), most of the people would go home and just immediate family & the wedding party would stay behind for dinner. Dinner would be in the Hall, family table style, and would be set up like a memory sharing/video montage time. After all that's said and done, whoever doesn't like the idea or has other things to do could go home, but whoever wanted to would stay there and camp with us. Early the next morning we'd leave by hot air balloon. So, what do you think of this wedding plan? What would you do if you attended a wedding like this? (also, please skip the "oh that's going to cost ssoo much money, I hope you're rich." stuff. I'm no Donald Trump, but (sorry, not to be rude) I don't really have to want for anything)...so just answer the first two. Thanks. (=
--------------------
I think that having your ceremony at 9am is going to be a nightmare. A lot of people will resent having to get up that early and you will probably have a lot of people running late. In addition, you will have to get up at the crack of dawn to make sure that everything can be done. I also think that people are not going to dress appropriately and you are going to have ladies in heels and men in suits/sport coats (even if you write it on your invite). I also think that you should do everyone on the ground or chairs and tables for everyone. I understand about older guests but if I was at a wedding and had to sit in a dress on the ground I wouldn't be too thrilled.

Question about holidays with your significant other...?

Okay, so it might be a little corny, but I give my boyfriend an Easter basket every year and fill his stocking at Christmas. I usually try to do a little something on other smaller holidays, as well. I'm really curious as to whether or not other guys get these types of gifts from their girlfriends/wives. If so, how do you feel about it? If not, would you like it? Do you do it for them? I guess I'm mainly wondering because I don't receive anything from my boyfriend in return and I don't expect it from him. I do it because I like to. I just sometimes wonder if he even appreciates it and whether I should continue to do it. Also, girls, do you do this for your guy or does he do it for you? What do you think?
--------------------
I think thats cute and my sis and her boyfriend do that for each other .My parents also do things like that .Both of them get biggier presents to (atleast on Christmas)

living in hell in a hen basket?

well, i have got to tell someone to get this off my chest. I am engaged and living with my bf of 3 yrs. we have some relationship problems. he is very jealous and constantly thinks I am cheating. I have never and never will. I want to marry him. he calls me all kinds ugly names and tells me to %$#@ off. he constantly tells me to leave or he is going to leave. all this is said when we argue. then when i tell him how hurtful this is to me he says, "i LET myself feel this way, I do it to myself, its in how I take things." Last night he came home after being out of town a week due to work. I had him 4 nice birthday gifts (his birthday is in 2 weeks but he had such a bad week that I was only thinking of him to make him feel better and thats why i gave them to him, also, he may actually be out of town on his bday and that is another reason why) well, he thinks I cheated and thats why i gave him the gifts. I have did nothing but sit home at home and go to work, also i have 2 sons. pleasehelp
--------------------
boy, this sounds like my first marriage. i was with someone that did this for 5 years. constantly telling me i was cheating on him when HE was the one cheating. That is your first sign to a cheater. Does he give you money to pay bills with? Is it as much as it used to be? That is your second sign in a cheater. Is he buying new clothes, new underwear, new shoes and not really needing them? That is your third sign to a cheater. to my view point you must like this stress or you wouldnt have put up with it for so long. all this disfunctionality sucks. LEAVE HIM! its not a question of what attracts you to a guy, its a question of how much of thier bull are you willing to put up with! and you dont deserve this abuse. YES, HE IS MENTALY ABUSING YOU! dont put up with another minute of this bad behavior. 5 years was way too long, let alone your 3. this man needs mental help and you need a better man. i wish you luck.

Do you still think Kobe Bryant in the best player in the NBA?

I have read many article and quotes from current NBA players and they think Kobe is still the best. I would agree simply because i would go with the people he is playing against currently over any analyst. Period. They play against him and know what every player brings to the table. I mean Lebron is amazing, but i would argue he has been gifted physically. He is physical good. The guy would dominate football at his size and speed. Its not fair. But i think Kobe is way more skills, a more all around game, technicalities and fundamentals, and hes clutch. Not to mention his superior defense that does just rely on jumping really high to block shots. Kobe defense is just as fundamental as his footwork on offense. He guards people with a killer instinct just like with the last shot to win the game. Lebron doesn't really guard but really utilizes his strength and pure physical ability to play D. I still think kobe and lebron are equivalent when it comes to passing. Behind the box score is where it matters. Kobe alwasy passes to his teamates and they never make it when its outside the paint. Whenever i watch lebron and he passes it outside the paint, his teammates seem to make it most of the time. Thus i think its kind of scewed. And whenever kobe passes it in the paint, his teammates get fouled rather then making the shot, thus taking an assist from kobe. Kobe would lead the league in assists if you count if it leads to a foul or a pass leading to the pass for the score, like a hockey assists since he is setting up the play. For the rebounds as well, kobe doesnt hang around the basket for the rebound. He outlets, while lebron has to pat stats and stay for a rebound. He is under the basket way more so therefore he should get more rebounds. I mean the stats to me dont tell the true story. As for shooting percentage, lebron shoots higher because he is really strong and can drive the hoop. He does take smarter shots, but its only because he can rely on pure strength. I think he has a high turnover ratio as well, but Kobe probably does too. you can also attribute a small increase in shooting percentage for lebron maybe an increase of 1% becaseu he doesnt take a shot from half court as much as kobe. Watch replays of the series and you will see him hold the ball for some reather then shooting. the only time was when he made that ridiculous one, still he was set and there was more then a few seconds to take the shot. Watch kobe, he will hail it from full court with like half a second left just for a shot. I admit Lebron is amazing though. The things this guy does, kobe cant do. Still, the things kobe does, lebron cant do either. Both make their team better, dating back to like the 2000's, both teams have a losing record without them. So there it is, a small argument, obviously in favor of Kobe.
--------------------
If the NBA ceased to exist tomorrow, I'll have to say that Kobe, even without the rings has meant more for the game of basketball than Lebron. His stats are off the charts and his basketball IQ is superior than Lebron. In any case, Kobe has the edge, even though he IS on the "twilight" of his career. One thing needs to be said about Kobe though: The man fears no one and does not back down from the "last shot"!

How would you handle your kids grandpa if he was like this?

My son is 3 months old. My husbands Dad and Mom divorced about 2 years ago but anyways my husband's dad got re-married. My husband and his father work with each other so therefor they see each other everyday at work. The Lady my father inlaw married is a total weird-o, its like she doesnt want him to have anything" to do with his kids besides one of them which her daughters have a crush on, Yeah I know Freaky!!! But anyways, my father inlaw is very anti-social twords me, always have been, he is just set in his own ways. But anyways My husband and I had our 1st child this last past August, He is now 3 months old. My father inlaw never came to see his grandson when he was born at all, Chris's dad dropped a basket on my husbands desk at work, the basket had like wipes, Sleepers, things like that in it, but anyways we took it, Chris said thankyou...My father inlaw hasnt even asked to see our son, its very strange!!!!! Because he is ApeCrazy over his other grandkid. This makes me upset! Our son came down with RSV, My father inlaw knew he was in the hospital, and he is only 5 min. away from the hospital and didnt even come and see Donavon. But now around Christmas time I know he will get Donavon a few little things thinking it is gonna make up for everything, and I am really not a rude person but I really dont want to accept these gifts for my child because he hasnt been there for him at all, Nor even asks about him. I just dont know what to say to my father inlaw to make him realize? I dont even know what Im going to say to my child when my child wonders when he gets older why he is like this? Should I just keep him away from Donavon period so there will be no hard feelings when Donavon gets older? My husband has always felt like the black sheep and I dont want my kid feeling like that, ya know? What to do, what to do... hrmmm...

Talk to your husband about it. It's his father & he should handle the situation. Accept the gifts just to be the bigger person. If he wants little to nothing to do with your child. Then it's really his loss. Right now you don't have to worry about how your child feels about this situation. Give it some time & things may work out in the long run. If your husband starts to get the same feeling. Then something will probably be said eventually about the problem. Just don't get involved unless you have to (pick your battles wisely).

How crazy what this mom!?

I was at Wal-Mart picking up some gifts when I saw this little girl in the toy section crying. I ignored it for a minute waiting to see if her parent would come to her rescue but after almost a minute nothing. So I went over she said she was lost, that she was five and her name was Kesli. So I took her with me to look for her mom I put her in my basket and went down every section of the whole store calling out "Kelsi Mom where are you or Kesli is right here) It took amost 20 minutes then in a whole other part of the store there was her mom.(kesli actully had to say mom her i am before that lady even noticed us) she looked at her kid and said " Where in the hell have you been" then she looked at me and said " Who told to to take my kid" I explained everything and With out even a thank you she took her out on my basket spanked the kid and walked away. I was shocked. I mom could have been stressed but I could have been ANYONE and anyone could have taken and killed the kid
--------------------
You should have took her straight to customer service. Let them deal with her. You did good by caring for her up until the part where you put her in the cart and roamed around the store. Hopefully the mother won't have anymore kids, because not only was she missing this one, she was missing her brain too.

Need a male opinion (would like female too)?

My fiance and I broke up at the end of Dec. I questioned his relationship with an ex-- and he denied any involvement. He then broke out "I need time" and promptly began sleeping with her. He has barely spoken to me--and I mean 10 min total-- since then and when he does its with contempt and total hatred. I realize that he is projecting-- whatever... But after trying my best to make communication possible-- it just isnt happening. It's almost as if im dealing with two different men-- very strange. However, today I got to the point where Im looking around my house and I see all of the gifts he has given me and it just makes me so sad. So, I worte a very nice note saying listen I dont want these around me they remind me of you- and you wont even speak to me. I have no idea what has happened, but I cant continue to be miserable like this especially if you dont care. take care. I put everything neatly in a nice basket and went to his house. She was there. I went to put it on the front porch and he opened the door. I smiled, said hi, and he looks at the basket and looks at me with a stricken look on his face and asks "WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?!?" and I just said " my best to you and the horse." (i think she is ugly and horselike) and I walked off. I feel ok about it--- but why would he freak out like that when he hasnt even spoken to me?
--------------------
because he realized that he can no longer count on being able to hook up with you. he had a backup plan until then

WHlCH OF THE FOLLOWING EDIBLE CHRISTMAS GIFTS WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO RECEIVE...???

A.) A beautiful fruit, meat, and cheese basket B.) A box of See's Chocolates C.) Fresh, homemade Nestle Toll House Cookies D.) A tin of fancy mixed nuts E.) A sweet gingerbread house
--------------------
Well, we got A.) & this time, it is really good, high quality stuff. That's what I'd prefer, except my very favorite is the date-nut pinwheel cookies my wife makes for me. She makes them from a recipe she got from my mother - those cookies have always been my favorite. :)

Speaking of Manipulative Boyfriends...?

This quote was on a question that I looked at... >>>i was a manipulative bf at one point. it's wayyy more smooth than that and a lot less obvious and direct. you don't insult her. you build her up. you compliment her all the time. then she begins to depend on you for her feelings of self-worth. then you try to coerce her into giving sex, gifts, whatever.<<< The above quote seems to exactly define my problem with Brodie. He let me in close to build me up. He asked me to make him an Easter Basket...and it seems to have been a hoop to jump through. He let me believe he like my music until I got studio musicians involved and now he hasn't even heard my new demo. I told him he let me down. I said my self esteem was tied to his opinion of my music. It's been more than a week since I said that, but he still hasn't heard my song... And he wonders why I'm mad at him! So with all that...is he being manipulative? Is the quote dead on facts?
--------------------
Honey I'm not really answering your question here, but I have read some of your lyrics that you have posted on here and you cannot let your slef esteem be tied to his opinion of your music. You are a wonderful music artist and you will go far if you do everything you can and believe in yourself, dont let what he is doing get into your way. Who cares if he's being manipulative, I know it sucks but just look deep within yourself and know who you are and pull out all of your good qualities and remember exactly who you are and be that person.

Warning! Very long, but I need to know where I stand in all this? Am I behind, ahead, what do you think?

My wedding is in February of next year and this is what I have done. -Got all the vendors selected, except for the musician, which will be used through the church once we meet with the pastor next month. -I bought all the accessories for my dress, including garter. I got the guest pen, (and extra pen for the guest book if the other one goes out), all the centerpieces for all the tables including decorations and lights for the head table. -I got the flower girl petals and basket, and ring bearer pillow. -BM's selected their dresses and they are ordered. I already have my dress (in my parent's closet so Fiance can't sneak and look at it at our home.) -I got the cake cutting set, bubbles, engraved flutes, pew clips, white pew bows (that I don't like so I ordered purple ones online and I'm expecting them in the mail.) -I got the usher gifts, the BM gifts, and the parent's gifts. They are almost all wrapped, but I'm still trying to find small purple bows (our colors are violet and silver.) -We already selected the style of cake and bought all the cake decorations and finalized with the baker. -I got the favor boxes all picked and bought, I just gotta buy the hersheys kisses and have them done by me and the BM's (closer to the wedding date for freshness) -We already got our engagement photos done. -We did our tasting for the reception and selected our meal choice and signed the catering contract. -I got the aisle runner and I'm ordering white small umbrellas online for each person in the bridal party in case of rain/snow. -We looked at invitations at the place we know we are going to get them, and I kind of have an idea of what I want, we whittle the choices down to 10 designs we will browse through later. WHAT I DON'T HAVE DONE: -I got a head start on my emergency bridal kit, but I still need to buy more stuff. -I still don't know the time of the ceremony/reception since I still have to meet with the pastor next month. -I don't know what songs I want for the DJ...or what songs I want at the ceremony. -I want outdoor photos in the snow, but I haven't sent photos to the photographer yet that I want. -I am not clear on where we want the Rehearsal Dinner, or what we are going to get. I have some ideas though -We still haven't got tuxes, or the flower girl/ring bearer stuff, bc my fiance is dragging his feet not wanting to call his older bro to ask him to have the niece and nephew as flowergirl/ringbearer bc he doesn't know what to say, they haven't talked much in years and he lives super far away so it's awkward for him, they get along but they are kinda like strangers in a way. -I still don't have all the addresses/phone numbers for the guest list...waiting on fiance's mom to get all that stuff together. She said she would get it done a week ago but I realize it's 40 people she's gotta look up so I will be nice and give her time. -I don't have a spa picked out yet for my hair/makeup/nails. -I don't know when or how the ushers will roll out the aisle runner. -I still need to show the florist all my decorations, tuxes, flowergirl/ringbearer outfits so she knows what to do to match the flowers...this for sure has to be done by October. -I haven't done any weightloss/tanning stuff yet. -Haven't paid off all the vendors yet, but we are making payments. -I also still need to buy stuff to set up the icicle lights at the head table. -Still don't know what to do for an outline of the reception, as in, how to do the order of things, I'm thinking meal, then dance, then cake cutting. IDK? OKAY! SO what do you think? Am I behind, ahead, what do you think? I have 10 more months until the wedding. Thanks!
--------------------
You are way ahead of schedule. That is good thing to be because there is usually something that go wrong. Example is my wife got sick a couple days before and I was left with everything to do. It was nerves that got her and me. Transportation should be add. The bridal party has to get on place to another. I say the shorter the better between the ceremony and reception. If it is more traditional, ceremony at 2 and dinner at 6. This cuts down the amount people that are going to drunk by the time music starts.

you in the middle thats great some of the stuff like the ushers and stuff will probably be talked by with the pastor, play around with some makeup and hair stuff, tell your fiancee that he should just make the call if not then you'll have to find someone else to be the flower girl and ring bearer...you're very good 10 months so far is great

can i transfer into a diffrent highschool by joining on of there sports?

I have bent over backwards trying to get into this particular school but nothing works im gifted but they told me that i have to be highly gifted to get into there damn magnet program when i know that alot of my friends that are in it aren't even gifted!!! I want to transfer because the school im attending hasn't taught me anything and it doesn't have any sports except volleyball and basket ball [the schools new] and no magnet program but the school i want to attend is full any ways i can get in ? ps.can i try out for cheer leading at the school? even though i don't go there and if i get in can i get transfered?
--------------------
It depends on the county rules for sport participation for the county that your school is in. In my county to play on a team for a school you must attend that school. The only exception is for home-schooled students. For them it has to be the school their house is zoned for. Also if the school is full, then it is full. Teachers have class ratio's and the school can get in ALOT of trouble trying to have more students in a class then they are supposed to. If you are feeling academically stunted try AP or Joint Enrollment programs. Many colleges and H.S.'s have programs that allow you to take college courses and get college and H.S. credit at the same time. If there is no program, contact the college and your local school board to find out what it would take to start one.

--------------------
I don't know what a "yankee swap" means....so maybe instead of just saying it, maybe you should tell everyone what it means? Whatever the heck it is, what you propose sounds delightful and thoughtful. I don't see anything wrong with it....but again.......I don't know what the heck a yankee swap is suppose to be all about.

Adopt A Family Organization: Christmas ideas for family of four?

Hi, I'm a 16 year old High school student. I'm helping a family of four have a Christmas this year by supplying them with gifts. In the family there's a mother, father, 14 year old son, and 10 year old daughter. I also have to put together a food basket. So far, I have the 10 year old daughter covered. I've made a food basket list out, and a toiletries list I just need any ideas for the mother's, father's and son's gifts. Please keep price in mind, I am on a budget. Thank you :)
--------------------
14 yr old boys really only want expensive things. For the mother and father I would get them a gift certificate to a restaurant so they can have a night out. As for the 14 yr old maybe a movie pass so he can enjoy a day out with his friends. If you know any of his interests then make up a stocking of these interests. But I have a 15 yr old and he does not want anything that costs less then 70 easily.

I am desperately looking for the apple basket embossed platters, bowl, etc sold by cracker barrel.?

I had the whole set and it was a gift from my mother-in-law. I really loved it. I have been scouring the internet looking for it and have found nothing. I did find this on eBay, it looks very similar to what I am looking for. I had this platter, a nice rectangular bowl, and a soap dispenser. Anyone have any ideas? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290394492746&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
