Gift idea - going to the cabin?

I have very close friends who are heading to a secluded cabin for the weekend. I'd like to send a gift basket along with them. Does anyone have any ideas of what I might put in there? I have thought of junk food and magazines but any other ideas?
--------------------
--Flashlight (just in case) --Cheese and crackers or a s'mores kit (graham crackers, chocolate, marshmallows) --A wine bottle / 2 beer bottles / wine coolers (if they are over age) or snapples / cokes / sparkling waters (if underage) -- don't forget a bottle opener if necessary --A disposable camera, in case they want to remember the trip --if they are girls, how about those fuzzy slipper socks so they can relax in comfort Hope that helps!!

Ideas for gift basket?

I am not really sure what to get my step-mother for Christmas, so I had the idea to get a purse or a cute basket and fill it up with little neat things. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas of what to put in the basket? I already figured I would get some lotion & body spray, but I don't want to make a generic gift basket. What would you like to get if someone make you a gift basket?
--------------------
What does your step mother like? What are her hobbies? What are her favorite foods? Does she like salty or does she like sweets? Does she scrapbook, do photography, is she a Christian, does she collect anything, does she like wine, etc?? These are the sorts of questions to ask yourself about her and once you answer them, you'll know exactly what to put in a gift basket to her. The best thing to do is to find a container that fits with the theme and is reusable. Something other than just a basket or a box.

I am a new strat up company is it okay not to take credit crads?

Hi i am starting a gift basket company. In these hard times I do not feel safe taking credit cards. Is it okay to ask for only personal checks or money orders before i ship product out? With my company you get to choice every item for the baskets. I just put them together and ship them. The reason i am getting into this, is because i love to shop and to give gifts. Please let me know what you think.
--------------------
well, most people pay online with credit cards, so from a business standpoint that could definitely damage your sales, paying with a credit card is simple and easy (for most) and definitely the simplest method. hope that helps.

I volunteered to help with a charity but i think what they are asking of me is kinda weird... agree?

I volunteered to help with a charity at my job and we are raising money by auction off gift baskets.. they asked me to go around to various stores and restaurants and ask for donations (mainly gift cards or small items). Is this something restaurants normally do? I have a feelings im not going to have any luck and Im going to have to come back empty handed.. do restaurants really do this??
--------------------
I understand your reluctance to ask businesses to donate when you think the request might be considered inappropriate. This could reduce the effectiveness of your soliciting efforts. To counter this, I recommend that you *not* request donations from the 1st couple of places you visit. Instead, interview the owners or mgrs to discover why they consider giving gift cards to be good for business. Is it merely a matter of being good members of the community? Do donations bring in new business? How do they prefer to be contacted? If you explain that you are new at doing this, & are seeking information & advice, my guess is that you w/not only understand why business owners are supportive, but become much better & more comfortable w/your role as a volunteer. Tips: (1) Businesses that depend on repeat customers are the most likely to support your charity by donating. Try hair & nail salons, spas, tanning booth operators, car washes, chiropractors, lube stations, etc. (2) Look in the back of your Yellow Pages to see who is currently offering coupons. If a business is advertising for new customers, they are more likely to welcome your solicitations. Good luck & great gift baskets!

I want to start an on-line business selling a ton of different crafts, crafts for holidays and special occassions. gift baskets, crocheted baby and adult blankets, and homemade baked goods. Every item would be made to order and guarenteed fresh. But I don't know if anyone would be interested in purchasing these things on-line. Should I just sell crafts that I make and leave out the baked goods, or do both? I need to know if the idea would work. Please give me your feedback, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you

What is a good corporate gift to send clients without breaking the bank? I want a unique corporate gift idea?

I have 12 clients that I want to acknowledge with a gift but I don't want another wine & cheese basket. They are way to expensive and clients don't remember them because everyone else sends them. I want to spend $40 or under but not look cheap. I know, this is a tough one. Thanks cfl
--------------------
I agree about the wine and cheese type basket. Even though they are nice, companies receive so many that after the first couple arrive they forget who set them. Since you mentioned this is for clients, I assume you have competitors all looking to get your client's attention so it is important to stand out and make sure the client remembers the gift came from you. The best corporate holiday gift I have received was a really unique corporate gift idea. It was a very nice basket but it was loaded with very fancy Rice Krispies Treats. They tasted incredible but also looked fantastic. I still remember the company that sent it and now I send them to my clients and family. You can go online to The Crispery and see what you might like. People seem to love these things because they remind them of when they were kids. Oh yeah, the best part is they are very inexpensive but not cheap! You will definitely be able to stay within that $40 range. Best of Luck, Mike

Think of the person who gave you this present, Who thinks you're just wonderful and even quite pleasant!
