What would be a good gift to get the hostesses of my baby shower?

My mom and mother in-law are throwing me a baby shower. I know it takes a lot of work and with the size of my baby shower and the details involved, I know it is not going to be cheap. Not that it really matter as they would do anything- both of their first born grandson to be. Even though they are not expecting anything, I just wanted to get them something little special. Maybe like a picture frame with the baby's 3d ultrasound picture in it or a little basket of lotion, body wash and what nots?? I cant think of anything else really. Do you have any ideas?

flowers and wine. always works. if they're not drinkers, just flowers and that picture would be nice.

Is this a good gift for my boyfriend's parents?

I have been with my boyfriend about a year and his entire family is wonderful to me. They have opened their arms to me by inviting me to everything, including me in "family pictures," taking us out to dinner, and have opened their beach house to our disposal. They also got me a nice birthday present and took me out to dinner. Now Christmas is around the corner, and I would like to get his parents something nice. A few months ago, I was telling his mom about these nice towels I have from Restoration Hardware. They are so nice- thick and warm. She seemed very interested. I was considering getting two bath towels that match their bathroom, rolling them up and tying ribbons around them, and putting them in a basket. My question, however: is this a good present? Or are bathroom towels too personal? I mean it's not like I'm getting them robes or something creepy like that. I wanted to be different but thoughtful. Any feedback is appreciated. Also, while I'm open to suggestions, I'm not going to get them wine. It would be too predictable for them and they gave that to me as one of my birthday presents.
--------------------
towels are a nice gift maybe you could get them monogrammed with the his and her initials. ( lisa and mike smith the towel would have M S L) it is just a little more of a personal touch. also along with the ribbon maybe attach an ornament! maybe you could also get one of those family photos framed and give it to them

What is a cute gift idea for a new relationship?

I have just started dating someone and for Easter he is making me a huge dinner and desserts...yes that is plural. haha (because I gave up sweets for Lent.) He is very sappy and so am I, so I'd like to do something sweet for him because of all the nice things he does for me. What are some cute ideas that aren't too cheesy? Some ideas I've got to work with so far...he loves starbucks, fine wine, and University of KY! So one idea is to make him an easter basket with each of these things...help! :)
--------------------
Sounds like you got your idea, my only suggestion is to add a big goofy easter bunny tie a ribbon with a Coffee cup in one hand a wine glass in the other with a wine bottle and the bunny wearing a University of KY hat or shirt. That would be soo cute and goofy and he will love it.

Any Ideas everyone?!?

I need a last minute but GREAT gift for my "in-laws". they are absolutly excellent and do anything and everything for my boyfriend and our 2 girls and i. its so hard to figure out what they want b/c mom buys everything she needs, and doesnt and dad is the same way. they insist on getting nothing for xmas but come on.... i already have gotten a bunch of pictures of the girls taken to surprise them with...but totally drawing a blank. the best suggestion other than a sappy card, a gift card or fruit/meat basket will get you the points!! thanks and Merry Christmas or whatever you may celebrate! >WINKS<
--------------------
give them some wine...a gift card to where they like to eat...do they have a particular hobbie...or is there something they want to do. pay for them a trip to a nice hotel for a day or two. you could also give them something that represents a memory you have of them...

What can I buy my dad for fathers day? He doesn't like anything!?

I was thinking of buying him a fishing rod since he's been talking about wanting to go fishing. But I don't think he will like it. He will probably not be happy with it and tell me the next day or never use it since he wants 'simple' 'funny' gifts all of a sudden. Yet he doesn't like those kinds of gifts since he thinks there cheap which he now wants only because his friend at work talked about it. Sorry, that was a bit of a rant. It gets very stressful when it comes to buying him gifts. What should I buy? Buy him a fishing rod and just get it over with, hopefully he likes it. Buy him 'funny/fun for one day/hour cheap gifts' A fruit basket or a box of different kinds of nuts. which I know he will like. Any other ideas?
--------------------
In addition, or in place of any gift, make a list of the reasons why you appreciate him. Perhaps have it inscribed on a wall plague. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BVQP6GL-P… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RbqF6Xv1m… Please don't get a joke card. In my 20+ years of working with fathers, it has been rare that a joke card that makes fun of his abilities is really appreciated. I wrote this to "Dear Abby" for Father's Day, March 19, 2005. APPRECIATION FOR JOB WELL DONE IS WHAT FATHERS WANT TO HEAR DEAR ABBY: Today is Father's Day, so why don't we try to do more for dear old Dad than give him the usual greeting card that promotes the idea that all dads are imbeciles, followed by a collect call to see what he thought of the card. (Father's Day is the day when the most collect calls are made.) We should treat our fathers the way we treat our mothers on Mother's Day and show them we appreciate them for being there. Yes, you probably tell your father all the time that you love him, but the minds of men work differently. Anyone can say "I love you," but as men, knowing that we are appreciated for a job well done is what really gets us teary-eyed. Something else you can do -- especially you sons out there (but daughters can do it, too) -- is to make sure Dad has been to the doctor for a checkup, including depression screening. This can go a long way toward making sure he's here on Father's Day next year. I wasn't raised by my father, but by a stepfather. Although we did not see eye-to-eye on many things, I would not be the person I am today if it were not for him. This man, who spent years climbing on top of heavy construction equipment to prepare the ground for many of the homes, businesses, roads and highways of Southern California, now finds it difficult to get into a car. Although none of the houses or roads have his name on them, they are all testaments to his life and the lives of men like him. So today, let's do something extra for Dad, without him pulling out his wallet to pay for it. -- George McCasland, Overland Park, Kansas **************************************… Remember, there's a lot of us fathers sitting in nursing homes whose children live too far away to visit. Contact an activities director about volunteering Sunday morning. Read a list out loud about why you appreciated your father.

i need help with these 2 math problems..?

1: mrs. williamson shops at a store that has an annual memborship fee of $30. Today she paid her annual memborship and bought several fruit baskets costing $15 each as gifts for her co-workers. Her total was $105. Solve the equation 15b + 30 = 105 to find the # of fruit baskets Mrs. Williamson purchased. #2: A card game has 50 cards. After dealing 7 cards to each player, Alaina has 15 cards left over. Solve the equation 50 - 7p = 15 to find the # of players.
--------------------
#1) 15b + 30 = 105, therefore, b = (105 - 30)/15, or, b = 5. Therefore, number of baskets = 5. #2) 50 - 7p = 15, therefore, 7p = 50 - 15, or, 7p = 35, or, p = 5. Therefore, number of players = 5.

I work at a bar - what to get my boss?

He loves red lable - but he can obviously buy it for himself I got him 2 packs of black and mild cigs and a $50 gift cert to a store - it's between 7 employees (bartenders) .....do youo think this will suffice or should I put it in a basket with chocolate and put the cigs and gift cert in there or this too much?

Some specialty stores like Brookstone have a "Set of Bottle Tops" after you take away the cork... They are awesome and very good looking; they do the job and also is a perfect masculine decoration... Go on line or in person to any Brookstone and you'll see all kind of awesome gifts for men: A cigar box; a cigar tool with a nice lighter; a jewelry box with a special cigar's compartment; a wallet with digital pictures downloads; garden and wine tools; sports needs; etc... Remember: Stores like Brookstone have specialty items, things you would not find anywhere else... -(No, don't give him chocolates... When men want to eat some chocolate they buy it themselves and in small quantity, unless you want a sad face for him and a happy one for his woman... One of those things: Diamonds and Chocolate are the best girl's friend...)-

Please Help.. I asked my gf of 4 months if we were going to exchange gifts for Easter and..?

She said she is going to make me an Easter basket, which sounds nice. I told her I would make her one too. I'm 20 and she's 18. Should I make her a basket or get her something else? buying cosmetics for my mom?

for my mom's Christmas gift i want to get a little basket and put cosmetics in it. what are some cosmetic i could buy? and by cosmetics i mean make up, nail stuff, skin product, lotion, etc. if you could include the price and where to but it that would be great!
--------------------
You can get loads of stuff for around $20. The make up would be a personal thing because everyone has their preference on color, type, etc. Victoria's Secret, Bath and Body Works and most shops have toiletries already included in cute gift bags or baskets. Victoria's Secret has assorted perfumes in small vials for around $20 and she can wear a different fragrance every day.

Great gift for "boys" bass fishing trip in Canada?

My boyfriend, who is 28, is going on his annual boys bass fishing trip in Canada with his two best friends and I wanted to make a little basket of goodies for him for the trip. I'm already playing Susie Homemaker and made Rice Krispie treats (yeah, his favorite) for the ride, but I wanted to get him some fishing stuff. I was thinking baits/lures, etc. He has a 17" bass boat which they'll be on. My only real hang-up is I don't know much about the fishing in Canada where he'll be, but they're big bass fishermen, however, I know he's also caught Northern Pike and such up there. I think he's going to Eagle Lake, btw. I'm going for kick-a** gf of the year here. Ideas would be greatly appreciated!
--------------------
I live in Duluth Mn and have fished in Canada frequently. If your boyfriend is a hardcore Bass guy he will probably be targeting Smallmouth on this trip. They may also decide to go for some Walleye, (Walleye make a good shore-lunch for a hungry fisherman). Here are some ideas for lures and gifts that will work (or be needed) on their trip: 1. A nice Leatherman Multi-tool- Skip the basket and get him something he will have a long time! A multi-tool is a "booyah" gift for a boyfriend and highly functional- http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores… 2. Yamamoto, 5" Senko in "Smoke" color- 6-8 bags of these will come in REAL handy for a Smallmouth Bass trip in Canada- http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores… 3. Strike King, 3/16 OZ Spinnerbait, in "Bleeding White" color- 6-8 of these would be excellent for that "reaction strike" bite- http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores… 4. Heddon, Super Spook Jr, in "Okie Shad" color- Best Topwater of all time, (but with improvements!)- http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores… 5. Mepps, Black Fury 1/2 OZ in Yellow Dot color- Inline Spinners catch everything in Canada. Make sure to get 5-6 of these- http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores… You get him all of these and he'll sh*t his pants! (lol) Hope this helps? (Make sure to read the reviews of the products I suggested!) Good luck! PS- If making a basket make sure to include some good (deet) Mosquito repellent, a variety of flavors of potted mini-hotdogs, and some beef jerky.........(wink)!

Does this sound like a good gift?

My boyfriend of one year--his birthdays coming up on November 30th, and we're currently in a long distance relationship, so there's not much I could do. I was thinking of throughout the rest of October and November..everyday buying something small--either big or smallso by mid November I could put it in a large basket + ship it out to him. In it would include, a large basket of chocolate, tickets to his favorite footie (soccer) teams match, Swiss Army knife, letters..and a few other things..any ideas? Could be big or small. Also, I was thinking of calling one of the local cake shops in his area, making a delivery of a ton of cupcakes + having them delivered to his house on the day of his birthday, and paying for it via online. What else could I add to this, the items could be big or small, doesn't matter.
--------------------
A nice up to date photo of yourself would be a lovely gesture, I really like all your other ideas and I'm sure he is missing you as much as you are missing him. I feel like eating a cup cake right now.

Easter gift for crush?

There's this guy at church, and last Sunday he approaced me and we started a conversation. He was told me that he had wanted to talk to me for the longest time, and that I seemed like I had a "beautiful" soul, so on & so forth. I really like this guy, I have always been attracted to him and ever since he came up & talked to me, (the conversation was rather long, we talked about likes, dislikes, his music, my music, and he claimed he was just looking for the right person.) I get very nervous around guys, but since he approached me I was actually quite comfortable takling to him. I let him know right off that I was nervous, and that I had a tendency to say things that I probably shouldn't (rambling). We talked about past relationships so on & so forth. I got so excited that I made him an easter basket filled with candy. Do you think this is a good idea or is this maybe going to fast? ;/
--------------------
It depends on how old the two of you are. If your both teens it's a cute idea. If your older it's a bit silly, and some homemade goodies would be better: brownies, cupcakes, etc. 22 and 17 probably better to go with something homemade. Remember the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. Don't give it to him in front of everyone. Tell him you have something for him and have him follow you out to your car.
