One is a basket filled with teas, cocoas, mugs, candles, cider, scarfs, all things to keep you warm... Another will be chocolate items only...Help!

Wintery Hug, Warm Comforts, Winter Comforts, Chocolate Comforts (I seem to like the word comfort hehehe), Winter Chocolate Supply. Hopefully none of these are in current use, they were just off the top of my head. I'm not the best at this sort of thing, but it was fun to try! (EDIT: when I was writing this down, I hadn't seen the post above me, so good stuff on the comforts! It seems to be a popular choice! :D)

What things would be good things to put in gift baskets that are centered around local honey?
Other then a jar of honey
--------------------
A pamphlet informing the recipient about the loss of honeybees. Bit o' Honey candy bar. Natural products containing honey (lip balm, facial masks, etc.). A list of 'buzz'words; i.e., definitions of terms about bees/beekeeping that are not commonly known unless you are in the industry. Beeswax candles. Honeycomb. A brief history on beekeeping. Print on bright yellow paper. If the recipient is a gardener, some plant stakes with bees atop. Flower seeds to attract bees. Depending on the recipient's age, mead. A tankard to enjoy it with. Recipes that use honey if the recipient cooks. An explanation of why it's easier for our bodies to digest honey than refined sugars.

Ideas for very impressive 'sweets' I can put in gift baskets?
I'm not a pro at baking and definately not a pastry chef, so nothing extremely hard, but I have time to practice if a recipe is kind of hard. I'm going for taste and looks. Links to recipes with pics are great if you've made the recipe before; I like pics so I know how they will look in the end. Thanks!!

Can you give me ideas for gift baskets?
I would like to make them for the people on my list this year. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
--------------------
This is my specialty, I have made gift baskets for most ocasions arranging from Baby showers, get well soon, child birthdays, valentine's,mothers/fathers day, welcome home baskets for a platoon of US MARINES, and Christmas. KITCHEN -If you are doing a gift basket for adult female/or elderly female that enjoys cooking/baking, you could buy mittens, pot holders, dish towels, burner covers, maybe a set of mixing spoons, whisks,a timer, spatula, recipe book, or recipe cards, measuring cups, cookie cutters (depending on the size of the basket) you may be able to add a coffee cup, you could add, hot chocolate mixes, a bag of peppermint sticks, cookie mix, sprinkles (christmas theme-trees, snowmen), and even icing. Who wouldnt love this? All of these items can be bought at a dollar store (which is still in good quality but in lower cost). SCRAPBOOKING -If you are doing a basket for someone who is into photography and scrapbooking, you could get a scrapbook, designed cutting scissors, hole puncher, ribbon, stickers, pens, borders, extra paper for the scrapbook, some adhesive, embellishments, and maybe a scrapbooking book to give them ideas. (again things that you can buy at a dollar store). BATH -If you are making a basket for a female that is into fashion and personal care, that loves to be pampered or you think needs a little pampering you would want to make a bath gift set for then get a towel and roll it up, tie a ribbon around it into a bow, add bath salts, bath oils, anything for bath or skin that pertains to aroma (relaxing). You can add bath sponges and exfoliators, bath brush (great Idea) facial masks, and bath lotions. PERSONALIZED COLLECTIBLES -If the person you are making a basket for is a collector of sorts, maybe Angels, Snowmen, Gingerbread Men, Apples, etc. You can find their specialty on nearly anything. You could find them on dishtowels, jewelry, note pads, stationary, handcrafted porcelains, hand painted ornaments, a do it yourself kit with the ornaments and paint in their theme. That gives them something to do. CANDLES/SCENTS -Do they love candles, and always have a wonderful smelling home? They would adore an arrangement of candles, in different shapes and sizes and scents. A few candle holders, or plates, dried potpourri, a bottle of potpourri gel or liquid, even a small potpourri burner would be of taste for this basket. GARDENING -Even though it is winter do you know someone who loves planting and tending to flowers and greenery? They would love New gardening gloves, small gardening tools like a shovel, shears, etc. seed packets, gardening books and magazines. POPCORN/MOVIE - This is someone who is always renting DVD'S and would rather to curl up and watch this than go out to the theatre. Instead of a basket in this case, they would love a new large Popcorn bowl, Add several different kinds of Popcorn flavors, (butter, Cheddar, Caramel, ETC.) Add a few really good DVD'S, a box of tissues if they are emotional tear jerkers would be cute. Also, the candy that you get at the theatre in those square boxes, can be bought anywhere for less than a 1.00 these days, add sum Mike and Ike's, Milk Duds and Gummy Bears, then put your bag around this as you would a basket. BIRDHOUSES - They love bird watching and have a bird house. Get a hummingbird feader or birdhouse (small of course). For which ever you choose, get the appropraite feed, the sugar water or a small bag of bird seed, a book on bird care, you may also like to add some bird shaped stationary. FISHERMAN - Ok, maybe you are buying for someone who spends alot of time fishing. Then buy several different things out of that department (lures, hooks, worms, etc.), a plastic compartment to divide them, maybe a boning knife, fishing line, weights, a multi tool (kind of like a swiss army knife), a fishing magazing. SEWING -A smaller sized (travel sized) sewing box, thread, spools, straight pins, a pack of buttons, zippers, a ruler, scissors and cutting tools, needles, a lint brush or lint shaver, stain removal pens, pattern making supplies, maybe even a gift certificate to their favorite fabric store. CRAFT - Lots of Crafts. Different mini projects, glue sticks, glue gun, stencils, beads, paints, scissors, glitter, soap making, clay, etc. Magazines or books on craft ideas. FUN - Joke books, puzzle books, crosswords, Uno Cards, jigsaw puzzle, a funny dvd or movie, deck of cards, a few gag pranks ( like the baseball for the back window sticker), whoopie cushion, a shock pen, etc. TEA -Different flavored specialty teas, tea cups, a small teapot, either homemade cookies, or a few individual packs of cookies, different varieties of chocolate candies, a bag of sugar cubes, and a few lemons. COFFEE -A few coffee mugs, a couple bags of specialty groud coffees or gourmet coffees, creamer, a bag of sugar cubes, some sweetner packets, a bag of coffee stirers, top it off with some homemade cookies. CHILDREN -Stuffed animal as a center, hotwheels, or some toy you think they would enjoy. Coloring book, crayons, Activity book, reading book, education things (flash cards, etc. [depending on age]), and candy. These things could be put into a stocking instead of a basket as well. BREAKFAST - You wouldnt want to add sausages/meats and pershible items to these, due to the last minute stress for making them, the fact that those items could make the others soggy from moisture etc. So If you would like to make a basket for a couple or even a single person. You could buy a mug, or a couple, maybe a matching set. Buy medium size jars of jam, jelly, and perserves (DO A FEW DIFFEERNT VARIETIES) like strawberry perserves, grape jam, and apple jelly. Apple butter, mapple syrup and honey. Add a few varities of coffees and teas and bisquick or jiffy pancake mix. (all of these items can be found in the dollar section of most sotres, big lots, and other discount stores and dollar marts ) You could even buy a small pan for a 1.00 at the dollar store to add to the basket. FOR EXPECTING MOM - Are you making a christmas basket for someone who is expecting? You could make a special basket just for their pampering needs. This is probably something they wouldnt even get at their shower and they would enjoy it so. Include candles, anything relaxing like music cds and aroma therapy candles, pretty decorative bath soaps, bubble bath, maybe bedroom slippers, body sprays and lotions, cocoa butter or vitamin e cream (good for stretch marks), a loofah, bath brush or pretty sponge. INFANT OR NEWBORN - Are you making a christmas basket for a newborn baby or and Infant? If this is their first christmas you could buy a santa hat, bib, blanket or stuffed animal that says babys first christmas.Lotion, Powders, Body Wash, Shampoos, diaper rash cream, baby wipes, brush, clippers, bottles, bottle cleaner, onesies, booties, and a stuffed animal. YOUNG GIRL -Purse, scarf, mittens, earmuffs, nail polish, hair brush, hair ties, bows and ribbons, perfume, glitter, makeup, nail file, mirror, earrings, stickers, fancy pens, paper, journal, etc. COUPLE - A light blanket, pair of coffe mugs, hot cocoa mix, bag of marshmellows, a bag of pepermint sticks, a bag of hershey kisses, a few of their favorite candy bars, and a dvd for them to cuddle up and watch together. FOR SHUT INS OR ELDERLY -I've also found that baskets with everyday necessity type items and food are great for older people that don't really need any more knick-knacks. Make these as you would a care package, coffee, dried fruits, favorite fruit juice in a can, mints, candy, soap, socks, razor, shaving cream, cans of their favorite soups or food, mini loaves of breads or muffins, teas, soup mixes, noodle mixes, pasta, bag of their favorite chips. ICE CREAM SUNDAE - Maybe you are making a basket for a child that loves their ice cream, or even an adult that absolutely loves ice cream. Maybe brothers or sisters, etc. Get some ice cream bowls or sundae bowls, some spoons, and a scoop. Sprinkles, caramel, strawberry, chocolate, pineapple and cherry sauces, and almonds, of course any other toppings you think would be nice. Add a pack of nice cloth napkins. MEXICAN FIESTA -Do you know someone who loves mexican foods? Why not make them a Mexican fiesta basket? Find kitchen towels or mittens with chilli peppers on them.Include several bottles, jars, or envelopes of seasonings: chili powder, oregano, taco seasoning, paprika, garlic flakes or powder, fajita seasoning, cumin, dried chili peppers, jalapenos, hot sauce, etc. A Mexican cookbook, cd of Latin music, and dessert items are nice finishing touches.Add snack foods such as tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, black bean dip, cheese sauces, etc. Add a small bag of black beans, navy beans, pinto beans, or garbanzo beans. Add a small bag of rice. You can also include the makings for Margaritas: Tequila, Triple Sec, Margarita mix, glass rimming salt, drink umbrellas, and fresh limes or lemons.

How do gift baskets send?
I want to order a gift basket for my boyfriend for the Super Bowl, but he is in college and he cannot receive packages at his door, he only has a PO box. I was just curious if anyone knew what kind of packaging the basket would be sent in? Is the basket itself wrapped in cellophane, or does it somehow come in a box? I'm just trying to make sure it will make it through his school's mail room without being ruined.

Buy a fruit gift basket and make someone's day or week. A fresh fruit gift is a great way to send a healthy and thoughtful gift for any occasion or holiday. You'll learn how to choose and buy the perfect fruit gift basket online or in stores. 1.Determine if you'll buy a fruit gift basket locally yourself or if you'll buy it online. If you won't be seeing the person, it's easier to shop and buy it online for delivery. Either way, they'll love it. 2.Plan on your delivery date and time. Especially for holidays and special occasions, you'll want to make sure it gets there on time. Will they be home to receive it? Find out when it can be delivered to them. 3.Choose a price range for your budget and the occasion. You may have a better idea once you see what's available at different price ranges. For an important client or occasion, you may want to spend more. But a lower priced fruit gift basket is still a nice treat. 4.Personalize your fruit gift basket choice based on her favorite fruits. Does she love cherries or pears? Is she crazy about organic fruit? You can shop around to find the perfect collection of fruits or even consider a fruit-of-the-month club gift. 5.Pay attention to any food allergies. If it's an issue, be sure to read the contents of the gift basket for potential problems. 6.Decide on and choose a nice fruit gift basket. Check out the pictures to see that it has a beautiful presentation. Read the description and make sure it's filled with fruits that she'll love. 7.Buy the fruit gift basket with a credit card. Be sure to confirm your delivery information with the correct delivery date and address. Then wait for a happy thank you for the delicious treats! http://www.flowerstocn.com/Gifts/fruit-gift/

I am making gift baskets for the families on my list this year any ideas of what I can include?
So far I have a picture frame with our sons christmas pic, candy canes, and some type of homemade treat like muffins.. What else would be good and cheap to include?...I have 10 baskets to make! also, does anyone have a yummy muffin or bannana/pumpkin bread recipe?
--------------------
I always like to include chapstick at this time of year, everyone needs it-make sure to buy ones that don't look/smell girly for the boys/men in the family to use. Hot cocoa is always a hit as is tea or coffee. It goes well with cookies, muffins, etc.

Which company makes the best damn food gift baskets for the buck?
I hate the ones that are 75% stuffing and show. Then the food is just super small boxes of dried up crackers and processed cheese.

Instead of the typical cheese and cracker gift basket, what about a cookie gift basket or arrangement. Everyone loves cookies! Clever Cookie makes some really nice cookie arrangements and gift baskets, filled with cookies. You can also personalize them with a holiday message, or whatever you'd like. They have so many different arrangements to choose from, really cute ones. Take a look, hope this is helpful.

Do you need a license for selling gift baskets?
Ok well i wanted to start a buisness for selling gift baskets. i was jjust wondering if i need a license.. and where can i get 1????
--------------------
No, you would be considered a "sole proprietorship" in the law, and you don't have to do anything. If you wanted to get technical about it, you would have to register any trade name (I.E, Jan's Gift Baskets) you use with the secretary of state. BTW whoever says you need a license is completely wrong! I know this for a fact because I'm required to make sure any business owners are conforming to the law before I write them a loan.

What kind of interesting containers has your school used to make raffle gift baskets? I need some ideas!!?
I have to come up with 13 creative themes for the Ice cream social fund raiser this year. Each Pre School class(parents) will donate to the themed basket. Baskets can be very creative containers such as a wheel barrel and a "family garden" theme. Can anyone come up wiht some other ideas that I can present to the class teachers? Thank you for your help. DeAnna P.S. sorry i could not find the appropriate category. School fundraisers would of been perfect!!!

Is selling gift baskets a profitable business?
I do baskets for Mothers Day. I usually do well. I'm thinking that I might create a website and do newborn baskets. On the months that pacific holidays fall, I would cater to those holidays, like Valentines Day, Mothers Day. There are so many basket websites. Is everybody making money? Is it a profitable business venture?
--------------------
Yes, selling gift baskets is a profitable business. Profit Margin, as well as selling costs, are best known to you. Your own website, and tie up with a Courier company will certainly increase your reach, and help in enhancing your business. You will be required to promote your website. You gradually improve your business. You may start making use of "ebay" which is well known and is being promoted very well by the promoters. Act FAST, lot of other festivals like Rakhi, Bhia Duj, Diwali, & X-mass, etc are approaching FAST.

Where should I sell gift baskets and gifts in a jar? Should I try to sell at craft shows or somewhere else?
Do craft shows allow edible items or is it just for art? Any web sites would be a huge help.
--------------------
Craft shows, markets or online are a great way to get started. Check with specific craft shows or markets about whether they accept edible items. If you are serious about getting started as a business look for food regulations in your state regarding what standards you will need to meet to sell your food legally.

I want to start selling GIFT BASKETS to make extra cash? What are some good ways to buy products a low prices
in order to make a profit? What are your suggestions? Thanks in advance, Sincerely a stay at home mom : )

You don't need to buy in HUGE quantities. Just go to your local Sam's Club or Costco (or whatever is in your area) and buy the large packs of snacks. (i.e. Gardetto's, Sun Chips, Turtles chocolate truffles) Anything that is fairly nice looking and not too cheezy. We also got some more fancier things to dress up our baskets at the local World Market. Here's a secret: a wicker laundry basket only costs a few dollars and looks fancier than it sounds and no one has to know that it's a laundry basket. Also, shredded construction paper can dress up a boring basket.

What is the name of the material used to filled gift baskets?
I'm not talking about the shredded paper that comes in different colors. I'm talking more about the filler that looks like some type of light brown grass hay.
--------------------
It's called excelsior, a form of packing material.

I make gift baskets and sell them to coworkers and friends. How can I expand my sales base?
Any suggestions would be welcome. I also would like to start selling candles and would like some ideas for marketing them, and how can I use the internet to increase sales. Thanks.

How about talking to Builders. Realtors. Car Dealerships, Hotels that offer honeymoon packages, Travel Agency's, Plastic Surgeon's ( a re-cope ration basket), start a "welcome wagon" for new people that move to your area (get with the local chamber of commerce for new names) and get other companies involved with coupons for free stuff ie: free bread at the local bakery, free hair cut at the local barber shop, buy one get one free to local restaurants, etc., try the schools that might need a new fundraiser idea, see if local hospitals might want to sell your items in there gift shop, maybe try putting something on ebay, I racked my brain on this one, I hope you choose me as the best answer. Good Luck ! In the Spirit of Success, Dan

Looking to buy bulk pet products for gift baskets?
i have been looking into a pet gift basket business because the ones i have seen just done seem to be all that great, but in order to make some money i need to buy in bulk. I have been looking all over and can't find "bulk pet products" they want me to buy the individuals. (which of course would be expensive and i would make no money) Of course i need the individuals like the small bottles to put in the baskets NOT a large container of a certain product, then it can't be seperated. can anyone help?
