I need help on bridal shower gift basket ideas????

Her theme is across the world honey moon. I know everyone one is gonna be doing Hawaii or something like that. But I wanna be different. I'm thinking about doing London but idk what would be good gifts that would represent London. Do you have any ideas?
--------------------
If you want to be totally unique choose something that the couple enjoy doing together. So, for instance if they like tennis, and you pick London as your destination, combine the two. Give them a book on London that includes places to play tennis. Add a can of tennis balls, and visors. Insert a map of London, and highlight where Wimbledon is played. Add more, according to your budget. This way they get some new knowledge, and some items they can actually use. Think of other interests...music, gardening, cooking, etc. You may find additional ideas on the following page: http://www.bridal-shower-ideas-for-you.c…

baskets/boxes where to find?

I'm starting a gift basket business... does anyone know where I could find high quality boxes (thick,non-colapsable, almost like hat boxes) and nice baskets of a consistent design?
--------------------
Check your local library for directories of wholesalers and manufacturers. Get your business license and Tax ID before making the calls to give yourself credibility. Ask for catalogs and samples and volume pricing as well as financing terms and a meeting with a sales rep in your area.

edit: Thanks M: Some great ideas there and several things which I might not have considered. You have given us all much food for thought. I think you have it well covered. There is also: sponsorships of overseas family members/orphans and sending letters of support, campaign letters to those in positions of authority via AI plus other orgs, etc. Support of Palestinian medical charities. Not throwing away any unwanted or even old item but donating it to some charity or someone in need. Charity in the home/extended family re: family care and support. can a sole proprietorship have two business owners?

My friend and I are wanting to start a small business where we are selling gift baskets, novelties and things like that. Can we both be owners of a sole proprietorship business? I was not planning to start a business as LLC and that's what it looks like I may have to do. Any advice would help. We live in Oklahoma if that helps. Thanks.
--------------------
No. A sole proprietorship can only have one owner. A business with two or more owners would need to be a partnership. It doesn't need to be an LLC. You should have a partnership agreement.

Making a gift basket for my dad...?

I'm making my dad a gift basket for his birthday, but I don't know what all to put in it! He likes the regular dad stuff, like, sports, food, building things, cars, etc... So what should I put in his basket?? THANKS!
--------------------
That sounds like a great idea :) I'm sure your dad will love it :) You could bake him his favorite cookies, get a DVD of sports bloopers, throw in some inexpensive tools like screw driver or socket sets (men are always losing pieces to these!) or go to an auto parts store and buy him some cool things for his car :) Good luck!

Making a "Break up and Break free" gift basket/kit for one of my best friends...what should I include in it?

She has a loser boyfriend that's destroyed her self esteem. I've been encouraging her to break free but she just needs some guidance. I decided to make her a "break up and break free" kit/gift basket for positive encouragement. I've thought to include a few good books (any recommendations? books on female self-empowerment/independence, books on breaking up, books on losing the loser?), and also little pick-me-ups like a new little bottle of perfume and such. Any other ideas? What would you include if you were making someone this "kit"? Thanks for any suggestions!

Christmas gift ideas?

I need some suggestions for Christmas gifts.I have a large family I need many gifts but little to no cash this year. I was thinking of making or getting the children involved making crafts or some sort of gift baskets. I need gifts for Moms, dads, brothers and in laws. any ideas?
--------------------
Homeade is the way to go! Have fun with your kids and let them help you out. How about a day of baking and make all kinds of cookies/fudge etc. You can wrap those up, and give them to everyone. My grandma does that for all of her kids/grandkids. She makes all kinds of things, puts them on a Christmas plate and ta-da. I love getting her homeade goodies. She also throws in like a Christmas hand towel or some candles. For a guy you could always throw in like an air freshner for the car, or something to wash the car with, what guy doesn't like stuff like that?

want a free gift from my business i need a - - experienced legal person?

I have started a business ias a sole trader, someone else put half the money up, but hasnt declared it. When i do my accounting i am going to have her lot of money going into no where, & no proof for the tax man, I would be very grateful if someone could help me out by giving me a few hints & tips on preparing a loan agreement, or even doing one for me. I would have to put in that she needs 50% of the takings from now until foreseable future. so i have got something to show the tax man when he asks where the 50% is going????? A bit cheeky I know but if you do me one Ill send you a free gift basket!!!
--------------------
This is a tricky situation. Normally if one person contributes capital to a business they are considered a partner. Therefore you would no-longer be a sole trader, but rather one partner in a partnership. Even if the other person has no involvement in the management of the business, they can still be considered a silent partner. Be very careful with this. A partner can incur debts on behalf of the whole partnership - and this means you. In terms of tax, I would suggest that you prepare a partnership agreement. A pro forma partnership agreement should be available in any good commercial precedent book found in a law library. Alternatively, like you suggested, you could construct some sort of loan agreement explaining that the capital provided by this other person was a loan which is being paid back, but they have no equity in the business. Either way this scenario creates complex tax problems and you should see a tax professional - but definitely try to get some sort of agreement in writing.

Gift basket ideas?

I've been racking my brain trying to think of a great gift basket idea for my next store neighbor. It will be a Christmas/Thank you gift as they have helped my family out so much this year. I am not very crafty by the way.i would like to spend around $40-50. Any suggestions?
--------------------
Get them household items. Like the person above said, get them soap, candles, kitchen towels etc....I'd spend that 40 or 50 dollars at the dollar tree. That way you could get them 40 or 50 things including the basket lol. Make it look good so you cant tell the its from the dollar tree. Also buy Christmas flowers from there and fake vines and decorate the handle of the basket with it.

Monogramming a gift for a boyfriend :)?

My boyfrienda and I have been together for about a year and with Christmas coming up I was wtryingto figure out a thoughtful gift that he would actually use. I've already done picture frames and gift baskets so I decided on making one of those no sew fleece blankets for him with the fleece being in the print of his favorite football team. I decided to make it even more memorable I wanted to take the underside to someone and have it monogrammed with something... I just dont know what to say though!! And I'm a broke college student so it can't have more thana few words... I know I want it to say my name and his name... Maybe a heart or a date or something as well?? Can they monogram hearts? What do ya'll think I should get put- I know its personal, but I'd appreciiate ideas? Also, where is the cheapest place I could get it done- would Walmart maybe do it? Thanks! <3
--------------------
How about X-mas 2006 and your names under it? I don't know whether or not Wal-mart does monograms.

Company party gift exchange. I need ideas for a gift?

It's the type of exchange where everyone brings a gift and they put them all out on the table and then everyone gets to pick one. $20 limit. Has to be for adult men and women. I've ruled out a gift basket, alcohol, and gift cards. Those are too common and I really wanted something original. Thanks! =]

Need help with finding the perfect bridal shower gift?

Like a gift basket or tinket/
--------------------
I like the gift basket idea. Most bridal shower gifts go off the registry so maybe to make it practical and personal include something from there and make it a theme. For example, if the registered for camping equipment, include one or some of the smaller items then like smores stuff, sunscreen, bug spray, other camping items. If she likes to bake and registered for bakewear get her the bakeware, maybe some either home made or boxed recipes and place them in their with other baking supplies, et. (sugestion, if you are using "boxed mix" place it in a nice jar, if possible seal it, make some neat little labels on your computer and dress it up with ribbon and the directions included. Or if you have some recipe suggestions you can make your own mix and include directions. If she registered for a coffee maker, you can get that and maybe some gourmet coffees and teas and such in a basket. (Or make it a joint gift, have someone else get the coffee maker and you do the gourmet coffee thing.) The garden suggestion was also cool, just make sure she is going to have her own house if you are giving her things to start a garden as most rented places do not allow for it. If you want to make your gift practical AND memorable, get her something practical from her list and just dress it up with additional things, which is why I suggested something off the registry since she knows what she wants better than anyone. Another suggestion, if she is NOT having a wishing well you can get her a bunch of practical kitchen items she will need like can openers, spatulas, potholders et. et. et. and make a little basket out of that. Those things are very helpful, I got them all from my wishing well but they were nice to recieve as gifts. I hope that helps, just a suggestion, steer away from trinkets as sadly they get trashed or go unused most of the time. I got literally over 70 picture frames and candle holders and there were only so many I could use in my house, the rest are in storage. Hope this helps, happy hunting.
