Im going to put together a giftbasket for valentines day for my boyfriend, i have some ideas what to put in it, but any ideas? Please HELP! :)
--------------------
OK very cheesy but I did it for my guy at the time and he was 27 and absolutely loved it. I went to Wal-Mart and bought a cheap valentine scrap book kit with lots of stickers and little love trinkets ($4.00), in the craft section there are little wooden boxes with cute little buckles to close it ($2.00 or less), then I got glitter glue pens to decorate the box ($4.00). I decorated the box with the pens ( I wrote our initials on the top and a heart with a arrow through it) then cut little pieces of paper with messages about the things we have shared and cute messages about the things I love about him etc, and sealed each one with the stickers from the scrap book. I wrapped it in a little box, then got a bigger box and wrapped it in there then I took a big box and filled it with tissue paper that was sprayed with the perfume he loves the best on me then wrapped it! I think it's just enough of what you need, not expensive at all and very thoughtful. I hope I gave you a good idea.... you can always add this gift with something else if you want to give more. There's not even a card necessary for this gift!

does anybody owns a home based online gift basket business? how did you start out and how is it now?
do you have a businss license and do you buy from a whole saler or local stores. thanks advance!
--------------------
I have an acquaintance who owned such a business. It did okay but not what she wanted. After two or three years she sold it. I think it would have succeeded if she would have given it more time. I believe she got most of her product from wholesalers. She had a lot of packaging and products specially made for her company. No business license is required here in Nebr. You should speak with an attorney and an accountant before starting any type of business to make sure you are complying with all rules and aren't paying to much in taxes.

What do you put in a Wedding Gift Basket?
I have a wedding to go to this weekend. I am making a basket but i can't think of anything creative to put in it. I don't want to put any personal stuff in there. I already have wine, glasses, candles, and picture frames. I want something Different and Unique in it. Any idea's? I don't want to spend more then $25 more on it. So something simple too!
--------------------
some nice cheese and gourmet crackers to go with the wine, a beautiful or unusual cork screw or bottle stopper, a great cheese slicer or cheese board set. you could add in some walker's scotish shortbread or other gourmet type boxed or packaged cookies too. this is a great idea for a take along on the honeymoon type of gift or for the day they move into the new house or apartment and need to take a romantic break for a snack or pick me up.

You have been given lots of great answers here. So I am going to give you a list of easy foods to put together when it is time to cook. How about printing it out and add it to the other items in your gift basket: New products make cooking easy now days. I have tried many of the following and they are delicious. . 1. Sealed packages of PRE-COOKED beef tips, roast, pot roast, pork roast, chicken, baked ham, pork chops, meatloaf, and etc. You will find these packages in the cold section, they are not frozen. Ask a clerk for help in finding them. Use this for your meat dish with a side dish or two of vegetables, rice, or potatoes which can all be found on shelves in packages or boxes, or in the freezer section, or canned. . You can now buy packaged rice that you pop into the microwave. OR bags of rice that you put into boiling water (package and all). The chicken flavor is delicious. Ask a clerk where to find them on the shelves. . Packages of dried REAL potatoes that you add milk, butter, water to; they are found on the shelves. Read directions. Delicious. . Gravies in jars. (always read directions) . 2. Supermarket deli's have roasted chickens, fried chickens, roast beef, and side dishes. You can stop in on the way home and grab a quick dinner to take home. No cooking. . 3. Crock Pot Cooking (also known as Slow Cooking). Put the food into the crock pot in the morning, set on low heat, and dinner will be ready in the evening. Go here for over 1,000 recipes for you: http://www.cooks.com/rec/search?q=crock+ (Crock Pots can be bought at grocery stores and department stores.) . Low es go to this website for easy recipes...a category is on the left hand side of the screen: http://www.cooks.com/rec/view/0,1740,151 . 5. No need to "bake". There are many pies and cakes that are precooked. You can find them in the freezer section at your grocery store. Ask a clerk to help you find them. Be sure to read the directions before you buy. The stores bake shop has cakes and pie too. These are made daily and are not frozen. . 6. The frozen dinners are now delicious. You find these in the freezer section at the grocery store. What are things that are uniquely Californian that I could put in a gift basket?
I'm from California and have lived here all of my life, but for some reason I can't think of anything good. I have a German exchange student coming to visit and I want to make her a basket with things that are native or unique to California. You don't have to be from California to have great ideas either! So please, all ideas are welcome! Thanks so much!
--------------------
Hmmmm, I've lived in California my whole life too, most things here were brought here so nothing is truly uniquely Californian. Oh, get one of those vials of gold (history) (usually cost a couple bucks,) some raisins(most come from here), any dried or fresh fruit (agriculture.) A beach towel (stereotypical culture.) A map to show how little of California is actually beach. Chocolate (lots of it made here,) and I can't think of much more, I'd say wine, but you said this was an exchange student. Good luck

Without knowing the age, it's quite difficult to make assumptions. Generally, I'd put books (title depends on what age) dvd movies (again the list goes depending on the age) shirts goodies & treats, snacks

What to put in a wedding gift basket?
I am attending a wedding this weekend. The couple registered for a couple of Longaberger baskets, I sell them so I got a basket for them at a discount. I want to put something in the basket but I am at a loss for what to put in it. The problem is, they are not the normal couple. They are a bit..odd..different than most. I am not sure if a "Honeymoon" basket with wine and candles, things like that would be right for them. Any suggesstions on what I can put in this basket?
--------------------
What are they into? For instance: If they're into movies, then put some movie rental gift certificates and gourmet snacks. Or. If they're in to wine, then include a nice bottle and some wine wafers. If you don't know, then go with something usable like rolled up kitchen towels or fancy guest towels for the bathroom. I hope this helps...

What are the best things to put in a gift basket for expecting mothers?
Ideas so far are books (such as What to Expect When You're Expecting) and a foot massager.
--------------------
Lotions & Bubble baths are good. I would also throw in maybe one of those Tide stain remover pens - they work wonders for spit up and other various spills, lol. Educational books are good too, but I would throw in a funny one - like Belly Laughs by Jenny Macarthy (spelling?), which is pretty humorous for a nervous pregnant woman. Also, maybe some homemade coupons for various things, such as a free night of babysitting or a free homecooked meal. Well, I hope I helped! :)

What is a good gift to give someone who has invited you to join them on vacation?
My best friend from college invited me on an all-expense paid vacation with her family to Palm Beach, FL. I want to get them a gift and/or make them a gift basket. Any good ideas?
--------------------
maybe one night, maybe the first night there, treat everyone to dinner. or, because you said it was all paid for already, sunblock helps. but really. if she has a little brother, maybe he wants a boogie board. a sister might want a snorkel. the parents might want some tropical looking glasses for some iced tea by the pool. all these things you can get like, at a wal mart. by personalizing the gifts, you add a little extra care and thought.

what is a good idea for a gift basket to raffle?
i have to make a gift basket with some sort of theme.. any ideas?
--------------------
OOoooh, pick me, pick me, I love gift baskets and am a sucker for them at raffles! Here are some I've really liked, that appeal to kind of general interests: Spa gift basket, with some nice spa products (body scrubs, fizzy bath bombs, loofa and fancy wash clothes/towels) and a gift certificate for a locally popular day spa. Coffee gift basket, with a couple of pounds of specialty beans, some nifty coffee cups, a couple of packages of special cookies (Godiva or some such), a book about coffee and a Starbuck's gift basket. Tea gift basket, with specialty teas, a cute tea pot and a couple of tea cups, and some special cookies, and a gift certificate for a coffee-and-tea shop. Wine lover's gift basket, with a bottle of nice wine, a couple of stemware glasses, and a gift certificate for a local wine shop. Barbecue gift basket, with some boutique barbecue sauces, a pair of tongs and a fork, a cute apron with a barbecue slogan on it, and a gift certificate for a mail-order beef specialty vendor. Some more specialized gift baskets: an artist's gift basket, with a really cool set of watercolor paints in tubes, some brushes, a package of artist's charcoal, colored pencils, a nice sketch pad, and a portable easel. A train lover's gift basket, with an Amtrak gift certificate, a book about trains, an engineer's hat and a train whistle that really sounds like a train when you blow into it, and a small toy train. Cat lover's basket, with a six months' supply of cat flea stuff (Advantage, little tubes of stuff you put on their necks), some packets of catnip and toys, a few cans of fancy cat food and a cute glass cat. My gosh, I would love to make up gift baskets. Just think about something you think is neat-- books, music, an animal, a specialty food or drink item, a sport or hobby, a special interest-- and put it together! Nicely packed and wrapped in clear colored paper, tied up with ribbons, who can resist?

What is a good way to market my gift store?
I have a gift basket and gift store but no traffic, I don't know if it's my site appearance as well but I need help. I know the market is saturated and hard times are here but I still am trying. www.basketnation.net
--------------------
You already know the problem. Market saturation. If I made a list of the several hundred calls I received in 2007 for SEO work, gift baskets would appear probably 30 times! (Personalized products were probably the only one with more - another hyper saturated market.) I recommend you re-invent your business. Do something amazing and remarkable. Make something irresistible. Yep, it's hard - that's what makes it valuable. I get a lot of my ideas from "The Dip" - a book by Seth Godin that I highly recommend (linked below.) I say these things because I want everyone to be successful.. not just cope. Life is too short. Have you heard the send-a-ball story? Linked below. I wish you 100% success.

Any ideas for a big sister gift basket?
We have a 7 year old daughter and are expecting another girl in June. I wanted to have a balloon boquet with a gift basket sent to our 7 year old when her sister is born. I have a big sister charm for her bracelet and I am going to order a big sister t-shirt, but I thought I should add some other things as well. Maybe some things that aren't related to the baby. Any ideas?
--------------------
This such a wonderful idea! I LOVE it! The one thing that came to my mind to add would be get her something that she can do with you and her father, maybe seperately so that she can some alon time with each of you to know that she alone is still very important. MAybe tickets to the circus, or the zoo, or a concert. Maybe an art class for parents and children. Something to have her parents to herself for abit because I'm sure alot of focus will be on the new addition and this will put some on her aswell. Congrats on the new liitle one and again this is a GREAT idea!

What are some good things to include in a maternity leave gift basket?
I know she loves old movies so I'm going to burn some DVDs and make cute home-made cases: Katherine Hepburn collection, Judi Dench, etc. I'm also thinking of making a CD of Beatles songs turn into lullabies for the baby. What else would be fun to include?

Since you are making homemade goodies (I love that ideas...such a personal gift) I would suggest making (or buying of course if you rather) *Foot Soak for aching, swollen feet...add a pair of soft, lotion socks *Favorite scent Body Scrub/Body Lotion *Coupon book for homemade meals (I loved when people came over with food after our son was born) *What is her favorite movie snack..popcorn, cookies, nuts? Wrap them up with ribbons and such. *A hand held muscle massager http://www.essortment.com/all/homemadeba

What is some good cheap things to put in a housewarming gift basket?
It's for my mom. She finally got out of a bad relationship and bought a new house of her own (in Sarasota, FL). It is not her first home. Any ideas appreciated! Thanks!
--------------------
Since it isn't her first home, maybe some things she wouldn't think to buy for herself. There are some great new wine bottle openers (I just saw a really cool one at Big Lots for $10 and a bottle of her favorite wine with a set of the $5 wine glasses also at Big Lots, along with their $2 set of wine charms all in the $3 ice bucket used like a basket and wrapped in the $1.99 cellophane with a ribbon tied at the top.) You could add a set of those soapstone coasters which actually absorb the condensation from glasses placed on it. You could get her a set of good grips kitchen tools from oxo which includes the can opener, the rubber mits you can plunge into water or remove hot items from the oven, the potato peeler, the grater, the juicer, etc. Or go with a baking theme using a silpat, the new rubberized cake, bunt, muffin tins and mits by kitchenaid. Or go with the laundry theme with stain removers, sizing or starch, some of the wonderful linen sprays, borax, and natural detergent and fabric softeners. I received a set of really cute door mats as a housewarming gift, with an outdoor thermometer, watering can and some gardening tools that I still appreciate today.

Where can I go, in the Inland Empire (CA), to buy a gift basket with good cheese?
I would like to buy my cheese-loving friend a gift basket. Any suggestions of where I could look, locally (Inland Empire, CA)?
--------------------
As for buying a basket pre-made, I believe you are out of luck. To do it right you will need to create it yourself. Go to trader Joe's, sprouts or even a Mother's market and get some cheese. Where to go depends on wheer in the Inland Empire you are. If close to Claremont you also may want to try Wolfes on Foothill. Get about 3-5 differing types, ask questions at the locations and add some funky type of bread or crackers. Making it yourself will be more fun and will also allow you to try some of them a well.

The most requested out of my gift baskets: Take 2 ritz crackers and peanutbutter and make a sandwich. Melt chocolate in a double boiler or microwave and dip the sandwich in it. Put in freezer to set. Just to let you know how popular these are with friends and family, I'm making 26 dozen this holiday!

Birthday gift basket theme ideas for my mom?
I am thinking about making a themed gift basket for my mom for her birthday and the only two ideas I have came up with are a pamper yourself basket or a movie night basket. I have some ideas of what to put into each, but just looking for other ideas from you guys on what could go into each basket and also what other basket ideas do you have or have personally done or recieved! Thanks so much

I just did a movie basket for my cousin. I put in about 3 dvd's. A bowl that said popcorn... 3 bags of popcorn, 3 movie sized treats, 3 of her favorite drinks. I had a bunch of stuff in there all geared to relaxing at home and watching a movie, she really loved it.

How to make a Christmas Gift Basket?
So I want to make homemade christmas baskets this year for people I loooooove. What can I put in there to have it visually attracting, yet awesome and punk? haha Not like candy canes or stuff like that. But nick nacks and stuff? Christmas crafts? HELP!

Why not have a wonderful little surprise in store for them by decorating the basket first all chrissmassy and stuff and then surprising them with little nick knacks and Christmas related items inside for them to enjoy. For instance...you could base the basket off of something they are absolutely in love with. Instead of candy canes, give them (insert interest here)!! :) I suggest searching numerous websites for other gift basket ideas, and how to organize such things. CLUTTERING IS GOOD the more the better for them to enjoy!
