I'm from California and have lived here all of my life, but for some reason I can't think of anything good. I have a German exchange student coming to visit and I want to make her a basket with things that are native or unique to California. You don't have to be from California to have great ideas either! So please, all ideas are welcome! Thanks so much!

Hmmmm, I've lived in California my whole life too, most things here were brought here so nothing is truly uniquely Californian. Oh, get one of those vials of gold (history) (usually cost a couple bucks,) some raisins(most come from here), any dried or fresh fruit (agriculture.) A beach towel (stereotypical culture.) A map to show how little of California is actually beach. Chocolate (lots of it made here,) and I can't think of much more, I'd say wine, but you said this was an exchange student. Good luck
