Still suffering from BABY BRAIN?!? Baby Shower gift for BFF!!?

My bff had a beautiful baby boy this weekend, and her baby shower is scheduled for next Sunday. They literally have NOTHING as they did not want to buy a bunch of stuff and then have a shower. They had no idea on sex of baby so they bought a few "generic" outfits..(lol, which totally dont fit as baby was only 6.12) I am doing her up a big laundry basket filled with all sorts of little things but I dont know what else to add....I NEED SOME HELP PLEASE!!! What were some of the little things that you needed with a newborn? I so far have the following, but what else can I add? ~ Travel Bath/Change Pad ~ Hand Sanatizer (she is a serious germa-phob... :-) ~ Baby Lotion ~ Bottle Drying Rack (she is BF but will be pumping as well later) ~ Medicine Soother ~ Gripe Water ~ Baby Tylenol ~ A couple "preemie/1 month" outfits ~ Ice cube tray for freezing breastmilk ~ Face cloths I will also be putting in some mommy stuff...any sug for that as well? T/Y for the answers!!!
--------------------
Socks, Washcloths, bibs, onezies (they are gold) baby wipes, diapers (different sizes from 0 to 3) blankets, diaper bag, sleep sacs (they tightly wrap the baby which comforts them) a tub temp gauge (baby r us sells them and they are duckies that tell you if the water is to hot or cold.) For the mom Stuff for her to relax. candles, bubble bath, books, and one thing you can do to help is go there and help. Go and take care of the baby so she can sleep. HEAT WRAPS she might get cramps, or her boobs might hurt or something that a heat wrap might help. A wrap pillow that helps hold the baby up while nursing, Nursing gowns and shirts, and bras. I plan to nurse and the gowns, bras, and shirts are a lil prices so even buying one for her will be nice. (the shirt looks great so you can feed the kid in public with out being to exposed. GL also the basket is cute but you can also go and get wicker baskets to help sort the babies stuff. ALSO CHECK OUT DOLLAR STORE. They have a lot of things that can be used for cheap. Walmart and target has baby kits that have the nail clippers and stuff to take care of the babies hygien.

Truckers, if you were getting a gift what would you want?

My fiance is a trucker. He usually has to stay out a few nights a week. Usually two nights home, two gone. I want to put together a Christmas goody basket for him. I know I'm getting him a new trucker atlas, but otherwise I'm stumped. Which one is best? I'm hoping for one around 20-25 dollars. (A link on that would be great.) I'm looking for ideas like snacks that stay fresh for a while, magazines, etc. I would like to get him a tv but thats out of the budget right now. Since he doesn't have one, he needs something to do to pass the time when he's in the sleeper. What about when he has to go to a truck stop to shower? What would be nice to have then?
--------------------
A new atlas will cost about $30 but worth the money. I personally like Rand McNally. You can go to any truck stop and pick one up. If he does not have a fifth wheel puller get him it will make life easier and it will not hurt his back as easy, it cost about $10 or $25. For the snacks get some thing easy to eat while driving. Like grapes, apples, dried fruits, and maybe some vegetables. That is the kind of on the go foods that I eat while on the road. Get some books on CD or tape what ever the truck has he will enjoy that and will pass the time while driving. You can go to the library and get those and you have several days to return them. For the sleeper get him a hand held game like poker. Maybe a good book or two that would he like to read. A small bag to carry all of his cloths and shower thing in. I don't know if he would use body wash but if he does it is a lot better than the soap the truck stops have. I hope that this will help you in making your decisions.

Do I have to bring a gift to the Bachelorette party?

Im going this friday.... No stripper, no going out to the clubs or bar.. This is her second marriage, so she doest want any of that stuff.. Its just going to be a small dinner at her aunts house! She is still young too. She is not having a wedding shower. I don't know if i by something for her and her husband like for the honey moon or.. what? Last Bachelorette party was for my best friend .. we made a naughty basket for her and her husband.. like oils, massager, candles, a CD.. do i do something like that again?
--------------------
A gift isn't required, but of course it's always appreciated. :) I think the naughty basket is a great idea, or even just a pair of cute "sexy little bride" undies.

I miss my neighbor's cat....?

The little fellow used to stop by every morning for a nice hot cuppa freshly brewed Starbuck's coffee and I'll tell you, we had some very in depth conversations. He never managed to finish his coffee and, thinking perhaps he didn't care for the rich brew, I switched to a less costly, store brand. After that first cup, he hasn't returned. Do you think I insulted him? Would a nice gift basket by way of an apology be an appropriate gesture? I really miss the camaraderie. There is a nice Dachshund down the street but he's rather opinionated so I don't know if I'd get along with him as well as I do the cat. Any advice?
--------------------
Did you, or did you not, originally serve the kitty's coffee in a saucer decorated with kitties and pussy-willows? And did you, or did you not, on the day you served kitty the off-brand coffee, serve it in a saucer decorated with Sights of the St Louis Fair of the early 1900s? I put it to you that your feline friend has hit the road to try and meet Esther and Tootie and their family's cat, humming a chorus of "Meet Me in St. Louis, Louie". I suggest you grab the nearest trolley and clang-clang-clang yourself out that way, bearing a can of tuna and some fresh-roast, to offset feline disillusionment.

What movie should I buy?

I want to buy a movie as part of a birthday gift basket for my hubby. He loves Jack Black, Will Ferrell type movies. We have a lot of them, but haven't seen any for about two years. Please give me some ideas on what movies to get. Comedy Please.

Baby Oil vs. Lotion for eczema?

Ok my baby's dr. told me that you are not suppost to use "baby" lotion anymore (like the kind that comes in the pink bottles) she said just use regular lotion that is mild or for sesitive skin nothing with fragrences or stuff like that. I have been using vaseline lotion so far, because my son has eczema on his face and knees and craddle cap on his head and eyebrows (i know it's odd, but he was born with craddle cap on his eyebrows only then is started under his hair on his head). Well my friend gave me some baby lotion as part of a gift basket and i was wondering if i should use that after his baths and the other lotion other times? Does anyone else use baby oil on there baby? what are your experiences. I recently bought Gentle Naturals disney baby baby eczema cream and that has really helped the rash on his cheeks. Should i stick with that? I am not sure what do you all recommend? Oh the "baby" lotion has that same stuff in it that is in plastic bottles they dont recommend using anymore the "bpa" stuff. At least thats how the dr. explained it only she use the technical name but i cant remember it i just it as bpa. oh and my baby is 6 weeks old (born on christas eve)
--------------------
Ryan has pretty bad eczema, depending on the day. We were originally using Johnsons Baby Lotion as a newborn but it just made it worse and my doc also told me not to use that stuff.. We are now using the vaseline lotion as well, it keeps him mostuirized. I have been thinking about trying that Disney cream you are refering too! I would just stick with that if its working, its hard to find a product that works.. Also I would not use the johnson lotion, it could cause a serious breakout on your baby!!

My friend has a huge crush on my mother! What should I do?

My best friend has this huge crush on my mother! My mom does not know it of course! He likes to come over everyday and help her around the house, says sweet things to my mom, He even brought a gift basket for her one time. But here is the thing! My friend is 13! And my mom is married to my dad. I try talking to him! I even try telling him to date one of the girls from our class. But he don't like any of them. He just likes my mom! Is this normal? What should I do? He always say he loves my mom and wants to go out with her!
--------------------
This is not at all unusual and happens more often than you would think. Don't worry about it, he'll get tired of this game and move on. Guess what? Your mom knows and is handling it her way. But if it is bothering you, tell him he can no longer come over to your house. You might loose his friendship, but he will be forced to move on with his life.

handmade bridesmaid to bride coupon ideas...?

I asked a question earlier about gift basket ideas for my newly engaged cousin and I liked the idea of "handmade coupons"...such as "good for one day of helping you stuff baggettes with birdseed" or "good for one saturday of registering... I am a bridesmaid so I think this is a cute idea....BUT I need a few more ideas for coupons..she will probably be taking her fiance to register, so she won't need me. (When I got married last year, I didn't take a bridesmaid). So I need some "coupon" ideas.....some cute things, and even funny! Thanks!
--------------------
One could be good for helping you write thank you cards... I know I didn't look forward to this part! My hand got tired! Also, good for one night of drinks on me when the stress of the planning gets to you. Trust me when the wedding is about 1 month away she will get so stressed you will be getting more and more phone calls with her venting about this or that.... take her out for a few drinks. As a bridesmaid you probably will be at her dress shopping and fittings so make coupons for that. Lastly, you can make a coupon to be her stand in fiance if there are any parts of the wedding planning he doesn't want to be a part of. You can call it the good for a day as you stand in "fiance". He will probably thank you for it!

Salvation question revised.?

Jeffery Dahmer accepted christ as his personal saviour before he died, which means he gets to go to heaven. My grandmother died a Jehovah's Witness, so sadly she will go straight to hell. It's hard to put my finger on it, but something seems wrong with that. I mean right now, Dahmer probably is up in heaven enjoying a nice gift basket of steamed Puerto Ricans care of Yeshua, and my grammy is being forced to give Satan a handy. This message is mainly aimed at evangelicals. I want to make it clear that my grandmother absolutely did not believe in the trinity. She also believed Jesus died on a stake and not a cross. Plus she believed that Jesus himself was not god, but in fact god's son. As you can see, she was no Kirk Cameron. Please be specific in your answer about where my grandmother is. Don't just tell me a bible verse. I know the verse, that's why I'm asking about my mimaw.
--------------------
I am a Christian, one of Jehovah's Witnesses. According to the Bible your Grandmother is asleep in death, but has the hope of being Resurrected by Jehovah. The Hellfire doctrine isn't Biblical.

What could I get my Mother for Mother's Day?

My parents recently redid our kitchen so she has been buying new things for the kitchen. I was hoping to buy her something nice for the kitchen, but it seems like she has bought everything already. Recently she has bought a new toaster, microwave, spice rack, paper towel rack, new coffee maker, new oven/stove and a new television to put in the eating area. So I was thinking about maybe making some type of gift basket with smaller things? I was thinking about like new utensils, measuring cups, and other small things like that? Yes or No? If so, what other small things? My Mom isn't the type that would want flowers or jewelry so things like that I wouldn't even look at. But Mother's day is creeping up on me, and I really need to figure something out. lol. (: Thanks!
--------------------
I think mother is the precious relation.we should love our mother from the heart.no one take her place in our lives.I think you are right.you should buy a gift basket with smaller things. you should buy some uni ques things for her.don't give her kitchen utensils. give her some book or beauty product if she don't like jewelery.bake a cake for her.this is the best way to show love.

I need alot of help with our annual Christmas Party this year. Any and all donations welcomed.?

I am a supervisor and I work with the mentally challenged and the developemental disabled. They really have a good time at our party. They also look forward to it. When I first started in 2003 there were only 50 consumers now we have 149 and we really need as many donations as possible. We are a none profit organization who really supports the disabled. Any gift basket or blankets anything will help. We have drawings for door prizes and thats when our little people win their prizes. Please e-mail me at chandrafrazier@comfortlivingservices.com for any questions and I will try and answer them. Once again every little bit counts and the smallest not important thing for us means the world to them . Once again PLEASE HELP.
--------------------
that's really thoughtful of you . . . i know you're trying to cast a wide net to get this taken care of, but it might be easier and more beneficial - and more community oriented - if you look in your community for resources. certainly local businesses might be able to sponsor or donate and you never know what an ad, a letter to the editor or a small article in the local newspaper (if you can figure out a way for them to write about you!) can bring. families of your clients might be able to kick in a little cash or manpower and even school kids/high school organizations might be able to donate time to help with decorating, serving or even like the high school band or chorus could come play some Christmas tunes. sometimes all you have to do is ask . . . and it's harder for people to say no when it's something positive in their own community - and when you're asking face to face. for door prizes, local businesses might be happy to donate one of their products or a gift certificate for services (hair cut, massage, cleaning, etc) and sometimes larger retail stores will donate products to a good cause. good luck!

What is a cute gift idea for a new relationship?

I have just started dating someone and for Easter he is making me a huge dinner and desserts...yes that is plural. haha (because I gave up sweets for Lent.) He is very sappy and so am I, so I'd like to do something sweet for him because of all the nice things he does for me. What are some cute ideas that aren't too cheesy? Some ideas I've got to work with so far...he loves starbucks, fine wine, and University of KY! So one idea is to make him an easter basket with each of these things...help! :)
--------------------
Sounds like you got your idea, my only suggestion is to add a big goofy easter bunny tie a ribbon with a Coffee cup in one hand a wine glass in the other with a wine bottle and the bunny wearing a University of KY hat or shirt. That would be soo cute and goofy and he will love it.

What the best gift you have ever recieved and or given? (not romantic. for family members)?

I have no idea what to get my mom or dad for christmas. if this helps: My mom like gardening, pretty things and cooking. shes somewhat spiritual and is an herbalist. My dad is a nature person too. Loves the out doors. Very practical person. think a little more then "get your mom gardening gloves and a basket with seeds and tools" and "get your dad a hiking stick" or things along thoes lines. Last year I got my mom a copper heart wind chime from gaiam and my dad a cherry pit neck pillow that you can heat in the microwave.
--------------------
The best gift I recieved (besides a romantic present) for Christmas was my dog, Trixie. She is now 7 and I love her! I don't know if your parents would be big on pets, though. You could always make a donation to a charity through their name, such as to an environmental/conservation charity. Or, you could get them some camping supplies -- like a tent, sleeping bags, etc.

I need a gift to bring to thanksgiving dinner with my friend's family! ?

They keep a kosher house, so I can't bring food that I've made. Thing is, I was counting on being able to bake something and now I don't have time to get anything nice. Is showing up with supermarket flowers/homemade fruit basket better or worse than showing up empty-handed? I'm not old enough to buy alcohol either; I don't have a car, I can only get to the little dollar store and grocery store within walking distance. What do I do? Help!
--------------------
How about something like a scented candle they can burn another time, or a box of chocolate (as long as its kosher) that they can eat later. Some people think that they must bring something that must be used right then, and that is not the case. Since the Hanuka holiday are upon us, perhaps you can find some of those disposable hand towels that are so popular now at the grocery store with a seasonal design. (They are very plush and come in a dispenser or basket, and are meant to be put in a powder room so each guest has a fresh towel, instead of putting a decorative hand towel in there that no one wants to "mess up") It is very thoughtful of you to remember a hostess gift. Kudos to your parents for raising such a thoughtful person!

First birthday with husband?

Long story: Husbands birthday is next Saturday. We met at the end of September last year and got married 3 weeks ago for anyone that's doing the math. Anyway, I want to make it a 3 day birthday for him beginning next Friday and here's my plan FRIDAY - 2 dozen chocolate covered strawberries delivered to our home (he gets home from work before me). Then arrive home with a balloon bouquet and a gift basket for an early-evening massage I will be giving him. SATURDAY - 2 dozen chocolate chip cookies delivered to our home, breakfast in bed with gifts to open then spending the day together napping and making love. A dinner out with a special birthday cake brought to our table and to the strip clulater with some friends. SUNDAY - A bouquet of (very manly) flowers delivered to our home and out to brunch with family. Is there anything else I should do? Shouldn't do? Any unique ideas?
--------------------
Sounds nice. You know him best, so if this sounds like something he'd like, I say go for it.

Christmas ideas, for family. help?!?

My dad is a 42 year old man, who before Christmas will be turning 43. my dad isn't really a tie and suit kinda guy. hes a mechanic. mainly the past Christmases my mom would buy his gift and put my name on it. (things like boxers, sweatpants, etc.). So i have no clue what to get him, Ive gotten him cologne but he doesn't use it. so i need ideas for him. and my mom. shes a very business person. i got her a necklace when i went to Florida, but i need more. she wants a suit but i cant find her one, she wants a pin stripe one. but they don't have them in her size. shes 44 yrs old so i need ideas on her. and lastly my brother...... well.. he likes construction and art. everyone gets him legos and lincon logs, but he looses them, ive made him an entire art gift basket, about 100 gel pens, 200 pencils and crayons, and 60 markers. and 250 sheets of sketch paper, he cant find any of it. id get him clothes, but hes hard to fit without him being there, and he doesn't like my style for him. so i could use ideas on him too. THANKS SO MUCH.!
--------------------
dad: new customized tool box or set of tools he has been wanting. you could also give him a nice lunchkit filled with all different kinds of snacks he enjoys. (drinks/candy/chips, etc) mom: shoes? rings? bracelets? and you can never go wrong with a multiframe picture frame and make a collage of the your familie's best family pics for her office or room! brother: not sure how old he is, but puzzles have been great! and if you make the puzzle yourself, and write fun notes on the back, it makes them much more excited to complete it! also, boys seem to like video games/computer games.

What to give a coworker who's been fired?

I have been asked to buy the "farewell" gift for one of my co-workers. I've worked at that company for a little over a year & tho I like this person I don't know her that well. I do know that since I started she's been temporarily laid off once before but this time she's been "permanently" laid off. We're all very angry about this. Anyway no one really has suggestions at the office, we're losing 3 other employees in the same week so I think everyone is too emotional to give me a suggestion. I was thinking of giving her a gift basket made up with some candles, nice teas, spa/bath stuff & a few little wines. Is this kind of thing appropriate? My motivation is to give her something that will help her relax and pamper herself. Anyone else have any suggestions? PS- this present will be opened in front of everyone (no pressure right) and most of the staff has chipped in so its not all my money but I'm pitching in a bit extra to make it special.
--------------------
Sounds very nice to me. Lots of thought and if they do not like it, let someone else do it next time.

My Ex and what happened on Friday?

her birthday was Friday and I sent her a godiva gift basket and roses and we haven't been together for two months. I would have felt bad not sending her something because I do love her. Anyhow, I know from friends of hers she's still single. We have been on again off again for three years and mainly because of her breaking up. She sent me an email saying thank you for the gifts and she started telling me about her neighbors in this email. I responded and she hasn't responded. A mutual friend of mine said she's been online today emailing everyone. Why is she ignoring my last email? What should I do? One of my friends said she just likes to use me and doesn't care about me. I know that when I use to go to her house, I would be the one paying for everything and on my bday she doesn't even give me a card. It's been two days now and no response. Should I just not bother her? Let her come to me? Will she come to me? 11 hours ago - 3 days left to answer.

she might just be trying to get over you, for good.

What to do at a beauty product themed party?

I'm thinking of having a beauty themed party for girlfriends. I thought it would be fun for everyone to bring a small gift basket with 5 of their favorite beauty items, ( hair products, moisturizers, makeup, skin care, ect) and then play some sort of game where everyone gets someone else's basket. Besides that, what are some things we could do do further the beauty theme? I really don't want to hire outside parties to come, like a pedicurist or a manicurist. Looking for things we can do ourselves or things I can provide for the guests. Thanks so much for any ideas!
--------------------
Or you could all try a bit of each others 5 items? That would be a good way for people to sample different products that they wouldnt normally come accross. You could have a range of beauty treatments going on through the evening, like nail painting and if anyone knows head massaging then that would be very relaxing too! Its a nice idea - wish one of my friends would do that!
