My instructor is 2 time world tae quan do champion from South Korea. He teaches an all female kickboxing class that I attend. I want to give him a gift for Xmas and I need some ideas. Thing is, he also has his wife and two kids (one is 5, one is 7) at work with him (the wife baby sits the kids of the othe women who take the class) and I was wondering if should give one big gift for the family, like a fruit basket, or individual gifts? Would a gift certificate to Costco (which he uses for his business) be ok or an insult?
--------------------
A fruit basket might be a really good idea since its for the whole family. Koreans like fresh fruit especially pears. In Korea people give some funny gifts compared to things you might give in the US. Seriously they give each other gifts like laundry detergent and toilet paper ie: useful items. Koreans generally speaking enjoy electronics and movies, so a giftcard to some place like Best Buy or Hastings might be appreciated. By the way Koreans typically prefer to open gifts in private as its part of their culture. So don't be insulted if they accept the gift and then go on about their business and don't say something like "go ahead--open it now".

What should I put in a gift basket for someone who has cancer?
My friend is terminally ill with cancer but she really doesn't know much about the disease. I'd like to put some things in that basket like some books that would help her to understand what her body is going through, about natural treatments, or an account of someone going through the same thing. Maybe a robe and some slippers for her stays at the hospital. Something else to make her laugh. I want to make it full of things that are informative, motivating, hope filled, thoughtful, and enjoyable. I was thinking of buying that Crazy, Sexy Cancer book to start. Anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks very very much for the help!
--------------------
If I was dying of cancer, I don't think that helpful books about the disease would make me feel better. It would probably make me more depressed. Terminally ill means not able to recover. Are you sure that's what you mean to say? You would do far better to put in any form of treat or little luxury that you would give if she was well, allowing for diet or medication.

What to get for a graduation gift?
My mom is finally getting her bachelor's degree in education and i am so happy for her! My younger brother and i have decided to make her gift basket. The theme will not be teaching, (She is going to get so many teaching things from her friends that it will get old) it will be Blue and Brown girly stuff (Light blue and brown are her FAVORITE colors). We know we are going to give her personalized M&Ms, some special lotion, and I am not sure beyond that. Please give ideas! I do not want to spend much money, because I am only a teenager, so please keep ideas under $30! Thanks!

A nice soft cushion to sit on. A hot water bottle for comfort when not holding baby.Long terry cloth robe, blue if baby is a boy, pink if girl or just plain white, I should have said light blue. A gift basket is nice. Mom will get things for baby but not for herself, so let some things be for her alone.

HELP!! I want to buy a baby gift for delivery in Spain, ideally local to Murcia?
My sister in law is expecting a baby any day, but she lives in Spain and we live in the UK. We want to send her a gift when the baby is born but Interflora's selection of flowers for Spain is horrible and we would rather send a 'new baby' gift basket or ballloon bouquet than flowers. She lives in the Murcia area, and although we would prefer to use a local florist or shop around there, any company which will deliver throughout Spain would do. I've tried several UK websites which claim to deliver to Spain, but when I click through to checkout they only list the UK for delivery. Does anyone know of any website, whether written in Spainish or English, where I can order the gift? Thanks!
--------------------
Www.aquarelle.es i live in the uk and send flowers to spain with them , selection alrigh and prices reasonable.

I would suggest you hire a computer programmer/web designer to do this for you. The reason being, you would need a few things. - A program, or script to display the options you mention above. - A secure page to allow the user to enter their credit card details, etc, so you can get payment from them. - A secure page (could be incorporated in the page above) to get the user to enter details like name, delivery address, etc. The user may want the gift basket delivered to a different address to where they live, ie if they chose a gift basket for one friend, and then another friend. - A place to store all of the secure information, plus information about what options they chose for the gift baskets. - You may also want/need customers to create an account, so they do not have to include the details of payment, name, address, etc, everytime they order from you. They would then need to log in, so you need to store the username and password of each account. - You might want to keep a history of each user, so they can see what gift baskets they have bought. The user may want to re order a gift basket for someone else. If you want to do this yourself, you are going to have to learn about servers, security, at least one programming language or scripting language. You would probably need to hire a server to store all of the information you need in a secure place. If you do hire a person to do this for you, try to explain exactly what you need. This way, the person you hire can understand what you need, and hopefully build it for your requirements. Do not worry if you think your explanation is too big, the more details the better. This may also save you in having to pay more then what the person quoted to do it. One reason, among many, for the price to go up, is the requirements change, or are not fully explained. Good luck.

Does anyone know a cute baby shower gift basket poem?
It would be similar to a bridal shower gift basket poem but for a baby shower. The ones I have seen involve purchasing household products like All laundry soap or Dawn dish soap. I was looking for one to include baby items. Can you please help?

That's such a good and thoughtful idea, I would definitely google it and they might have some good poem websites you could take a peek at.

What is the exact meaning of "proceeds from..."?
A group I belong to is raffling a gift basket to benefit a local charity. All of the money from the sale of the tickets will go to the charity AFTER we cover the cost of the basket. Is it true to state that "all of the proceeds" will benefit charity? In this case, does "proceeds" mean the same as "profit", or does it mean all the money we collect, regardless of the cost of the basket? I don't want to be misleading! Thanks!!
--------------------
We always try to get the basket donated and the things inside it. If you had expenses by all means, deduct your expenses and the balance (proceeds) goes to charity...Just my opinion...thank you...K

3 - For the gift basket, put random little things like socks, boxers, razors, aftershave, hair gel, movie tickets, mixed or blank CDs, etc. Go to CVS, they'll have tons of things! 8 - Take him on a date, since you haven't seen each other outside school! Go to a movie, iceskating, to a restaurant, etc. Or, make him a fancy dinner. 10 - Get him a mini tree and hand decorate all the ornaments on it. 11 - A giftcard to Bestbuy or an auto parts shop

PICKLED EGGS AND RED BEETS 2 c. (about 1 lb.) young beets 1/4 c. brown sugar 1/2 c. vinegar 1/2 c. cold water 1/2 tsp. salt Small piece stick cinnamon 3 or 4 whole cloves 6 hard cooked eggs Wash beets; cut off leaves and stems, leaving about 1 inch of the root end. Cook until tender. Drain and skin. Boil together for 10 minutes all remaining ingredients except the eggs. Let the beets stand in this liquid for several days. Add whole, hard cooked, shelled eggs to the liquid and let stand in refrigerator for 2 days. I usually buy canned pickled beets and just add the boiled eggs. Very colorful to serve at Easter.

What would be great items to add to these sports baskets?
My wife and I are going to be creating "Sports Baskets" for gifts that wives/girlfriends can give to their husbands/boyfriends. These will be sold by a storefront that has a liquor license and will include beers in addition to different sports themed items. What would be great items to include in the baskets? For example, a basket might contain a 6-pack beer sampler, peanuts, miniature baseball helmet (with favorite team logo), lighter and anything else that might go well in a basket. These "baskets" will not really be baskets but rather tin buckets which will be more "manly" than baskets. What items do you think might do well in something like this? Thanks!

I don't know how expensive you want to make them but how about including things like this: sports magazine tickets to a game coming up or tickets in a draw for this a hat with logo sweat cuffs/headband small weights pre-paid parking card sports socks boxer shorts with logo soap scratch lotto tickets small tool kit/leatherman fishing paraphenalia - hooks, sinkers, spool of fishing line tape measure (to measure the fish of course) dinner for two voucher 'stress' balls book about team stats for a particular sport noisemakers for games/whistle sports store vouchers pens with logos scarf in team colours trail mix HTH!

What would be a creative way to give a 16 year old girl cash for her birthday?
I have a very close relative who is turning 16 years old soon. I don't know what to get her, so I thought that cash would be the best thing. Can you think of a very creative way of giving her cash, or gift cards, without just sticking them in an envelope? I'm pretty good at making baskets up, but how can I do it with cash? Any ideas would be very helpful! Thank You Very Much!

Ideas for a DIY wedding gift?
My brother is getting married and im really close to them both so I wanted to get them a gift abit different with abit of humor. So my idea was to make a huge basket of goodies-like a newlywed kit. Was wondering what ideas anybody has got to add to it? Thank you!

yeah if your a grown up attending this wedding you definitly need to give a card with monetary gift too. If your just a kid a DIY gift by itself is fine. I would put cleaning supplies and things like aluminum foil and zip lock baggies and instead of a basket how bout you put it in a storage tote. This is perfect because new couples starting out dont realize how fast they go threw this stuff

Christmas Gifts for In-Laws?
I got married this year, and now I need to think of Christmas gifts for my husband's side of the family. He's not really big on Christmas shopping, so I told him I'd do it, but I'm a little stuck. He has two sisters--15 and 18--and I bought them some Bath and Body Works Christmas lotion, and thought maybe I could make them gift baskets. I thought about buying them some Christmas socks, and Christmas M&M's or something to put in the gift basket, but I can't think of anything else. Any ideas?

If you got them lostion I would go with a spa like theme,or a relaxing theme. Get them a Christmas sleeping mask and slippers or some comfy pjs. They have adorable pjs at Wal-mart for cheap, or if you budget is a little higher get them Christmas pjs from Victoria Secret with the matching slippers. Any 15 and 18 y/o would love that! And get body spray to go with the lotion! Good Luck!
