Do you know a good birthday gift basket poem/saying?

I am looking for a poem/saying for a birthday gift basket. I have found many for weddings, bridal showers, etc. but not for birthdays! I am going to a friends 30th birthday and thought I could put together a gift basket with a cute little poem to go with it. Thanks!

Ideas for xmas gift baskets/bags?

It is going to really be a strech for me to afford xmas this yr so the sooner I start planning and finding items the better as I have so many to buy for and travel is so expensive. I have three different types of baskets/bags I would like to make. One for couples, one for men and one for women. So far I have found really pretty bottles and giant bags of bath salt to put together for the women, a nice wine and a candle for all. I plan to include some sort of sweet as well in all. I come to the problem of the men in my family, what can I add for them? So far I am at about $10 for ea. one. Would love any ideas!
--------------------
I've always wished someone would give me a basket of small different flavored coffee packs or flavored hot chocolate to try and getting a little package of wrapped chocolate kisses of various varieties thrown in would bring a smile to my face, but I dont know what the prices would be on everything so maybe it could get to be expensive. Walk around everywhere in the store and just look and be alert to what people say their likes and dislikes are. I know a certificate for a Starbucks coffee (if there even are certificates, would make my day) A lot of great ideas pop up when your just looking around. Good luck!

Putting a gift basket together for my friend who is due this Tuesday, can u help me think of more gift items?

I am making the gift basket just for HER, no baby stuff in it. She can't take a bath for 6 weeks afterward, so there is no bath stuff. So far I got slippers, pedicure stuff, nail polish, scented powder, face mask cream, shower gel, loofa..... I am trying to think of more things to put in it for her, but I can't think of anything else. I have already spent about $40, and I can't really spend much more. I just want to put a few more things in there to fill the basket. Any ideas?

I have started making gift baskets, what should be my profit?

Right now, just Easter baskets. But I would like to make for any occasion. But what should I charge? What should my profit be? I mean, is there a standard or is it what i feel? Say I sell the basket for $10 and it cost me $5 to make, is that a decent profit or should it be more? How do you figure this out?
--------------------
Marketing costs (advertising, marketing, printing flyers, whatever you do) typically run one-half of your gross sales on a small project like this. Add your time, shipping/delivery costs of getting all the supplies & product, shipping/delivery of final product to customer (S&H rarely covers more than actual gas to deliver or shipper's fees, not packaging materials and your time). You need to be able to sell for 10 times materials costs. $1 x 10 = $10, of which $5 is marketing/sales/ad costs, $1 is materials costs. The remaining $4 per basket has to pay all your overheads, taxes, and leave you something for profit, i.e. for your pocket. If you're lucky, you net a buck.

Delivering a gift basket via post office?

If I want to deliver a gift basket I made, what process do I have to go through to mail it to someone about an hour away from me?
--------------------
You need to find a box large enough to fit the basket inside, put newspaper or other packing material around the basket so that the contents do not shift during shipping, seal the box, label the box with the address of the person receiving the box, put your return address on it, and take it to the post office for shipping. If the basket will fit in one the post office's flat rate boxes the shipping will be cheaper.

Whats a good idea for a "Thank you" gift basket?

I recieved some very important documents that have been lost for a long time. A friend of mine didn't have to spend money to overnight it or to insure the package, but she did. It was really nice of her to send it right away as well. I want to put together a gift basket for her to thank her, but I dont want to send a gift basket with food or anything edible. What are some good things to put inside? What kind of small things would you like to receved if I were sending this to you?

this is edible but not perishable: packets of quality coffee or tea, gift card to starbucks or dunkin donuts, & a hand written thank you note

Can I save my failed gift basket business?

Hi everyone,my mother & I opened a gift basket business, primarily home & internet based last year. While we have had some sales, it has not been enough to keep us going. Most of our supplies expired and we are out of money to try to keep going. While we bought enough supplies to make a nice variety of baskets, we didnt go completely overboard...or so we thought. We thought we were doing everything right but I guess not.We have talked to other owners on forums like this one and it seemed as if we were doing the same things. We marketed the business in local newspapers, attended a tradeshow (home tradeshow...maybe not the best type to attend?), did a couple radio ads, handed out promotional pieces at major events and walks, donated to other events, did presentations at real estate office, etc.We have even priced our baskets below what most business are asking for so I cant see the price being the problem. We took out about a $10,000 loan and its all gone and we barely made 1/4 back.
--------------------
Sounds like you have a good general approach to business, but you're ignoring your market. Who buys your products? Where are they located? How can they find you? The problem with home based and web based is the trouble in being found, visibility is low for both, especially the web. If you want to sell using e-commerce try selling on ebay, it already has the traffic. Think about ebay as being a mall full of people, and your website is just a random place on a random street. Point is you have to advertise a lot more to get people to even see where you are, whereas through ebay you get the people just "walking by" as it were. The same goes for real world. Have you considered branching out of your home? How are people to find you there? Do most people feel comfortable just stopping in at someone's home to get a gift basket made, or do they feel more comfortable at a mall for instance? One great place for your product that'd probably be lower cost is a flea or farmer's market. People go there for handmade stuff, authentic stuff, which is what you have to offer, with the added bonus of it being customizable. So my advice is that if you're gonna go further, go all out. Branch out of your home and out of your website on the web. You can still maintain both. Get a stall at a flea or farmer's market, have a bunch of pre-made gift baskets and also supplies to make one up and offer easy customization. Then get an account on ebay and sell pre-made gift baskets there. So your business is fairly good, but your locations are wrong. You need the foot traffic, both real world, and online. Without that natural traffic you end up trying way too hard to bring them to you, rather than just letting them find you.

What kind of stuff is good for a Christmas Gift Basket?

I am wanting to make a Christmas gift absket for my new boyfriends mom. We have been dating about three months, she's a really sweet woman who doesn't drink, and I have been to a few family events already. I know for sure a candle of some sort but beyond that I am stuck. Please help :)
--------------------
For some reason oranges always remind me of Christmas, so put an orange in there Nuts, maybe candied pecans make a cheese ball and put in some crackers and a cheese knife set a nice christmas ornament You can dip pretzel sticks (the big thick kind) in chocolate - yum! some fancy hot chocolate like Hazelnut's really good you said you're already putting a candle in there so how about a candle holder? does she like coffee? a gift card to star bucks or where ever If you're putting any food or goodies in it, it means a lot more if you make them yourself and it will impress her too.

What should I put in a gift basket for my mom for mother's day? I have a $80 budget.?

She likes: Shopping to Anne Taylor Loft, Bannana Republic, The Limited, Sephora Gardening, flowers, chocolate, and music. How can I combine all of these( or a few ) to make a nice gift basket for my mom? Thank you so much! :D I really appreciate you taking the time to read and answer this. :D
--------------------
You could fill the basket with a box of Godiva chocolate, buy a few red roses to put around the basket, maybe one or two cd's that she would like to listen to, maybe put her favorite bottle of perfume or favorite make-up / hair product from Sephora in it, and put the rest on a gift certificate from one of those clothing stores you referred to. I would include a cute little card in it and put a little message like, "Mom, because there are so many reasons why I love you so much, I hope you enjoy a few of your favorite things on your special day!" I promise you she will love it.
