My family is planning to do more this year to stock the local food pantries. What do people want and what are they going to send back when it is their turn to donate next year. We want people to be happy for the holidays, not to plan to "re-gift" food.
--------------------
I have no idea what a holiday food basket is.However, I think you should buy what you like and that should be a good start.

Gift basket ideas.... ?
I want to make a gift basket for my pregnant friend who is on bed rest her last trimester. What are some things I can include that would keep her occupied?
--------------------
Crossword puzzles, books, movies, a soft blanket (one she can share with baby one day) a bath robe and slippers that she can wear to the hospital when she has the baby.. if you can get a copy of an ultrasound picture, put that in a frame (I've seen some really cute frames at Hallmark that look like movie reels that say "coming soon" for the ultrasound pic and then "newly released!" for the first pic of baby), some calm CDs, and you could also make coupons for her =) "good for one night of babysitting" or "good for one cooked dinner" of "good for one load of laundry, washed and folded" etc..It would probably put her mind to ease just a little bit to know that once she has the baby, she can redeem those coupons when she needs some extra help! haha =) If she is having any cravings, try to include some of those foods in the basket also. Hope that helps!

What's a unique gift for an expecting mother?
My friend is having a baby shower this weekend and I'd like to get her an awesome gift she'll remember. Any ideas? She told me that the baby has enough clothes to last a while, so that's out of the question. I'm pretty creative, and I've seen some really cute personalized baskets full of goodies. I'd prefer to stay under $20. What would you suggest??

Gift Basket theme ideas...?
I am helping to chair an event which is hosted by our preschool. It is a Jewish preschool and is a bingo night fundraiser. It is always very successful and a big part of it is a raffle for several baskets which are put together by the parents of the different preschool classes. We usually ask each class to work around a theme. I'm looking for some new theme ideas...in the past we've used movie night, game night, Shabbat dinner, etc. as some themes. This yr. I thought of scrapbooking, bathtime/skin care....any ideas?

Movie lovers gift basket help!?
I'm getting my sister a gift basket that's a popcorn tub with a harry potter DVD, popcorn, and a box of candies. What else should I include? Also, where can I get those red stripped popcorn tubs?
--------------------
You can usually find the red striped popcorn tubs at any Blockbuster. You can also include a gift card or certificate to a movie theater or a video store. Maybe a small pillow or even a blanket? You can creative ways to include those in there, I'm sure.

Is A Gift Basket a Good Idea For A Guy?
My guy is really upset with me right now. He asked me not to call or come by his work and sometimes he doesnt take me calls on his cellular. He has never been this upset with me and we are on the verge of breaking up. I dont want to. He's my heart and soul. He calls 3-4 times a day. I sent him a junk food delivery basket today as a "I'm sorry" gift. It had all kinds of candy and snacks he loves. Is this a good idea or will it add fuel to the fire? HEELLLPP

beach gift basket?
my mom is taking us to florida for winter vacation (our first time in florida) in february and i'm the only one who knows...she's telling my 3 brothers at christmas ages 7,12,15...i'm 16...we wanted to get them gifts that would coordinate with that...but we don't know what or how to give it to them...scavenger hunt, gift basket, each separately wrapped,??? and who should we give what to so that we can equally give out presents???? if there's a website or any ideas you have would be great
--------------------
Wrap each separately. It's always fun to spend Christmas morning unwrapping gifts :-) Plus, I think 15 is too old for a gift scavenger hunt. For the gifts, I suggest sunglasses, swim suits, flip flops, and a beach towel. Maybe a disposable camera if they don't have a regular camera. The first items might be hard to find this time of year, so you might be best looking online.

cheerleading buddy baskets?
okay so for cheer we drew names to see who makes gift baskets for who for camp. so i drew a girls name so i now i have to make her a small gift basket as "dorm warming" gift for camp. what should i put in there. in need to all total around 25 dollars. maybe a little more. i already know the simple stuff like nail polish and lip gloss. candy and drinks. i want creative stuff. thanksss<33
--------------------
You could get her a stationary set. Some places even personalize paper by printing their name on it. Since its cheerleading, get some scrunchies, and maybe go to the dollar store and pick up a megaphone. At a gift shop like Hallmark, they have these bookmarks and stuff where you can add charms with initials and stuff, you could do that. :)

Is it legal (or possible) to own and operate 2 small business at once when I am the only employee?
I'd like to start a desktop publishing business once I'm done my training for that. But at the same time, I make scented candles as a hobby but would also like to expand that into a gift business where I sell jar candles, candle favors for events, and gift baskets. I can't figure out a way to combine the 2 into one business, but I really want to do both.
--------------------
No problem, Colleen. You can have as many businesses as you can handle. It is probably best to keep them separate for tax and accounting purposes. That means, keeping a separate record of income and expenses for both, and file a separate Schedule C for each at tax time. Mmm..., I can smell the candles from here.

What small things I can put in my boyfriend's V-day gift basket??Alot of ideas?
I need alot of ideas, it seems my little sister keeps stealing them, I need alot of things that are about 20 dollers , thanks.
--------------------
Sorry to hear you sister stole your ideas! On the other hand, you could use them anyway, after all you were there first, and the men will probably not exchange notes or comments! If all else fails, you could take that twenty and go off to a pound or discount shop and simply pick out things that you like on the spur of the moment. I like that idea. Things could range from some sort of odd sweets to body spray. I usually use upscale toiletries but some years ago, I found a cheap cheap kind that works good for some occasions. One never knows what good things one can find on this sort of shopping expedition. It is indeed like a treasure hunt of sorts. --That Cheeky Lad

Will brownies dry out if I cut them a day ahead?
I'm giving homemade brownies as a gift tomorrow and I made them today. Would it be ok to cut the brownies and put them on a plate now or will they dry out? I'm wrapping the plate in that clear wrapping that they use for gift baskets.
--------------------
They might.I have found that if you put a slice of bread under them it makes them soft.So do this and then transfer in the morning before putting them in the basket. This works Great with cookies!

Is It Common For War Veterans To Be Treated To Freebies Back In Society?
I know 2 men who served in Iraq from my neighborhood; they were saying that since they returned home that they have been treated differently: -they get offered things for free in stores -the police let one of them off for speeding when he saw his Army ID -the local Church gives them food/gift baskets every month Is this sort of thing common for veterans upon returning home?
--------------------
Unfortunately not much anymore. When I came back from Kyrgyzstan right after 9/11, some of the local fast food joints occasionally gave me my meal for free when the manager overheard me talking about my deployment with someone else in line. Had a lot of "thanks so much" from various people. That kind of stuff. It was nice cause it wasn't expected and it let us know we were appreciated. I'm currently in Baghdad right now, and when I come home in a few months, I'm sure I won't get any special treatment (nor do I expect anything...it's my job). We (Americans) seem to have a pretty short attention span. Most people probably go weeks, if not months now, not thinking about the war or the troops at all. They think that by putting a little yellow ribbon on their car, that they're supporting the troops. Everyone seems more concerned about the economy and other things than what's going on 6000 miles from them...and on one hand, it's ok. For most people, they have no direct connection to the war and the media doesn't report much anymore. Once the #s of deaths went down, the media decided to stop reporting all together instead of reporting all the great things that we are doing here and that most Iraqi's love us here and don't want us to leave. Thanks to all that do support the military. Whether you agree with the war or not, there should never be a soldier, sailor, airman or marine that comes home to the disrespect that is sometimes shown. //getting off my soapbox now :) Hope I answered your question well!)

Good cheap holiday gift ideas?
like for teens... i was thinking of like mini gift baskets? what do you think? for about 12 friends? or any other INEXPENSIVE (cuz I'm beyond broke) for holiday christmas presents ideas...

There are usually good stuff available in little gift shops. You should just get them chocolates with a card from the dollar store. I love it when people give me chocolates, its simple, thoughtful, elegant and always a pleasure to eat. You dont even have to give the expensive ones.. If you have a slightly bigger budget than the dollar store, then usually places like wall mart or winners have amazing holiday gift boxes. They usually come wrapped up. If you're really lucky, you might even find stuff going on sale for about 5 to 10 dollars.. But I'd stick with the personalized card and a small box of goodies.. Hope this helps!

Disney Gift Basket Ideas?
We are taking our two year old to Disney World and we were looking into having a gift basket delivered to our hotel room to suprise her when we got there however they want $350.00 for the one we were looking at. So, instead I am going to make my own but I need some ideas of all Disney things to put in there. If I could get some ideas it would be great thank you!
--------------------
Hello! What a great idea! Disney prices can get a little outrageous, especially when it comes to souvenirs. The best advice I can offer is to visit a local Disney Store, (usually located in local malls). These stores have the same type of merchandise at half the cost. You can also check the online Disney Store as well, you might be able to order things for even less money from the site. Sending gifts to the room is a nice addition to the vacation, but since the child is only two, they may not appreciate the fact that it was $350.00!! I would get some Disney themed towels for the pool, order some Mickey ears, get some candy and novelty items to complete the basket. The only thing I can tell you to buy IN the parks that will be worth it, is the autograph book! I still have mine from our first trip to Disney when I was younger. I had all the characters I met sign the book and leave me a little note! It's a good way to remember the trip when you're that young. Good Luck!
