Great Question! This idea is better than any apple mug! I teach k-5... and the things I have to buy the most are... * Pencils, gluesticks (they disappear, run out faster than families think) * stickers * dry erase makers (if they have a white board in their room) * Sharpies * Kleenex * small ziploc bags * hand sanitizer * "prizes" for bingo and/or other games (i.e. small erasers) I know these seem very "practical" and not fun... but that's where I spend a lot of money. I'm sure she'll love it.

Question about making hot chocolate at home?
I'm making gift basket's for Christmas. Instead of doing powdered hot chocolate mixes with cocoa powder, I was wondering if I could make a mix with grated chocolate... Anyone have any experience or suggestions to share?

Both of these ingredients affect both the flavor and the richness of the hot chocolate. So experiment with different types and brands of chocolate until you find one you like Hot Chocolate: Place the milk, semisweet chocolate, milk chocolate, and sugar (if using), in a saucepan over medium heat and whisk periodically until the mixture just reaches the boiling point. Remove from heat and if more foam is desired, use a wire whisk or hand held immersion blender to whip the hot chocolate. Pour the hot chocolate into two cups and garnish with a dollop of whipped cream and a dusting of cocoa powder or grated chocolate, if desired. Whipped Cream: In your mixing bowl, place the whipping cream, vanilla extract, and sugar and stir to combine. If you have time, cover and chill the bowl and wire whisk in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. When chilled, beat the mixture until stiff peaks form. The whipped cream will keep in the refrigerator for a day or two. You might want to reconsider sending food, as the recipient might be particular about eating only Kosher food products. I'd consider sending a nice honey dish instead- since honey is an integral part of Rosh Hashana.

hell in a hand basket gift?
I have a friend whos birthday is comeing up soon and she keeps saying that she "is going to hell in a hand basket... she already has her suitcase packed" I have her real gift but I always get a gag gift. This years gag gift I thougt it would be funy to get her a "hell suvrival kit" I have: horns-- so she will blend in with the native pop. burn cream-- for those pesky burns she may suffer spot bandaids-- for when satan pokes her with his pitch fork of not listening.. but that's were I get stuck... there is plenty of room left in the basket I have for her but I can't come up with aything else any help would be great

what kind of license do i need to open a bakery. space for 1,230 square feet at our mall and 4 mths rent free
and I'll be working for myself. I have $5,000 to start with I'll be making cakes, cookies, and gift baskets. We will have other great products and even so we don't have a bakery here anymore. The guy that use to have a bakery said he made a lot of money and then HEB bought him out and he sold everything and works for them.

Should I pursue my dream of opening an online bakery?
I ask because I don't eevn know where to start. I have baked several cheesecakes that people said were good. I asked if they would buy them, and they said yes (of course they may have been lying). I want to make things like homemade pralines and fudge and send samples to local businesses like gift shops, gift basket companies, etc. Do you think this is the right path? What do you suggest?

Cookie recipes that do not harden after cooling?
I have been trying to bake cookies for a gift basket for the men at my husband's work. Every recipe I have tried since so far have hardened after cooling the cookies. Am I doing something wrong or does someone have recipes for Oatmeal Raisin, Chocolate chip, and peanut butter cookies that stay soft after cooling? The men at his work like soft chewy cookies not hard ones.

You could also reduce your baking time and cut back on the flour by about 2 tablespoons Here's my pb cookie recipe 1/2 cup peanut butter ( I increase to 3/4 cup) 12 cup butter 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed 1 egg 1 tsp vanilla 1/4 tsp salt 3/4 tsp soda 1 1/4 cup flour cream butters, sugars and egg blend in vanilla sift in dry ingredients. preheat oven to 375 roll cookies into 1/2 inch balls and smash with a fork. bake 7-9 minutes. these will stay soft if you don't overbake

What can I get my co-workers for Christmas?

They set up big flea markets at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds either once or twice a year. That's at the edge of Berea and Middleburg Hts. Jamie's Flea Market is open almost year round in Lorain County. I can't help on how you can set up a consignment or resale shop.

Is there a website that sells good cheap candy?
I am looking for a website where I can kind of make my own gift basket filled with chocolate, hard candy, now & laters etc, but I don't want to have to buy everything wholesale. That way, your guest has something to eat in her room (which is a practical situation) and she can taste a lot of different things in a short time, so that she can decide which things to buy and bring home to her friends. That said, American chocolate does taste like crap...... ;-) ....but Three Musketeers, 100 Grand, and Nestlé Crunch are quite good.
